Quiet atmosphere, exquisite cleanliness, very good food and impeccable service

Quieter evening in the restaurant, however the service we received was excellent! Very attentive! The food was delicious and they also arranged some happy birthday music and a dessert with candle for my 12 year old son!!!! Will definitely come again!!! Thank you 😊

We’ve had a few visits here now either as a couple or with friends and family. The food has been consistently good and the owner and his staff have taken a genuine interest in how we enjoyed the food or tweaking it with extra chillies for example. Smartly dressed and polite waiters set it above the average ‘Indian.’

First time out, would highly recommend this place to my friends or anyone for that matter.

Visited Bedford for a night before a track day. Indiya was probably one of the best curry I’ve had! Staff were both attentive, and meticulous; we discussed sharing an onion bhaji and they served a single bhaji on two plates - complete with accompaniments. My naga-spice level Jalfrezi was a perfectly balanced dish. 100% will go again next time I’m up in Bedford.

nothing short of an excellent experience at Indiya. The food is fresh and delicious, the restaurant itself is immaculate and the staff are extremely friendly and informative! What’s even better is the quality doesn’t lessen when you opt for the takeaway option, which is a problem i often find with other restaurants. That’s why I will always choose Indiya, it’s unbeatable!

We visited Indiya Restaurant in Bedford for dinner and were disappointed with our experience. We read the reviews about the place and were excited to try out the Indian vegetarian food they had to offer. However, when our order arrived, we were disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food. The flavours were not as rich and authentic as we had hoped, and the portions were quite small for the price. The service at the restaurant was also lacking. Our server seemed disinterested in our dining experience and was slow to refill our drinks or check on us. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and when it did, it was lukewarm at best. The dishes lacked flavour and were quite bland. The portion sizes were also small for the price we paid. The restaurant was also quite noisy, which made it difficult to have a conversation. It felt cramped and stuffy and did not have the ambiance that we would expect from a good restaurant. The overall experience was not worth the cost. We would not recommend this Restaurant to others, and we do not plan on returning. There are plenty of other options in Bedford that offer better-quality Indian vegetarian food at a similar or lower price. Additionally, the behaviour of one of the Bangladeshi waiters was particularly rude and unprofessional. He seemed annoyed when we asked for recommendations and rolled his eyes when we requested additional napkins. He was dismissive and impatient when we asked for the check, making us feel unwelcome in the restaurant. His attitude towards us as customers was unacceptable and made for a very unpleasant dining experience. It's unfortunate that such behaviour from one individual can tarnish the entire dining experience.

This place is a real gem, that once you visit, will have you returning time and time again. The food is wonderful, cooked fresh and never disappoints. The service is first class, they always take care of you. It’s a fantastic experience, give it a go you will not be disappointed!

Just had the worst takeaway from Indiya. Quality is nowhere near as good as when dining in. Cold food, onion bhaji's hard on outside not cooked inside. Veg curry had old cauliflower. Will not use again.

We came to celebrate the 11th anniversary of our engagement, we'll have been married 44 years in August! YES, I did ask Geoff to marry me as it was 29th Feb!! 💙😁 Our meal was absolutely delicious 😋 Geoff had salmon fishcakes with mango salsa to start then Sultan's chicken & mango for his main course with pilau rice. I had tequila & lime grilled prawns to start followed by Indiyan Sizzler with a chapati. The flavours were sublime, I can't wait to visit again. We finished our meal with an ice cream each. P0 The staff were really friendly & when I needed to visit the Ladies room wow!! It was SO beautiful, the floor tiles, washing bowl, tissues, soap every last detail had been thought of....& it was spotlessly clean! A fantastic evening out, I can highly recommend Indiya.

Wonderful meal excellent tasty food served efficiently

Took half an hour for drinks and that was after 3 people took our order. Took 40 minutes for starters. The main course was very disappointing. After waiting another half an hour, it tasted like paste. Trying to order another drink was another headache in the end we just left. Overall I have been here a few times now, and this is my worst experience.

Was originally our second choice for dinner but by the end of the meal really pleased we’d ended up there. Great choice on the menu with all the standard Indian dishes but complimented with their signature dishes. Starter of salmon fish cakes & mixed grill followed by lamb shanks plus chicken and mince meat. All great flavours without need to blow your head off! Will visit again.

Bedford has too many Indian restaurants. Authencity is maintained in fewer. But this food place is blessed with the real desi taste. A one stop shop for anyone who is an Indian cuisine lover .

Ordered a takeaway on Saturday,which well short of the advised one hour wait - hurrah! The coriander duck curry and nomad lamb with cumin rice, arrived with free poppadum balls, chickpea chana, 2 dips plus extra sprinkles for the mains. All courses were flavoursome with special mentions to the meats in both the mains, tasty and perfectly prepared. . Five stars for this!

Went many times in 2023, recently in August. Excellent service and food.

Was expecting more to be honest, I was not impressed with the quality of the food. I had a mixed grill, I don’t think it was fresh. Not much spiced, it was bland for me. Also, mixed grill comes with a salad, the salad was wild rocket, onion and radish- which was very tiny portion. Chicken briyani didn’t taste fresh either, not much taste. My sister had prawn jalfrezi and she did like it. Wait for the food was around 30mins, staff were pleasant and polite. Decor is ok, there is a car park not far from the restaurant (not free)

This is an excellent spot for a lovely casual dinner. The waiters were helpful in explaining the composition of the various dishes. The starters were tasty and the meal filling. Tucked away it's an unexpected escape via the route of exotic cuisine right in down town Beford. You will relish the visit and the meal and surely want to come again. Your tastebuds will thank you.

As good as I've had outside of Mumbai. Staff clearly care as it's a lovely place and everything is done with genuine consideration. Prices aimed so that it's not just for the odd special occasion - you spend more at Pizza Express up the road and this is a whole world better than that

The food and service were really good and matched the price. The atmosphere and the social facilities are clean and ok, but could be more modern and of better quality.

We ordered for delivery and we were disappointed with our food. The pakora batter was thick and not crispy, the portion sizes were tiny and the food was really bland. Don't usually leave bad reviews but we didn't eat a lot of our food after waiting nearly 1 hour 20 mins for our food.

Food was Devine . The staff were so helpful accommodating to our dietary needs. Will be back soon .

The best and most amazing Indian food of Bedford I can say. We organised our baby's first get-together. From the day of our planning to the last minute of leaving...the entire staff, manager and cook were so hospitable. I and all our guests were so mesmerised by the reception, food quality, and proportion customisation...the staff gave us the dining experience of a star restaurant. Now my all guests have scheduled to throw their party here only in Bedford. They even took care of kids and teens who were allergic to foods by giving replacements...without charging extra. I am speechless with everything we received. We forgot to bring a few things back home. The very next evening I was again warmly welcomed and I felt so amazing. Dining is not just a business for them...also keeping diners happy so that they keep returning it the key to their success.

Excellent food, atmosphere was relaxed and vibrant (already beginning to get busy at 5pm Saturday). Lovely decor with the fabulous fish tank. Would definitely recommend this spot for small dinners or big gatherings. Plenty of parking right next door. The food was so authentic and tasty :) Service was wonderful. 5 star from us!

One of the best places for Indian food, tasted amazingly fresh, light and great service.

Visited this place with family from out of town. We ordered the platter, the food looked lost on the platter as there was so little of it. Strangely we all felt that the food was bland, almost sweet so we specially ordered food with extra chilli. We ordered the chicken jalfrezi, king prawn curry and fish curry. All of the food tasted under seasoned and once again it was sweet, inedible and disappointing. My verdict is that the food is definitely not cooked authentically, in fact I would go as far as to say it's reheated from frozen. Stay away from here if you like your food seasoned and cooked authentically. A real shame.

Visited here last evening with a close friend, such a nice place Décor is good, Seating is comfortable and without being crammed in on top of each other, the food was so tasty and well presented and at a reasonable cost, will defiantly go back...

Went for dinner with family. We ordered the platter for our starter and then followed by Bengal King Prawn curry, chicken Jalfrezi & Bengal fish fry. Accompanied by rice. We should've known what was to come when the starters arrived. They looked and tasted like they were shop brought & cooked from frozen. The mains were bland and flavourless. The rice was not freshly cooked and seemd to be a day or two old and just reheated. We didnt finish our food. I hardly touched mine. It was such a disappointment, will never be returning or recommending this restaurant.
