Jaks Kings Road in Kensington and Chelsea

I went to Jak’s a few times before the pandemic and enjoyed it. However, I went there for dinner with my friends and emailed them about going to the club afterwards. The dinner was ok. Very buzzy but the service wasn’t great. After dinner we wanted to go to the dance floor, as specified in my email to Jak’s, but you could only go on the dance floor if you booked a table (they’ve changed policies since the pandemic apparently). Obviously it was massively frustrating and I wouldn’t have gone to Jak’s if I had known this. Therefore, I’d only go to Jak’s if you want to have overpriced drinks and stand in a cramped bar with no seats 👎

We visited on the weekend and it was just fantastic. Lovely ambiance, delicious food and drinks. We were recommended several dishes which did not disappoint; well presented and fresh. Loved the Grilled King Prawns, Grilled Sea Bass Fillet with Roast potatoes and Grilled vegetables. We shared a Pizza Margarita, best pizza I have ever had. They have beautiful and presentable cocktails. We paired our food with Jak’s Revolution. And not to mention the great music. I don’t normally leave reviews, but this time I had to. Highly recommend!!!

I cannot tell you how excited I was to go out for a meal with my housemates following a grueling lockdown 2.0. We decided to treat ourselves to a slap up dinner on the Kings Road at Jaks bar to celebrate being set free. Let me tell you, I already miss being confined to my own cooking. I was amazed to see a £22 beef burger on the menu, I pictured grass-fed wagyu, generous lashings of bacon, organic non-pasturised cheese and all the trimmings at that price. What I received fell worryingly short of the mark. I couldn't help but be concerned by the overwhelming flatness of said burger upon arrival, however I dived in anyway - overexcitement and anticipation getting the better of me. The first sensation that met my eager taste buds can only be described as the texture of a wet dishcloth. On closer inspection, this was the sweaty slabs of sponge pretending to be a bun. This was about as good as it got, as this moist mouthful went swiftly downhill. Next on the agenda was the sliced, chilled (maybe semi frozen?) tomato that managed to keep none of the taste but all of the fur that it had before it was frozen. Swiftly on to the main event - the patty. Notably similar in bite to the spongey bread imposter, still steaming slightly from the microwave. If I were to be hypercritical I think it could have done with an extra 4 or 5 seconds on 900 Watts. It reminded me slightly of those Rustlers burgers, you know the ones - Zero to Tasty in 90 seconds. The single difference being those awful things were actually not that bad. Albeit a tad better better value at £1.50 from t' Co-Op. Elsewhere, the bacon must have been furloughed, and the cheese had mostly evaporated in the microwave. 'All the trimmings' turned out to be chips and a broccoli/green bean medley. The chips were the dishes saving grace, as they were quite average. The broccoli must have been on the boil since lockdown 1.0 but these things happen. Aside from this the beers were cold, and service was efficient. In conclusion, if you're considering a visit, do yourself a favour and microwave your own burger before arrival - this way you'll only be mildly dissapointed.

Absolutely appalling ordered a pizza with friends and it came with bite marks, cold and hair inside. Please do not order.

I suggest everyone in the Kings Road Design district area to have their lunch at Jak's. The food is excellent, freshly cooked every day by a fantastic team of cooks. The selection of dishes is very wide, covering all range of tastes. A particular mention to the great waiters team who are extremely kind, efficient and helpful!

Poor organisation of table service and customer service. Patronising comments from 2 separate wait staff about our orders,and an awful attitude to being given feedback about our disappointing experience. Will not be visiting again, and Jak’s would do well to train their staff on basic customer service and courtesy.

For the price, it's not worth it. The chicken is pretty dry because it's left out all day under the hot lights and the service is fairly awful. The decor is very cool, but that's about all it's got going for it.

Half the table of 7 were served food and another half had to wait 25min to be served despite few reminders and complains. Tuna and halibot were well over cooked and were simmering in the tray. Red Meat was the same, more boiled than roasted. Their cocktails were below standard, porn star martini was a watered down version of it saving up on passion fruit puree. A very simple apology was offered by the waiteress and that is all. Atmosphere was decent but food has been a disappointment every time and quality of drinks regressing at every visit.

Only 10 minutes from the Bridge and you can always get a table and be served well in advance of the match starting. Food is excellent and the service very good in comfortable surrounding which are starting to get a little tired.

About a group of 20 of us went to Jaks for a Xmas meal . place was clearly overbooked and the service was shocking. Had to get our own drinks , no water provided and food just as poor , cold and generally inedible and way over priced . Managed to get service charge taken off the bill after a bit of a debate .

Having eaten here before and loved it ,we made an advance booking for 8.30 on 30th December for 11 people.We had to give a £200 deposit and was told they were closing at 11pm that night. We arrived at 8-45 to a completely empty restaurant and were asked to order quickly as the kitchen was closing at 9.30. Our starters were served and our mains at the same time!!! We were then told the restaurant was closing at 9.30!?!? The waitress was very nice and we felt sorry for her.We ended up not eating our starters because the mains were getting cold.We queried why they took the booking in the first place and gave incorrect information and why we weren’t told this before we ordered but got no satisfactory explanation from the manager.

I’ve been a few times for dinner and other times on weekend nights for drinks - every time the service has been amazing and the food is delicious, just like all the other Jaks venues! Last week I went with a large group of friends for my birthday and the DJ & atmosphere were perfect. I will be visiting many more times in the future :)

What's not to love, jaks always hits the mark, we come here often and will continue to do so, great experience.

Massive down stairs bar come restaurant with good food menu. My problem is that in an establishment of this size does not cater for real ale/bitter drinkers, not even a token bottle.

Booked table at Jak’s for a work event for about 20 people. Such a great venue for an informal, fun and ‘let your hair down’ night. Staff were really attentive, nothing was a trauma even when dealing with such a big group with many nationalities. Food was great and lots of choices to cater for everyone. And reasonable. After dinner drinks and dancing enjoyed by everyone. Would recommend.

I can’t really get my head around this weird bar-restaurant concept in the bowels of one of the antiques buildings off Lotts Rd & Kings Rd. The interior design is entirely random - a mixture of warehouse chic, industrial garbage and hipster cliché. There’s a better separate lounge area with a big screen for the football but the main dining area is just OTT. The beer is unbelievably expensive - £14 for two pints of Peroni. This place just isn’t special enough to warrant a return at these prices.

Pros - friendly staff, tables available all night (don’t just get a two hour slot like some other places), great vegan and veggie options, singer and music all night! Cons - single rum and coke 12 pound! Best to go for the wine....

Went here for lunch and loved the setting and there is plenty of room so not squashed together, a very quirky place and nice environment.

Really impressed... Only popped in for a takeaway coffee and was greeted by three different friendly front of house staff, good vibes from the live jazz playing, and top coffee. Very impressed indeed.

I've always had a great time at Jak's whether there for drinks or dinner. Weekend nights can be busy but still pretty comfortable. I recently took the kids to dinner on Sunday night and found it to be quiet and enjoyable in a whole new way. Food is always good and service pleasant.

Simply banging. I had high hopes coming here - I hadn’t set foot since the place was an infamous nightclub. They’ve tweaked the environment perfectly, the Groups I was surrounded with were startling good looking, we felt at home. Bravo Jak’s. smashed it.

Todos tuvimos diferentes platos de la gran variedad de comida. Aunque tenía una cocina estilo buffet y llegamos a las 21:00 en un domingo que creo que toda esa comida no te gusto como fresco, pero todo era muy fresco y delicioso! Always a delight to re-visit Jaks when in the area. Always friendly staff and great service. Great to watch a football match on the big screen, on a comfy sofa and enjoying excellent food and drink. Spacious and with a great ambience. Love it!

Omgoosh! Jak’s was amazing!! We were just looking for a place to have dinner and listen to live music... little did we know that we would find a gem! It was fantastic... amazing food, great music. We were a little under dressed after a day of sight seeing but no one seemed to care but us. The staff was awesome. I can’t say enough about the place we truly stumbled upon! My son got the Rib Eye and he said that it ruined him from ever having another steak. The pizza and spaghetti were also soooo good! We may go back again tomorrow night!

Enjoyed my evening at Jak’s. There was live music and an excellent bar area with plenty of space. There is a separate dining area that naturally blends in and features some nice sofas and even a fruit truck! The food serving is also open until late. Ordered a pizza around 11pm and it was delicious.

Busy or slow, this place is always a gem and a must visit when in London. Fridays and Saturdays often have live music. Always a movie playing on the huge projector screen, super cool trendy place

Jaks is not a great place to go for an intimate lunch/dinner but is not such a bad choice for large parties in a casual atmosphere. There is a spacious clubbing area opening around 10pm offering a relaxed and safe party opportunity.

After an amazing first visit, I decided to give it a go another time for my best friend’s birthday. Booked an early table at the restaurant and another one at the bar later and i was impressed by the service and quality of food i must say that if you would like to be treated for something to remember for a long time then this is a write place to go love this place thanx to all the staff for giving the attention and definitely go back and back agin and I recommend to all of my friends and I can t wait to come again!!!

Forget the classic restaurant, jak’s is a mix of different place...bar, restaurant, music are the words!

The venue is quite cool and the food is nice enough. But the positives end there. The tables are so close together that the waiters can’t even get to many of the covers, for a restaurant it is incredibly loud, and worst of all is the service. It was frankly shocking. When we approached the manager about the poor service we received he said “so?”. How unbelievably rude. How he has risen to management has me utterly bamboozled as he is the most unsuited person I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. He is rude, arrogant, unhelpful, and awful with people. I wouldn’t go back to Jak’s if they paid me, and I’d advise everyone else to avoid like the plague.

1. Party of 14 got given 5 food menus to share after waiting for the menus for 30mins2. We were told that we can only order pizza or pasta, (“great”for the three vegans on our table)3. When we asked what vegan mains we could have we got a dumbfound waitress asking us “what is veganism”4. Got the wrong drinks delivered, got the wrong food too5. 4 of our guests got their food delivered after the rest of us finished eating6. Food was very average7. Asked to speak to the manager and were told that we had to get up and go see him as he wouldn’t come to our table8. After all this, we didn’t even receive an apology and were told that he will not apply any discounts and that he will take off the optional service charge of our bill instead.... which isn’t fair on the one waiter who tried to fix the mistakes of the previous waitressAVOID THIS PLACE

He estado aquí por la noche antes, pero recientemente fui para una comida de cumpleaños, amigos. El servicio era muy lento, teníamos que esperar años para pedir una copa luego esperar incluso más tiempo para que realmente llegue a la mesa, luego tuve que encontrar un camarero para preguntarle si podíamos pedir comida y nos dijo que no era necesario y servicio de mesa para ir al buffet para pedir comida, luego 2 minutos más tarde y la camarera vino a llevarse todos nuestros pedidos que realmente no sube. Pedimos la comida y era muy inexpresivo, al final de la comida la cuenta vino y me emocionó por lo que era! La comida es un precio razonable, pero las bebidas son exorbitantes. Después nos trasladamos a la mesa del bar y cuando alguien preguntó si podían poner sus cosas en la habitación vestido nos dijeron que la habitación vestido estaba lleno. . . . . Fue en general no la mejor experiencia y no pensaré volver allí por un tiempo.

Possibly the worse but most expensive pizza I've ever eaten. How you can cock-up a pizza I don't know! The 'olive oil' tasted off and I suspect it was cheaper vegetable oil. Overall, an unpleasant experience.

I have gone to Jaks many times including the one near Knightsbridge. But the kings road jaks is huge and has a very diverse number of meals to pick from and you can never go wrong with the tuna steak! It is a very retro hip place to eat and party too if you wanted on a more mellow mature path. After 12am everyone tends to go Zefi for an hour or so. If you are visiting or like a good meal with a great atmosphere you would not be disappointed going here
