Amazing family run turkish restaurant, food is amazing with lots to choose from, the staff are so polite and accomodating. They are very good with children and I have been coming for over 7 years and can not fault them at all.. I really recommend this place to eat 🙂

Once again the food was gorgeous but guys I have to say the portion size greatly reduced the Istanbul special me and my son always order was quite disappointing no shredded lamb or chicken on the bedded rice no lamb kofti only 2 lamb chops no sausage I understand the price increases from £28 - £40 and happy to pay but come on guys let’s not pull the wool over our eyes go back to your basics that’s what we loved about Istanbul Regards Steve

Absolutely delicious meal. Excellent vegetarian options. Very tasty bread and salad provided free before your meal. We both had the vegetarian Vegetable Kebab, which was wonderful, with aubergines, peppers, mushrooms and onions and an amazing savoury rice. Very generous portions, we were very, very full! Restaurant seems very clean and hygienic, the staff are helpful, friendly and speedy. Lovely atmosphere. Cannot fault this place. Thanks!!

I visited a week ago Friday, as 2 friends hadn't been for a month and wanted to go back to eat their tasty, well cooked food again. We arrived at 630pm and were greated with a warm smile. It was relatively quiet, as a little early, but that was nice as it wasn't too noisy for my elderly friend. We chose the Istanbul special for 2-3 people with a side of humus, all to be eaten with the complimentary salad, yoghurt, chilli sauce and their special bread. The platter came, bursting with a variety of meats, on a bed of rice and bulgar wheat, topped with some freshly grilled green peppers. I am pleased to say that nothing was wasted - we did struggle towards the end but as it was so delicious, we couldn't leave it alone. Our dish of salad ran out so, as per usual, they were happy to replenish it. All was washed down with a few glasses of their Turkish house wine - delicious. All in all, lovely as always. My friends have said that we should make it a monthly event and are already looking forward to their next visit. Keep up the good work and we'll see you again soon!

This restaurant is a favorite of ours throughout the year. The food is reasonbly priced you are given complimentary salad and bread befire your meal. The portion sizes are perfect we are always full by the end of the meal. The restaurant is clean and tgere is lovely wall art. The staff are always accommodating and very friendly. Never rushed to leave. Great overall experience. I also come with friends due to the overall cost, cleanliness and friendly welcome.

This place does not disappoint! We had a mixed grill for 2 and some drinks, which was absolutely delicious an great size portion. It is consistent every time we go or takeaway. This is my second review because its that good. Please dine here and keep this restaurant in business, Ruislip needs you.

Saturday evening meal at 7 ish, service was OK, food was OK, nothing special. Place lacked atmosphere.

Istanbul is just the best restaurant Family atmosphere excellent service still very reasonable prices their kebab is the Best and the grill grey mullet is the best fish I ate,in a restaurant is,a great place,if u want to spend z night out and enjoy ur Keal in a family atmosphere

Been here with a group of friends as I was craving for a Turkish meat feast and since my favourite place is quite far I looked up for some place nearby and found Istanbul. Since I remember eating in other decent places with the same name in and around London and Leicester I haven’t hesitated. ....well...not what I was expecting, neither quantity nor quality. The meat was ok but very limited amount, no starter, the chilli sauce was warm and with an off taste to it, and the ayran, which was bottled I just couldn’t drink. I think they need a competitor in the area

Over the past 4-5 years, I have eaten here many times and I'm never disappointed. My usual order is a large chicken shish. Yes, the price has increased slightly, no doubt due to the ever increasing costs of everything that we all have experienced recently, but the quality has remained great. 'Yes, they may have reduced the 'freebies' but that enables you to enjoy your meal, so you are left feeling satisfied but not uncomfortably full.' I used to see so many plates go back into the kitchen with food on - such a waste, was my thought. The Istabul specials remain very good value. I shared the one for 2-3 people at £42.95, with 2 friends, and we were struggling to eat everything. Less than £15 per head so, to me, a superb choice. There was definitely no room for any Baklava. We sampled all 3 Turkish wines, their house wines, and were definitely impressed. I have always found the staff courteous. In busy times you may have to wait 5-10 minutes for some service but I don't see that as a problem as I'm relaxing and busy socialising. It's also nice not to be rushed and made to feel that you are on a conveyor belt, that they want the table back and you're being pushed out the door. I'll be back there in the new year, to sample 'their fares' and drink their lovely Turkish wines again.

I travelled 80 miles to take my elderly mother and father to this restaurant at their specific request. The table was booked on line and I received a courtesy call confirming the booking. On arrival at Istanbul found that work was ongoing to the front door and that they were closed. We were offered a very cold and very noisy (drills) restaurant, with a take it, leave it, or come back this evening attitude. No call to say they had problems and no apology. Thanks very much for spoiling a family lunch out.

Am ever so pleased they shifted around the seating. Food is lovely, staff ever so polite. Turkish wine was also good. We asked for the main dishes to come out 30 minutes after the starter. Was no problem. Been a few times. Recommend

Nice upgrade of the interior with large fans to keep restaurant cool. Unfortunately having been here numerous times did not enjoy the experience. Very rushed service, seemed chaotic inside and outside seating areas. Visible huge reduction in the complimentary starers. 2 niniscule dishes with dips, pitta bread basket was sparce to share amongst 4 of us plus vasstly reduced salad for 4. To add price increases. The customers are definitely paying for the upgrade. Lost it appeal that it had before.

I highly recommend this restaurant whether eating in or using the takeaway service. The food is always very well cooked, fresh and lots of it! A wide choice on the menu too and decent Turkish beer too. Have visited many times and never disappointed.

Overall this place was noisy so you can go with bunch of kids . We had to wait few minutes as restaurant was full but it was worth a wait. Complimentary salad bowl, olives bread with herbs was mouth watering. Food was tasty with decent quantity.

The restaurant provided us with takeaway food for a family party. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I have also eaten at the restaurant in the past I can confirm that the food in the restaurant is also delicious and the portions also very generous. The meat (lamb) was cooked to perfection.

Food is great, especially the meat. The platters are massive. You can feed 2 with one portion. I’d recommend the mixed grill. You get various kebabs, lamb cutlets, wings and ribs, served on rice. With a doggy bag you are sorted for the next meal.... booking recommended.

I can't recommend his restaurant enough. Whether eating in or takeaway, it's fantastic value. The food is superb and always cooked to perfection. One reviewer said it was overpriced? Nonsense, must have been a competitor as it's very reasonable and the service is always good. We've eaten here many times as a family and group of friends and always a high standard.

It is near my house.Gone with my family for dinner.Situated on the main road,very easy to find.Small by cozy seating arrangement.We have Ayran & Salgam as soft drinks & Calamari as starter.A dish of deep fried squid with tarter sauce & salad.Excellent taste.For main course we have ordered Istanbul Special.A large platter of assorted lamb & chicken kebabs served with two types of rice,bread,salad.Sufficient for four of us.It was a mix of Lamb shish,Adana Kebab,Lamb Chops,Chicken wings,Chicken Doner & Lamb ribs. Kebebs were very succulent,soft ,well prepared with charcoal flavour.Very much enjoyed our food.But one bad experience,we have to wait for very long time for Istanbull Special dish to serve.No complain about the food.

We regularly go to this restaurant as it is perfect for my husband who is lactose intolerant. It is a family run business - service is perfect and very friendly staff. It is very good value and we love the fresh salad, sides and pitta bread before the main meal.

Visited here with a friend encouraged by the £7.95 2 course lunch deal and the fact that we were able to sit outside on a hot day. We ordered starters and were happily surprised that these were accompanied by a large and tasty salad and plenty of pitta bread. There was no suggestion on the menu of what the main course would come with but it arrived with two different types of rice and grilled peppers. Both courses were large, freshly prepared and tasty. Can't really say to much about the interior as we ate al fresco but it looked fairly authentically Turkish. My only reason for awarding 4 stars rather than 5 is that the service, although efficient was not particularly friendly with our waiter seeming to lack interest. Otherwise a really enjoyable lunch and we will be happy to return.

I visited this restraunt for lunch with my friend and unfortunately was very dissapointed. Service was extremely slow, food was bland. Waiters very arrogant and rude. Would not go again and do not recommend to anyone.

We celebrated our son's birthday at Istanbul - there were 15 of us and the staff were fantastic - so friendly and accommodating - they planned the menu with us in advance and really looked after us. We had plenty of food and drinks and everyone enjoyed themselves from my nephew age 2yrs to my father in law who's 87yrs!! Thank you to all the staff.

People travel from miles away to come and eat at my local Turkish restaurant, not surprised it's always busy, always fab and the falafel are some of the best I've ever tasted! Go hungry!! Portions are enormous!!

Visited this place based on reviews and I was not disappointed wow. The food is tasty and the portions are so huge that we had to do a takeaway. The price is value for money and you really do get your moneys worth. I had the mixed grill which was so tasty and had every sort of meat you could want. I would recommend this place and will also be visiting again.

Not recommended for vegetarians. Ordered a takeaway, £7 for a halloumi wrap, £7 for a falafal wrap, abit overpriced. Cedar tree, across the road does better vegetarian food. Wraps were supermarket bought, not authentic. Cedar tree do wraps in Lebanese bread.

Great food and good value. Sometimes the staff could be a bit happier! But we would still go regardless.

tonight i went to my favourite restaurant only to have a tray of wine tipped over us. this was not the fault of the waitress who i felt sorry for but because it is too crowded and cramped with not enough room between tables, to add to this we were not given our starters which we were still charged for and not offered any concessions for being soaked in red wine and glass. accidents happen but the offer of a free drink would have been a nice touch. we got the starters taken off the bill but the customer services was severely lacking. the overcrowdiness in this restaurant could be dangerous in the case of a fire or other emergency. the food is still amazing and i wll still want to eat here.

Love it here. Delicious hot and cold meze, great kebabs, especially the Adana kebab. The staff are friendly and attentive, always welcoming. We visit regularly.

Visited my partner who lives in nearby Harrow and we were suggested Istanbul by here friends as a good place to eat nearby.

Visited the restaurant with family and was very pleased with what we were served. The food wasn’t fancy but it was traditional and well cooked, there was plenty of it as well. Don’t go here if you are on a diet. Highly recommend if you like good value and plenty of food.

Since eating chicken kebab and kleftiko lamb here I don't go anywhere else. Even pitta bread tastes awesome on its own, especially with tzatzik. Generous portions, extremely flavoursome and well cooked. Never had bad meal in here. Down to earth place not trying to serve anything but good food. Strongly recommend.

Fantastic Turkish restaurant in the heart of Ruislip Manor. Freshly cooked, clean and delicious food that is made in front of you - ample portions and incredible value. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. We have eaten there with our children and friends too and have never been disappointed. The staff and manager are friendly and helpful. I urge you to go if you haven't already!

We return to this popular Turkish restaurant time and time again. I say popular because whatever time of day you go it’s always busy. The service is excellent and is well staffed with friendly/efficient waiters who ensure the good service continues during busy periods. The food is always plentiful and tasty. The meat is fresh , juicy and very good quality. The fish is well barbecued. The portions are enormous. Everything is accompanied with olives, fresh salad and home made breads.

Whether you eat in or takeaway, the standard of food here is excellent everytime I eat here. On my last visit I ordered three items to takeaway (a mixed kebab and two salmon fillets).

We decided to try lunch at the Istanbul, the venue was very popular which was surprising for midweek lunchtime. The set menu was good value with large portions. My husband had the vine leaves which were rather bland and tasteless, however his mixed kebab was tasty and enjoyable. Efficient and friendly staff.

I visited second time the restaurant, I have been there with my family lunch time and we really enjoyed it so on Friday night the weather was great and decided to visit . I sat outside and ordered a mixed kebab and a large efes.

Food was nice, salad was fresh, lots of meat. The only thing I didn’t like was all the cooking smell and smoke was a bit much in the Resturant as we were all sitting in it.

Came here on a Friday 6.30pm was very busy we managed to get the last 2 seats and just after we sat down people were coming in trying to get a table so obviously it’s a very popular restaurant..service is quick and the staff are very good especially considering how busy they are..we had the Istanbul special..the meat is lean and big portions will definitely return

Went for dinner here recently, not a place for a romantic evening, but fantastic value for a group of mates. We had the Istanbul special which has to be seen to be believed!! Great food at an amazing price.

La intención de venir aquí por un tiempo las cosas bien ya que son locales y oído. No nos decepcionó, simple comida sabrosa turco bien preparado. Teníamos sentimientos cordero shish y pollo brochetas, buena calidad de carne con 2 tipos si arroz. Un bonito detalle fue la ensalada y pan plano y las aceitunas y tzaziki presentado cortesía antes del plato principal. No se podía comer de todo y para dos personas con bebidas gaseosas sólo £21!

Got take-away as we were feeling lazy and didn't want to go out. As it happened, we'd have been turned away anyway. The place was packed! (Thursday night).The prices were fine, not cheap, not pricey, and the food tasted great. I was convinced to have a lamb dish with rice and yoghurt and I can definitely ay it was the right choice!I was a little perplexed by the takeaway portion sizes. The starters were tiny, with very few pieces of anything (we got the mushrooms, and the stuffed filo wrap/straws).The mains on the other hand were enormous...verging on too big...I had to eat it over 2 days...I'm not complaining, as I was glad to eat the tasty dish twice, but bigger starters is definitely a must. They were decidedly stingy in comparison to the mains.That said, it won't stop us from trying the place again. It's hard to find such good tasting Turkish food and is definitely a permanent favourite now!
