The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Though there's no music played here, it's a cosy cafe with an old-world feel. I personally recommend the Jaceys club sandwich or something from the breakfast menu, though I hear the burgers are really good too. The coffee pulled from the espresso machine is rich and comforting, and the tea is served as leaves in a teapot with a strainer. Try and get here early during the week as it can get quite busy. It is a perfect place to take a friend for coffee and a catch-up.

Oh my,! What a pleasant surprise, hidden away in the back streets. I was early for an appointment and came across this gem. I ordered a bacon roll and tea. Wow.! There is real loose tea leaves that you strain as you pour from the pot. (The pot stays hot for your second cup). The bacon "bap" is a real handful, not just one rasher of cheap bacon, but filled with delicious slightly smoked and not salty bacon (It's even served with some salad). The staff are professional and welcoming. Yes, I will be back. Thanks.

Shocking rip off. We were charged £1.60 for a mug of hot water with two slices of lemon in a paper cup thing. The price was on the menu, but is shocking nonetheless. It’s probably a 500% markup. Greedy.

A wonderful café perfectly located in town centre. The breakfast here is top notch and the staff always kind and friendly. The food is definitely worth the price and they always have an assortment of revolving specials, I tried their white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake once and I was absolutely obsessed! ADD ON IN REPLY TO OWNERS REPLY I DID NOT ASK FOR THE CARROTS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE MIXED VEG PREMIX, I ASKED IF THE VEG INCLUDED CARROTS THINKING THEY WERE PREPARED SEPARATELY, UPON FINDING IT WAS A PREMIX, I IMMEDIATELY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE FINE - THE REST UNFOLDED AFTER THIS - TRYING TO JUSTIFY YOU RUDENESS WITH THIS INCORRECT REPLY IS VERY, VERY LOW TBH, AND THIS WAY OF REPLYING SHOWS YOUR MENTALITY. NOBODY TREATED YOU LIKE A SERVANT, YOU CLEARLY HAVE THE WRONG ATTITUDE FOR THIS KIND OF BUSINESS IF THAT IS HOW YOU SEE THINGS. Our order was - A jacket potatoes with tuna and cheese - Homemade steak pie with chips, veg and gravy - One portion of cheesy chips, with a side plate, for 2 children to share. - A slice of ham, and a slice of bacon (happy to pay for the sandwich in both cases) -Children's Sausage roll and chips. -Drinks So everyone is aware of our unreasonable order ???? ________________________________________________ We Visited yesterday, like many people we have fussy children, and my partner has allergy issues. Whilst we were trying with the very polite staff to sort out the order, a man who was working in the kitchen came out, I suspect he owns the cafe. He was extremely rude in his approach to us, and raised his voice at us and told us off for asking for things that his till couldn't do. He didn't know how to charge us and this was our fault, cost was not an issue to us, as we are happy to pay a higher price, if that's what's needed. For example, if we need a slice of ham added, we'll pay for a sandwich, unfortunately it seems the way forward is to raise your voice at us, and become angry, without provocation. The problem here, was his approach and rudeness. We are perfectly reasonable people, and if he had explained in a polite and reasonable way, I am sure we would have understood the problem he was facing, unfortunately he chose to be rude and aggressive with his attitude without warning. We were rather taken aback by this approach, that came from nowhere. So I told him that we were leaving, and that we wouldn't be spoken to in that way, he chose to behave like this in front of our children who are 10 years old and below, they were all sitting quietly taking it all in. They were very upset by this episode. Shame really, as we have been before and enjoyed the food, and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. There is a lot of choice in Ipswich, I suggest that if you have any allergies, or might want to change an item on the menu, that you go elsewhere, as you risk being told off in a raised, rude way. What a rude, horrible man tbh, and very disappointing experience.

3 of us had brunch here, i had a vanilla milkshake, it was nice but a bit too sweet for me, & i had a tuna & cucumber baguette, with salad & crisp's. When it arrived i thought it looked a bit silly just putting a few crisp's on the plate but it did go very well with the baguette & i didn't need many as i had a bit of salad to eat with it too. The café itself is a bit of a Tardis, look's tiny outside but seem's much bigger once you get in with 3 section's, the last being down a few step's with lounger chair's & low table's, more atmospheric than the other section's with their dining table's & chair's. The staff are happy & helpful, I would definitely recommend this place.

Jaceys was clean and had a system in place to make you feel Covid safe. You are given a menu on arrival and asked to find a table. Once you have looked at the menu you then go up to place your order giving your table number you are sitting at. Unfortunately they got one order wrong but gave me a choice of doing the order again or sticking with what I had been given by mistake, which I decided to stick with. Everything was cooked and presented nicely. Toliets were clean. Food priced right, overall a good experience and would have given them 5* if they had not got the order wrong. If in Ipswich and looking for breakfast or a light lunch then you won't go far wrong if you visit here.

Nice staff, was seated inside. Tablecloth was sticky and stained. We received our order fairly quickly. We ordered 3 mochas and a banana milkshake. The mochas tasted like chocolate milk without even a faint hint of coffee flavour. The banana milkshake tasted like low fat banana milk without any traces of ice cream which was mentioned in the menu; there was whipped cream and sprinkles on top which was nice. Overall not a nice experience.

It's unpleasant to hear yourself being criticised by the staff after you have asked a question about the drinks. I ordered a milkshake which according to the menu was made with ice cream, unfortunately it did not taste or have the texture as if it had been. It wasn't very cold and had the consistency of milk, when I asked the young waitress she assured me it had been made with ice cream, I replied that it didn't taste like it had and was in fact quite unpleasant, she apologised and went back inside the cafe. However, I then went inside to use the toilet and heard her discussing me with another young waitress and the fact that "you can't taste ice cream anyway" implying that I didn't know what I was talking about. We were, until today, fairly regular customers at this cafe but to hear yourself being criticised (unfairly) is not acceptable.

We were looking for an independent cafe to have English breakfast on our last day in Ipswich and found this coffee house by chance while wondering around. The atmosphere and the decor were really cute, exactly what I would expect from a coffee house in a small town. We both had an English breakfast that included tea or coffee and orange juice on top of the usual eggs, bacon, sausage, beans and hash browns. Everything was delicious and service was really quick. Couldn't have asked for a better place for breakfast.

As soon as we entered we were greeted and advised where to sit and that they would be with us in a few minutes which gave us enough time to get seated and check out the menu.
