Lunch was good on a cloudy and rainy day. Quiet on a Monday. Was refreshing trying a new non alcoholic beverage. Thank you from a South African on holiday.

We only stopped in for Coffee, Cake & some wonderful views on a group bike ride but the staff were great, we were treated really well & both coffee & cake were top notch.

Absolutely stunning views. Course in very good condition. Tricky course and very windy so bring a lot of balls if you’re 20s handicap or worse

Hi just had an lovely lunch time meal for 6 . Food was great but found it hard to enjoy as the restaurant was very cold taking in to account that it was a cold day more heating would have made it better. My wife & I have been there many times but are 4 friends have not it makes us worried about recommending it to others. . Also my wife had a hair in her dinner which on mentioned to the staff was met with indifference

I didn't play golf but, wow, the view from the clubhouse must be one of the best of any golf club in England. Excellent food as well.

Played today (20th Dec) course in pretty good condition considering the time of year, greens were good, friendly and helpful pro shop and restaurant

We’ve been here a few times but this visit was up there with best. The food has always been great and of course stunning views over Poole harbour to enjoy but the service on this occasion was brilliant. The courses were excellently paced allowing us to have a relaxed Sunday lunch over two hours in the restaurant. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. It’s worth the taxi ride from the town centre to have a delicious traditional Sunday roast that’s great value with amazing views.

A view to die for and you don't have to be a golfer or member to enjoy it. Afternoon tea is nice, lunch bar menu is very unexciting and the actual food even less exciting, haven't eaten in the restaurant for some years but I'm told it's still good.

Took visiting friends here for a lunch on a Saturday. We’d been before but it was their 1st visit. They were thrilled with the location and views, which are superb. Our server was lovely. Wish I could remember her name, but considering I’d got the arrival time wrong and turned up 30 mins late, she was very gracious and showed us to our table with a view as requested. The food is excellent, well presented and delicious. 3 courses of this quality is well worth the £31 and you don’t have to be a member to dine there. We all thoroughly enjoyed every course. If you’re in the area and want a good lunch or dinner, you’d be missing out not to eat here.

Welcoming reception, offered a lovely table in the bar with great views. Pleasant table service and lunch ruined by the fact that we were very obviously the only table asked to pay for our food before it arrived. There were several tables around us that were not asked to settle their bills until they were ready to leave. Would like to understand the rationale for this?

Had a wonderful meal at the golf club. Very generous portion sizes and really good quality food. The view from the restaurant was incredible over looking the purbecks. Would definitely recommend dining here.

Played today was very windy but thoroughly enjoyed it and very reasonable priced as the greens and fairways are probably the best in Dorset by far and the views I don't think u can beat as king Edward once said best in his kingdom hah

Disastrous meal. Fawlty towers-esque. The barman messed up our simple three item meal order and bought a meat filled chibata for a vegetarian. He should be more concerned with remembering orders than telling ladies to take off their hats (put a sign at the door if that's the rules). Had to call for attention to order in an empty restaurant... Three staff were too busy chatting.....at one point we got to hear a waitress making insulting comments about a group of Chinese women who had just left. Totally unprofessional. Food itself was student level cooking, think bad pub food, uninspiring and basic.

I first played this fantastic course around 35 years ago and yesterday with the strong winds, bright sunshine, and drizzle in the 4 1/2 hour round, with best views of any golf course I have ever played, I could not believe the quality of the fairways, rough or greens. The day was completed with great sandwiches and beer in the wonderful clubhouse presented by very friendly helpful staff. All twelve of us will be back soon for more!!

Stunning views. Clubhouse food excellent. Only played the 9 holes course, but fine for holiday golf.

Tough but fair course and a good straight tree shot will give you your just rewards, but, if you happen to have a bit of a bad round, just look at the scenery, it's stunning!!

Don't play golf but for a reasonably priced breakfast or lunch with incredible views across the local area this is a winner. You an sit and watch the golfers tee off, yachts sailing out of Poole and the wonderful countryside. Food was surprisingly good, especially the sausages and bacon.

Possibly the best view in Dorset from such a nice golf club.

Just been for Easter Lunch and it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The finishing touches were lovely and really added to make it special. Lovely staff and owners. 💕

This is the best golf course I have ever played. It's not just the scenery - absolutely spectacular (so spectacular that it could easily be the kind of golf course that affords lovely 'texture shots' for TV cameras), but it's a golf course that makes you think. Nothing of the sort of boring parkland courses where you just hit a driver, establish the yardage to green and select that club, but the gorse is so punishing that you're continually working out where NOT to leave the ball if you miss your target in the clifftop wind. If I ruled the world, the absolutely gorgeous loop of 4-5 holes that overlooks Old Harry features too early in the round - it would make a spectacular finish and an abiding memory of the place. As it is, the final 4-5 holes are a slightly drab affair ploughing back and forth over what could be farmland in another guise. If the course had better access and slightly longer yardage, it'd befit the British Open, no question.

Played this course with my son earlier this week. Was unsure what to expect as we previously heard mixed reviews. Staff were great and the course was in incredible condition. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and will no doubt be visiting again.

1st time here, very friendly staff and service, clean and spacious room with a grand view of the golf course and the islands between Poole Harbour. Meal was very nice, we all enjoyed what we had.

Great service, beautiful views and good food. In Restaurant part £29 for a 3 course meal pp, which going by the location, I think it's reasonably priced to.

Very nice course, tough in the wind but a fair challenge. Fairways were good, greens solid. Only improvement would be to add a few more signs to make next T location clear. The clubhouse is great, amazing views and honest food. All staff were friendly - a good day out.

Great views of Poole Harbour, don't need to be a member to go in the cafe / restaurant/ bar. Friendly staff.

Always have a meal here when we are down in our caravan. Nice food, with a view to die for. Staff always helpful too. Not a member but always feel welcomed.

Had an INCREDIBLE three course lunch here... Simple, and absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked in every detail.. no fussy presentation or superfluous additions to the food.. I could not fault it.. 😃👍🏼

We ate here on Wednesday with a large group. The views from the restaurant are magnificent. The staff were brilliant! We felt very COVID secure. The food was delicious and the staff attentive, efficient and friendly. I would absolutely recommend this venue for groups or couples for an excellent dining experience. Excellent place for Sunday lunch with beautiful views

One of the best courses in the area and great value for money. Stunning views and the course was in decent shape. The greens were very good if not a little slow and the fairways are all being over-seeded. It looks like they've suffered a bit during the year. Excellent food and service in the club house.

The views from the course over Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island are truly spectacular. It is a challenging course and the greens and tees are in good condition. It is such a shame and very disappointing that over 80% of the fairways are in a truly appalling state. They are, by some distance, the worst fairways I have played on, full of deep holes, undulating ridges and bare patches. Although the fairways were being re-seeded as we played, they really need the holes to be filled and levelled. Much investment is required. The welcoming clubhouse shares those magnificent views and happily the staff and food were excellent. WHS Index 22.0 I went round in 98

Lovely unique course that will punish wayward shots. Good tees and greens. Some fairways are in need of help but some great views really make it enjoyable.

Hard golfing, as go 3 inches off the fairway and bye bye ball, I would suggest that you are ready to play straight golf for 18 hole's

Lovely views of Sandbanks, Poole, Bournemouth Isle of Wight. Great layout with excellent greens fairways was dry on quite a few but don't let that stop you from visiting. All members of staff were very friendly and helpful, and few drinks after a game of golf on the terrace with views to die for what a great way to end a perfect day.

Excellent golf course spectacular scenery

The golf course can be difficult if you are playing it for the first time,as there are a few blind holes. However the course is a good test off the back tees. Tees and greens were good but the fairways are struggling a bit but will improve in time. Nice welcoming from the Professional and staff in the club house. Would definitely want to play the course again.

Delightful pleasant gardens with many areas to explore,modern sculpture,woodland walks,picknic areas and opportunities to draw or paint.

Challenging and stunning in equal measure

Amazing views around the course. Pro shop lacked. To be honest I was very disappointed with shop, could not even by a logo golf ball!!!! Bar staff and service were excellent.

I love playing the Purbeck course and used to frequently enjoy a relaxed, cheaper round on the Dene course. However, the non fairway areas are uncut this year resulting in lost balls, loss of fun and an expensive round when you add in a few lost balls. Can you tell us if the grass will be cut soon? If not I will be reluctant to play the Dene course again.

Tough course when it's breezy but a lovely track. Typical links greens (slightly longer grass and slower) but pretty true. Staff were helpful and accommodating

Lovely golf course and club house

We ate here on Tuesday about 4.30ish - we had the fish dish which was delicious - and a very nice desert. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Incredible views across the second largest natural harbour in the World. Truly amazing. Extremely warm welcome in the Clubhouse - very accommodating and warm reception in the pro shop. Great greens. Long carries over heather gorse and many blind holes. Really challenging. We played on an idyllic day with no wind. Surely the only conditions in which to play this course!! The greens are tricky but in superb condition. The fairways less so but that reflects the heartland setting Truly a memorable experience. A bucket list must do!

A beautiful location for a golf course with absolutely amazing views over Bournemouth, Poole and Sandbanks. Worth the visit just for the views. The course layout is superb but the fairways are non existent, preferred lies if you can find any grass. Greens are very slow and wooly. If they can sort out the fairways and greens this would be a top course with some amazing holes especially 4 till 9. Though it is worth the walk for only £40, you would pay so much more if they invested the money. Strangely I enjoyed my round. Staff and clubhouse excellent.
