19/04/2019: We went on Sunday and had a lovely meal. I arrived at 4:57 and was told ‘we don’t open until 5pm’ by a rude gentleman and he was nearly told that once the other 7 arrive we will head to the Shimla in Brechin.
29/03/2019: Been regularly coming here for carry out or sit in and the staff as well as the food are both excellent. I had the southern garlic chilli chicken masala and fully recommend it if you like a hot and spicy dish. Nice atmosphere and quite busy on a Friday so encourage you to book. We had vegetarian friend in our group with us and she fully enjoyed the choices and food too.

22/12/2018: Above title notwithstanding, the food was excellent, as it always is. Service is still an issue, though & I really hope the new staff members (& I wonder if they have a new chef, too) can eventually replicate the excellent standard of service that we have been used to over the last few years. The restaurant was not busy, but it still seemed to take longer than it should have to take our drinks & food orders. I did my usual & ordered a starter & a 'small plates' dish, but the latter came as a full size helping. Our waiter did offer to sort it, & I'm assuming it would have meant simply re-plating half of what was there, also my husband pitched in & said he'd have some of it, so we just went with it. My husband's biryani was served in a different way this time, hence my new chef comment - the plate with rice was served, & then he waited & waited, before having to ask the waiter for the accompanying sauce. The waiter said he'd pop back to the kitchen & get it, but from the time it took to arrive I think the chef had forgotten all about it! Thankfully his plate was very hot, so the rice hadn't cooled down to any great extent by the time the sauce arrived. I so enjoy the food here, which is why I would never write it off after our last visit, & I look forward to our next visit, when I hope I can again give a 5/5 review as I have in the past.
07/03/2019: Something has gone fundamentally wrong with this once superb in every way restaurant. Ate here on Saturday evening, & for the second time in two visits, waited over an hour for our food, & had to draw the staff's attention to this. The food was not all brought out at the same time, no excuse for this as there were only three of us. Staff full of apologies when we left - we have been reasonably regular customers for a good few years now - but standard of service is so disappointing given what it used to be. Ate here a few years ago on a Saturday night, we were a table of ten or twelve people, the restaurant was full, & the service was outstanding. I did say as we were leaving that our disappointment was exacerbated by the service having been so very good for so very long. Given the recent very good reviews on here, perhaps we've just been unlucky on our most recent visits, but we would certainly think twice before returning any time soon, which is a real shame, as we have been huge fans for a long time.
