Indigo in City of London, Westminster

As a coeliac I was in heaven. To be able to have absolutely anything from the menu was a real treat. I so often feel like I’ve been handed a menu written on a Post It Note! We went for the tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was deliciously and the wine complemented each course perfectly. Our waiter was very pleasant and extremely knowledgable. Each course was explained to us , as was the accompanying wine. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Vegetarians should steer clear! The food was disappointing. Vegetarian main dishes were simply awful. The Wild Mushroom Wellington was a lump of almost raw celeriac wrapped in pastry. It seemed as though the chef wanted to mock vegetarians, testing what dreadful dishes could be accepted. The Potato Galette had its ring of potatoes, the key constituent of the dish, burned to an awful bitterness. This was obvious by a simple glance at the dish. Again, it felt as though there was almost a contempt for vegetarian diners. The red meat dishes were good, at least, but a restaurant at this level should not be having such clear failures. We were more impressed by the Pre Theatre Menu. The prices of the A La Carte were not in any way justified, given that some of the dishes were so very disappointing. One important saving grace was that the service was absolutely impeccable, across two visits.

The best gluten free bread I've ever eaten. Very nice service, very accommodating. We had fish and chips, also very tasty.

Simply the best restaurant a gluten and dairy free victim can experience, hands down.. the best! To have an a la carte menu at this high standard in your hands knowing you can have absolutely everything is an experience worth going for again and again, and so I will.

We came to this place as we expected it to be all gluten free. However, that seems not to be the case for breakfast. They had some gluten free options for breakfast, but I took the royal egg benedict and while they had breakfast muffins on the menu for another dish, the egg benedicts came with toast at the bottom. I wouldn't mind this at another restaurant, but as I was expecting a great gluten free experience, I was disappointed.

Luxurious setting with great service. From cocktails and nibbles in the bar to the vegan tasting menu with wine pairing in Indigo the whole experience was faultless. Highly recommended.

Such a delight to eat fantastically gluten free tasty food with confidence

Indigo is a favourite. Service is terrific. The food is delightful and the menu is entirely gluten free. Good wine list. The dining room is on the mezzanine above the lounge, so there's a bit of disturbance when the barmen use their electric blender. Three courses ~£70pp +wine.

Great place, more towards fine dining. Friendly staff and fantastic that all food is gluten free and milk free. As pescatarians not a lot of choice, but if you are a meat eater there’s a lot to be had here. Nice surroundings, and great location for pre-theater dinner

We were there to celebrate my partner birthday and i choose this place and occasion to propose her. We had cocktails, starter, main and side. The service and the food was absolutely fantastic, excellent costumer service, staff are very friendly. Food was absolutely delicious, you definitely get what you paid for. Julian and Luchio were an absolute gentleman with a lots of knowledge and friendly, respectful, excellent costumer service focused. The staff even gave us a “congratulations “ card what was absolute shocking in a positive way, me and my partner are very happy and we are definitely coming back! Thank you all!

What a treat for my wife to enjoy delicious gluten free food on her birthday. Service was excellent and we began with some warm sourdough bread which was the best GF bread she had ever had (they even gave her the recipe). Our starters of pork cheek and scallops were amazing (sauce with the pork was divine). Then for mains Fish and Chips and chicken with white beans, both equally as wonderful. A nice surprise was them producing a little birthday cake to go along with our coffee and petit fours. The Gruner Veltliner wine took us back to Vienna. Would recommend Indigo to any one with a Gluten allergy or not. A lovely experience.

This place is the essence of undercover. A hidden elite cocktail menu. Really excellent service. The food is so understated on the menu. It. Is. Exquisite. Everything. Make sure you visit the toilet before you leave, because even that is incredible.

We were initially seduced by Indigo's dairy and gluten-free dishes and we were eventually conquered by the outstanding service and quality of the products. A family of four's dinner can easily reach £200 however.

A very elegant and chic restaurant located inside a design hotel in the beautiful theater district. The menu, by choice of the chef, is completely gluten free, but the variety, quality and composition of the same is not affected at all. As a starter I ate a very delicate venison tartare with quail egg, I also tasted the watercress soup with poached egg that my girlfriend ordered, divinely served and truly tasty and delicate. My main course was a very tender lamb fillet on a bed of aubergines, capers and anchovies. Impeccable service from every point of view

Hele goede service. Het personeel helpt je netjes en geeft vriendelijk antwoord op je vragen. Wij hebben een drie gangen menu gegeten en het eten was lekker en vers. De desserts zagen er heel mooi uit en ze smaakte ook heerlijk. Daarnaast was de wijn ook heerlijk en dit werd netjes ingeschonken door het personeel. Het enige wat een beetje tegenviel was dat alle gerechten heel snel achter elkaar kwamen, maar misschien had dat te maken met de kerstdrukte, dus dat is ook wel begrijpelijk.

It's a Christmas tradition now ,always come in for Cocktails in the lobby bar.Had some bar food as well ,which was good but portion size was small for the price.The Cocktails as usual were very good and service impeccable, it has a lovely atmosphere in the bar .

Total failure to meet Indigo’s basic promise of pre theater meal. We booked this restaurant from the US specifically because of its promise of its pre theatre special menu and service. We relied on their local knowledge and advise and booked at 6 for a 7:30 curtain . We Arrived at 6:05 ( delayed by an misdirected Uber) and seated promptly and ordered the simplest pre theatre menu after we confirmed our theatre plans and need for extra time as slow walkers. They confirmed no issues. Food and drink was fine but no time to eat as the entree arrived 10 minutes before our required departure time. If you can’t meet your promise, don’t promise. Totally failed.

My friends and I decided to split the bill so we could each pay for what we ate. The waitress decided to split the bill equally three ways without consulting us and then proceeded to pick up my friend's debit card and tap it on the card machine without her permission. Food was good but won't be back.

Excellent pre theatre set meal. You don’t eat here for the large portions. You eat here for high quality gluten/dairy free food in an excellent location. One of the male waiters was passable at his job. The female hostess waitress rescued the evening with excellent service. The bread is fantastic.

The drinks were a highlight with great flavors and variety, but the overall experience was hindered by lackluster customer service. The staff seemed poorly trained, impacting the overall enjoyment of the visit. With improved service, it could be a top-notch spot.

Indigo was the first dinner meal my mom and I had in London and it has set the bar extremely high. The staff is so friendly and hospitable, the food delicious, and the environment warm, classy, and inviting. Highly recommend the fish and chips! So so good.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience here. Everything on the menu is gluten and dairy free. We ordered off the set menu, two courses for £35/person. That said by the time we added sides, a couple of drinks etc the bill was almost twice what we were orignlinally expecting and we weren't lavish. It is quite upmarket too as a restaurant. All that said if I was in London again I would definitely go back!

Had a cracking meal here last weekend for our sons 18th birthday organized by Dominic Teague, the Head Chef at very short notice. Drinks in the atmospheric bar were great, we were expertly looked after by Eduardo throughout. Some of the lovely food included Quail Ballotine, lovely smoked salmon, venison with beetroot, great gourmet fish and chips, monkfish and steak. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere - great job to all, well done, loved everything!!!

Great for a full gluten free menu

This was, without a doubt, the best experience I’ve had at a restaurant. As someone with celiac disease and a dairy allergy, it was the first time I’ve ever been able to order from the entire menu, without any substitutions or compromises. The service was phenomenal. As a solo diner, they even brought over a QR code so I could access news or magazines to read during dinner (a step above, in my opinion). It’s pricey, but for the comfort of having a safe and delicious dinner, it was worth every penny. I had the three course pre-theatre menu and each dish was amazing.

Had the tasting menu here last night. Prices are obscene so you hope it's gonna be good. Service was good and staff very friendly. The tiny Cornish pasty was kind of ok, but mostly pastry and could have come from the Gregg's over the road Next was a poached egg served on some cold, uncooked potatoes which in my view were inedible. Possibly a new cooking style I've missed. The halibut was nice but very salty. The lamb was nice (I love lamb) although not among the best I've had. Then came a scone with some cream which was fine if quite heavy. Then the major crime: a chocolate cheesecake that looked delightfully chocolatey but gave not even a hint of chocolate flavour, tasting only of sour yogurt to me. I honestly could have cried. Wine was nice but it should be for 12 quid a glass minimum! Overall good very disappointing

This place is absolutely perfect. The food is so good!! There are so many options for gluten-free food. The service is spectacular!! Our waitress was lovely and charming! And the place itself is so nice and comfortable, and when we were there, there was a live single who did covers for great songs. Very recommended!!

I have been to many restaurants in London with friends who are gluten free where the joy of the menu has been taken away when you. Arrow down to the gluten-free options. So imagine the sheer delight in my friends face to discover that 100% of the menu is gluten free - simple pleasures of pastry , bread , fish in batter , puddings could all be enjoyed - the full range of the menu was available. I myself am not in a gluten-free diet and the flip side of my worry was would I enjoy the food. I shouldn’t have worried - the food was delicious - the warm bread rolls were lovely , I enjoyed some Cornish crab and the. Devon Lamb with a strawberry brûlée for dessert. Full marks to the chef and the kitchen. The price was reasonable - not cheap but by London standards quite reasonable. My only small niggle was that the building acoustics meant the noise from downstairs in the bar made it difficult to chat at times - I would ask for a table further away from the balcony next time I would recommend whether you are Gluten free or not - but if you are with someone who is Gluten Free take a picture of that moment when they first grasp that they can choose from the entire menu

Indigo is located on the first floor of the one Aldwych hotel. It’s a mezzanine floor looking out to the bar downstairs, slight lower ceilings with Nice interior, Warm welcome. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We have a show at 7.30 and opted for the theatre menu. The tomato salad was good as was the chicken terrine. The pork dish was presented beautifully with a little cup of mushrooms, pancetta and peas. Sauce was excellent. An excellent choice for dining around Theaterland.

I was taken there for my birthday last week and what a treat it was! As usual we were treated like royalty by the staff, in particular our wonderful waiter who has looked after us for years whose name I always think starts with an S but he assures me it starts with a T, he knows who I mean!! Wonderful food as always, the chocolate desert was out of this world then they presented me another chocolate confection with a candle in it for my birthday! Along with complimentary glasses of Champagne and goody bags of Honeycomb I was really spoilt. Thoroughly recommended!

Dined with our two granddaughters to celebrate the youngest's 21st birthday. The service was first class as was the Cornish Tasting Menu. Although the restaurant was becoming busy, the service did not slacken and we were made to feel comfortable and not rushed. A nice touch was the candle to celebrate the birthday on a piece of patisserie which was boxed so that it could be taken home. Thoroughly recommended.

Visited with my wife for our anniversary. I had booked the vegan tasting menu for both of us. Amazing service from start to finish. I requested a few changes to the menu due to food allergies and they accommodated this with great alternatives. Delicious food in a comfortable modern setting.

Had a great anniversary dinner here on our recent trip. Chosen due to the gluten free menu, but also a nice upscale restaurant, appropriate for the occasion. The monkfish wrapped in seaweed was awesome and one of the best dishes of the trip!

It has been our daughter's wish to attend the afternoon tea as part of her first London experience. After long consideration we chose Indigo as we wanted it to be really special and faultless. Unfortunately our experience has been underwhelming even without considering the cost. Savoury dishes were the better part of the experience while the scones were not edible and we didn't finish them (felt like eating baking powder with a spoon). Sweets were a let down also, presentation in favour of taste. Our daughter commented my sweets are way more delicious. Tea on the other hand was superb. Service very basic, our tea was never topped up nor were we asked why our scones were going back. We were considering also a dinner at Indigo restaurant but decided against it after this experience. Really not worth it.

Started off with amazing cocktails in the lovely downstairs bar, followed by being seated at the best table in restaurant. Had the tasting menu with the wine flight, excellent food and value. Chose Indigo as my wife is coeliac and their menu is totally gluten free. We had some great cocktails beforehand in the lobby bar where all the staff were so attentive and welcoming. We then went upstairs for dinner and can only say that the staff there were as superb as their colleagues downstairs. We both thoroughly enjoyed our appetisers, Dorset Crab and Heritage Beetroot, followed by wonderful dishes for mains, Halibut and Celeriac/Truffle. We shared a cheesecake for dessert which was an excellent finish to our meal. Didn't get the name of our wonderful lady waitress but she and her colleague Julian were full of smiles and helped make it a very special evening for us both. Will be back very soon!

We arrived early for our meal and were asked if we would like to go to the bar where we enjoyed a pre dinner drink before taking our seats upstairs in the restaurant. The table overlooked the bar and it was perfect for people watching. Despite it being early there was a great atmosphere in both the restaurant and bar. We chose dinner from the set menu which was very good value. Starters of smoked salmon, chicken for mains and pistachio cake for dessert. Every course was well presented and delicious. My daughter is coeliac and was delighted to find everything dairy and gluten free. The staff are friendly and efficient. It was a nice leisurely meal and we then ambled down to the theatre. Just perfect!

The quality of the food and the quality of the service was fantastic. One of the party has multiple food intolerances above the gluten and dairy free nature of their kitchen and they worked really hard to ensure that their meal and experience was as good as everyone else’s. We went there for a treat and would go back again for the next treat meal. As a side note, the in house made gluten free bread was the best I have ever eaten!

My partner chose this restaurant as the kitchen is entirely gluten free so it is brilliant to find somewhere where everything on the menu is suitable. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff who explained the menu very well and had recommendations.Food and drinks arrived quickly and more than exceeded our expectations. Bread also arrived with our started which was warm and fresh out the oven and very much impressed my partner as gluten free bread can sometimes be hit and miss.The better surprise arrived when we discovered that as guests of the hotel we also got a discount on our bill in the restaurant. The next day we also had afternoon tea here, where they easily also catered to a member of our party who was vegetarian with a menu that closely matched that of the rest of us. This was again an excellent culinary experience. Would recommend thoroughly either dining or the afternoon tea.
