Indian Ocean in Manchester

The food was terrible. Has the chef left??? Even the poppadom mint yoghurt was tasteless and warm??!! Oh well we will try somewhere else next time. Not a recommendation from me.

On 25dec they welcomed us late night, very much appreciated. Food was good for the price we paid, cost friendly Staff was very friendly and polite. Parking available.

We really feel comfortable in the Indian Ocean. We always feel welcome, well looked after and have always enjoyed the food.

Had our Christmas meal in here yesterday. Can't fault it. Food was fresh, delicious and amazing. Service was brilliant. Thank you so much. Will definitely return.

My first visit, I got the sirloin steak as I didn't like the look of the bright red tikka masala ,the steak was horrible, no taste, there was 6 of us, no one enjoyed there meal, the staff was lovely and made us feel very welcome, I wont eat there again, I will stick to Arnero in Manchester.

Appalling service, or lack there of. Was there for 2.5 hours where we had starters. Chased on mains and they could only say “it’s coming”. Soft drink and pint flatter than tap water. Actual food was decent. Shame the service let it down majorly. Asked for mains to go as it was going on to 3 hours since we were seated. Tried to overcharge us. We clearly weren’t the only table with these issues though. Would never come back. How does a food establishment manage to screw the one thing they need to do so majorly? No apologies or anything.

It the 1st time eating from here I very happy and my kid are fussy eater that eating form here

Had take out yesterday and all I can say is disappointed..... Lamb chop starter for £6 and only 2 tiny chops....the jalfrezi was definitely not a jalfrezi and aldi do better....Pilau rice was dry and clumped together....

Here I am Sat in the Indian Ocean - surrounded by some of the finest dining opportunities - served with a smile and a quality of service second to none - Every time I visit Manchester this is a port of call. Superb Dining experience - and sublime food!!

Well for the price, absolutely 5 stars. I was searching for a bengali restaurant as Pakistani ones are more spicy and less variety. Stumbled upon this , price was on the cheaper end compared to other places but food was spot on. Maybe put a bit more meat in some dishes and atmosphere is ok > but that's minor . I'm interested in tasty food at a good price and this is it

Absolutely gorgeous food and fantastic staff. They open the doors for, pull your chairs out and in as you sit down. They chat to you and love to hear about your day

We ordered a delivery and it never turned up. This is so poor please don’t take orders if you can’t fulfil them. We have had delivery from this restaurant so many times it’s just so disappointing. Won’t use again

Travelled 30 miles for a Birthday treat. What a fantastic experience. We received the best customer service, staff were ever so welcoming and took good care of us. They really did make us feel special. Food was cooked with a lot of care and attention which really exceeded our expectation. I’ve not had such high quality curries like that in years, bursting in flavours and aroma, cooked with fresh premium ingredients. We had their house special with lamb and a roshoni chicken tikka with naga.

Ordered the chefs special tikka masala something that you think is gonna be spicy just by hearing the name but it is nowhere near spicy it was so so damnn sweet so very very veryyyy sweet it felt like I was eating a coconut cream mixed with 10 packets of sugar

Made to wait for a simple set meal for 2 with no frills for nearly 2 hours ,. Phoned them back to see where my food was to be told they was waiting for a driver. Currys nice but not nice enough to wait this long. the waiting time is an absolute joke. Won't be going back here. 2/10

Visited this great restaurant on Saturday evening given a friendly welcome on arrival.Chose my meal didn’t have to wait to long even though busy when it arrived there was plenty of it and really warm.Very tasty food and great service really nice lads great atmosphere would highly recommend this restaurant value for money a big thanks to all the staff not forgetting the chefs etc 👍

Great food. An amazing find in Heaton Park area of Manchester. They serve very high quality food. We went in a group of 16 on a Bank holiday weekend and they helped their best to arrange us. The staff were welcoming and professional. We tried Sheek Kebabs and King Prawn Poori for first course. In the Mains, we had Butter Naan, Daal Tadka 👌, Keema and Garlic Chicken Bhuna. The starters were delicious while definitely the daal stole the show. Good to have such Indian food.

Visited the restaurant on the evening of Thursday august 18th for my friend’s surprise 32nd birthday.Nothing was to much for MEZ & AOWAL on our visit to there restaurant on this special night thanks lads brilliant.On arrival kitted our area out in ballon’s etc once the birthday boy arrived the party for six of us could start the entire night was fabulous the food from start to finish was superb great chefs top quality service from the boys was looked after so well really nice friendly restaurant to go with quality food & drink throughout.To top the night off the owner’s brought out a cake with candles singing happy birthday to our star guest.Can highly recommend this restaurant it’s short of nothing but a great night brilliant food great people 👍

Food was OK. Would eat again. Waiter we had this time was over familiar to the point of impertinent , asked inappropriate personal questions, chipped into conversations we were having at the table. Very odd behaviour, couldn't read his guests at all and seemed to have boundary issues.

very disappointed again third time iv ordered for delivery, first time no salad or sauce with starters, second time chips missing, thought id give it one more chance because friends say how good it is, ordered and again disappointed came cold driver couldnt find my addressand chapattis missing so wont be ordering again 3 strikes and your out really disappointed

Visited the Indian Ocean on Middleton Road on 2/6/22 with three good friends to have our jubilee celebration.On entry made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff once seated and given menus we ordered our meals & drinks.Drinks came almost immediately followed by our starters-mains etc leaving it up to us when we where ready for each course food was very tasty plenty of it.Made to feel very welcome through out the visit will definitely be coming again thanks guys for a great meal and great hospitality!!!👍

Went for a family meal on the last minute and found this little gem!! What a pleasant surprise, everything was faultless. Truly is one of, if not THE best Indian meals we have had for a long long time. It was delicious! The flavours were amazing! We all love our Indian food in our family and we can be hard to please but you MUST give this a try, you won’t be disappointed! We will definitely be regulars here, even with our tummy’s full we are already planning our next visit😋 I will be recommending Indian Ocean to anyone who wants a delicious, authentic, unbelievably tasty meal in a welcoming, realaxing atmosphere.

Best curries ive had for a long time

Frist time I've tried this restaurant for a takeaway lamb tikka was just cooked prefect just the way asked for the meal overall was of a top quality really enjoyable I tried this restaurant after my wife and friends when for a meal that they spoke highly about I would recommend a takeaway and in the near future I'm going to try a meal in the restaurant

these people are a joke. i tried them twice now, both times they took the order, waited 30 mins, then cancelled it!! they didnt even bother to call or anything, no explanation. Please dont waste your time on this place. i should have read the other reviews, it seems the food is just as bad anyway

Helped me that's what I respect the most

Booked a table and turned up with time to spare. Seated at a table with no cutlery and just left there with no offer of a drink. Telephone was constantly ringing because nobody would answer (people started to get annoyed). Eventually ordered 2 drinks and still waiting after 25min - had to remind them. Tables left in a mess long after people had left. Ended up waiting nearly an hour for the food to arrive. Waiter didn’t even serve it up - just left it at end of table and walked off. Couple next to us were still waiting for their order when we’d finished ours and were ready to leave - they came in 5min after us. A woman from another table actually went storming into the kitchen and had a go at the chef!!! Something I have never witnessed before!! The jalfrezi I ordered was rank. Had better out of a jar from the supermarket. Absolute joke of a restaurant with staff that haven’t got a clue. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Not a five star as I'm pretty sure they are using food colouring, a few items were overly buttery and there was less meat than I expected there to be in all of the meat dishes.
