It’s definitely a no frills/no fuss Vietnamese restaurant. We ordered the: 🥢 bun bo hue (spicy beef vermicelli noodle soup) 🥢bun rieu cua (crab noodle soup) 🥢pho bo (beef noodle soup) 🥢ech xao sa ot (chilli and lemongrass frogs legs) 🥢 prawn salad 🥢crispy chicken wings 🥢sweet and spicy chicken wings 🥢banh mi with the bbq pork skewers (off menu) 🥢iced coffee You definitely need to add sriracha/chilli oil/hoisin sauce/lime/fish sauce to your own preferences (not just here but every Vietnamese place you go to). I’m a bun bo hue fan as it’s not something I ever eat at home so I always like to eat it outside! Extra spicy please. The frogs legs were *chef’s kiss”, light, crispy, hint of chilli and lemongrass paired with the sweet chilli dip 😩. It is such a moreish dish. Frogs legs have a very similar texture to chicken so I’d definitely recommend getting these. Both the chicken wing dishes were great, the batter is light so the chicken is crispy, not crunchy, and lightly seasoned. The sweet and chilli ones is for those of you who love fish sauce! It’s not over powering at all and complementary of the sweet and spicy flavours. Chicken done WELL. If you do not like fish sauce, politely, this is not for you. The banh mi was so tasty, the baguette was light and crispy and the inside was fluffy (not dense like a French baguette). It would’ve been better with a bit more of the meat filling but otherwise everything else was great. The pickled veg was still crunchy and adds a nice “sour” contrast to the bbq pork skewers. Add sriracha for spice and you have yourself a perfect banh mi. Whatever you do, make sure you get the salad - don’t say I didn’t put you on.

Delicious vegetarian Pho noodles always with a generous portion of beansprouts and mint leaves. The portions are huge. Always more than what we can finish. One of our favourite places to eat in Manchester!

One of the best pho I’ve ever had!

DONT COME HERE pls read we came in with a group. asked nicely and answered in vietnamese but got the answer back in english, so that’s fine and we replied in english for number of ppl and waited for the table ( that staff later have a gossip with other staff in vietnamese) . 1 female staff took us to the table and not even talk to us. just pointed at it. then droped down the menu and left. after that, they served us with horrible attitude, dropped the chopsticks on table without any saying. we even helped the staffs put the hot “Pho” bowl on the table as it is quite hot and the way she was holding it made her feel all the heat but she growned down on us . that attitude last until we left after paying. In addition, counter didnt even show the receipt properly but we still paid and left. we are annoying because we felt like we treated unfair as they smiled and ask other customers ( eespecially “western looking one”) nicely, asked them how they feel,… i regret that i came there and hoped one of the staff will made our experience better but NO. Dont ever come here

Great food every time. I've been at least 50 times. The only complaint is they never show any warmth to a regular. It's as if its your first time every time. The staff need to be more friendly, it's good for business!

Best pho I’ve had & I ate plenty when I went to Vietnam a few years ago. The spring rolls were so tasty & fresh as well. I collected a takeaway, there was an item missing from the bag. When I called, one of the members of staff ran it round to where I was staying in minutes; excellent service!

A very decent comfort restaurant! Their pho was to die for, especially on those rainy cold days. The vegetable spring roll was also scrumptious with a proper amount of vegetables. They have plenty choices of sauces from Hoisin, Sriracha, vinegar, and many more to enhance the flavor of your pho soup. The others ordered hot tea and tap water while I had their cranberry juice as I wanted something fresh to close my palate from the flavorful pho. The place was perfect for a group of friends or family and the service was great whilst the staff was friendly and agile. Keep up the good work!

Very casual place to eat however Good Genuine food, effective staff, generous portion sizes and service is fast so you won’t wait eternity for your food. The best pho I’ve had in Manchester with affordable prices, atmosphere won’t win any awards but if you just want good tasty food regardless of the ambience I would recommend

Quick service - average taste - slightly overrated We ordered the mix meat pho and the dry noodle with beef. The order came in no time as it wasn’t very crowded around noon time. Tasted worst but good enough if compared to other Vietnamese restaurant in the uk.

Excellent veggie pho and summer rolls, everything you could want or expect from a Viet restaurant! The only way to make it more authentic would be to have tiny plastic chairs to sit in. Staff are really sound too, well priced.

One of the top places I'd recommend for pho. The broth was delicious and the banh mi was crunchy and balanced with flavour. We also got a few sides, can't go wrong with a summer roll paired with an amazing peanut sauce. The BBQ skewer was also tasty. Not a bad place to go for relatively cheap eats.

Lovely food, went in as a group of 8 and they made a plan to seat us all though unfortunately couldn't be seated together. I had the beef steak medallions and noodles which were delicious. Strange that drinks were brought in bottles and no glasses provided but not the end of the world. All in all, nice lunch out.

This food really hit the spot after a long train ride on a rainy day. Service was quick and efficient, food came pretty fast after ordering. The pho was super delicious, salad was very refreshing and flavorful. Price was very reasonable too.

Can absolutely recommend! Great food, very nice staff and pretty decorations. The vegetarian bun bo hue and summer rolls were so delicious! The portions were big, almost too big for me though, but can’t complain. The food came quickly and was very authentic. you could tell it’s a good restaurant, because many locals were there. You definitely should give it a go!

The food here was pretty good! Went with 2 others so we had some sides too and shared. The most disappointing thing was telling the waiter about being pescatarian and asking for prawn summer rolls but then being served pork ones. Took eating one to realise.. they brought out prawn ones afterwards but it kind of ruined the experience for me

If you want authentic Vietnamese cuisine you need to try this place! Located in China Town, down some steep steps, this cute basement restaurant has a relaxed yet intimate atmosphere. I’ve been here a few times and always enjoyed it. On this visit we ordered the prawn summer rolls and the raw beef pho. Service is quick, friendly and unobtrusive. The food came quickly. Summer rolls very good and with crunchy fresh filling. Served with a satay dip, which was delicious. The pho was fantastic, I love their broth. I added some of their homemade chilli oil for extra zing, super tasty! Served with bean sprouts, fresh chilli rings and lime. I really wanted to order one of their filter coffees with condensed milk but resisted because it was late. I really recommend it though and next time I’m walking past I’m treating myself to one!

Best Pho in Manchester, one of the best that I’ve had around the world so far in my travels! (experienced nearly 100 phos across the world). The food is very fairly priced, quick service and tasted amazing.

Been here a couple of times and I’d say it’s pretty good. Located in china town it’s quite convenient to get to. Decent prices and the pho tastes good. Nicely decorated atmosphere. Would recommend.

I went here to have a meal. Never been to this type eatery. I had a noodle based meal which was hot to say the least.glad I purchased a cold drink. Prices I believe are competitive. Will go there again better prepared.

This used to be my favourite 'cheap eat' in Manchester for a couple of years but not anymore.The food has went extremely bland even though prices have risen They need to find new staff. - A group of young boy ‘running’ this place is a recipe for disaster, it seems like they run the place and the owners let them sit back and do whatever they want. They're always hurdled over on the table playing their music out loud, vaping, having disturbing and disrespectful conversations. I have also noticed a lot of prejudice. To those viet or white they are fine however I've noticed towards mostly Chinese customers they have a very nasty attitude. (This is coming from a white, British customer) Won't be coming back again: the place is like a drug den

I’ve been going here for years and I’m surprised I haven’t written a review yet. As my favourite spot in Manchester, I’m a regular goer - and I’ve never been let down! I’ve taken several friends here and all have ended up taking their own friends and family. Expect lovely food, great service and I highly recommend the raw beef pho.

This unassuming little restaurant serves a delicious pho at a very reasonable price. Vietnamese drip coffee was also lovely.

Hi, let me share an experience that made me feel bad about going to "I am Pho" restaurant. Today, I went to have a meal at the restaurant with my boyfriend. It was our second visit there. When I was placing my order, I showed the waiter a picture of the dish I had ordered last time and said, "I'll have these two." The waiter then asked, in an aggressive tone, which one I meant because they have multiple menu items that sound similar. I was taken aback by why they had to use that tone, especially since I wasn't sure of the actual names of the dishes since they weren't in my language. If the waiter meant that they have different variations meat of the menu to choose from, they should have asked me politely instead of using that aggressive tone. I felt really disappointed. Customers pay money to eat at your restaurant. I don't expect exceptional service, but at least not an encounter like the one I experienced today. I quite enjoy the food here, which is why I'm writing this today, hoping that other customers won't have to go through the same thing I did.

我们今天进店是一个女生在门口招待我们，我看到店里客人的杯子像是外带饮品，所以问了一下能不能自带饮品，女服务员说不能，后面我就正常问有没有两个人的桌子，店里明明还有很多其他空桌子，她直接让我们坐到进门左手边楼梯下的小桌子，在我说能不能坐到中间去之后，我没看错的话她翻了个白眼，几乎是把菜单甩到我指的那张桌子上就走开了。我不知道她是不是有什么不开心的事，让她这样对待我们。店里其他小哥服务都很好，但是我们在粉里吃出来一根眼睫毛，也许是我们自己的，所以我们没在店里说。总之那个女生的态度让我们觉得很不友好

Came with our lad and this place is awesome ! Customer service excellent - menu brilliant and food utterly gorgeous! I have a pretty severe allergy to latex and I felt so welcome and accommodated ! They really helped me ! What a phenomenal dining experience and the price is perfect! Can’t recommend this place highly enough! For less than £80 - we had wine - beers - starters and mains for three people ! And every single thing was awesome! I’m coming back !

Pho was average, little flavour in the beef and broth, texture of the noodles was a bit too hard; customer service was horrendous, staff team was rude in general - I had to make my request a couple of times. I read through the reviews here and they are very misleading. So it’s no surprise that the staff are rude, perhaps some even being racist. I don’t usually write such review yet I was fuming after eating there. NOT RECOMMENDED! I PROMISE YOU THAT YOU WILL NOT REGRET NOT GOING HERE!!

Tanie jedzenie, ale cierpi na tym troche jakość. Część dań dobra, część średnia. Moja wołowina była twarda, natomiast np sajgonki klasa. Nie wróciłbym tu wprawdzie, bo konkurencja jest wokoło spora, lecz cenowo bardzo spoko. Zupa Pho w wielkich miskach, duże porcje.

Frog legs were delicious. The raw beef pho had a very strong organ taste to it😔, the pho itself tasted like they've put some Chinese herb medicine in... Which could be nourishing but too overpowering. Service was good and price was decent.

Restaurant Review - I Am Pho Manchester Chinatown’s Vietnamese companion diner to Pho, in the old Corn Exchange building, with a similar menu, wonderful friendly helpful service and an easy to follow menu. The Pho meals are huge heavily laden noodle soup bowls, rich in flavour. Starters can be eclectic. I had frogs legs. I dined with fourteen friends, prebooked and the service was terrific, with a high chair provided as one couple brought their son, not yet a year old, along too. Excellent bottled beers too. The only absence at Pho restaurants is a decent third course sweet (pudding) menu.

Laid back and relaxed dining at I am pho. Great on the pocket and amazing quality of ingredients used. Quick service and plenty of beer and wine varieties to choose from. Staff are super polite. Both cash and cards are accepted. Portion sizes are generous too. Plenty of parking available in the vicinity
