Excellent . Went for a late Sunday lunch Turkish style. Service excellent professional and friendly. Food delicious. All 4 of us had something different, I had a lamb tagine, very rich and filling, lovely . We will go again . Very large restaurant divided into sections . A little empty ( cold January!) but I am sure when full the place buzzes.

Lovely meal over an informal business dinner. I have fairly extensive allergies and the staff were fantastically attentive and considerate of this.

Four of us visited here in November and just randomly picked this place to eat as we were staying locally. I can't actually remember the name of the dish I had but it tasted fantastic! And all of the other meals were delicious too. I'm only disappointed that I was only there for a business trip & therefore may not get the opportunity to go back! The red wine was also lovely. We were too full for pudding, but given complimentary Baklava and Turkish Delight which was delightful. I really enjoyed walking in and seeing all of the kebabs made up and being cooked. It was all very clean. Lovely restaurant, thoroughly recommend.

Great service and very tasty food!!! Istanbul restaurant has the spirit of the city of Turkey, As someone Turkish l must say the quality service and relaxing atmosphere did take me to back home. If you didn’t visit Istanbul in Turkey You can easily visit Istanbul in London Highly Recommended!

An enduring favorite, this Turkish restaurant in London stands out for its consistently amazing and tender meat quality. The extensive selection of vegetarian options is a plus. While portion sizes might not be the largest, the focus on top-notch quality sets it apart as one of the best in town.

Hard to imagine how after being a returning customer for more than 3 years, ordering meals almost every week, the staff gets into a huge argument with me when I told them I was disappointed with the amount of shrimp in my meal (which consisted mostly of empty shrimp heads). If I was a restaurant owner I would get out of my way to keep my customers happy. But don’t expect this here. They don’t even greet you when you come in. This staff needs to learn some manners. I will never return.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner here with friends - Absolutely delicious Turkish food (we shared a Chef's Special Mixed Kebab which included chicken shish and lamb köfte and other dishes) and it all came with complimentary meze starters and super tasty Turkish bread. (The free starters were part of their Tasty Tuesday Special) Overall - Really nice décor, friendly service, tasty fresh food and superb value. We'll definitely be coming back again very soon. Went as a group of 12 last night to celebrate our friend's 60th bday. From the start, the staff were amazingly accommodating, making extra space for us at a very grand table. The waiter was always jovial, and service was spot on. We had a range of specific requirements food wise which were all met. And then the food arrived....and wow! I usually go to the Turkish restaurants in Green Lanes. No more! This is definitely the place to come for THE tastiest chicken shish and kofte...full of flavour and tender. My wife had the fish bowl which was excellent. Again full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Looking fwd to the next time already!

Beautifully served flavourful meals in this nicely decorated restaurant really worth a repeat visit. Starters. Calamari, chicken wings and two veggie dishes all very nice, one Star lost simply because the chicken wings were delightful just a very small portion for the £8 charged 4 tiny pieces. They got the order wrong. Asked for a lamb donar wrap with chilli and garlic sauce. Salad with no cucumber and red cabbage.... I got a lamb donar with all salad, and in a burger bun?! But in all honesty, the food itself was actually amazing! Like even the sides were on point! Respect to the shop but next time please Respect the actual order 👍

Poor food quality. Miserable, unfriendly, rude staff. I don't think they care about customers at all. I would not return. Food is not fresh or even microwaved correctly. Last time moussaka served still cold in the middle. Today prawns were like rubber and bizarre taste, definitely from frozen and not cooked correctly. Don't go to this place

Absolutely poor customer service by this quite young so called manager that has no idea on how to talk to customers appropriately. He clearly showed his lack of any sort of intelligence through his ignorant bad attitude. I would never go there again as the so called manager informed me “there many other better Turkish restaurants”.

We love Istanbul but I can make better babouganush, bread wasn't crispy and my bbq vegetable didn't taste good either :(

Food is decent - not great but not bad. What severely detracted from the experience was that we felt really uncomfortable throughout. The waiters were literally standing over us, seemingly watching us throughout. We tried to drop a couple of subtle hints but they just didn't get it. We pretty much had 3 waiters, who just looked sooooo bored, standing there looking at us. One was clicking his ballpoint pen which was annoying. It's a big restaurant - give us some space and privacy! Sadly it really took away from the experience, to the extent that we rushed it and couldn't wait to get out. Not somewhere we would return!

We’ve been a big fan since we started living here in 2020. I usually order from Uber, but the eat-in is also a great space with a lovely atmosphere. They are kid friendly as well. If it’s Wednesday, you will get the kids menu for free. Thanks for the great service today, Hulya!

First time at this particular branch and I was exceptionally impressed.High standards with service and level of cleanliness.The place looks spot on clean ,elegant decor ,great members of staff as it should be .The food it is fresh and tasty ,good size portions and of course prices a little high but it’s for the quality ! I love this restaurant! Hulya and her colleagues always give us a warm welcome and look after us very attentively. The food is fresh, delicious and plentiful. We like the little dishes of yogurt and cucumber and olives which are brought to the table with hot pita while the starters are being prepared. I particularly enjoyed the hot spicy prawn starter, the lamb kofte, and the chicken kebab. My friends enjoyed the lamb ribs, prawn sauté, and chicken sauté. The food and service are consistently excellent so I feel confident recommending Istanbul to my friends.

So ended up at Istanbul Restaurant again despite having had a dreadful meal last time. This time the food was FABULOUS. I had chicken kofta which was tasty with nicely cooked rice and salad with really nice dressing on it, my friend had lamb ribs. I ate one of hus ribs and it was really tasty. Maybe they have changed the chef but this it was really good.

Good afternoon, Me and my boyfriend ordered take out for the first time from here (We usually go in person to dine in and and every time we have loved it! ). We would say we have been around 3 - 4 times, every-time having more than pleasant service, Very decent if not generous portion sizes and a good quality of food, service and overall expierance.... This time however we had spent over £30 For a small lamb wrap and Iskender which was not to our expectation at all... I had chosen a small Portion for the lamb shish wrap, so in all fairness I was definitely not expecting the usual portion of food I have endured before. However it goes without saying that this wrap was extremely tiny, and was in my not worth £12 at all. There was no salad or sauce in the wrap whatsoever, apart from red cabbage and lamb. Usually they would ask if we like to have a sauce and put it an array of salad. While I understand some restaurants may have a low standard, this was certainly not the experience we have ever endured with their food before.... So it's safe to say it came as a massive shock when the food was under proportionate, Dry, and overall very disappointing considering the price we paid. Especially in this time where there are people like who don't mind paying a little extra if we know we are having a good quality of food. But on this occasion, My boyfriends meal alone cost £20, which came cold, and was under whelming and lacked complete flavor compared to the previous time he's enjoyed this meal. It seemed our order had been extremely rushed, as if they had just chucked us some stale bread and threw some lamb in bare tortilla and called it a "dish". While I appreciate all the other times this place had been wonderful in the past, I feel you may aswell spend your money at the local kebab takeaway if your down to spend less money and get a better quality and quantity of food.

We had a take-away chicken shish last night that was great. You get about 8/9 large pieces of very nice chicken on a bed of rice in one container, a salad consisting of shredded carrot shredded red cabbage and lettuce with a half of lemon in another container with two sauces in little pots the chili sauce is very nice with a bag of pitta - this was better than usual last night. This is enough food for the two of us. The price has gone up recently to £15, but if you order via their website you get 10% discount so it is now £13.50.

I have been to this restaurant countless times euth my family and there's never a dull moment. From the kitchen stuff to waiters, the warm welcome we receive every time makes us want to go back and we feel we are part of the family. There's one lady who stands out for me, her name is Hulya. She is so warm and kind. My 10 year older daughter loves her. This is also my daughter's favourite restaurant abd she wants to go there for the turkish delights, bulgar rice and deep fried calamari. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fresh home cooked food. Cathy

Visited this restaurant after reading few reviews. The chef special for 2 was very disappointing. It is overpriced, the meat wasn’t fresh, overcooked and very dry. Also ordered set menu, the lamb Kebab was very salty. the Service was also very bad. The guy who served us seemed tired, fed up and very unfriendly. Overall bad service and below average Turkish food.

Having been to all of the local Turkish restaurants and ones in town , I can honestly say that this is the best by far . Quality of the meat and standards are extremely high. I work for a high end steak restaurant group and am very picky , I notice everything . Istanbul is a top eatery and the service is efficient, professional and friendly. Hulya and her team are lovely people. I recommend highly.

Been dining here for years and they never ever compromise on quality of produce, service and presentation. I honestly believe that anyone who leaves a bad review is just a jealous competitor . My background is hospitality for a high end restaurant group and I do not give such compliments easily . Cannot fault and go for the lamb chops , you will not be disappointed .

Use to love this restaurant but like everywhere, prices increased and food quality certainly not the same as years ago. Staff and service EXCELLENT, but the food is not the same as it used to be. The value for money is certainly not there. Our food was ok, but nothing to write home about... You could see the fish and meat were mediocre cuts.

As a first time visitor, the restaurant was both large and impressive, beautifully decorated and service was friendly. The menu is typical for a Turkish and my friend and I ordered a 'basic' starter and a main course each, which were pleasant enough and the meat was very tasty. However, portion size was an issue, small, certainly smaller than any other Turkish we'd been to and although it's understood that profits are generated on alcohol, we were asked no less than five times over a forty-minute period if we wanted more drinks, which was excessive to say the least. When we asked for the bill, we found that a 12.5% SC for mediocre service had been added, while >£80.00 for what we had was, we thought, expensive to say the least and for this reason, linked with poor portion size, we shall not be returning, as nobody likes to be fleeced, not for a basic local midweek supper, when far better can be bought for this level of pricing.

Staff were extremely friendly, service was excellent, food was good, not wow, but value for money verses food quality verses the type of restaurant, was poor. Fist time back post pandemic and it is sad to see restaurants struggle due to high prices. Most restaurants in the once thriving area appear to struggle. The restaurant needs to cut its costs and increase food quality, otherwise, there is no point remaining in business. I hope it survives - but to me it offers poor value for money,

Turkish food has to be one of my favourite cuisines. I’ve been to quite a few Turkish restaurants however, other Turkish restaurants can’t compete to even be half as good as Istanbul restaurant. If you are looking to go to the best Turkish restaurant in London please don’t look any further. You won’t find better than Istanbul. It’s the freshest of the freshest! Their food is mouthwatering and tastes delightful. I go there with my partner and my family at least once a week. It’s our favourite place to eat QUALITY food and enjoy each others company. The decor is very elegant and sophisticated. The restaurant however, is slightly pricey although you get what you pay for right ? Thank you Istanbul for your friendly service and amazing food. Had the most amazing experience from start to finish here this evening! The wait staff were very attentive and welcoming, our main waiter had great humour making our time very enjoyable and the food was divine! The meat mussaka was perfect and the lamb Shish was SO beautifully tender! I’d highly recommend dining here, the atmosphere is as wonderful as the food, and the portion sizes are fab. Perfect for a family meal, a romantic date or a cosy takeaway! AND without any guilt too, all fresh and healthy food! 10/10!

Lovely little Gem of a restuarant on the high street. Although I have ordered takeaway from here, I've never had the pleasure of sitting inside to eat. Beautiful service, gorgeous decor, very attentive, kind staff. The food was beautifully cooked too and lovely cocktails. I will be back to eat inside for sure.

I usually do not write reviews, unless the experience was very good or very bad. In this case, the experience was very good. My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday and we were surprised by the quality of the food. The place looks very clean, the waiters are welcoming and nice, the food is delicious, the portions are decent for the price! We had lamb kebab with salad and rice, it was very tasty! We liked that they gave us pita bread, olives and sauce free of charge which is a standard in their restaurant however you dont always get in other restaurants! The price is also decent, it is not cheap but not too expensive either. We will definitely come back in the near future!

Overall I enjoyed the food here. The chicken kofte could have been seared a bit better on the fire. But it was tasty. The chili was nice, although the garlic sauce didn’t do it for me. The accompanying salad was nice but would have preferred no dressing. Service was good. I’d possibly return but just can’t give it full 5 stars. By the way, despite an identical logo on the shop front this place is not connected to the Istanbul restaurant in Dalston.

Me and my wife had a long layover in London so stopped by here to meet a friend for dinner. This place is amazing, we tried everything he recommended and none of it disappointed. I see why this is an award winning restaurant, absolutely great food and service was wonderful too.
