Went for lunch Friday 15 March. Waiters courteous. Very disappointing meal. I chose chicken pathia. Have had this many times in umpteen Indian restaurants so I know what it should be like and always enjoy this curry. Not this time! This version was something in a thick raspberry coloured sauce with 4 or 5 small cubes of chicken. Had to be returned to kitchen as it was barely tepid. Meal came back marginally warmer. No flavour. Grim curry. Won't be going back there!!

This is our favourite lunch curry and we have never had cause for complaint. Good value, tasty food and friendly service. We are going tomorrow 👍

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our meal recently. We booked a table for 3 on Sunday 3rd March, all of us found the 3 different main courses rather bland compared to other curries we have had. The prawn starter at £11 was a shocker when only 2 small king prawns came out with some salad dressing. Atmosphere great and staff very polite. seemed expensive for what it was, we wont be going back or recommending.

For sumptuous and flavorful Indian food, you could hardly do better than here, and the prices are so reasonable. The light soup, tinged with a distinct lemon flavour, provided a pleasant starter course, and the lamb curry provided such a burst of rich delight. One can easily discern that this place uses the best and freshest ingredients: the lamb chunks are moist and hefty, and the seasoning has a wild vitality to it. Best of all, perhaps, is the enormous swath of naan provided: I've never seen such a large chunk of it in my life. The atmosphere is soothing and serene, perfectly befitting an Indian restaurant, but the food is the primary draw. Come here if you want some of the best Indian food in Fife!

Literally the best food in st Andrews. Wonderful and friendly staff. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. Do not skip this place. (especially if you're tired of plain British food)

Amazing food, tasty and well presented. Naan bread really light too, always a good sign. We'll be back next year!

Very decent "home-style" lamb curry on the bone.

Food was alright. The employees have a kind of an attitude prolly only to Indians. The food is costlier too.

Visited for lunch yesterday. Central location. Spotlessly clean restaurant and bathrooms. Excellent choice from lunch menus. Reasonable prices and customer service first class. Highly recommend.

Six of us attended on Saturday night, our reserved table was for 19:45 and was available when we arrived even though it was very busy. The service from start to finish was first class only surpassed by the quality of the meal. Clean plates all round!!

Food was excellent and quick, but there was crimson dried blood or coca cola stains ( spray) all over a painting on the wall overlooking our table. Tight fit on the covers. Disconcerting when you dont know what the staining is, put me off our meal . Made the manager aware, he didn't seem that interested. If you are in, check this before eating here. Had an excellent meal here last night! Food was fantastic, service was quick and staff were very friendly. Restaurant was very busy but that didn’t affect the service or food. Will definitely be back and would recommend to others.

Staff very professional and welcoming. Meal was perfectly prepared and delicious. Amenities and restaurant was clean and looked as though they had been newly decorated.

Good Indian restaurant in St Andrews.

Garlic king prawns only 2.. for that price you would expect 3 at a minimum. Poppadum's were chewy like they had been left out over night. Chicken tikka was full of heat, not what I was expected, leading to having no taste in my mouth, so in the end had to throw it away as couldn’t eat it Very disappointed will not be going back there when I’m back in St Andrews.

Good place. Booked a table but they told me the student menu (at that time ; which isn't available now) was not available for in-person dining since it's easter (something they hadn't mentioned on the website). Was forced to get take-out and ruin my reservation :( Good food otherwise. Staff feels like they're always in a rush and want you out of there asap to get more service (even on the phone).

Very loud the night we were in there were children running around there parents oblivious to what they were doing specially when there is hot food being served one waiter had to step over a child while carrying hot plates and dishes of sizzling hot food.

We had a reservation for 7, made through The Fork. We accidentally showed up an hour early, but the owner was very gracious and showed us to our table. The food was very good—I’m a tough critic as I eat Indian food at least one per week—with the lamb korma, the saag paneer, the chicken tikka masala and the naans standing out. We didn’t try any deserts, as the portions were very generous and we were all full. A special note about the wonderful service—attentive, helpful and positive. The owner ran out in the street after one of us left their scarf by the table. We’ll be back soon!

The food i was not bad.But the staffs,the worst !! They don’t know how to behave!!don’t even smile at a customer! They are thinking that they are giving all the foods for free !!🤮🤮

Had a takeaway from this restaurant whilst visiting Scotland. I have to say this is the worst curry I have ever had. Very strange sauces, no real flavour just heat. Have had bad stomach issues since. Would not recommend.

The food & service was first class. Possibly the best North Indian Garlic Chicken I’ve ever had. All staff were professional. Very attentive but not in a way that bothers you by interrupting your meal constantly. Would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. Booking essential as very busy.

Robust curry and great service, number 1

Vi bestemte oss spontant for å spise lunsj og de serverte 3-retters til god pris. Vi bestilte fire ulike forretter og alle var like gode. Til hovedrett bestilte vi blant annet chicken tikka masala, denne smakte dessverre ikke helt til forventningene, men nanbrødene var derimot noen av de beste vi har smakt.

The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, on first impressions. However, the noise was intense like a factory canteen. The seating is cramped and the overpacked restaurant, creates a claustrophobic overheated environment. People were shouting over one another in an ever increasing frenzied manner, large groups of male diners creating most of the noise. This certainly wouldn’t be somewhere you would go for a romantic dinner date on a Saturday evening.This should have been quelled by the arrival of the food, which was less than impressive. Bland tasteless was the consensus of the six of us having dinner. We wouldn’t ever contemplate a return visit to this restaurant…… worth missing, is the best advice.

I visit here from Australia every year or so and as I'm from Scotland I miss that special UK style Indian food. This is one of the places I go to and its always incredibly good.

Was given enough rice for a 5 year old child and had the thali which was awful flavour. There would be more flavour in a ready meal curry from aldi. Would not recommend

Our recent experience at this curry house was undeniably disappointing. It began with chewy poppadoms that failed to set a good first impression. Unfortunately, the disappointment continued with the main dishes. The chicken tikka masala was dreadful, lacking seasoning and having a watery consistency. The Lahore tikka was equally unimpressive, with a bland taste and clumpy texture. Regrettably, this was the worst Indian meal my party and I have ever had. However, amidst the culinary letdown, there was a silver lining - the chicken pakora. It stood out as the sole redeeming factor, offering a satisfying flavour and texture compared to the rest of the dishes. Overall, our dining experience here was far from what we had hoped for. The lack of seasoning, consistency issues, and underwhelming flavours left us unsatisfied. Sadly, we won't be returning to this restaurant, and I cannot recommend it to others seeking a quality Indian meal.

Very tasty chicken tikka and lamb kebab, dresh salad and Nan. Very nice food. Lovely people. You must book or do as I did. Order the carry out and go sit eating it looking at the beach!! Glorious. Remember also to use the bins with the rubbish!!

The food is sadly tasteless and ruined by way too much chilli. There’s no air conditioning and it’s way over priced.

I had the most amazing takeaway from Jahangir tonight. There was a time when there was two big Indian restaurants in St Andrews… that time has ended. The spicy poppadoms were slightly moist but everything else was 10/10. Also amazing chatt pat

Friday 5.30 pm, no reservation for 2 adults and 2 kids. Quickly seated in a busy restaurant and the service was GREAT! Patient and attentive staff with food served quickly, all important when dining with children. Also, there was a good recommendation on vegetarian dish and on ordering a half portion for one of the children. Food was excellent. Highly recommend 👌🏽

Have used quite a few times since moving to St Andrews. Great food and great service for both dine in and take out. I need to limit my visits or my waistline will suffer the consequences.

Disappointed with curry- had chicken jalfreezi, felt like it had been watered down, maybe as I asked for medium not hot? Never seen such pale coloured jalfreezi before. Partner had chicken tikka, only 5 small pieces chicken, both agreed sauce had no flavour at all. Peshwari naan was exceptionally good. Tarka Dahl way too salty, saag paneer was good.

Hunger und keine Tischreservierung. Das kann problematisch werden. Hier aber wurden wir zunächst freundlich begrüßt und das Problem pragmatisch gelöst. Geht nebenan was trinken und kommt in einer halben Stunde zurück, dann kriegt ihr einen Tisch. So geschah es und wir haben eine wunderbaren Abend mit hervorragendem indischen Essen verbracht. Sowohl die Vorspeisen als auch die Hauptgerichte waren einzigartig! Die Preise waren gemäßigt, der Service dagegen überproportional gut aber nicht aufdringlich. Toll! Ein kleiner (durchaus geschmackvoller) Scherz des Restaurants: es gibt Haggis Pakora! Ein Restaurant, das man weiterempfehlen muss.

Fantastic (British style) Indian food, pretty much as good as it gets. Only down side is that the actual restaurant is quite cramped and tables are very close together, this leads to a lot of cross conversation between tables.

Fantastic Indian restaurant in the heart of St Andrews. Was surprisingly lively and boisterous for a Tuesday night in August. Food was amazing with the best peshwari naan I'd tasted. Service was excellent and applaud the waiters for their attentiveness. Definitely worth a visit. Oh and a rather unique feature, is a see through indoor bridge over water. Highly recommended

We are booked table for 6 people ( included baby) but our friend could not make it 1 person manager wasn't happy but we're spended nearly £200 pounds in there until near the end my husband asked for desert menu and he really wanted dessert,manager told us we are got 10 minutes to eat dessert because they need the table for the other understandable but why don't he tell us sooner he said we are having food long enough in there restaurant for 2 hours so if you are wanting desserts they'll served us but we're have only not even 10 minutes after him & my husband small argued so we decided to not have desserts & asked for bill then leave never go back there again & will advice our friends don't go there too because the way happened the manager is not very nice the way he treated us the rest of staff are okay

Decent little restaurant in St Andrews. Better than namesake in Dundee. Good choice and the lunch menu gives value for money. Also pleasant setting and friendly service. Some of the curries/options a bit lacking in taste, but overall worth a visit.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant- amazing customer service, friendly staff, very accommodating for a large party walking in and all dishes were excellent! Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed it so much the last time, thought we would return, as they do an excellent lunch menu Food was amazing, so fresh and very tasty Reasonable priced.

2nd time visiting here for lunch and it was excellent again. Lunch menu is great value for money and has something on it for everyone and are happy to make dishes hotter too. Food was delicious, very fresh and cooked to perfection. Staff were again, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Only complaint,  £6.95 for a medium sized glass of house wine, I thought was a bit pricey. Indian beer on draught is better value and I'll opt for that next time.

I live in the sates now and unfortunately there are no good Indian restaurants (on the west coast anyway) so whenever I’m back in blighty I always search out a good curry. Didn’t do much research on Jahangir before visiting, just a few pints of beer and the call of the curry came. Jahangir did not disappoint. Service was excellent, the food delicious and unique, the classics plus some never heard of before specials. The seafood biriani was to die for. Will come back next time I’m in town for sure. Highly recommended

Food was beautiful and the service was great. I'm vegetarian and my husband is not, but there was plenty of choice for us both. Would definitely go back.

A must visit restaurant in St. Andrews. Zulfi provides an exceptional service, excellent food and wines. I recommend highly.

First time here (but not the last). Booked for 4 and we were all very surprised that it was absolutely "bouncing". Almost full for a Thursday night at 8:00pm. The service was excellent and we did not have to wait long from the initial poppadoms and sauces to our first courses. The food was hot and at the right temperature expected for what we had. The place remained busy as more people came in later. Advise booking ahead.

We had a beautiful meal here after a recommendation from a friend. Service was excellent. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, always smiling and can’t do enough for you. We had butter chicken and a sizzling seafood platter as well as rice and garlic Nan between two of us and it was absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Portion sizes were generous too. Lovely interior with an underfloor fish tank feature. Beautiful little restaurant and highly recommended. If you enjoy Indian food as we do then don’t miss this one. Centrally situated on South Street. Easy walking distance to everything in St Andrews. Will definitely return.

Hands down, one of the best Indian places I've tried. An impressive variety of dishes that goes far beyond the standard British-Indian menu, and truly delicious. Lahori speciality curry well recommended, and so are the huge naans. Excellent, professional service too, and the food was served quickly despite the place being crammed.

Had their two course lunch. Reasonably priced good food, with decent quantity and quality. Their Naans are massive and yummy!

The first thing you notice when you sit down is the the food choices on the menu. They have just about everything you could want. Service and food was excellent. Just one question. Why in the UK do they call everything a curry.

Noisy restaurant. I joined two colleagues who had already finished their main course and I ate a desert and drank a cup of coffee. The ice cream with strawberries contained one strawberry, solidly frozen. Espresso was not available, and the ordinary black coffee was of a quality unthinkable outside the UK.

My friends and I returned to St Andrews for Alumni weekend and booked here on the strength of the Trip Advisor rating. We were not disappointed; food was first rate with exemplary service. We would definitely return.

Food was amazing. Watch out for the glass topped fish tank inset to the floor, when you are going to the toilet. Certainly good fun watching others trying to navigate it.

Brill dinner as always highly recomened

We were a bit late to the restuarant for our reservation but still arrived at 9.15pm which we thought wasn't too bad. However we did feel quite rushed and didn't think the food was that great. Not bad value for money but not sure we would rush back!

First visit back for a few years. The menu is even more wide and varied, the food delicious and the service was friendly and like clockwork.

Lovely restaurant. Kids really liked the water feature! The food was very nice, and the king prawns were outrageous! Biggest ive ever seen. Staff were lovely and attentive without being intrusive. The pre-theatre menu was well priced, and portion size was pretty much spot on. A very decent kids menu, but the only mark off is the quality of the kids chicken nuggets, they weren't great, but clearly not why we went there!

We arrived as a party of four. Immediately upon entering felt taken aback by both the sheer number of staff at the reception area as well as the aggressive introduction by the staff member who approached us. Food was nice but prices were high and portions were small. Man who took our order was abrupt and impatient. Overall, quite an unpleasant experience and unlikely to return.

We were a large party, 21 of us for lunch. Lunch was good, not huge, but adiquate. Three courses from the set menu's, and we are all of them. Keeping in mind this was lunch, we were all very happy. Children age 7, teens and adults. Not bad going.

Very popular Indian restaurant in St Andrews always busy at lunch time where they have a choice of three different lunchtime menus at three different price ranges. The food was good and .so was the service With friendly staff . Great place to have lunch in a town that has a .very large choice of venues to eat. .lunch and have a drink but some how we always come to this restaurant which is sensible priced and the food is good . Plenty of photos of golfing celebrities and TV stars who visit the restaurant regularly as well
