Complete waste of money and utter disappointment. I don’t know how it’s possible to mess up a Scottish breakfast but this place achieved it… I asked for a full breakfast which only came with tea and the waitress would not swap this for a coffee, this was extra. Overall, overpriced and poor quality of food

Excellent food very friendly if your in moffet or just passing through give it a try we were staying on the camp site and called in for our breakfast every morning.

Amazing full Scottish breakfast! All cooked perfectly and such fresh food. Lovely friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and perfect service. Would recommend to everyone passing Moffat!! We will definitely come back here for another breakfast when we are back up north. Perfect visit!

Popped in for coffee n cake but the lure of a hot bowl of lentil soup was too much so had that as well ! Absolutely no complaints 👌 Staff asked us if everything was alright so the people who put negative reviews on here must've said their food was ok .These folk annoy me when they then go on and put negative reviews ! Just visit here and see for yourself .Trust me ,its great value and good food 👌

Green tea was very nice but the scone was delivered semi-frozen. Very disappointing. Would not visit again.

Stopped here for two full Scottish breakfasts which did the trick was clean freshly cooked quick and all very welcoming thx guys

My wife and I stopped at Moffat for lunch and found this cafe - what a gem! The food was great - this was our second visit in the space of a week, the staff were very friendly and helpful too. And one other thing they do that I heartily agree with - they only take cash, no card payments. As a matter of principle, I avoid any shop or restaurant that is card only.

I ordered a take away coffee with oat milk and I have to pay extra £1.60 because I asked to use oat milk. A total of £4.60 the lady charged me for buying a literally half cup of cappuccino. I’m totally robbed by these people. I’m a regular coffee drinker even costa never charged so much. Please be careful folks if you visit this place.

Visited here for breakfast today and I can see why it gets such great reviews. The staff were absolutely lovely - we had two toddlers with us and nothing was too much bother at all. Very family friendly and accommodating of children’s needs. The food was so lovely as was the cute decor. We will definitely be back and would 100% recommend a visit.

Visited the charming little town of Moffat.decided to go into Mutchies munchies cafe as it looked so vibrant and inviting.Very disappointed as the sausage was like a rubber ping pong ball and the dry tasteless roll was awful.coffee tasteless.total waste of money.Extremely poor quantity and overpriced.Definitely won’t be back.No excuse for this.

I visited Mutchies Munchies today and I can understand why it often gets five stars. The staff were brilliant, the meals were reasonably priced and the psyschedelic decor is unique. My dirty mac( macaroni, cheese, bacon and black pudding) was great value for just under £10 and there was no skimping on portions. Service was excellent from the young waitress and Australian lady on the till and they coped reallty well in the 28 degree heat. I shall be returning to Mutchies Munchies and fancy trying some of their cakes next time.

We stopped for lunch a couple of days ago & enjoyed it so we called again today. It was just as good. The staff are really friendly and took our order with a smile and in a pleasant manner. I had the fish finger burger which was delicious while my partner, who wasn’t very hungry, chose a croissant with home made jam. The jam was excellent as well. This is a really charming and jolly cafe with lovely staff and delicious cakes. It’s bright and full of artwork, I think it’s the nicest cafe in Moffat.

Mutchies Munchies is the new name for Jack and Rachel’s tearoom in Moffat. I don’t know if they have changed hands but it is still a very nice, smart cafe with excellent service and a good menu of meals, snacks, cakes etc.

We stopped for a bite at lunchtime. The bowl of pasta was just under £5, but soup and one bit of crusty baugette was over £6. The soup was good, but this seem like odd pricing even if the soup is home made and flavorsome and was served with a soup spoon - a rarity these days. .Staff were friendly and helped set up extra chairs to accommodate our group. They only take cash and I think the bill was rounded down to avoid the issue of handling coins. There is choice in Moffatt and next time I might try somewhere else.

Dog friendly, water offered for pup, they also made him up a dish of chicken and cheese on request. Food is fresh, good quality and the home made coleslaw was lovely. We both had omelette today and they were big and fluffy, the flat white coffee I had was nice and hot and strong. We visited for 3 days in a row and the standard was right up there. Travelling through Moffat on our way home from Glasgow we stopped to eat at this cafe. What a surprise! We got a lovely welcome, the food was delicious and really presented, hot and tasty, and extremely reasonably priced. We only had the "wee breakfast" which was more than ample! The menu changed after 11.30 and there was a terrific choice of both savoury and sweet items. Nothing was too much trouble and would certainly divert off the motorway to eat here again!!

We went here on a very rainy Thursday. The inside was cosy and I loved the rainbow theme. The waitress was welcoming and warm. We had cooked breakfasts, pancakes and milkshakes, which were all yummy. I also loved the artwork on the walls. We would definitely recommend this lovely little gem xx

Fantastic place to eat, very friendly staff and superb food. We ate here on a number of occasions during our stay in Moffat it is so good. Real home made food. Would recommend the soups and toastie deals served with home made coleslaw, dressed salads and crisps. All day breakfasts were a big hit with the boys and staff happy to substitute different items to make them even more delicious. A trip to Moffat would not be the same without a visit, highly recommend.

My husband and I love a drive to Moffat. We always stopped at the tearoom at the top of the High Street. It has changed hands since last summer. Good soups, a good range of salad and sandwiches, but for me their Quiche is always on my menu.Great selection of cakes, and I notice they serve people who don’t have time to sit in, Brightly decorated. Service very cosy and personal. Even if it’s cold outside, you get such a warm welcome. Definitely be back.

After completing any of the many walks around Moffat, or simply having done our shopping - we pop into Mutchies for a late breakfast. My hubby finds the wee breakfast (bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, black pudding or haggis, toast and tea just right. Me I love the coffee, and the scrambled eggs and haggis. Our dog is always made welcome and always gets a bowl of water too.

After a long walk around Moffat, we pop into this place for lunch. Really warm welcome from the staff. A lot to offer on the menu for lunch would definitely recommend this place.

We stopped for coffee and hot chocolate. Our children were delighted with a very indulgent hot chocolate (see photo) and we had a lovely coffee.

Family, gathering from "a the airts", had planned a walk at the Grey Mares Tail followed by lunch in Moffat. The rain led us to abandon the walk and seek warmth and shelter. Mutchies Munchies provided a welcoming haven for several hours during which we sampled a range of food and drink from their excellent menu, which easily catered for food allergies and intolerances. Thank you for your warm welcome. I HOPE we did not make too much noise! I will certainly be back to enjoy more of your tempting foods and drinks.

I had a fabulous breakfast at this tea room with gluten free sausage, gluten free haggis and gluten free black pudding.

We have walked past this place on several occasions and finally ventured in there yesterday and we were so glad we did. My friend and I went in first and were joined by our husbands later after they had been on the golf course. We had a very warm welcome, the coffee was fabulous, especially my spiced pumpkin latte, and our lunches were absolutely delicious. We had filled croissants which were lovely, so tasty and beautifully presented with a tasty side salad, crisps and coleslaw. My friend has numerous complex food allergies but they catered for her needs without fuss which she loved. We will definitely go there again and very soon!

Never been disappointed here. Have only had cakes and scones though. Decor/environment is not very upmarket but it is clean and welcoming. Big difference to next door - Hugo's where the decor is upmarket but the scones are stale and the staff are not interested in doing anything about it.

We started visiting this tea room in 1983 Making it our first stop on route to various parts of Scotland. We chose this tea room as they were dog friendly saving one of the family staying out side to look after our caverlirier King Charles spaniel. The gentleman who ran the coffee shop seem to remember us from year to year Our last visit as a family was in 2010 Heading north this year by public transport my train stopped at Lockerbie. So this enabled me to catch a local bus from Lockerbie to this lovely old town of Moffat After a good night In a local hotel I spent the morning walking around the shops which had not altered one bit then I made my way up the High Stree to the cafe which was now under new ownership compared to when we were last there You could see It was obvious still dog friendly even from reading the notice outside I explained to the waitress about our previous visits and she thanked me for returning The snack I had was hot and I enjoyed my stay regaining some warmth as it was so cold If I returned to this town I would still go back to this one now called JACK AND. RACHAELS AT THE TOP OF THE HIGH STREET

We have often driven down to Moffat and this time decided to try a tearoom directly across from our parking place. It was very clean and quite busy. The staff were very welcoming, menus were offered and the table cleaned as we sat down. Service was good but unfortunately the food disappointed. The croquet monsieur was a toasties and the cheese not very molten. The accompanying coleslaw was dry on top and very salty while the salad dressing was smothered in a very strong and overpowering vinegar. A pity as the menu looked good.

The food is freshly cooked and of a high quality of ingredients. Extensive menu and can cater for Gluten free eaters. Friendly staff. Small outside eating tables next to main road. Parking is on the roadway outside and usually somewhere to park and free.

Having not long moved to Moffat we have become very fond of visiting Jack and Racheal tea room. Nice clean surroundings, lovely staff and tasty food. Very accommodating to dogs too. Our dog will not pass the premises without dragging us in.
