Yummy food as always, only had a chip and cob today but fresh chips lovely cobs, have had many things from here and it's yummy, looks like it's had a make over too looks good and clean,

Would not recommend. Fish and Chips gave me food poisoning! And always so chaotic and unorganised in the shop.

The food has gone down hill especially the chips just not edible brown crispy they taste and looked like there bein reheated more than once twice now they've gone in bin so no more inky chippy we'll stick to chesters

Well its been a while but it will be even longer Myself chips sausage beans. Absolutely awful chips hard and batter on sausage rock hard definitely not fresh. My lads had kebab Rock hard and no flavour sorry had used this place for over 30 years will not be rushing there again

Ordered from Deliveroo and after 20 minutes they cancelled the order with no explanation. Won’t be ordering again

First time we have been and have to say it was really good.The cod was chunky,nice and white and really delicious Only had a small portion of chips and there were more than enough. At £7.70 its was a bargain

This is a great chippy to go to, the staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome. The food is also great here, never had a bad meal from here yet. A nice variety of food to choose from and at reasonable prices too. Highly recommend this chippy.

Wouldn't even give it one star - bright green mushy peas that congealed - fish smelt old and not much fish in batter - chips OK - always looked forward to an Inky special but not anymore

We visited this chip shop recently with a large order, the service was qood, we had to wait for our food to be cooked so went over the road to the pub, when we returned our food was all ready at time we had been told, food was all cooked fresh, tasted good and reasonably priced.

Very poor large cod bought today. Overcooked batter and no fish in tail end at all. Not worth £6.20. Wont be buying it again.. This is the second time. Sorry to say this.

Chippy takeaway but disappointed with chips as didn't seem to be properly cooked through, had a taste ad if had been warmed up again. Had another takeaway from here recently. Fish & chips ok but pie was very dry with hard crust, couldn't eat it as meat was all dried up!!

First time ordering from here and very impressed! Food arrived very quickly, was hot and the portion sizes are huge for what you pay! Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Just had fish,chips and peas from here and I must say they were not enjoyable, I had to take all the batter off the fish due to it not being cooked! , chips were hard and peas very bright green and dry!! Will not be buying from here again, back to going to chesters just thought we would give it another chance ( we had food from here a while ago and it was poor then too)

The people that work here are always happy and smiling which is great. The food is always excellent and fast too. Whenever my little boy pops in with me he comes away with a lollipop or 2. Best chippy in the area in my opinion.

Terrible, always get order wrong by missing things out, forgot to put sausage and curry sauce that we had paid for. Fish was grey and slimy, not good. Will not be coming here again

Inky chippy. Thought I would try a kebab. Perfetic, gave me enough food for 5 people, pilled it in a tray like sick. I asked them to take some of but they said no. Absolutely horrid it was. Went out window it did. And I asked for chilly sauce, pilled that all over the meal. Iv never known anything like it. It was has heavy has a brick. and it was stone cold, salad was soggy and cut up with a blunt knife. chips where stone cold and covered with grease.

Brilliant chippy. Tonnes of food ready to go. Chicken kebab really packed with flavour and a good choice of fish, sausages, pies etc

Hadn't had chips for more than 3 months and just fancied some. The cod I bought on impulse with them too absolutely hit the spot too. Sadly, I didn't win the lottery with the ticket I bought on Friday from the Spar shop at the other end of the parade, but when next I fancy chips, why not?

This chip shop was discovered by myself during lockdown 1 as we were unhappy with the standard of our previous chip shop. This shop is immaculate, fish fried to order and kebab meat and salad is always fresh. If you want anything specific or are not happy with what you see, just tell the owner who will be more than happy to help. Definite new favourite 🤩

So having read the reviews i was a little apprehensive about going. I had a kids meal for my granddaughter. Nuggets were put in when i ordered so very fresh chips fresh also. Found out they do Hallumi friters & burgers so going to give them a try at some point also. I really can't complain about anything shop clean. The Greek lady whom i presume is the owner was lovely. My granddaughter loved her kids meal & is colouring with the pencil's & book she got with her meal.

We visit the friendly chippy every Thursday after a dance lesson we order by phone and collect. The food is well cooked and delicious. Value for money. Recommend to all.

dreadful dried fish. worst i can ever remember having from anywhere

First and last visit to Inky Chip Box, nice sign on the door 'due to government guidelines only one person in shop at one time' I was beckoned in when someone was already in the shop and then when I went in two other people came in and they didn't say a word. Also the younger of the female server bothered to put a mask on but couldn't be bothered to put it over her nose. Thanks but no thanks, don't bother saying you're gonna do something and then not even make out your doing it

Awful chip shop, if this is our traditional meal then we are in a state.Produce re heated i know for fact as someone who works there told me, gone drastically down hill after being a great chippy, I kept going back but now vowed to never use again, its absolute rubbish, if i could minus score I would

Just got a portion of chips, at 17.20. 2 minutes later got home to discover they were chips left over from lunch , fried again at 16.50 before opening. Then sat for 20 minutes ! I have read the bad reviews, heard so many more people saying how bad it is now, but as I usually have just sausages, I have not noticed. After today's disgusting day of reheated left overs ( oily, pale, but overcooked, and so hard, and chewy ) we have finally vowed never to return again ! I write reviews on here every couple of years, (good/bad) for food, accommodation, holidays ect, but this food was so poor i had to comment ! I can't believe it has took me this long, after I have head/read so many bad things about it since the new owners took over ! Would give it minus mark , but I can't !

I had chicken kebab wraps with chips at teatime. We had been on a day trip and couldnt be bothered to cook so decided on takeaway, It used to be lovely but its deteriorated rapidly, I put a message on the local inkersall page to see if it was just an off day but from the 60 plus messages it appears its a regular occurrence. The chips were definitely not fresh it was like they had been reheated, dry and just awful the majority went in the bin. The kebab was tasty but I had to pull a bit of soggy lettuce out. I wont be going back any time soon.

Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fish was dry, thin and tasteless. Soggy on bottom with fat and found a couple of bones. Chips again dry and small. On a positive note service ok but it’s £5 wasted

My husband fetched fish and chips he bought two fish and a large chips the large chips were enormous the fish was soggy the chips with little bits we were so disappointed because it's the first time we've used it since the new owners have been in and really looking forward to these fish and chips because we have no takeaway since the lockdown the worst fish and chips we've had for ages so we will not be going there again

If you visit this chippy you will not be disappointed. Good menu selection reasonably priced and lovely tasting food.

It's not bad, sometimes hit and miss and depends on what time you go.

Hubby decided to try here after we were unhappy with our local chippy and I’m sooooo glad, they were the best fish and chips I’ve had and the size of the fish..... I couldn’t eat it all. We’ll definitely be going back 😉

My husband and I often go to Inky chippy and have never had any issues, until today. We had both ordered kebab meals and the chips that came with them was absolutely awful. They were full of hard bits and not edible.

This chippy has had a complete re-furbish and is clean and smart. the fish and chios are good value. The staff are very helpfull

This is a local fish and chip shop based in the square in Inkersall. It offers fish and chips at a good price and is very popular with the school children at lunchtime from nearby Springwell Academy. Do bear in mind between 12.00 and 13.00 it is very busy so maybe avoid these times. The fish is nicely cooked in light batter but sometimes the chips are hit or miss as I like crisp chips but on occasions they have been soft and not cooked properly this could be down to the oil not being hot enough. They also offer nice kebabs but only Doner and Chicken Doners which are not too everybody's liking. Also why this scored only 3 out of 5 for me is because they do not offer any Gluten Free options which as my wife is coeliac she cannot eat any of their food which is a real shame. But if you want a nice meal then visit here but just choose your hours wisely.

Been here quite a lot and used to be lovely if not a bit expensive for what it is. However, just lately I’ve had a few bad experiences. Complained and they didn’t care or want to sort it. So not going again, it’s not difficult to find somewhere better that will appreciate custom a bit more than these lot.

It's ok, not a patch on Brimington chippy, been let down several times, learnt my lesson, need I say more.

Every time I visit Chesterfield I have to eat fish and chips from Inky Chip Box. I have tried from other places too, but I have to admit these are the best. Butter on the fish is heaven and chips are so tasty. In addition, donner kebab, pies, all is fantastic. Personnel very polite, especially the owner is very friendly. Clean place. It is only for take away. Trust me IS A MUST to try.

Not bad chippy overall, not the cheapest but very busy on Fridays;-)

One of the best fish and chips I have had, great choice of food and good quality

Most of the staff are lovely local ladies, great fun and chatty. Sadly they aren't all like it. In terms of the food quality, this can vary widely. Sometimes the fish is really nice, white and tasty, other times its like shredded fish and grey in colour with no flavour at all. The last few times I've bought from there, the food temperature was low and I've had to put everything in the microwave to warm it through. No-one should have to do this and I honestly feel this shop is not valuing it's custom. I won't be back.

absolute quality food! best i've had! i would choose this over any other take away or fast food or even a restaurant, the staff are the loveliest women i've met (lovelier than me mum), always up for a chat and make you feel better. They offer job opportunities and would be a great time with such a nice group of people, always enthusiastic and makes me laugh! Honestly brings a tear to my eye when i get the scrumdillyumptious food and have to leave such a great group of people and such a nice place PS the battered doner balls are a peng ting (thats for all you youths out there) ;)

Expensive and not great quality.

Just moved into the area and people said try Inky chippy,[said was great],I'm afraid the product was far from that..The small fish x 2 was saturated with oil,resulting in batter beind soggy.And not much fish in it either.Chips went in my dog,and as for the peas,I know they call them mushy peas,but they were more like green gravy.All in all £7.20 for a small fish meal + small fish a peas...get a grip man.I bought Icelands fish portions,there was more decent fish in 1 peice than was in 2 from the chippy. Needless to say,I won't be passing anymore coins over that counter...Very poor

Me and grandaugher.wanted fish and chips peas. When we got home.we only had chips and peas. They forgot the fish.had to go back.when we got back home again.i had little sprat of a fish. Little girls. Was not on.chips were just mush. Did not want to give this any stars But review would not let me. DISAPPOINTED#?😕
