We visit for lunch and evening meals quite often. All our experiences have been great. Last Sunday we returned with family and had the special of whole Chicken for 2. The chicken is served on a platter with the usual roasts (potatoes, carrots & parsnips, oh and stuffing!) The presentation was lovely. Plenty of side vegetables, more than enough. A large jug of gravy to help yourselves. Everything was piping hot, just as I like it. The staff are very warm and welcoming. The meal is very reasonably priced @ £30 for 2. What’s there not to like? One of our favourite places. Well done all at Jeffreyston Inn.

This included a Sunday lunch like many previous reviews you won’t get a better Sunday lunch anywhere. The atmosphere of the Inn is warm with wonderful service. Just had the most amazing meal tonight. It was absolutely delicious and far exceeded all expectations, despite the wonderful reviews. I had the goats cheese salad which came with lots of tasty elements; my husband had the Feather & Fin, with a mouth watering garlic butter sauce which he says he would bathe in! Everyone is still mentioning the meal and we’ve arrived home!! The portion sizes were incredibly generous and the bill was very reasonable for the high standard of the food. Service was also excellent. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Wow, thank you so much!

After a visit in July 2022 I wrote that the food was stunning. Well, it is still stunning!! After another year of travelling the country in our caravan, this is still the best pub/restaurant food we have had ANYWHERE! This time we chose from the specials board - Fillet Steak Rossini and the Tomahawk Pork Chop. Both were amazing, tender, beautifully cooked, lovely veg and real potato chips. I really didn't need it, but I had a dessert of Lemon Roulade - delicious! Not only are the dishes excellent, but they are also very good value for money. At a time when some places are putting up their prices so much that we'd think twice about going, at the Jeffreystone the prices are reasonable. No doubt both these factors - excellent quality and reasonable price - are a reason it's so difficult to get a table! It's also lovely to see that so many local people here - another good sign. We'll be back in October - and booking our table well in advance!

My wife and I went to the Jefreyston Inn again this week for Sunday Lunch which as always was fantastic. My wife who prefers a Vegetarian option was very pleased with the meal that Cathy the owner and chef had prepared for her a vegetarian Lasagne with Blue Cheese and a mixture of Vegetables, absolutely delicious she said.I, being a bit of a carnivore opted for the Roast Beef, plenty of tender meat, lovely Cauliflower Cheese and other veg's. Enough food on my plate to feed several people. The welcome that we get from Cathy and Viv her partner (when he is not of playing Golf) is of the best, we as well as other patrons who dine there regularly are treated like family, so much so that when i book Cathy will ask me "what my wife would like this week" I always answer "surprise her" and she does always trying something new for her to try, she has not been disappointed yet. Cathy always comes out of the kitchen as time allows her to check that all is OK with everyone's food, if there is a problem (never experienced one myself) Cathy will rectify it immediately if necessary. WE have heard that some people say that the service is slow, Cathy's response is "if you want fast food then you are in the wrong place, McDonalds is 5 miles further down the road". I can attest that Cathy cooks all of the meals from fresh ingredients and is cooked to order, so a short wait of 10 minutes or so can be expected, but when your food arrives on very hot plates you will not be disappointed. As for the Sweet Menu, there is something to suit all tastes, I have tried all of the sweets over time and can honestly say, hand on heart, they are again of the finest quality. We have recommended the Jeffreyston Inn to several people and taken a few friends there, all have been delighted with the quality and quantity of the food, the service from the staff, and the ambiance of the Pub, every one Strangers and locals are made very welcome. Cathy and Viv are running a country style pub with great country style food of excellent quality and quantity. I have no hesitation of recommending this pub to others, not only for Sunday Lunches but also, Wednesday for delicious Curries and Thursday, Friday and Saturday for Bistro evenings, steaks to die for, unless you have a very healthy appetite steer clear of the Mixed Grill, an enormous platter of food, more than one person can eat, delicious!Looking forward to our next visit, hope to see you there.

We've been in Pembrokeshire for three days and have been looking forward to visiting the local pub after a busy day walking. It isn't open until Wednesday evening which is curry night. Great we thought, a nice real ale and a curry. We called in at 6.35 intending to do just that and to sit in the garden. The greeting from the bar person was non existant. In fact she was curt to the point of rudeness. The one customer, an elderly gently was friendly and tried to make us feel welcome. No please or thank you or info about curry. No aromatic smells either. We were obviously an inconvenience so decided not to put anymore of our hard-earned cash over that bar. Glass was dirty and no real ales on draught.

We were completly blown away by how tasty the food was and had no complaints! (Also provided with a homemade veggi gravy)They had a good range of beverages and the dessert menu was very impressive! We had a family Sunday Lunch here recently, and although the food itself was ok, the service was absolutely terrible. We had our table booked for 1:30pm, but we were told to sit in a lounge area until our table was ready. 45 minutes later, we were still sitting there, waiting for our table. There were quite a few of us, so it was a bit of a squeeze in the lounge area for us to all be sitting together. We’d ordered our drinks whilst waiting, and a waitress even took our food orders whilst we sat here. No apologies for the time delay were provided, and there was absolutely no explanation, or reason, as to why we could not have been seated at our table immediately. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so we were all a bit confused, and agitated by this. As I mentioned earlier, the food was ok. The main course was a standard roast dinner. Nothing spectacular, but not terrible. We wanted dessert, but lost track of how long we had to wait for our table to be cleared, and the dessert menu to be delivered to us. We then had to wait for about 30 minutes before we eventually managed to flag someone down, and ask them to take our order. The wait for the desserts to arrive was disgusting. We all had standard desserts, that would not have taken a long time to prepare. Probably a case of removing from the fridge and putting it on a plate, or putting a dish in the microwave to heat up. Very simple. But the amount of time we were waiting, suggested that perhaps someone was grinding down fresh cocoa beans, and churning the ice cream manually out the back. Again, we had to flag someone down to enquire as to how much longer we were going to be waiting for our desserts. Once they had finally arrived, they were ok. Anticlimactic. I don’t think every dessert was enjoyed by every member of family. As soon as we had finished, we didn’t want to wait another lifetime for the offer of coffees, so we decided to pay and leave. The service was shocking. After having a table booked for 1:30pm, we eventually left well after 4pm. There is absolutely no need for that length of time to be dedicated to poor service, when we didn’t even have a 3 course meal each, and coffees afterwards. The attitude of the waitresses were also shocking. There were no apologies, and they gave off the impression that they were fed up, and couldn’t be bothered. As a family, we were all disgusted by the less than poor service, and the attitudes of those serving us. I don’t think we will be returning.

The meats, veg and Yorkshire puddings all well cooked and very tasty. We then had a long wait for our desserts. I had profiteroles and they were hard. Others had cheesecake, bread and butter pudding and crumble and said they were nice. We had 2 children with us and they were getting fed up. We only had 2 courses and it was gone 4pm when we left. We decided to go home for coffee. The atmosphere was nice but service slow and lacking. We had to try to get someones attention whenever we needed anything. It felt like we were constantly being forgotten about as there was a lack of communication.

We wanted to order off the specials board and the general menu. My wife ordered a baked crab dish and I ordered rib-eye steak. Some time after we were informed that there were no steaks available, nor gammon. They did have 2 lamb left??? I reluctantly opted for the crab as well. I wish I hadn't. This was supposed to be served with garlic potatoes. Couldn't taste the garlic at all. Also "fresh" seasonal vegetables. The carrots were overcooked and leathery. No wonder there didn't appear to be any locals eating. I suppose I should have played safe and had a burger. Next time McDonalds.
