Ii-ma Sushi in Sutton

I've been here about 2 times and the staff are great as always and the food is amazing. I would definitely come back next time.

The best little sushi restaurant in Sutton with amazing staff.

Great vibe and service but don't expect the food to be authentic. Spider marki: The soft shell crab was not crispy at all. The marki itself was loose. Tori karaage: The chickens themselves were good but we're surprised that they weren't served with mayo and a lemon slice. Unagi don: Eel was thin. No taste of grill. Rice was not from Japan, probably just Japanese style, which ruined the whole don.

Food is nice but prices have gone up too much. I ordered take away salmon avocado roll and chicken katsu cost me £51. Not good.

The food is so good! I eat everything on the bowl and the staff is also really friendly! The miso soup tastes better than other restaurant's miso soups and the lunch sets are a bargain!

This is by far the best sushi in the Sutton area - the fish is always fresh and service is very friendly. Their lunch sets are also great value for money.

It was a nice restaurant food was fine I ordered quite a lot and because of the amount of food there they only bring the wasabi sauce for one dish. I did asked little bit more and they asked £1 extra for extra wasabi which I spend £57.50 for the meal. That sauce suppose to be a complimentary for the amount I spend. I'm sorry but nobother restaurants did ask any extra for wasabi which that was greedy. I won't be going back there.

Small quiet Japanese restaurant. Good nigri, sashimi, maki and all served by a Timothy Chalamet style charming waiter. Will definitely be back soon.

An absolute gem of an intimate Sushi Restaurant We regularly lunch here and have done since Il Ma opened in Sutton. My wife and I can honestly say that the dishes, service and value for money are unbeatable and there has never been a mediocre experience or imperfect dish in all of our visits. I’ve sampled most of the extensive menu and wholeheartedly say that they are all excellent, call me unimaginative but I highly recommend their Katsu Chicken also. A great, ‘compact and bijou’ fantastic Japanese style eaterie.

The sushi is always good here and freshly made. Good value and lots of dishes to choose from. They have budget options for lunch with sushi from 6.50 and a special lunch menu. I always nip in a few times a week and the service is quick and friendly.

I went to ii-ma for the first time about 5/6 years ago and I remember that it was just OK, and nothing special. However, I moved closer to the restaurant and decided to try it again just to see and can confirm that it has massively improved! The food is really tasty and there is a really great selection of dishes to choose from. I like that it's also open late so if you wanted a later snack, it's possible. One of the chefs is Korean and the wait staff are Japanese which makes me super happy because it's more authentic and it allows me to speak Japanese, which I don't often get the chance to do in the UK, especially in Sutton! I hope they will start to offer a delivery service soon.

Very welcoming and pleasant staff. Beautiful sushi and sashimi. Katsu & teriyaki were nice enough but not wow and quite small for a main meal. Only 18 seats and lots of potential customers being turned away and waiting outside resulted in what felt like a very rushed meal - 2 courses eaten and bill paid in under 40 minutes. Would absolutely go back as the sushi is very very good but next time we would choose a wider selection of this rather than the meal dishes and order a couple at a time to enjoy at a more leisurely pace. Either that or return for lunch or to take away both of which we have done in the past without the time pressure experienced this evening.

Always a delightful experience this tiny japanese restaurant opposite Sutton station is a must visit. Freshest sushi ( and I live in Cornwall) The Sashimi meal at £18 is one of London's absolute bargains. 3 types of Sashimi + salad + rice + pickles + miso. Make sure you book!

Limited seating, as the restaurant is quite small (recommend you make a reservation if you're planning on having dinner here on a busy evening), but charming interior and serves delicious food.

Due to covid I couldn't go back home to Japan. This small family owned izakaya in Sutton made me feel like I was home in tokyo. It features typical Japanese decor with chef preparing food behind the counter. The quality of the food is second to none. Fantastic udon and very polite service! Oishii

If you enjoy Japanese food, give this place a try. Ordered over the phone, very easy. The lady who answered the phone was extremely friendly and helpful in talking through a few questions. Food was ready after around 40 minutes, was fairly busy in the restaurant when picking up the food. Food was well packed and travelled well back home. Everything was cooked well and the Sushi/Sashimi/Nigiri was all fresh and well prepared. If you enjoy this cuisine I would highly recommend this place. Will definitely be ordering or even visiting in person!

It had chicken katsu curry and Hamachi (Yellow Tail) nigiri. Curry was tasty and nigiri was gorgeous! I took 5 different types of sushi rolls home and we enjoyed them. Very friendly, relaxing atmosphere. I will come back with my family.

Wow, very small family run sushi restaurant in Sutton ii-ma sushi, they don’t have an Instagram. They do have a Facebook page so give them a follow. The sushi is all fresh and made to order the dragon rolls are must try. Had a selection of sushi, seaweed salad, chicken katsu and yaki soba. Overall amazing food, friendly service and excellent atmosphere. You get a massive 👍

Before we visited the restaurant, we looked at the pictures and reviews left previously and we were very excited! When we had food, we ordered Chirashi don(assorted fish with rice) + Ume sushi set + Tempura don, both quality and quantity were quite disappointing. The assorted sashimi provided with Chirashi don, they were so thin so you could see through... I was not impressed at all. ​ For Tempura don, the batter with prawns was not crispy and not as airy as it should be that you would expect as Tempura. It was just boring prawn fry. Besides there were only 3 and the mirin(sweet cooking drink) they added to the rice was not cooked so I could smell very strong alcohol in the rice which was not so great either. Ume sushi set we paid £11 but I think Wasabi sushi set might be much better… I revisited the reviews left again today, they were mainly left more than 2 years.... the restaurant is not the same I assume. I would not go there again, the recent visit was quite enough!

Had an absolutely amazing meal here last night, everything we ate (and we ate far too much!) was delicious and beautifully presented. I’d call it a hidden gem but it’s not exactly hidden - so conveniently located opposite the station! Really reasonably priced, too. Definitely my new go-to local spot when I get a sushi craving.

We were down to test drive a car. Staying in Sutton. Had looked earlier in the week - my lovely wife fancied Sushi. We’d called ahead to book. On a Saturday night. It is a very small restaurant and upon arrival they used my wife’s name! So perhaps not many book. But such warm and friendly service. Good Covid safe service. We sat next to the door which allowed fresh air I ordered Sapporo beer and my wife a Japanese plum drink. The beer was served really cold in a cold glass - fantastic. We order a sushi selection and then shared chicken and salmon teriyaki. Miso soup to start. All beautiful presented. You will see from the photos. Another beer was required. A lovely meal. Thank you

Just went there today and didn’t even get to eat any food. First we were stood outside the door looking at menu tapped to the door because we wanted takeaway. Then she pushed open the door with us standing in front of it almost hitting us and said if we didn’t have a booking we can’t come in, then we explained we wanted takeaway and she told us to come in and sit down we sat down and she shut the menu whilst I was holding it and told us to hurry up. We hadn’t been sitting down for more than a minute EXTREMELY RUDE VERY DISGUSTING SERVICE

Cozy (posh) cafe style restaurant with lovely, friendly attentive staff. Food is out of this world... and mad value. Anyone who says it’s expensive is clueless. We had a massive feast... we are big eaters and five soft drinks and it was £26 each. Literally could not fault. I had the ‘Wow Tempura Roll’ from the Special Maki section of the menu. And it could not have been more perfect. My only issue is what to have next time... I want to try other things but I know what I had was perfect. My friend had the first special from the Sushi section.

This is a genuine Japanese run sushi place. A true gem in the town of Sutton. Owners were friendly and always produce high-quality sashimi and sushi. We always have our favourite pumpkin Koroke, miso soup, salmon and tuna mori, chicken katsu maki, and edamame beans. Occasionally we would order tomago nigiri and tempura prawns. To end we always have a glass of their lovely Umeshu (plum wine) and sometimes chest nut ice cream if I can manage to find some more room! You will not be disappointed if you love good Japanese sushi/sashimi. Their sashimi melts in your mouth!
