Absolutely loved our dine there, just the light was a bit too dim for the table, I know it contributes to the atmosphere but just a dash more would be better.

I booked this restaurant and specified on the Notes I wanted to be served halal food only. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I found that none of the food is halal and their supplier changed with no notice on the website or anything. Really disappointing. They have branches in places like Dubai so surely they keep the same suppliers if they want their food to taste consistent and must be halal. No one bothered to contact me after booking and let me know the menu has changed.

Visiting our son in London from Devon we were over the moon when he surprised us with a booking to enable us to enjoy the views of London at night in a special setting. The service was generally good, we were not at all rushed and our server advised us ( on spiciness of dishes etc) well and we all enjoyed our meals and cocktails. Only one negative: we were seated at the table almost below the beautiful ceiling decoration, before we had ordered our food a window table became empty and stayed so for a while. Having now read reviews, it is apparent that we could have asked to move to the window but no one thought to mention this to us though we told more than one person that this was our first visit. The views were nevertheless awesome and the occasion memorable

Love the place! Love the view, food are amazing! Staffs were great, friendly and helpful. Great experience… Peking duck was delicious and well presented. Beef tenderloin and wagyu were very nice. Kailan was tasty, too. But the best is the fried rice with salted fish, great aroma and taste really good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Hutong restaurant, perched on the 33rd floor of the Shard in London, and I am still amazed by the experience. As soon as you enter, the Asian ambiance envelops you in every detail, creating a captivating atmosphere, especially in the evening when the view of magnificent illuminated London is revealed. The staff are not only friendly but also very helpful which added to my enjoyment. Going through airport-style security to get to the summit added a touch of adventure to the experience. As for the food, it was simply divine. Each Chinese dish was an explosion of sought-after flavors, confirming Hutong's reputation for exceptional cuisine. I highly recommend Hutong for an unforgettable dining experience, accompanied by breathtaking panoramic views of London. A real treat for the senses. To do with family or lovers while enjoying the bar below. To get there take the cabs from London.

Food is up to the level for what you pay at this level. It is pricey but delicious and very fresh. Nice view of London at 33rd floor of Shard. Beautiful. Service can be improved.

We had the Azalea and the Orchid menu to share, everything was delicious. The venue was outstanding. However what made our experience superior was the outstanding service provided by Francesco. This is the perfect restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. Some dishes were on the spicy side but my children found dishes that were not spicy that they enjoyed. Thank you so much to Francesco for making our celebration even more special.

The food was delicious and the views overlooking London were amazing. Our server Kibil was very friendly and welcoming, and made the experience so much better.

The restaurant is rather tired and feels more like an office. The choice of food is limited, expensive and service slow.

Tourist trap, certainly not anywhere near worth the money. In a "third row" table you see nothing of the view. The lighting is so dim, ostensibly to see "the view," you can't see the menu. The chairs were uncomfortable for all in our party of different builds posturing you leaning forward as opposed to sitting back to relax. Looking around, all clientele were similarly tipped forward. Perhaps to have you in and out quickly? Food was ok, but certainly nowhere near worth 45 pounds per entree. Staff were nice, but at times quite difficult to get there attention and at no point did anyone check in to see how the meal was or if another drink was needed. Suggest avoiding the shard altogether as there are much lovelier spots in the city.

Good food for sure...but would have liked bigger portions! Came to the table a bit cold also - should never happen considering the prices that you are paying. Service is excellent - caring and attentive. Atmospheric vibes provided by chillout/Buddha Bar type music playing at just the right volume. Of course, superb views of London from the 32nd floor. Superb venue to entertain friiends and family or work colleagues. One of the very expensive restaurants in London.

I have mixed feelings about this place, the first time I went I had sea bass red star noodles which impressed me, also I didn’t pay for the bill. Since I don’t usually go to fancy restaurants, thought I’d book this place for a private occasion. It was nice of them to give us a window seat, to be fair, our appointment was earlier than usual dinner time, it was almost empty when we got there. The food was in general good. Everything was fantastic until the Mongolia BBQ lamb ribs arrived. I was a little disappointed, maybe my own expectation — expected it to be more “Mongolian”, and was told later it’s done medium-rare only. We asked if they could make it medium to well-done and they explained how they can’t do it… though I didn’t get why but oh well. They did offer to re-heat it since it was cold by then, but it was really no point, since I’m more unsatisfied with the taste/seasoning. The dip tastes more like Piri piri… (I’m no fine diner, and the film Menu did struck a cord when we tried to send back the dish for some extra fire). Anyhow, if you are not expecting Mongolia BBQ and prefers medium-rare, then it is still a good dish. Took the ribs home, and did them the Mongolian style! Service is good. Two people, paid roughly 110 per person, each of us had a glass of drink, and shared a dessert. For the location, and the quality of food, and probably not marketed towards native Chinese… all seems fair enough?

If you go there you should ask for Pablo. Zenne service was optimal. Very open, very friendly and very patient. It was on the expensive side, but it still led to a great evening. He was so helpful he even suggested taking pictures for us. We were 5 and received a private service. If I could give this man a hug I certainly would. Definitely go if you have something on your stomach. Thanks beaucoup PABLO!!!

Expensive, obviously, but excellent Chinese food, which is not frightened of chilli (much more than one would usually get in the UK). Service was friendly and attentive if a little brusque (clearing plates before people had finished). The views are stunning

Booked for 5 people on Saturday evening at 10pm for my birthday and arrived earlier than 10pm. They gave us a private room which was a beautiful view but didn’t understand why we was made to wait 40 minutes past our reservation to be seated when we didn’t book a private room, our booking was originally for the main restaurant. The service was awful because we were seated 40 minutes late and felt rushed and told that the kitchen closed at 11:15. Our server must have had a long day because he smelt awful, the meal was not a great experience because all we could smell was his bad odour. Every napkin we received smelt like it was drenched in oil and the food was very salty and not edible. I would not recommend going here as it was over priced and not a great experience

Everything about Hutong was amazing, the staff, food was so tasty, the aesthetics was beautiful. Made my birthday so special. Cannot wait to go back.

Drinks are outrageously expensive. Water was poured without asking and half a glass is £7.50 That is daylight robbery. The chicken with chilli had chilli’s in that were like eating finger nails. Cooked so hard. 3/4 of the plate was just chillis that you could not eat. The fried rice was very oily.

Great if we return to London we will repeat

The food was generally a bit salty, and the view from where I happened to sit was difficult to take pictures of because it was blocked by building pillars. The male waiter at our table at 6:00 tonight served very well, and the counter staff were also great! These three stars are given to them, but the seat we are sitting in (which can see the Tower Bridge) seems to be the male manager of that area (?, the service attitude is very poor, if the meal time is approaching, you can clearly remind , we were not told that meal time was about to come, and he came over with a stern look and told us that we only have five minutes to finish the meal before paying the bill! It is quite excessive, someone may sit there and eat like this once in their life, but be treated like this , it’s a really bad experience! I hope the restaurant staff can ask him to improve this way of treating guests, it’s very unpleasant!!!! In addition, the service staff need to be trained in the way they serve the food. After the lettuce fell on the table, they just ignored it and did not do any subsequent handling. The way they served the food was completely inconsistent with such a high-priced restaurant.

Great night for a special occassion that went off without a hitch Francesco and Jason were exceptional and made it a great night for the Mrs

Pablo was brilliant and excellent. Couldn’t have asked for a better waiter. He accommodated us very well with respect.

Too many interruptions whilst I was having my meal to be reminded that the table would need to be vacated. To be clear, we had spent close to £450 for a meal for two so not just in the restaurant for a few quick bites. Ultimately had to pack a fair amount of food to takeaway. Not a relaxing experience and frankly disappointing

Food is okay. Service was outrageous. I specifically clarified when booking that it was a birthday dinner and while everyone else having birthdays was getting a small complementary tart with a candle we had to ask for it. Also, we were there at the end of the service on a Sunday night and I asked if we could get a table close to the windows. One of the managers informed me that there was a waiting list for it and that there were two people in front of us but he signed us on the waiting list. After 30-45 minutes there were at least 4 empty tables and no one cared to seat us close to the window. Very unattentive staff for the price point is not what you expect. Won’t be coming back.

Been here quite a few times already and never been disappointed. Really friendly staff that makes a massive difference when you go with a baby/toddler! Food is really good would definitely recommend the wagyu mille feuille! Some dishes felt a bit expensive for the size but the view is amazing so it’s worth it! It’s great to see the chefs preparing the ducks as well.

As I have been there before as well and yesterday was my last time i am visiting there. Because of some 2 portion food per person policy it was very difficult for us to order as there are limited veg options and rice noodles are considered side dishes where as tofu and some salad is considered main that was very stupid and we had to forcefully order a few things that we didn’t wanted to I am not recommending hutong to anyone again

The light is too dark to enjoy the food. The tablecloth is in terrible smell and impact the chopsticks inside.

unforgettable experience. the location is unique, on the thirty-second floor of one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in the world. you have to go to the bathroom at least once during the evening, so as not to miss the experience of doing your things while admiring London from above. As Italians we were lucky to have been served by Claudiano, both for the detailed advice in Italian regarding the courses and for his availability and friendliness. he allowed us to immerse ourselves even more in the experience of Singaporean cuisine, going beyond the pure service expected of his work. the price is high but commensurate with both the quality of the food and the service.

Amazing views and great cocktails and excellent service. We were transferred by the window when a table became available, which definitely made the overall experience even more incredible!

This is our 2nd time at Hutong and it was somehow even better than the first time. The ambiance is perfect, the views are stunning. This time we got a table right by the window facing Tower Bridge. Our cocktails were unique and great. We ordered the iberico pork dumplings, scallop & prawn wontons, roasted half Peking duck, Hutong spicy fried rice, and spicy minced beef and green beans. Everything was absolutely delicious. Yes it’s a pricey restaurant but it’s very much worth it. Our server was also so attentive, friendly, and kind. This is definitely my most favorite restaurant in the world.

Not the best meal I’ve ever eaten by a long shot. We went for the taster menu, Rice was greasy and oily and chicken was chewy. Sadly one of the options we wanted on starters wasn’t available either Disappointing for a 60th birthday celebration but nice ambiance and the waitress was lovely Be aware of the 15% service charge too

I wasn't impressed with a few of the dishes and have had better at my local Chinese takeaway. The egg fried rice was oily, bland and chewy. The wagyu beef was tough and cold The lamb ribs were very bland and greasy Prawn toast, dumplings and duck were good though

The views are stunning here. Took my daughter here for a birthday treat as they do a set lunch mid week that is reasonably priced. Food is decent but we definitely come for the experience. On this particular occasion we had exceptionally great service by a lady called Radia, she went out of her way to adjust the spice for my daughter and took us a private area at the end to take a photo. My daughter would not stop talking about it she loved it!! Thank you.

The biggest waste of money ever. I don't mind spending a lot of money of good food, but this was really truly awful and the owners are conmen for charging so much for absolute garbage. I would not recommend. I was so disappointed by this experience. I went for my birthday to feel special but it had the opposite feeling. God!! what an awful and disappointing experience. You leave feeling so conned out of your money and with a unpleasant feeling. It was supposed to be a special occasion but i just left feeling sad and regretful for going. The crowd were a brash and undesirable, the food was bland and looked and tasted unappetising. Before i even arrived at the door i had a massive feeling of regret. I can only imagine it's the same crowd that go to Nusr-Et (Salt Bae). The cocktails were meh - and £20+ each. The service was lacklustre. My partner paid £48 for some crispy fish dish that was not crispy - it did not command that price tag. My meat main that had been marinating for several hours didn't have flavour, not even salt - so i question what it was marinated in. The rice was oily and looked and tasted boring. The mandarin sorbet was so unappetising that my partner and i didn't eat it. The bill came to £336 and i think a large portion of the bill was because you're in the Shard - which isn't even an impressive building when you think about it. AVOID, it's really not worth it. Stay at ground level and eat better food. There is literally nothing nice to say about this place apart from the view at the urinal and the prawn wontons (which were edible, but l've had better from a frozen bag in the supermarket).

Our party came on Easter Sunday for lunch to celebrate a birthday. To quickly sum up our experience. Our server was very attentive and advised us well when ordering food but it still felt like something was missing. They only have two meantime largers , cocktails are plentiful. The different dishes of food were hot and tasty especially the Iberico pork xiao bao but what really annoyed me was we paid for a whole duck as stated on the menu. We definitely didn't receive a whole duck ! Hutong you should amend your menus as this is mis-selling. My tip would be to keep them carving as much of the whole/half duck as possible in front of you as you only get a small second portion of cubed duck? mixed with lots of greens. If you have a choice of timings the ambience is nicer in the evening. Would I return probably not. While it's a nice thing to say you've seen and done, I wasn't blown away.

The service by Darshan was great , but I feel like the tables were slightly small and high up to eat on. Amazing views but also slightly draughty

The restaurant gets 4 stars because of the view. But the food was no more than expected. Maybe because we ordered the wrong menu. The service was no better than that.

The service was phenomenal, Francesco was on point with the recommendations and I as always only a few steps away if we needed anything else. The Peking Duck was worth the visit alone and a half was more than enough for two people plus a few starters. The views of course are as you’d expect especially once the sun goes down, we overlooked tower bridge but I don’t think there is a bad seat in the restaurant!

Had an excellent private dining experience with our team and esteemed guests from India. Service was handled brilliantly and the lady serving us was very friendly and attentive and didn't forget to include all the guests. Everyone got looked after and all questioned answered, we had a vegetarian in our group and they were looked after very well, making sure they didn't feel left out.

The service was excellent - attentive without being pushy - and we were moved to a window table when one became available. The Flavours of Hutong lunch was excellent value.

We chose hutong to celebrate my best friends engagement, I called ahead and organised a special dessert. When we arrived we were sent to the bar for a drink whilst the table was getting ready, they didn’t have a table for 4 so they put us on 2 separate tables. We then waited over 20 minutes for a drink, and 35 minutes for a table. The food when it arrived was good, but not compared to the premium price point. The prawn rolls were delicious and a stand out for the evening. The fried chicken breast was more chilies than chicken and the wagyu beef was not at all worth the extremely high price point. Our waitress was also not the best, she was very abrupt, didn’t say congratulations, would interrupt us if we asked questions. The sommelier was great though! We had asked to move to a window table when possible and were told we were out on a wait list, but the wait list then somehow went missing. The manager then came over apologies said there was a big miscommunication, and that they didn’t know about the engagement and moved us to the bar with a round of Prosecco and a congratulations dessert which was great and very appreciated however, we all went in with much higher expectations of service and food and for the premium prices, those expectations were not met.

We were so excited to try this place but it really disappointed and in all honesty the best thing about it is the view. Which is absolutely spectacular. The champagne was served warm, the prawn spring rolls were tasteless, the tiger prawns were overcooked and the two were served for a ridiculous amount of money which really I would say across the board - we are happy paying high prices if the value is there but unfortunately this place is just a rip off. We were asked about dessert about 5 mins after our mains were served as we were all eating. They were trying to move us on after we’d been there an hour. Chairs were uncomfortable no place to put coats or bags. Not what you’d expect from a high profile restaurant. Pile ‘em high and sell ‘em high is the theme of Hutong. We won’t be back.

Was going to cancel due to reviews so glad I didn’t. Was great. Service charge steep £8 to open and pour wine, wish I’d payed 10% service charge.

Dinner, atmosphere and service was excellent, thank you. Maybe a bit too much chilli with the chilli prawns but very delicious and flavoursome.

You are forced to queue outside before going through security (despite having a reservation) and when the weather is bad this is not a good way to start your evening and the security team are rude and obnoxious. Our waiter did his best to change our minds on the venue but I would not recommend, there are much better places to go where you get treated a lot better. Disappointing.

Went there with my mother and son for her birthday and was extremely disappointed! The food was mediocre and the xiaolongbao just broke upon touch wasting the soup inside. The coke that we ordered without ice is half full! You would expect more from such a prestigious place. The soup was tiny and we’ve had way better in china town. We ordered half a duck and don’t think we even got all of the meat. We didn’t stay for mains and went straight to china town to our favourite Chinese restaurant.

Everything was exceptional, and the small dessert surprise for my wife on her birthday was a delightful touch. Additionally, the server who took our orders provided excellent service with a consistent smile. Thank you once again!

Very disappointing from start to finish. Table of four ,we both chose the tasting menus that adds to 7 course's basically. Only given 1 hour 45 minutes for £700 of four and wine . Rushed from the moment we sat down I found the food average the only wow item was the broth from the wayu beef This was a special occasion that was completely ruined by the service. We definitely won't be returning.
