Probably the best pizza I’ve had in a long time apart from maybe one other place. Absolutely delicious.

Great pizza van situated outside the pub front on most Wednesday Thursday and Friday evenings. Great selection of pizzas, all homemade in front of you in the wood fired oven and make sure you get the garlic drizzle on top. 😍 Each pizza is around &10, can't go wrong. They're so damn good and a lovely couple running the show. And even better you can eat them in the pub over a pint.

My favourite pizzas in Southampton or indeed anywhere. The dough is absolutely delicious and the balance, flavour and quality of the toppings better than I could ever imagine.

Ridiculously good! It's such a treat to have freshly made, highly quality, super tasty pizzas handed straight to you from the lovely folks who run the place. I had The Chorizo pizza and The Veggie pizza with jalapeños, both were equally amazing. The pizza itself has a very thin base and a nice, crispy crust. Just the way I like it! If you can live with the immense guilt of eating too many calories, the Garlic butter and Chilli Oil topping is 100% recommended. Both at once... if you dare... 😁 I'll be honest... Based on all the photos, I went to this place expecting an eat-in restaurant, but it's actually all made in a van! No worries though, since you can take the pizza in the Southwestern Arms pub and enjoy it with a drink, if you like. They actually have decent options for vegetarians and vegans which is awesome! They could probably benefit from adding more information on their website, but for now, I've attached an updated menu.

I love the pizza here more than any pizza anywhere, and yes I'd include Italy. It's the dough / crust as the first winner, then it's the balance of flavours on each variety. Having a pleasant ale in the pub with the pizza just tops it all off.

These guys do the best pizza in Southampton. Not any of this pizza hut or dominoes rubbish! Well priced, fantastic quality and a really nice team. The marmite garlic pizza bread is outta this world!

The best pizzas we've had outside Italy 🇮🇹 - hands down! This rivals pizza we've had in Verona. Absolutely delicious! Enjoyed in the pub with a pint. What more could you want?

Ordered chips for £3.50, they came served on a miniature plate and wouldn’t be enough for a toddler to eat, they were good chips but about 1/4 the amount you’d expect for the money. Any order seems to be a problem also. You mention this isn’t your business, however I’ve just double check and it is you, I work opposite your premises shown in your pictures and you do serve chips

Andy & Belinda serve the yummiest pizza in this great land! Excellent vegan pizza & the warmest people. Don’t go elsewhere for mediocre pizza, come here!

This place is such a gem of Southampton. Amazing prices, great pizza and local ciders. Quaint, cute and a great music playlist. Can not recommend it enough. 10/10. I miss it already.

Amazing pizza and really lovely staff

If you've seen the other reviews, you already know it's the best. And (writing June 2022) it still is; we're very lucky to have the pizza van pulling up twice a week near the southwestern arms. My wife and I grab a pizza there maybe once a fortnight (I'd love to visit more often but my waistline won't allow!). Friendly, fun & very talented pizza artesans with years of experience (and it shows!). Tips are: get there early as it's often popular and there can be a long wait - don't let that put you off (hop in the pub for a pint while you wait), and do try something on the veggie side - the meaty pizzas are superb, but the veggie pizzas are just as good, and it's nice to mix it up and try different things.

Brilliant Pizza, great location for where I was staying. Service was smooth, everything was great. I will recommend and return.

It’s a pizza thing are no more at The Paddle and Peel but are now serving pizza at The south western Arms Adelaide road St Denys, Southampton SO17 2HW You will find them there every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 5.30pm

Thin dough for the pizzas, just how I like it. The price is great, maybe the portions are a bit small, but let me tell you, the pizza is incredibly good and it is REALLY worth it. I will return soon!

Lovely meal and drinks on a friday evening. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, drinks are great and food delicious. They made a fuss of our 7 month old baby which was so lovely and she had her first taste of pizza!

If you're going to walk 4.5 miles each way, for anything, especially on one of the hottest days of the year ... it's a prerequisite that the reason is going to be worth it. It was. 👍

Friendly, welcoming of the beaten track hidden gem. Quick service, excellent freshly made food and good value for money. My only criticism is, I personally would prefer to eat of a plate and use a knife and folk but I do feel that is reflected in such good value food. Would definitely recommend.

Booked for the wife's birthday and wasn't let down. We previously searched to see what restaurants would suit vegan in the area as we travelled from the north. We try to support local businesses and we were Super glad we did. Service was great despite them being a little short in staff. Food was superb alongside. Finally the prices were very reasonable and we would have paid more! Highly recommended

Yesterday evening I went with friends to Paddle and Peel for a pizza and a couple of drinks. I’ve always thought they served the best pizzas in Southampton and they didn’t disappoint, the pizzas are even better than I remember.. Paddle and Peel has a lovely chilled ambience and is dog friendly so the prefect place to go if you don’t want to leave your furry friend behind.

Popped in for a long overdue pizza fix. They were fully booked, but allowed me to sit at a table if I was really quick before the customers arrived. Excellent pizza!

Amazing! Pizza menu was strong. The pizzas we had were made very well and tested great, the staff were good fun and made the whole time more enjoyable. Funky few beers too, with a choice of some craft stuff or premium lagers. Cheers guys!

Very good pizzas. The pizza thin bases were delicious especially liked the cheesy. The calzone was also very good. This place is not in your normal type, don't judge a book by its location or drive to get to it. Would definitely go back again.

Found this little place after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. I contacted them on Facebook and they were very responsive and polite. The place is situated in an industrial estate and have plenty of parking just outside. Pizza was great. A little on the small side but fully loaded. Definitely would choose independent pizza place like this over a chain. Would recommend a visit.

Stunning, wonderful, delicious.....what more could you ask for? The views are lovely, the service excellent, good rules for COVID in place, food of the highest standard. Completely recommend. From the friendliest of hellos to a warm goodbye, the whole visit was excellent

This place is absolutely fantastic, a definite must go! After having a pizza here you'll become a regular, I promise you that. They have huge variety of vegan and vegetarian (also meaty ones for the carnivores), everything is freshly made so the pizzas are easily customizable. Sat outside under the pergola and the atmosphere made it feel like we were on holiday! Also all you marmite lovers, they do marmite garlic bread and it was a definite hit! Awesome little find tucked out of the way on Kemp's quay, good selection of craft ales and awesome wood fired pizza's. They're also keeping some of Southampton's Pub heritage alive with the huge picture of the queen Mary that use to reside in the Queen's Hotel Albert road south

Difficult to find in interesting part of town, close to harbourside. I've lived in this area for years without knowing this was here. Pizza is hard to beat, service is excellent,served in boxes. Still something of a locals pub, nice mix of customers. New landlords will probably improve some more on it's slightly frazzled charm

Not quite what we expected - very basic set-up, but really lovely people. Some board-games on a shelf behind us. Great beer and the most fantastic pizzas! Beware, nothing else that isn't pizza-based, if that's important to you. We had garlic bread for starters, various pizzas for mains and then an amazing chocolate calzone (you get to chose your choc bars) for pudding ... thank goodness we only ordered one between four of us, though. Will definitely be back!!!

Loved the pizza van when it was by the South Western. This is even better! Great beer, great prices. If I had to complain at all, its simply that there aren't enough vegan options, but there's plenty of veggie and they do have vegan cheese!

This place is amazing!! We followed Belinda and Andy from their pizza van at The South Western Arms and are so glad that they have their own place. It's cosy, friendly, has a great selection of beers, ales and ciders - oh and gins! - and serves the best pizza we have ever eaten (and my husband makes incredible pizzas in his pizza oven!!). Would highly recommend!

We started visiting here when they were just a pizza truck and keep coming back now they have there new place! Best pizzas in Southampton, better than any pizza restaurant around, freshly cooked and always a friendly and nice atmosphere in there. Highly recommend!!

If you can find this place, and I do mean 'if', you in for a real treat. Do not expect fine dining with silver service. This is really different! And sooo much fun! Pokey little bar with a built in Pizza oven. Seating is limited, but fun if you like sharing. The bar is a real 'local' bar, but the management so friendly and welcoming and pleasant locals making room for us.Beer from the keg; light weights can try lager in the bottle! Wine for those who do wine. Pizza is about it on the food menu, but a great choice, freshly cooked, served on paper bags on paper plates! Knives and forks are for wimps! And mega-dog friendly! This is so worth a try and a real different experience. But, as I said at the start; if you can find it!

This is a gorgeous and fascinating place for pizza and a beer. Love it.

We'd been here before, when the previous owners ran it. I think they were missing a trick with not doing any food, but now though, under new ownership, it's brilliant. Part of the bar has been converted into a kitchen, where they make and cook the pizzas, in a proper pizza oven. They were delicious and no soggy bottom! Lovely atmosphere, so we'll definitely be back. May try the chocolate pizza next time! Thanks!

Came here with my brother and our partners, to eat pizza - and they've run out! Very disappointing on a Saturday night at 20:00 for them to have run out of their main attraction; it just seems like poor planning (though maybe there is a reason - hopefully they'll reply here to explain). On the plus side the decor and atmosphere is nice and they seem to have a decent bar!

This place was awesome! Tucked away in a tiny key/dock this place offers great pizza and drinks! I was very impressed by the quality and taste of the pizzas and the price was reasonable too! We had 3 pizzas between two adults and this was enough, although I was very hungry. The drinks were great too some real nice home made Kraft beers and ales on offer aswell as ciders. Family friendly and the staff were all very helpful!

1st visit to the new location in Kemp's quay by the marina,having visited many previous times when they were in the pub car park in st Denys. Very impressed, good beer and the calzones excellent as always,took an extra 2 home to freeze for another day Glad you now have a permanent location with longer opening times,good to see you both again,I'll be back soon.

We were lucky enough to live opposite it’s a pizza thing when it was a van outside the south western pub. It was our secret and favourite food treat. It was my haven when I was pregnant and we were sad when we moved away from the area solely because of the pizza van. Today we took our daughter for her first ever pizza experience in their new restaurant. WOW. It’s a lovely location and such a lovely atmosphere. We were even recognised from our regular visits over 18 months ago which really shows how valued their customers are to them. Pizza’s were “AMAZING” as always and we will definitely make more 40 minute trips to this amazing place.

This place is a hidden gem, I only went there because a friend who lives in the area recommended it, otherwise I would never have found it....but once you do find it, you’ll be happy! The pizzas are tasty and with a good choice of toppings, plus they’re cooked in a wood fire oven, just like in Italy, which makes all the difference..... There’s a good selection of drinks, including beer and people are friendly. Recommended!

I wasn’t sure when they moved here as it seems a bit out of the way, but it’s fantastic. The pizza is the best I’ve ever had and I really like their selection of beers.

Tuvimos un breve descanso en un be and be en Dibden y estábamos buscando lugares para comer y este lugar obtuvo una alta puntuación. Así que configuramos el navegador satelital y nos fuimos. Me preocupé cuando terminamos en un barco construyendo una finca. Era sábado, así que todo estaba cerrado y pensamos que seguramente nos habíamos equivocado. Lentamente avanzamos lentamente, directamente en el agua que parecía y allí estaba en la esquina. Todavía no estábamos muy seguros, pero resulta que todas las críticas fueron acertadas. Este lugar no tiene absolutamente nada de básico, es básico, así que si buscas glamour, no es para ti. Sin embargo, si buscas pizzas sabrosas de leña genuina, entonces este es el truco. Hicimos la bienvenida y disfrutamos de una deliciosa pizza hecha y cocinada tradicionalmente, servida en una bolsa de papel marrón en un plato de papel, sin complicaciones y sin ensuciar.

Había estado recibiendo el retiro de "Es una cosa de pizza", así que decidí probar el nuevo bar. Estaba preocupado de que el conductor no supiera dónde estaba, pero. . . . . él lo sabía y también sus colegas, ¡ya que parecía haber una corriente constante! ¡Se corrió la voz! La noche siguiente estábamos en otro pub local y todos hablaban de Paddle & Peel. Gran ambiente, buenos precios, buena ginebra y pizzas increíbles!

Mi primera visita a las nuevas instalaciones. Un poco fuera del camino y no estaba seguro de qué esperar después de la pequeña y linda furgoneta para llevar. Feliz de informar que el restaurante estaba ocupado en una soleada tarde de viernes. Tiene un ambiente encantador y relajado (todas las edades, niños, perros), las pizzas siguen siendo increíbles y sirven cervezas de barril bien cuidadas. ¡Volveré!
