Arrived at noon for Sunday lunch with friends. Despite the fact that it was just opening it was packed. We did manage to find ourselves a table in a smallish room with a log fire. Very dog friendly, almost as many dogs as people, im not a big fan of dogs in restaurants but realise many people like to bring dogs after a walk. Spare a thought for people that may be allergic to dogs though.

Took my wife here for an A La Carte meal. A very limited menu which wasn't impressive at all, and neither was the food, which appears to be prepared by a Chef who cooks for himself rather than ordinary mortals. Rather pricey and certainly not value for money. The few plusses are a nicely set out dining room and quality serving staff.. Doubt that I'll riush back - the Gibbon Bridge knocks spots off it.

We'd heard good things about the Forest of Bowland restaurants and the Inn at Whitewell in particular. The dining room was sparsely populated the evening we had dinner, so the atmosphere was on the quiet side. The dining experience was mixed, with excellent wines, OK-ish starter and pudding, but an underwhelming lamb main course. We'll put this down to an off night and try again sometime soon.

Millie's, Hurst Green

18/01/2020: Popped in here for a mid morning break and was immediately impressed by the friendly welcome from the staff. It’s a small café with a range of freshly made cakes sandwiches, toasties, etc plus drinks. We shared a very tasty scone with jam & cream and also tried their carrot cake which was also good. We would certainly use again when next in the area.
29/02/2020: Staying at a Travelodge meant I was on the hunt for breakfast - usual haunt Wetherspoons for Eggs Benedict but some of the exhibitors suggested Millies - great choice. Lovely breakfast and a super barm for lunch - will certainly visit again in August
