Only stopped by for breakfast but absolutely loved the place, a definite working farm and the staff were really friendly. The food was delicious and it's easy to see why booking is recommended. Fortunately we were early and managed to get a table. The breakfast was delicious and it was easy to tell all the produce was fresh. Can't wait to visit again.

Thoroughly enjoyed feeding and interaction with the animals. Loved the buckets of fresh food you could hand feed them with (apart from some, clearly signed, who were in different diets). Well priced selection of plants for sale, farm shop which was also sensibly priced. Unfortunately we missed the Cafe by a few minutes, a shame as it looked very nice. Not a big place, but friendly animals & staff.

We went with daughter and and granddaughter. It was very nice especially as there were 12 little piglets there. Not a lot of animals but very nice. There is also a shop and a juice cafe. It is split into two areas, one to accommodate under 10 children with parents and the other for over 10 with parents.

Feeding the animals was fun, however they were kept in quiet small areas. In addition to this the water for many of these animals was completely brown and there was very little of it.

The garden center is not just garden center, it has cafe, farm shop and animals to view/feed My children love visiting, there is old tractor to play on and animals to see (cows, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, golden pheasant and even chip munks) And best of all it's free. If you have a hour to spare def worth a visit

I wouldn’t usually post a review on here, but following a recent visit to James’s Coffee Shop at Lane’s Garden Centre, I feel I must warn other potential customers of the attitude of this alleged ‘businessman’.My friend & I decided to visit the place as part of my son’s 3rd birthday celebrations & initially, we ate at this premise & admittedly, the food was nice, if not a little over priced, especially the children’s menu.We then proceeded to go & feed the animals which was lovely, something both our boys enjoyed. So at this point, we were having a nice day.Towards the end of our visit, just after 3pm or thereabouts, my friend then suggested we all get an ice cream which we did & as there is NO OTHER SEATING ANYWHERE, we proceeded to head back to James’s cafe & sit on the benches there. I hadn’t even sat down when he came out to us & told me that we shouldn’t be sitting there. His manner & attitude from the off was absolutely disgusting, he was so rude!! I was actually quite shocked & taken aback about how he spoke to me. He then had the cheek to say that as they were closing anyway, he would ‘let us stay’!!!! I thought if they had been closing anyway, why make an issue of it???? There were only 2 other ladies there & a load of empty tables. Those ladies didn’t look at all impressed either. Plus, he said that he was aware that we had been there earlier so again, he would ‘let us stay’....how very big of him! Was he planning on throwing us out with our kids???? Wonder if he was also aware that I had done his job for him by clearing our table when we had eaten there earlier. I’m a big believer of ‘it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it’ & this man could learn a lot from this. He then felt the need to point out that it says it on every table at which point I noticed a note on the table pointing out that this seating was only for his paying customers. I find this ridiculous given that this is all one premises & the vast majority of customers would no doubt feel the same. He also stated that they are separate businesses, but this really isn’t my problem. I hadn’t even noticed the note on the table as our kids were keeping us very pre-occupied!Had he spoken to us, his paying customers with politeness & courtesy, then I wouldn’t be writing this, but he was rude, borderline aggressive & all this in front of our kids & those other 2 ladies!!!! I was seething, but in one respect, thankful that my son was there as I was able to remain totally calm, but I was boiling inside. The other 2 ladies looked quite shocked after hearing how he spoke to me too & I tried to laugh it off there with our kids being present. Maybe that’s why he felt so brave????I have previously read another review on here which said similar things about this man, but I thought I wouldn’t listen to other people, I would make up my own mind. Well, the other review was absolutely spot on.I have worked in customer facing roles for almost 30 years & have NEVER spoken to anyone with such disrespect & sheer rudeness. Such an unpleasant & very unprofessional man.I certainly will NOT be returning to this premise to line his pockets, nor will my friend. Not a good impression on a first visit at all.

Had a meal here because the normal pub we use was closed for refurbishment. The staff were really friendly and helpful. However the food was expensive for the quality. The only good thing was the food was warm, only just though. Husband had a steak, he said the steak was OK but the chips weren't nice. I had a lasagne which was £10.99 It looked like a cheap shop bought one with cheese grilled on the top. I paid extra for chips as I don't like garlic bread. Chips were only just warm. I spoke to a member of staff about the quality. She said that my comments would be passed on. We will not be returning.

Table booked for 2 of us at 7pm. Chef was off sick so the kitchen was closed. Nobody thought to contact us to save us the 1 hour drive to get there. The booking was in their diary (the guy showed us it), the boss was called and didn't answer. A complete and utter waste of time.

This pub was brought back from the brink a few years ago now and the landlord has turned into a lively pub that is close to packed on Friday and Saturday eveningsI don't know whether complacency is setting in or something else but there is no choice of draught dark beers. The only thing that comes close is Doom Bar but that is so badly kept it is undrinkable. No one seems to care - the punters keep rolling in drinking lager and pale beers so why should anyone bother?A real shame
