working a sunday nightshift and needed some food never tried this fish and chip shop although heard good reviews and i have got to say absolutely brilliant ordered a large cod and it was a large cod and small chips but more like large portion tasted absoluely beautiful and cant wait to go back again

Excellent take away food! We ordered via Uber Eats, but were delighted with what we received . Personally I have always ordered fish from fish and chip shops (minus the batter as I prefer ‘naked’) and was so pleased that I could order ‘grilled’! Portions were generous.. very happy customers .

We ordered Plaice which was dry (even though freshly cooked) and excessive blackened skin under it, sausage in Batter which was dry and looked like it had been there all day, tasteless. The chips were dry and also seemed to have been around for several hours. This is our nearest Fish and Chip shop. We will not be back.

We love eating here on a Friday evening. The restaurant is usually busy but does not affect the service. The food is always served fresh. Highly recommend.

Went here tonight and absolutely loved it. I had my laptop out initially as I had to crack on with some work and there was no pressure at all. When I did order, I got large cod, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce with 2 slices of bread and butter. It was truly stunning and I will absolutely be back!

I was very interested with their burger after reading a 5* review. Unfortunately that gave me a high expectations. Still good burger, but nothing special

We always have a good dinner from here and it is our go to for fish & chips. It’s great that it delivers also. Although I would like more cheese on the cheesy chips! 😂

We have eaten in the restaurant and had take away, the food is excellent freshly cooked. The service is also great, the staff are extremely nice and helpful, polite & friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you want fish and chips.

I always use this restaurant as the food is consistently good quality. Staff are friendly and efficient and the food is always pipeing hot. I have never had an issue when ordering online or in person, even when I change the order at the last minute. Very professional and polite. I have tried other restaurants in the area but none match up to this one

I have been dining at this restaurant many times over the past two years. The food has consistently been very good and the staff friendly and efficient. The prices are good particularly for soft drinks and puddings

We visited today for the first time since lockdown and were pleasantly surprised. The Covid protection is good, so felt very relaxed. We had the haddock and chips and it was really well cooked and tasty. The first meal that I haven't had to cook for over 6 months, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and efficient. We are going back again!!

After a long walk , I was feeling hungry and didn’t know what I fancied. Came upon two brother shop with a big poster lunch time special fish and chip .so I thought why not try it. Had to wait about 10mins for it to be cooked. Got it home, It was the Best fish and chips with curry sauce I had tasted for a very long time. My children had a bit and even they said it was the Best. I will certainly be back for more

Visited this chip shop and ordered 2x cod and chips during one lunchtime.Unfortunately the fish was very oily, I lightly pressed my fork on the fish batter and it was saturated with it. Not nice and severely affected the taste.I took the batter off the fish but it still tasted oily.I expected the batter to be dry so not to affect the taste of it or the fish.The chips was ok, they just need to improve on the fish being a lot less oily!!It’s a shame as when this chip shop was called Jacks, it was really really good!

It was my wife's birthday yesterday, and her simple request was for fish and chips. I ordered a cod, a haddock, and a beef and onion pie - all with chips. I was told it would be a 5 minute wait as the fish is cooked to order. Fantastic i thought. I went away and came back 5 minutes later, and collected my order. Once home both fish were cooked perfectly and tasted beautiful, along with the pie. The chips on the other hand were stone cold and we couldn't eat them, which spoilt the experience. I'm not after any refund or replacement meal. Just simply advising that if a fish and chip shop can't serve hot chips there must be an issue. I won't be going back.

I absolutely would not review this place at all. The owner is vile and spoke to me in the most disgusting way imaginable. The words, the shouting and the rude hand gestures have left me absolutely shaken to my core. I have never ever had anyone speak to me the way I was spoken to by the owner of the business over a question I asked regarding the food. I was told ‘it’s a fish and chips, what the f*** do you expect we serve here.’ I tried to ask the owner not to speak to me that way, but I was met with even more foul language and when I tried to leave, I was blocked by another member of staff where the owner said ‘ I haven’t finished talking to you and you haven’t finished your order.’ On top of this, the wait is ridiculous! I was told the food would be ready within 15 minutes, an hour later I am still waiting! Ironically, by the time my food had been given to me, it was cold and when I tried to speak to someone, the door was slammed in my face and I was told to ‘f off and never come back.’ I wasn’t able to eat the food, it was also dripping in oil as well as some of it being cold - I was not offered a refund or remake nor was I given an apology for the way I was treated. I wouldn’t even give a one star, but trip advisor states that at least one option is to be selected.

I pre ordered online selecting a specific time and then got an email saying it would be ready in half an hour, not what I'd requested. I called and sorted this, although the staff weren't overly polite. I then turned up at the requested time and had to queue for 40 minutes to get in to collect my order, and it wasn't even ready. If they're going to offer pre ordering then they should have a separate queue for this, otherwise what's the point? I explained this and the staff member said that wouldn't be fair on everyone else, which I don't agree with as it should be a quick collection which is the whole point of ordering in advance. The numerous Uber Eats and Deliveroo drivers skipped the queue (causing the wait to be much longer) so what's the difference? The food was pleasant but the experience and lack of decent customer service put me off so I wont be returning.

I have takeaway fish & chips from 2 Brothers fairly regularly and it is consistently good quality, with light crisp batter, perfectly cooked and the word large means 'large'! I have tried their steak burger which was also very good.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over a year; sometimes once a week. The food is fantastic and the staff very pleasant. I’ve recently tried skinless cod and that has been great too. I’ve occasionally had rock salmon which is lovely

Two Brothers has a deservedly great reputation. Queues out the door for takeaway on a Friday. Fast an efficient restaurant, especially welcoming to young families and the retired.

We've been coming here for 4 years now and have never had a bad takeaway, be it fish and chips, burgers, chicken nuggets, savaloy, sausage etc. Brilliant service, excellent portion sizes, friendly staff. Thank you!!!

Just the right amount of food for everyone, not too many chips that make you feel guilty if you eat them, unappreciative if you leave them!

One of the few Fish and Chip shops with a sit own Restaurant along side. Excellent choice of dishes and sides, even serves deserts!! Great Customer service. You can bring your own alcohol too!!

My wife and I always pop in here after watching the football at Brentford. We have a long drive home and this is a perfect place to get a hot cup of tea and beautiful Fish and Chips. Haven't tasted better anywhere...! The staff are always cheerful, polite and very efficient.

Took my sons & met my friend with hers for end if term tea. I hadn't realised it had changed name/hands.We arrived at 4.30 but it doesn't open til 5 on a Thursday my own fault for not checking but when the doors did open there were about 6 people waiting always a good sign. We ate in the restaurant part. The waitress was very attentive & pleasant. The children's portions were large enough for the 12yr old.I have the veggie burger which was lovely there was also veggie sausages on the menu. My friend had fish which she loved and the children's meals came with a drink & they all enjoyed. Very reasonably priced,would definitely recommended.

16 of us sat down to celebrate a family birthday and had a great evening. Great range, quick service, fine fish and chips, topped off by really friendly service. Well worth a visit for eat-in or take-away

Probably the best fish and chips we've ever had and reasonably priced. We ordered the large cod which no one managed to finish due to the enormity. Service was slow but only due to the amount of people waiting which obviously can't be helped.

First time I’ve ever been. Ordered a plaice and chips to takeaway. Got home to tuck in and the fish had a cold bottom! Oddly enough, when they took the plaice out and called our order out I did say to my sister that seemed too quick to cook that plaice but I assumed the guy knew what he was doing although I reckon he was too concerned about the queue of people waiting so rushed the fish! The chips were really nice no issues there but really disappointed in the fish! Paid £5 for a fish i had to microwave and ate less than half of and threw away.

Just got a portion of chips from here and good quality chip shop chips with loads of salt and vinegar, only way to eat them.

We regularly pop in here and always enjoy our meal. Portions are very gernerous, good is always piping hot and freshly cooked. Quality meals and nice staff.

I love this place. We are regulars here for lunch and for £6 a head for cods, chips and drink, its excellent value for money. Food is always piping hot and service is fantastic.

Great chip shop that sells excellent chips, yum. Good sized portioned and these are what I call proper chips. I am afraid that's all I ordered.

This fish and chip shop is a brilliant local, I live in Bedfont which is about 10 minutes drive and I much prefer this than the local nearer to me. The fact that I'm willing to drive longer and further is a testament to quality and value of this shop.

a typical fish & chip resturant serving well cooked and served fayre. i had cod roe saveloy chips bread and butter witjh tea and it was lovely. a very busy shop a queue all the time we were there, always a good sign.

Best fish and chip shop around!!! Especially if you eat in. You can bring your own alcohol and the nice staff will open any beer bottles and supply wine or beer glasses. Staff are very friendly and the food is always served hot and very tasty.

Personally I think its the best fish & chips in Ashford. We use it almost every week. I have tried all the others but keep coming back to this one.

The last time we went to this place for a takeaway which was a month ago now will probably be the last for a while as when we got the food home tha sausage and sausage in battwer qere cold which spoilt the whole meal.

I had grilled haddock with spices and chips, all fresh and tasty. You must wait for your food some time, but it worth it. Unfortunately they not serve beers, but the Waitress told me you can bring your own (I'll next time).

I'm a fish lover. I tried fish & chips in Two Bothers Fish House first time in may 2017... and... I did NOT leave disappointed!!! Nice crispy butter, lovely real chips, friendly staff. You can bring your own wine, as well (I did :) ). Recommended!

I had cheeseburger, my Husband had cheeseburger with bacon. Both was amazing. Chips was cooked perfectly. Hmmm! We'll definitely come back!

Being a regular local user of the fish bar, I was really disappointed this evening with the quality of the food. I ordered a freshly cooked Plaice to takeaway which was covered in a tangled mass of over cooked batter, the fish inside was a couple of mouthfuls worth barely edible. I will give it one more try next time but if no improvement will go elsewhere. Never had this issue before so what has changed?

This place has improved since the refit the service has always been very good- Excellent but the food has improved as with the restaurant

The best first and chips that we have found around Heathrow airport. Always taste fresh both the fish and the chips.They have an attached restaurant if you want to stay and eat.

Jacks is in Ashford and is well know for good fish and chips although I have never eaten in I always take away there is always people eating in.Good value and a good portion

It's the only fish and chip shop in shepperton and the staff seem to take that for granted. Second time we've gone in, both times staff weren't friendly and food was below par. Chips and cod were not fresh and ended up throwing most of it away. Worth travelling a little further where most places cook fresh to order rather than serving stale old food.

We've had many takeaway fish and chips over the years and have found the quality to vary. Sometimes it has been good, but quite often the chips seem to be stale and the fish can be quite tasteless.

Fish and chips from here is always good, never had a bad meal from here. Would recommend anyone to get fish and chips from here. They also do curry sauce and their chips are nice. Had a lovely bit of cod the other day.

We visited here a few weeks back in late March / early April can't remember the exact date but we have only just got round to writing this review. I felt it was important I let others know and the outlet gets done feedback. We visited with my family and placed separate take away orders. We live locally but are not regulars at this outlet. The staff at the counter were pleasant and helpful. Other customers came and went and some of our family got served but we didn't. We stood there for 15 minutes without anyone saying anything until we asked...We eventually waited there for 1/2 an hour waiting and asked about our order twice. Our family waited in the car while thief food got cold!Eventually the staff at the counter managed to get the man at the frier to listen and asked him about our order. It became clear our order had been forgotten by the man at the frier (I think he was the manager/ owner as he barked orders at the staff at the front in a way that made me feel uncomfortable and the staff appear to nervously obey). The man at the frier was unapologetic and came across arrogant when it became clearer hadn't started cooking our order. My husband and I were offended by the way this man handled the situation and treated us. When we finally got our scampi and chips it was ok, average and but it certainly wasn't worth the wait. We don't mind paying higher prices for good food as my husband is a professional chef. Shame really but we won't be going back. I didn't like the way the staff at the front appeared bullied by this man ... Not nice to watch. We understand mistakes happen but it was the managers arrogant and 'So what! It's tough if you have been waiting ...' (His face also reflected his mood) attitude that really put us off.

Great fish and chip shop. Get plenty of chips per potion too! Lovely tasting fish. If I suggest one area of improvement the batter can sometimes be too greasy. But all in all a great British fish and chip shop!

Nice & clean chippy shop. Fresh fish though batter is normal. (This is a compliment because often you don't know what the ingredients of the batter & one wonders if it's too tasty!!) Overall very good.

Tuesday night tea , one rock and chips and one cod and chips 2 mugs of tes one Wally and a slice of bread.Friendly bloke on the till and fish cooked fresh plus proper chips to !Free tartar sauce was a nice touch.All under 20 quid in a clean canteen type environment.No complaints portion was enough service was friendly.Will be returning.

Have been going here for years. Although its changed hands, it's as good as ever, with prompt service and excellent food. Nice that you can take your own wine into the restaurant, and glasses are happily supplied.

Went to jacks Saturday afternoon with family.friendly staff and the food was heavenly...the most wonderful freshly cooked chips and the sausage in batter was by far the best I've ever had.definitely be going back....only downside no mustard lol

Had busy day yesterday,mother of 91 very poorly,and brother of 68 just out of hospital from major surgery .They live about 5 miles apart so I hade to rush from one to the other and didn't get chance to eat most of the day.On my way home I decided to call in at Jacks as it was 7.45 and didn't really want to start to cook so late and having such a hard day.I bought 2 cod and 1 chips it came to £10.55 and when I got it home it was terrible the chips had been warmed up,and the fish seemed as though it was off,it had a smell of imonia and was wet and soggy inside.I took one mouthful and spat it out there was nothing nice about it at all. Now you can imagin how mad I was at Jacks fish shop after I had the day from hell and now had to cook a meal.No sit down for me or rest that evening, I could heve easily wept.(Never Ever again) could not rate this place even as a 1,had to or the rating would not go through. Worst food in Ashford.

We have been eating here for 7 years both eating in and Take away. The kids meals are great value as they get as included in the price is a drink, a bag of sweets and a choc ice or ice lolly.

Jacks has been in Ashford for as long as I can remember, and it's always been worth a visit. The chips especially are good quality and the staff are nice and friendly. Easily the best fish and chips in Ashford. Would recommend!

We called into this place on the way back from Thorpe Park (not worth the money). The sign said something it being a famous chip shop.We walk in - I ask for a mince beef pie and chips - and was told they dont do those type of pies - only chicken and mushroom or steak and kidney. No problem then I'll have a chips with a carton of curry sauce - "sorry Sir - we dont do curry" , ok then you tell me what you do 'allow' - I eventually had fish and chips and the kids had a bag of chips. It came to over £12 - so I ask if I can pay by card - I should have known - we dont take cards - you'll have to pop over the road to M&S and get some cash back.And if you want to sit down and eat it's an extra 20% because of VAT. By this time - it becomes almost laughable - we get our food and eat in the car.The fish and chips were adequate at best.Tips for the owners - sell curry, sell mince beef pies, take cards - we werent the only people in the queue laughing at this - as we heard the lady serving repeating the same thing over and over again.Use it if you are desperate, dont want curry sauce or a mince beef pie and make sure you have cash and dont eat in - other than that - find another chippy - this place maybe famous - but for all the wrong reasons.
