Indian Brasserie in Cheltenham

Was served the wrong main dish, and food was not quite up to scratch. Would not visit again

Very mediacore food. Fairly long wait for food which is OK however when served all our food the meat was dry and tasted overcooked. The sauce was bland and got delivered the wrong curry. Once plated up we realised, new curry got brought out but no replacement of the rice already used and taken away. Not to rave about and probably won't vist again.

Very disappointing to be honest. The mixed kebab starter was shocking for the price. The main curries bland. Rice was oily. The only decent thing was the naans which were very good. Wouldnt come again.

Would a t-rex like a curry? I reckon so. Apart from trying to put onions onto his poppadoms with his tiny arms. Most curry spots are quite traditional in a 20,000BC x Nan's-front-room kind of way, but t-rex wouldn't like this. Too modern by half. The food is top drawer though. Shaslick, Jalfrezi, traka dhal are all great. The naan bread is almost pornographic with it's bubbles and layer of shimmering butter. Beer cold, too. Very nice indeed.

This place is really amazing and best delicious food ever in cheltenham,i never use to like Lamb but this time i tried lamb shish kebab, it was soo delicious flavourful and juicy, and must tried dish in this brassiere. if you’re trying some Indian cuisine simply go with this,best place to eat❤️

Best food I had in UK. It was just like India texture, taste, spice level and the quality. Worth visiting the place. Totally recommend the platter (specially shish kebab) 🫰🫰 can’t wait to go again for shish kebab with garlic naan 🤤.

Very testy food I think this is the best Indian restaurant all over the Gloucestershire and it was Tuesday night but it's very busy the food was little bit late when i have a food it's very freshly and delicious and I felt like homemade food and authentic food . The service was fantastic and the staff is very cooperative . Definitely i will visit this restaurant again.

Greedy and unprofessional! We were looking to our first ever visit here on 08/12/23 as the reviews for this place looked really good. Booked a table for 3 people at 8:15pm. We arrived a minute or two late and the waiter said to take a seat, no problem. Note, the place was completely at capacity (huge Christmas parties) and there were others already in the waiting area. The signs were not promising but we persevered. About 20 minutes had passed and I went to the bar to get an ETA on the table and another ‘Manager’ was extremely rude to me, basically shouting at me and making out it was my fault. I remained calm, asked for some complimentary drinks and we continued to wait. Waited, waited and waited. About 45 minutes later that ‘Manager’ said the table would be ready shortly, just as we were starting to get up and leave. Needless to say we did not stay for dinner! It’s Christmas, I appreciate restaurants are going to be busy but this could easily have been avoided if they declined our booking instead of accepting it, knowing full well they had huge Christmas party bookings which are going to take up a lot of time (and space!) But no, this place was just being greedy, trying to seat as many people as possible to make as much money as possible. No care whatsoever for customers. This isn’t a fast food restaurant! Many other people waiting said it isn’t usually like this but unfortunately this was our first impression of this place and you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression. Please try to be less greedy and look after your customers instead of trying to rush people in and out. Moral of the story, don’t go during December or any other really busy periods. And don’t think that just because you have a booking, you have a booking… PS. we actually went across the road to Balti Walla who were very accommodating and the food was fantastic!

We visited the Indian Brassiere last night, the food & service was fantastic. Amad & his team were exceptional, we look forward to returning the next time we visit Cheltenham.

We went out for my Dad’s birthday at his request after our last wonderful meal here, and it was another great evening. With attentive but not intrusive service, we enjoyed the full experience, popadoms, delicious mixed starters, followed by incredibly flavoured main dishes. I would recommend Goan Red Jinga if you like King prawns and Chicken Malabar if you like a unique chicken dish with a touch of sweetness. I could go on, but will end with a huge encouragement to go and try it for yourself!

The food was excellent - fresh herbs and spices aromatic and exquisite. The naan bread is the best I’ve tasted the mushroom rice had quality flavourful mushrooms and spices in it. Outstanding !

One of the best Curry’s I’ve had, fresh and perfectly cooked. Plenty of interesting dishes and I would recommend the garlic naan, the best I have eaten. Great staff and a pleasure to eat in.

Last September I visited for the second time in indian Brasserie restaurant. I had having a great dinner there. I went there with my friends. I had shared my first time experience with them and they just forced me to take them at Indian Brasserie Restaurant. They all have enjoyed the delicious dishes named were Kole Upokari, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Biriyani, Tiger Prawn Bhuna, Mix kebab starter, Lamb Mandaraj, Kole Bahar etc. All these were excellent as well as my visit at first time. The environment and service was good. We enjoyed a lot.

When we booked our table we were not told that they needed our table back by a certain time. When we arrived, no one told us that we would have to vacate the table by a certain time. Just after we ordered some more drinks we were told that our table was needed for three young people. The staff badgered us until we left, despite the fact that there were lots of empty tables. When we asked why they couldn’t accommodate the people waiting on this tables, we were told they didn’t want to use them. And as we left, there was no sign of three people waiting for a table. The food was average, none of the dishes stood. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

We had a lamb passanda which tasted like lemon curd and lamb, and an erachi thoran which tasted like a spicy lemon curd with lamb! Then the chips were like cardboard. The cheese naan had 1 little bit of cheese in the corner. Really disappointed.

We absolutely loved Indian Brasserie. It's a great little restaurant that I used to go to a lot 10-15 years ago, but I haven't been there for a while. It was always nice, but now has had a major revamp and feels lovely and clean, as well as vibrant and fun and very well run. The food was amazing. We will be back there very soon!!

I've been to this restaurant for the last couple of years and this place just keeps getting better and better. This menu is varied with a variety of chef's specials and the usual traditional restaurant curries. The food is cooked fresh, the flavours are exotic but still balanced and the portions are decent too. This place is great for both work dos and family oriented meals. The restaurant is clean and the staff are welcoming and polite.

I was traveled cheltenham this last week at one of my relatives house. They took me and my husband in Indian Brasserie Restaurant for a dinner party. The entire environment of that restaurant was fantastic, luxurious and friendly. The foods they served were delicious, amazing and temptative. Few items such as Chicken Mandaraz, Lamb Pasanda, Panir Sabji just cut my mind. Their Peshawari nan bread was mouth-watering. The time I spent there was very wonderful and memorable. I have planned to visit their again. I will suggest you all to take a visit at Indian Brasserie Cheltenham and took the taste of their temptative foods. Thanks.

I visited this restaurant on 14th March 2023. It had been several years since my last visit but the food remains sublime. I thoroughly recommend the Erachi Porial, tender lamb with just the right amount of subtle heat. The staff are a credit to the owner Dada.

Asked two members of staff about the food on the menu, one knew nothing the other very little. Table requests for water were forgotten. Chipped glass on the table. Very popular/busy though, so perhaps staff were overwhelmed.
