Izzi in Castle Point

Took over an hour for 2 painis, a sandwich, poached egg on toast and piece of cake. Our drinks of 2 flat whites, a latte, coke and chocolate milkshake were finished a long time before the food came. The chocolate milkshake looked more like a latte colour and did not taste of chocolate, there was no sauce or cream with it, although a nearby table had been given a much nicer presented one with both. When we received our food, the sandwich was so basic, presentation was clearly not a strong skill. We had a choice of crisps or salad with the paninis, which we selected crisps - there were about 3 crisps on the plate. When we went to pay, we were charged £2 extra for the crisps with each of the paninis, although that was not stated as extra on the menu. The whole order came in at a whopping £49!!! What a rip off, never going again.

Well...we went in for a cup of tea, and stayed for lunch!! We were made to feel welcome, and there was no sense of rush, rush; the menu is extensive, we were given time to read it, and the food was all freshly cooked, well presented, colourful china, all the condiments we could use, and...hand cleanser on all the tables! The seating is soft, very comfortable, and the place was spotless, warmly decorated, and an overall sense of welcome . The prices were very good too, the tea was perfect, I would feel comfortable going in there alone too, and there aren't many places I could say that about! The best discovery for ages!♥️

Awful tasteless cold shepherds pie which had to be re-heated with under cooked peas. Ate half and gave up. Was asked if the meal was ok and I replied 'No' but was just ignored but as walking out the door a lady apologised. I wont ever be going back

Excellent food, so much had to take a lot away but soooooo good. Service and the people 10 out of 10. Couldn't fault anything. Looking forward to next time.

As soon as you walk in the restaurant you are made to feel so welcome. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a modern feel to it and is very clean. The food is excellent and the complementary bread and is a nice touch

We had breakfast here once we left our hotel. We have eaten here before with family who live over Canvey Island. The food was very hot snd fresh, the staff are very friendly and efficient. The decor is very nice inside and clean and tidy. I would go back again

My family love Izzi’s. My great grandmother came here daily for a sausage sandwich and tea and since then my Nan has took me and my mum here very regularly. Ali will always make an extra effort to come and talk to us and will have my nans strong tea and my mums latte ready before we’ve even ordered! Staff are all lovely and very friendly. They make you feel very special and obviously care dearly about their jobs and our experience. I can’t fault izzi’s on anything! Ps. Their Turkish bread is to die for in the evenings 😍😍😍 100% recommend! ❤️

Recently moved to Canvey and decided to try out some of the local eateries. We ordered a takeout from this restaurant and the delivery time was extremely quick, the food was piping hot and well presented. We will certainly be coming back for our weekly take out,.

We ordered a lamb kebab 2 chips a coke and a chicken wrap the coke and chips didn’t arrive and all food was unedible all greasy and fatty . The chips came after we called them but they forgot to bring the coke , whilst waiting for the coke we checked your chips little to our surprise they were in a pond of sweat and oil

I'm posting this for my brother, he was taken here for a birthday lunch by 3 friends. He couldn't fault the meal, he had liver & bacon and thoroughly enjoyed it. He is planning another visit next month.

First time here, nice venue and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough, apparently a cafe in the day and Turkish restaurant in the evening which is what we did. Packed menu, food prices and food portions were amazing, everything came out hot and looking good. Eyed up other dishes coming out and they looked good too. Will defo be going back!

This place opens as a cafe in the mornings and transforms into a Turkish restaurant of an evening.

We went with our friends and yet again, had a wonderful time. The food is beautiful, especially the flat bread which have a taste that means you cannot stop eating them and want more. all the food is full of flavour and fantastic.The owner and staff are all very friendly and also very busy because they are a popular place to come for a meal or special occasion with groups of friends. Can't wait to go back next time we visit our friends.

Went there for Saturday lunch, ordered an omelette and chips and a roast dinner. When the omelette was brought it was dumped on the table without a word. I had to ask roast dinner to be brought over. All the waitress had to say was "do you want a knife and fork."

We went there as we had nothing in the house to eat so headed to Izzi which is a Turkish restaurant. We were promptly seated and drinks came in good time along with a basket full of warm, delicious bread and selection of dips. We made the mistake of requesting more bread. We had so much that we couldn't finish our mains! I ordered the lamb Kleftiko and my wife had the liver. Both portions were massive and came with rice. The lamb was a little on the fatty side (but lamb usually is), but very tender and just broke apart. The liver was delicious I am reliably informed. The price including a large glass of wine and 2 comes was £33.70. The only real downside is it's very noisy and I could hardly hear my wife over other conversations. It is a family restaurant and caters for children with high chairs available.

Good choice of food. Prices OK Service can be slow sometimes but the mez helps to pass the time. Clean and quite easy to get a booking

Very expensive to eat in this everyday, would not recommend it as a place to eat as there prices have gone up dramatically.

One of my favourite restaurants. We come here most months since it opened. Food is always perfect and portions are amazing. Breakfast is definitely the best on canvey in our opinion.

Went here for fathers day! Was a little busy but expected that. The staff said they have been busy all day but still was full of energy. What you want to see, the food and service both 10/10!! Free bread before your main? Who can complain with that. Mr Ali and his wife do the most to make this place run the way it does and for that we thank them. Keep up the good work will definitely be back

Food was cheap and plentiful but poor quality and tasteless. I went with wife, sister and brother in law. I had lasagna and my wife had moussaka both were short on meat and taste. My brother in law and my sister shared an "Izzi Special". This consisted of a mixed grill on a bed of rice and a salad. They left most of it because the meat was dry and tasteless. Having said that, the salad was very nice! Two of our party had sweets which were "OK" but nothing special. Coffee was nice once the waitress understood that black coffee doesn't contain milk! The staff were pleasant and friendly but the restaurant insisted on playing loud, weird and horrible music. So if you are happy to just fill your stomach with cheap tasteless food and have your conversation drowned and ears ringing from loud, weird and awful music, Izmir may be your Nirvana. But not for me!

24 members of Canvey Thameside U3A Dining Club visited Izzi this evening. This was a return visit as the Group had such a good time last year that they wanted to go back. The food was plentiful and good quality. There was complimentary bread and dips which just seemed to keep on coming. The staff are always lovely, particularly, Charlie our waitress. She managed to keep track of 24 different orders for food and drink with ease and good humour. This is definitely a restaurant that we will keep coming back to!

Went for meal (4 of us) on Friday the 10 th November for my daughters bday. We had a brilliant evening!! As usual, food and service was excellent and the staff can never do enough for you. Great atmosphere, loveing the live singer , who got everybody singing and enjoying themselves. Evening was worth every penny!! .

It was even better when it was Raspberry Ripples, but it's still good, with helpful efficient staff and a good menu. I'd recommend the breakfasts and the capuccino.

11 of us met up for breakfast before some if us had to head back to Wales. Lovely friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble for them. Food was tasty, well priced and very reasonably priced. We went with our friends on a Saturday evening who live on Canvey Island as they highly recommend the food . Well the food was amazing . I eat out in restaurants a lot and the food was just so delicious. I can highly recommend this restaurant and very good value . Very friendly atmosphere . We have been twice now and each time I just wait to go back for another visit . The portions are very reasonable .

my mum and i usually have the canvey special breakfast here which is good value and very filling but today we tried lunch for the first time.the liver egg and chips was lovely as was the omelette chips and salad.quick service very friendly staff and fresh hot food at a good price too.we both left full.will definitely go back again.

whether you are eating in or having a take away this place is amazing! we have never had a bad meal everything about it is gorgeous. the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Saturday nights get very busy so its best to book in advanced. Best place to eat on canvey. FACT!

First impressions count. The person taking orders didn't speak English so handed the phone to a uninterested chav. The food was luke warm when it arrived so we put it in the oven. The salad represented something that had been out in the sun all day. A sloppy mess. The rice was overlooked and not at all appealing. The chicken pieces were... well pieces of chicken without much flavour. The Adana kebab was a long sausage shaped thing with a beef burger consistency. This was like chewing on an old shoe found in the Thames. A few pieces of pitta cut into squares on the side were hard and over cooked and the side of chips must've been from the day before.The restaurant might be different but I certainly won't be giving it a try.

not bad little cafe, fairly smart, clean and modern interior, a bit cramped, could do with losing a couple of tables to give more room, although always seems fairly busy. Typical offering of cafe food during the day, same as all the other cafes on Canvey, they all seem to serve the same food, haven't tried the evening menu yet when it becomes a turkish style restaurant, we will be booking soon. Staff always friendly and polite and prices are reasonable. All round a reasonable cafe just wish they would offer something different to the norm, like some local farmers sausages and bacon maybe rather than the generic cash and carry type fayre on offer.

Not much expectations, so it was quite good for a stopgap late breakfast.The service was slow and not that attentive and the quality of the food was average - but considering the location (and hence the choice), it was just about ok.

I work in the Cobra Insurance office on Canvey and I must say that Ali and his staff always go the extra mile to make sure we are looked after. They deliver our breakfasts and lunches whenever we ask and we always know what to expect. On the odd occasion anything is wrong, they put it right. What more can you ask?

pop in with my sons for a meal at 3pm and was surprised by the food on offer and the quality of the food served. I WILL be going back to find out what the evening service and food is like bit for lunch as good place to visit.

We had lunch here on a Sunday and the food was nice, the cafe is clean and well spaced out. The service was good and friendly and service was quick. We had a Subday lunch here and it was good value, meat, potatoes, 3 veg, Yorkshire puds and gravy, it was nice and hot and it all tasted nice. The scampi and breakfast was nice as well, lots of chips and very hot again. Good value for a lunch or dinner if you don't want to eat one day.

I've been here a few times for breakfast on a Sunday and each time it's been great. The food is beautifully cooked and the staff are lovely. I must go for a meal one evening as I had a look at the menu and it looked fantastic.

Had a nice evening meal here. Good sized portions, fair prices, friendly staff. The food was tasty and although the evening menu wasn't extensive, there was a decent enough selection. Would have liked some more hot mezze dishes though. Will definitely return.

My son said I should try the New Turkish restaurant in the High Street, so glad we did - it's a little gem. Such a surprise as the restaurant is actually a cafe by day and changes into a restaurant in the evening. I chose the lamb chops, but I Didn't expect the number that arrived on the plate - 5 of them all cooked to perfection on the charcoal grill accompanied with a salad and rice - this following a meze starter of 4 different Turkish cold dishes with more than enough pitta bread to keep a family happy (and free with every main course). The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, the facilities were clean and the whole interior very pleasing. I don't know how they can produce such a meal for the prices they charge - but long may it continue. Since then we have ordered 2 take away meals to our home and there was no stinting on the quality or the amount of food that arrived either - plus delivery is free. Well done

We discovered Izzi after they catered for a family party we were attending in Canvey Island. They certainly provided a good selection of high quality food, it was absolutely lovely especially the seafood, quiche and curry. Brilliant food!We stopped here for breakfast after a family party on the Island, we stayed at The Oysterfleet and wanted a later breakfast and we already knew the quality of the food provided - this place was ideal and is only a short 5-10 minute walk. They were very accommodating for us as there were 12 of us altogether and it was very busy on the Sunday morning but they found us three tables and reserved one until the other half of us turned up.I ordered the Canvey Special breakfast and the others had breakfast sandwiches, we weren't disappointing and the latte was lovely too and not pricey. Delicious!Great value, great food and great service!

On a recent visit to Canvey Island I discovered that a small cafe I had previously known has doubled in size and wow.... What wonderful service, the owner always smiles.... Definitely customer satisfaction is high on his list of priorities. Ate a breakfast which was very good and an early evening meal which they prepared especially for us what should have been a lunch special. All delicious. Of all the eating spots on Canvey, this place seems to go just that tiny bit further... Always busy and deservingly so. See you next trip!!
