Ifraaz in Braintree

The food was typical Essex ready made sauces, not much spice and little heat. Popadoms and pickles fine, starters mixed starter and spicy battered squid average. Main courses very bland, my main was served on a normal cold dinner plate which made it very cool in about 5 mins. Curry had bought in sauce very poor. However the naan breads were really good. 5/10

We visited Ifraaz in July 2023, ate from the buffet menu. Huge choice of starters, mains and sides. Good selection if you are vegetarian. All cooked to perfection! Max the owner, oversees his team, all of his waiters are very helpful and polite. Beautiful decor, fabulous food, highly recommended, we will be visiting again.

This is the second time we've eaten here recently and the food was as good as it was before. The staff are friendly and attentive, the restaurant is spotlessly clean and the quality of the food is excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Butter chicken and keema naan. Highly recommended!

17 years ago I met my wife for the first time at an Indian restaurant. We’ve since got married and still have a curry on the anniversary. This was a great choice. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty and will look forward to coming again

Spending a weekend in Witham, we were looking for somewhere for dinner andxwere fortunate enough to come across Ifraaz, an excellent Indian restaurant. The food is cooked in a Bangladeshi style and is absolutely delicious, each dish having its own little twist. The staff were incredibly attentive and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. They are knowledgeable about the dishes and gave us some excellent advice on the dishes to choose. The food was sizzling when it arrived and we really couldn't manage any of the delicious looking desserts. It's also reasonably priced too. If you're in the area, I recommend dropping in for a meal.

Went to this great indian restaurant last night 5th May 2023 with family to celebrate my birthday, have been before and that's the reason we wanted to return, this restaurant is just perfect in every way, exceptional food, excellent staff, lovely surroundings made my night very special, will definitely be going back again and again.

Everyone really enjoyed their meals which were of high quality. The portions were of a decent size as well. I would highly recommend going there. The prices are not the cheapest though, but good for a special occasion.

Great choices of food. Prices are good. Service wasn't the greatest and didn't make you feel special. When we ordered, Waiter was more interested what was going on when other guest came in. We needed to reply our order 4 times. Though, the food was lovely. Not rushing back there so fast again. Shame

Vististed this lovely fine Indian restaurant on many occasions as my friends live in Witham so we often visit them and end up dining at ifraaz. Never had a bad meal and the service is always excellent. Restaurant is very cosy even though it’s quiet large in size with lovely warm decor . The restaurant has nice selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian food but my favourites are king prawn dishes or their biryani’s always and for starters for me and son it’s alway king prawn butterfly 👌 My friends and the rest of family enjoy various tikka mossolla, shaslick , tandoori mix grill and Seabass . There are good selections of designer ice cream to Indian desserts. Prices including drinks normally works out about £35-40 per person. It’s definitely worth a visit , not many Indian in this area have such good quality food and presentation. We believe these guys have a passion for cooking hence the flavours will differ on every dish.👍

Myself and a few friends have been a regular at this establishment ever since opening and decided to visit recently for a birthday occasion. Must i say, this place never disappoints. The service was absolutely fantastic and food was as always second to none. I would Highly recommend the Honey Glazed Lamb chops which carries a palette of unique and traditional tastes. The hygiene of this restaurant is absolutely spotless. The dishes are always clean, and cutlery always shining. The waiters can be seen washing their hands very frequently as well as applying hand sanitiser throughout the evening. in my opinion i would suggest they have shown an excellent demonstration of how a restaurant should operate. In alll my visits since opening in 2018, i have not yet identified a single fault to mention. Ifraaz has been consistently immaculate throughout, especially during Covid. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

I took my family to Ifraaz with a high expectation given the TA rating, comments, and ranking. Clearly it is very popular and busy as expected on a Saturday night, with little soft furnishing (tiled floor) it was very noisy. Booth seating helps to some extent. You get immediate drinks service but the food took quite a while (we arrived 8:20, ordered 15 minutes later, food arrived 9:20) which is not a problem. My wife was pleased with her meal. Two of us had Jhal Naga at Vindaloo strength and it certainly was well spiced. Overall we thought that it's OK

I ordered a takeaway on 30th October from Ifraaz only to discover a dead cockroach in my chicken korma. I was 3/4 of the way through eating this when I discovered it. As if that wasn’t horrendous enough, I rang the restaurant to complain and inform them of what I’d discovered, and they rather sarcastically told me I may have mistaken it for a spice! The premises must be filthy to have cockroaches, yet the gentleman on the phone said they had very clean premises and had no idea how it could have got there, and insinuated I may have made it up!! Clearly I haven’t as they recently were forced to close by Environmental Health. The management haven’t rung to apologise given they could have made me seriously ill. I’m utterly appalled given I’ve eaten here before and clearly not appreciated how disgustingly filthy their hygiene must be. I’ve received no refund or formal apology from the manager, yet I understand they were recently closed due to gas issues! Clearly lying to the local community as well!! They’re now magically back open again. Let’s hope they cleaned up their act. Need I say any more. Disgusting! Won’t be eating here again!

We selected this restaurant for its top Hygiene Rating, and obviously reflected by the need to book in advance to avoid disappointment. The staff were very pleasant and the food was excellent. It was nice to see an array of different cuisine, including Fusion and some English (to accommodate everyone), but this restaurants menu was different from the run of the mill, in so far as the many different cooking ingredients and spices used in different ways, that leave you salivating over choice. Lastly, but not least, the Irish and Calypson coffees, were, without doubt, the finest we had ever experienced, and we have tried quite a few over the years. Well done to you all.
