We were lucky enough to be served by the incredibly kind and professional Lewis. What an outstanding chap he is! Our smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on homemade toast were delicious, and the coffees (with a touch of honey by request) were exactly what we needed. The help and service we received when we mentioned our keys were locked in our car was also first rate! We'll return to Coll next year, and we'll dine here for both breakfast and dinner. See you soon!

Very nice staff. Mains very tasty and well presented, on the smaller side after an outdoor day. Service slow , even for drinks, but understand it is a small place. We weren’t keen on the Burnt Basque cheesecake but enjoyed the brownie, puddings were a good size.

Was very glad I had booked as they were having to turn folk away and with the fabulous menu it was no wonder. I was a bit worried when I arrived that there were only two other tables in but it filled up very quickly with visitors and locals. The menu was really different from your usual fayre and every dish was delicious and perfectly presented. I have to mention the Burnt Basque Cheesecake as I felt the name did not do it justice. What a taste sensation! If it is on the menu then you must try it. It was like a sort of solid bread and butter pudding consistency with a scrumptious caramelised sugar / Creme brulee taste. Rich and so comforting after a days cycling 😃 The staff were really lovely and even though they were super busy they were still genuinely friendly. A real positive when you are dining solo. They do lunch as well so if you are in Coll I would definitely recommend.

We visited twice but each time just for coffees. On both occasions service was just plain odd: friendly enough but rather random and slow. I wonder if the place is under new management and they are still learning how to do things? Menus were not on display so I cant comment on their food offerings. The cafe is popular and in a lovely location and the coffee delicious. Located in what looks like an old pub building. The interior is light and bright but simply furnished. Most seating is indoors but there is some outdoors too

Can't believe we last ate here in 2015 .. have dreamt of returning ever since and it's as good as ever. Very friendly service and superb food for the reasonable price. Still the lovely plate of 7 veges, delicious potatoes and local meats. They do half-size puds (which are about the same size as most 'normal' ones!) and we thought the bread & butter pud was very tasty. We dropped in on the Sunday after a hot cycle ride and though they were busy with their Sunday roasts (next time!), it was no trouble to provide us with 2 of their mango sorbets from the menu, which really hit the spot.

Although stopping at the local hotel, my wife and I called in here for afternoon tea on a couple of occasions, and Sunday lunch. It is a pleasantly friendly café, with quite a large menu. The afternoon tea I had was a scone with butter, jam and cream - sadly the cream was just the 'spray can' stuff, not clotted that I am used to, and was somewhat disappointing. The coffee was fine, though, and when we had Sunday lunch a couple of days later I was pleasantly surprised. I had the roast beef option, which was cooked well and very tender - it was the first time I had ever had a lunch arrive on 3 plates - one with the meat, roasties and gravy, one with about 6 different veg, and the third with an enormous Yorkshire pud. It was nearly overwhelming, but I managed to finish it all off!!! What excellent value, and highly recommended.

Visited several times in our too brief stay on Coll. Locals and visitors mingle. Menu to suit all tastes and portions large. Went with a curry recommendation - glad I did! Also enjoyed a wonderfully cooked Sunday roast. On both visits my husband had two great desserts (1each night!) that looked like a meal in their own right. Flavours were lovely and nothing to much trouble for the staff. Shop next door and takeaways available. Tables outside with view over the bay for dolphin and seal spotting! Recommend booking.

We can highly recommend this place - delicious food (and plenty of it) Wide ranging menu, including plenty of choice for vegetarians. The side dishes of veg are especially delightful. Opening hours are variable, but we didn't find it too difficult to work around them. Best book a table, as this place is very popular. If you want to eat out, you have a choice of here or the hotel (also good).

The menu is extremely varied from local meat and fish to curries and more spicy food. Something for everyone. If you want to sample pudding, definitely skip the starter as all meals are extremely filling which isn't a bad thing at all. Daytime snack menu also great. All fair trade and organic.

We popped in for coffee on our last day on the island, astounded that they don't serve cappuccino, only filter coffee. We all had tea. We shared a couple of nice scones, with jam and cream. Unfortunately the cream hadn't been whipped, but was aerated and had absolutely no flavour. Not impressed.

We have been visiting Coll for many years now and always enjoy fantastic meals at the Island Cafe including their wonderful Sunday Roast. Darren, Laura and Josh work extremely hard to cater for the customers every need and nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming even if we're just popping in for coffee, and eating there is something we always look forward to when we visit and we make sure that if we travel with relatives that they get to try the lovely food also. Thank you.
