This was hands down the best place for portuguese custard tarts. So sad to find its disappeared! I'm not sure where the reviewer from a week ago had it - if its opened again somewhere else, I'd love to know!

Crisp, laminated crust with a sweet egg dustard filling--similar to Chinese don-tat. Stick with the original and skip the chocolate and apple-cinnamon variants, which detract from the custard flavor.

Pastel de Nata is a such a little tart with so much going on! It’s crispy, it’s flaky, it’s indulgent and it’s creamy. What’s not to like? When I heard that I love Nata on Endell Street is the best in London I had to be the judge for myself. The coffee shop is very small so I bought myself a Natabox of 4 to go. Without meaning to sound like a glutton, I had 2 straight one after the other and could probably have done the 4 in one sitting till I remembered I had to share! A packet of cinnamon and a packet of powdered sugar was included with my box but I found it sweet enough already. So was it the best I’ve had in London? Yes I actually think it was. Not the best I’ve ever had but definitely the best in London.

Hi I Love Nata Team, I want to thank you for having brought my favourite sweet in London. The custard tarts are amazing, but I want to make a complaint about the staff. Saturday i was in Covent Garden store around 7PM, and the staff is very rude. I was served by a Portuguese girl, she was very rude in the service, without saying goodbye or thank you and she seemed to be annoyed even to serve me. More or less all the staff is like this. Only after eating your tart you can digest the bad way you've been seriously served. I hope you can improve your staff.

It Is a nice spot in central London for a few minutes break. They have a nice coffee and the best custard tart (Plain one) from Lisbon "Aloma" in C. Ourique. The place is really small but cosy. In my opinion the staff should have more training about the products and welcome. Sometimes I get really nice customer service (A Portuguese girl with a long hair) and other times when she isn't there I got a medium/low customer service. As a typical Portuguese house I don't understand the music usually is playing because doesn't match at all with the space and our culture. Last time the music was to loud and noisy. The bathroom should be check every hour, was dirty last time and the locker didn't work, but didn't destroy my evening and experience. It Is few small things I think so the place should get more focus to get better every day. As I said the custard tarts were amazing. Thank you for the experience

I've had a little bit of a fixation on natas recently. A Portuguese friend back home turned me on to them and he has been on a quest to make the perfect one so I have tasted many. The hotel where we were staying in London had a Portuguese bartender who told us that he thought this little bakery made the best natas outside of Lisbon. We walked 2 miles one afternoon to go in search of it in order to test out this statement. We thought they were really delicious! The pastry was really tender and the custard was meltingly soft. I had to restrain myself from eating too many and spoiling the effect! This is really a tiny little shop, almost a hole in the wall with one specialty only. If in London again, I would come back and indulge myself further.

Just recently, I've had a strange obsession with natas and when I visited London I wanted to compare several bakeries that supposedly make the best pastels de nata in town. If nothing else, it was a good excuse to eat as many as possible...! For the sake of my self-imposed experiment (and not really because I'm a glutton; honest!) I bought one of each flavour. Although the traditional is my favourite, each one was delicious! The apple and cinnamon was very tasty, as was the chocolate. Though I tried several others during my holiday, these were easily the best. I Love Nata, too!

We had booked a table for 8 of us at 5.30 on a Friday evening after work. We arrived around 5.45 to find that all of the lights were off. We told them we had a booking and the member of staff told us they were closed. After some negotiation the lights were turned on and we were seated. A short while later the waiter came back and told us he had spoken to his manager and they were closed. We asked how long until they would open, would it be 1 hour, 2 hours? He said that he didn't know and it was up to his manager. He then suggested we leave and told us there is a similar restaurant down the road. Never before have I had a restaurant recommend we go to a competitor. This caused one of our party to cry, and he only stopped when we promised to buy him a balloon (he's not a child, he just really loves balloons). We walked back past Da Beppe (the same one that was closed) around 10 minutes later to find the staff member serving wine to a table. We were obviously confused so asked why the restaurant was now open when we were only just told it was closed. We were then invited back inside but fearing for our safety, we declined. We then went to Zizzi's by Goodge Street station. If you are looking for a restaurant that is open and serves authentic Italian food justa like mama used to make, I recommend you go there. 4.2 stars.
