Fantastic family run restaurant. Food was superb, service prompt with lovely people and we were very surprised the bill was not 50% higher given the quality. Will be going again very soon!

Il Portico is my favourite restaurant in London. It has everything you could wish for.

Use to come quite often 10 years ago when I was leaving in London. As I’m now abroad I always make sure to have diner at Il Portico when I’m in town. As always it has been a great pleasure. For me one of the best Italian restaurant I know.

A romantic birthday dinner - cosy table provided, glass of prosecco served immediately. Service was excellent and discrete. Recommendations were very good. Food superb. Will definitely be returning.

I think this lovely old family restaurant has got a little left behind and needs modernising and refreshing. The staff are perfect, on hand and cheerful. The food is only ok which is not good enough for over £50ph for a starter and a main with 1 lager and wine pp. Well over priced so we wont be returning!

Excellent service - all the staff make your dining experience special, they clearly all care for the customers and are very friendly. The service is matched with delicious Italian food which is generous and full of flavour served in a charming atmosphere. A lovely local restaurant.

Food was good but service was poor. It felt rushed. We asked for water and more bread. Never did get the bread and we had to ask for water to be replenished. Shame as nice place.

I have been visiting Il Portico for a few years now, and my return on Saturday was no different. A comfortable but elegant ambiance filled with homely and friendly staff taking care of your every wish. Service was quick, dinner was devineeee. The calamari was great, the lamb shank was gorgeous and that lemon cheesecake was a thing of beauty. Its moderately priced, but you pay for top tier food, ambiance and service. I will obviously be back soon! salud

Old-skool Italian dining at its best. A warm, very (genuine) friendly welcome, delicious food and impeccable service. Favourite dishes included the squid, (amazing) prawns and Strozzapreti. Meal for three including wine £170. Menu well spent for the quality and service. The fact it was packed on a Monday night tells you all you need to know. Will be back!

We have previously visited this restaurant whilst exhibiting at Olympia. This time it was just as great as before, the service is impeccable, the owner warm and engaging, the food an absolute delight. Well established a great menu, in fact, a delight. Highly Recommended.

A wonderful quaint restaurant. With friendly staff and amazing flavoursome food. We had the chicken and a meat pasta dish. Both were full of flavour and delicious. It’s the best Italian restaurant in London.

Great food; lovely people; served us way too fast, presumably hoping to turn the table. Spoiled the evening. They didn't do this when we came for lunch. A shame and would put us off returning.

The tables seem to be very light and as such move very easily, it would be nicer for them to be more stable. Food was fantastic and the service was truly outstanding. What a gem!

Very busy due to a Trade fair but service and food was superb

Fantastic meal. Can't rate it highly enough. The quid and mushrooms had the perfect amount of char on them to make it really flavourful. The venison pasta was also very delicious. And the gelato!!

Expensive. Great service but menu needs to be refreshed. No specials so 'same old same old' but quality has dropped - overcooked tough calamari and portions seem to have reduced in size except for lamb shank which was excellent.

I live 100 miles from London. Every time I go to London I meet a friend and dine at Il Portico. The high standard is consistent and I can be sure of a pleasant relaxed dining experience. Not for young people who like a lot of noise and razzmatazz.

We had a lovely meal at Il Portico. My friend loved her calf's liver and I really enjoyed my risotto, too. We received a warm and charming welcome from all the staff in this old family restaurant and the service was attentive and excellent. Judging by diners around us, this is an exceptionally popular "local" for people living nearby, who are long time visitors to Il Portico.

Lovely meal.... although I have to say some of the pasta dishes could be more generous. I had the partridge and it was massive and delicious.

I think you need to be a regular to get a half-decent table. Also, allowing in several wet dogs isn’t really what one expects in a small space in what is after all an expensive restaurant. Shame as the food is very good.

Worst pasta I ever had in my life… The receptionist were very nice and accommodating but not the waiting staff, we came for a relaxed meal with family and the service felt so rushed and staff not polite.

Have been coming here for years (not as often as i would like) and the food is always excellent. My favourite is Saltimboca - never fails to please.

Went to Portico for lunch with the family. The food was great and pretty reasonably priced considering the quality. The Tagliatelle was just amazing and the service attentive but not overbearing. I will be coming back.

Lovely restaurant. Four of us, we each had something different and they were all very good. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely go again. Wish I lived closer so I could visit regularly.

Excellent service, in an unpretentious atmosphere, but with high quality food and wine. We had starters, the burrata is great. And then mains the parpadele and chicken Milanese, both excellent. To finish with the tiramisu.
