Amazing vegan cafe. The best sandwiches around. Ice tea is also superb. Lovely staff and our favourite cafe.

My recommended Coffee venue within Chester, Staff are always welcoming and go above and beyond for their customers. Excellent coffee art as well, sometimes a shame to ruin it by drinking it.

Visited a few times always a relaxed vibe and friendly staff. Oat milk flat white is a favourite, although the oat milk flavour is more distinctive the dairy personally I find it compliments the espresso flavour well. Only issue Ive found is there seems to be a lack of ventilation in the shop can feel quite tropical and humid sometimes especially when cold outside.

Only had tea but was very nice right in the town centre. staff were very friendly

Stopped here for lunch, it had a very limited menu I felt. They offer half potions for kids which is good, however doesn’t feel like the most kid friendly place, no offer of highchair and no changing facilities in the toilet. The avocado on toast was nice and the chocolate croissant was very good. Probably wouldn’t return if I’m the area would rather try somewhere different.

I came to do some work in the shop today, and the lady behind the counter was the most friendly, and welcoming person. The coffee was amazing (as per usual) and had a piece of banana bread that was moreish. Cool vibe and just the perfect little place. My absolute favourite, and will gladly do the travel from West Kirby any chance I get.

I was visiting Chester with family and found this cafè on Happy Cow. So happy we came for breakfast! Pastries were lovely, we got the morning bun and the chocolate croissant, both delicious. My husband ordered the scrambled eggs on sourdough and loved it. The café itself is nice and clean, plenty of tables, very central and that was great for us tourists. Staff friendly and smiley. Loved every bit, will be back soon!

Just popped in for a cup of tea, however from what we saw that other people were eating it looked good. Tea was great.

Lovely food. All vegan and very tasty. I do not consume any Onion and Garlic and they were able to make Sandwich and Pasta for me.

Is invited to the Jaunty Goat by a business associate who is vegetarian. Having dinned in many vegan restaurants I was expecting something rather special Whilst The Jaunty Goat achieved a great many of my expectations I was overwhelmed by my lunch of mushrooms on sourdough toast .The mushrooms would have benefited from some additional seasoning?The mint Tea was very good and I will return and experience another meal

We enjoyed a wide choice of snacks, meals and drinks. I took a family member who is so used to a choice of one item, in any other restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and cosy yet the decor is definitely clean and fresh, not cluttered. The service was impeccable and with a smile. What more can you say but going again.

Called in here for a hot drink on a chilly/windy day last week with my dog (dog friendly-treats & water provided). Had a lovely oat milk hot chocolate (small cups!) and a decent sized piece of Orange & Earl Grey cake. Pleasant staff & surroundings.

Greeted by friendly staff and sat down in the lovely furnished cafe with the best ambiance. Great selection of cakes and coffees, loved what I had, and the staff were also very informative for any questions I had as I am new to the cafe: will definitely return!

Although vegan this place is great for non vegans too The porridge is to die for but very filling. The mushrooms on toast also great.

I’d been to the original Jaunty Goat cafe a few years ago when visiting Chester and loved it. On a recent visit I looked them up to see if they were still trading and to my delight I found that they have opened a fully vegan cafe in Chester as well! Went in with my family who had never been…all 3 of them thoroughly enjoyed their coffees and the slice of earl grey and orange cake that we shared, including my mom who is a fantastic baker and is not easily impressed! A really sweet place I hope to return to again and again.

Good plant based food .. a little bit of savory taste was missing , and sausages and bacon very very dry .. but overall is a great coffee shop/ with good brunches!coffee is amazing

Super establishment! Smart, welcoming, clean and 'beeyoooootiful' cake to boot. Prompt, friendly service; dog friendly; vegan - so my chocolate came with oat milk; the most wonderful vibrantly healthy plants growing within - sooo great to see real plants and not silk or plastic rubbish. The houseplants are the most lush I have ever seen, creating a lovely environment; the hot chocolate was really good but their homemade lemon and poppyseed loaf was - to quote Craig NH - aaaa-may-ZING!! My, it is mighty fine. Do go! Has a couple of bench style seats outside on the pavement too. Shall definitely be revisiting. (They also have a branch in Chester on Bridge Street.) Recommended?? In a heartbeat.

Coffee was good but didn't like the atmosphere of the cafe. Seating was quite close together so it felt a little squashed, also felt it was a little over priced.

Love coming here for a casual Sunday catch up with an old friend. Its a cosy little cafe with lovely staff, and amazing cakes....seriously try the lemon and raspberry sponge 😋

Be careful: I lost my wallet in there and none of the staff knew anything about it, neither were they interested in helping.

If you like coffee, tea or other wet ingestibles, this is the place for you. They've got it all. If you want food, they've got a great seasonal menu which will surely have something you like. It's all plant based, which is a plus for me. If you think that's not for you, still give it a try. They're nice about it.

What's the deal here? Regular customer usually in most days. Order is toast and a Cappucino every day. So yeah... the cheapest thing on the menu but I can't justify paying an additional £3.50 for some smashed avo and a sprinkle of seeds... Anyway, what used to cost me less than a fiver with my loyalty card now costs £6.90 or £6.20 with the discount. What justifies such a huge leap in price? Is it making up for rent at the completely unnecessary bakery or is just trying to squeeze every last morsel of profit out as you possibly can from your regular customers? £3.50 for 2 slices of bread? Jog on... How can you open your own bakery then charge more for the baked goods from said bakery???About a grand a year out of the til from me gone.

On a trip to Chester recently, I’d stopped for a bite to eat at the Jaunty Goat. My friend who lives in Chester swears this place was great for food and drink. So I took some time out and did just that. Although I’m not a Vegan, I still enjoyed everything this place had to offer. The ambience was lovely, tastefully decorated and with comfortable seating inside, it was a great to stop for a light lunch, mid afternoon snack or even just a coffee. The staff were so friendly and polite, I’d mentioned I’d never been there before and could they recommend food and drink options for me. For something to eat I went with Wild mushrooms on toast with pesto and a drink was Iced Peach tea (it was a hot day) The food arrived in good time, it was hot but not overly and tasty. The staff were always around but not that you felt “mithered” as can sometimes happen. I will definitely go back again, food, service and ambience were excellent. This first time visitor left very happy. My rating: 5/5

Really delicious breakfast if you fancy a bit of a twist on an English breakfast without feeling like you're missing out on anything! Tea is served so whimsically too and the interior is lovely

I was quite sceptical when I saw a 'vegan' breakfast, but to my surprise, not only was it absolutely delicious, but it was better than the meat-containing alternative! Absolutely delicious food with a brilliant vibe and very helpful staff. Highly recommended!

The staff were welcoming and serve was quick even though all tables were filled. Drinks were tasty and delicious cakes. Would come back .

It was my first visit. I had a mocha with coconut milk to take away and noticed they were using my favourite coconut milk whilst making it so it seemed promising. It wasn't cheap but this is a small shop rather than a chain. However, it was a fairly average tasting coffee and it was in the smallest takeaway cup I've had for years, reminiscent of a cup of squash at a village fete in years gone by. I won't be returning.

I'm a little hesitant to write this review in case they become even busier and it's more difficult to get a table. However this place really is the best coffee house in Chester. Fantastic food, very friendly and helpful staff and of course delicious coffee. Whether you're a local or a visitor to Chester don't miss this place, no where else can hold a candle to it.

If you like hot coffee ask for extra hot, otherwise would be 5 stars. Generous potions of lovely cakes.

We liked this place so much we went twice during our weekend in Chester. Amazing coffee and hot chocolate, tasty food, and very friendly staff. Our only complaint was that the full English was slightly dry -- it needed something juicier on the plate (the sausages, bacon, and hash browns were all slightly overcooked). But the coffee was outstanding and I'd love to have a place like this as our local coffee shop.

Lovely staff, delicious food which was great quality. Chocolate cake was delicious although wouldve been great with vegan cream which they didnt have. Chai tea latte wasnt the best but still a nice experience. Managed to sit on the bar stools and eat there rather than wait for a table. Just one small toilet so maybe not super useful if you need baby changing or anything. All staff wearing masks

Called in for lunch on Monday for the first time, I’ve been to the other cafe previously but first time in this one. Loved everything about it, very friendly staff and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Found Jaunty Goat on Happycow and called for lunch as it was round the corner from our hotel. Lovely vibe and great sounding vegan options. Ordered orrechiette with broccoli, kale, lemon and chilli for me and Korean poke bowl for hubby, with a jasmine tea and green tea. The food was delicious, we could not fault it at all and devoured every morsel. There were lots of vegan cakes but I was too full to partake having eaten a large breakfast earlier. Lovely friendly staff too. Highly recommended.

My partner and I had an amazing full English breakfast here with vegan sausage, bacon, mushrooms, beans, tomato, avocado, a sweet potato hash brown and thick Sourdough toast. Washed down with a delicious oat latte! This place is excellent for vegans, vegetarians and people looking for something a bit different and plant-based. Can't wait to have more tasty food and coffee from Jaunty Goat soon.

Visited this place the other day and had the bacon and chicken sandwich. It was absolutely lovely, great flavours and a very good portion size. We will definitely be visiting again as soon as possible, can’t wait to sit in as the place looked very nice inside too.

Right.. so I had no idea it was a vegan coffee shop. So when I was asked if I was ok having Oat milk.. because I was befuddled and I'm British I simply said, "yes...?". Anyway it was lovely, great coffee with naturally sweet oat milk. My wife doesn't drink coffee and is lactose intolerant, she also loved it and drank most of it. We now have oat milk in the fridge. So thanks for a great coffee and a new way of enjoying coffee and hot chocolate for my wife!

What a lovely place providing vegan food/ drinks. Staff friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu. Nothing is too much trouble. Food quality excellent and a good variety on the menu. Coffee very nice as well. Thoroughly recommended.

Tomamos un café en la calle Bridge el día anterior y fue encantador, así que estábamos ansiosos por desayunar en el totalmente vegano. ¡No nos decepcionó! Está en una hermosa ubicación, justo al lado de las murallas de la ciudad, con la vista más hermosa. Todo el personal era encantador y estaba impecablemente limpio, sin duda me sentí seguro. El café fue excelente nuevamente y el desayuno inglés completo fue increíble. ¡Cada bocado fue perfecto! No suelo entusiasmarme mucho con la comida, pero esto era ridículamente bueno. Salimos sintiéndonos completamente renovados y relajados. ¡Definitivamente volveremos!

I am not a vegan, but I have always enjoyed their red velvet with long black coffee. I have been to many coffee shops across the globe, but this place has been the best one in town. The fact that it is vegan, my colleagues that are vegan would always talk about how it is amazing for just about anyone who loves coffee. Both shops are great and would highly recommend such aesthetic place and well-trained baristas. Please visit! I moved abroad but I still recommend my mates in Chester to visit jaunty goat!

Great coffee without doubt, friendly and professional staff. Very cute and fresh venue. I felt like a weird constant vibration coming from the floor that made me feel sort of not wanting to stay there too long!

I was told the cinnamon bun is the most popular and I was not dissapointed! It came warmed up and it was AMAZING. We also tried the lemon poppyseed cake, which was also nice. Customer service 5 stars, cakes and coffee also 5*. Thank you!
