Hung Wah in Barnsley

Delivery was fast and food was delicious like usual.

Ordered a family meal of Chicken in orange sauce, beef noodle box, chips, egg fried rice and prawn crackers. The chicken was dry and not very warm. The noodle box was ok but the vegetables were missing and the beef was non existent. The chips and rice were good but the prawn crackers were old and not crispy. Can’t say if the meals were microwaved but certainly got that rubber texture from over cooking. The only thing colder than the food was the service, on the phone and on collection. When to Happy garden in Lundwood last night and had same menu, and was fabulous!

We have given this place a wide berth for several years due to a few constantly bad meals but have given it another chance tonight. There is nothing authentic about these meals. A mix of red hot and clap cold meat in my chow mein which to me means it's been blasted in the microwave. No taste to sauce, like bisto gravy. Curry'powdery and oily at the same time lacking chicken. Waste of money!!

Just ordered from here for the first and last time. The food was terrible. Chicken chow mein the worst I've ever had. The chicken was like jelly, I couldn't eat it. Crispy duck wasn't good, either. Very disappointing!!!

Food is really tasty however waiting time. Got my collection set up for 19:05 and been waiting for over 25 min inside and given fortune cookies to sweeten up. 16/04/2023 Have tried 4 other around me and with hand on me heart I can say this one is the best.

Food is amazing especially the 1/4 aromatic duck one of my faves deffo go back her again

Ordered from here last night. Food was beautiful. Was delivered quickly and hot. My 7 year old daughter also loved it. We had chicken curry, egg fried rice, spare ribs, spring rolls, special chow mein and free prawn crackers. All said how much we had enjoyed it. We have been looking for a new takeaway since our usual one closed. This is definitely our new go to for this cuisine.

Most tasty chinese we had eaten, so many flavours packed into each dish. My mum doesn’t normally like chinese food but she loves this. Crispy Beef is recommended!

Ordered a takeaway last night, the first in a long time. The food was absolutely awful. We orded a portion of chips and they had a bitter vile taste as if they were actually off. Both mains were bland tasteless and mostly onions. Such a shame, this used to be the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Sorry but shan't be using again. It's definitely gone down hill. Our meal went in the bin - total waste of money.

Very uninviting first impression which resembles more of a prison visits vibe than a takeaway - what's going on with the full length perspex screen and the little intercom you've got to talk through? The food wasn't much better than what you'd expect in prison either - there's a theme emerging here! I opted for the Chicken Chow Mein, which, just as other reviews have mentioned was lacking in taste - well actually, it was lacking in every ingredient except the noodles and 4 or 5 strips of what was supposed to be chicken. I've never seen chicken with a consistency of tofu until now!! Hmm not overly impressed.

Ordered king prawn fried rice, the rice tasted ok but the prawns tasted like they had just come straight from the freezer into the wok, they had no taste at all.

Just ordered from here .4 of us ordered only 3 orders came .we rang them for my special curry .said it's on its way took 50 minutes to get here in which time my chips were flat cold .I opened my curry and took a taste and I have to say it's the worst thing I ever tasted thrown away and gone to garage for a burger please don't go here road kill would taste better can't give no stars

Just had a takeout from here and can honestly say it was the worst food I’ve had, special noodle box no taste at all salt & pepper ribs that I think were cooked at the crematorium and beef in ok sauce that was tougher than John Wayne’s boots !! What a waste of £20 safe to say I won’t be going again 🤢.

Me and my dad was having a special night in to bond. Boxing, films, beers, and a takeaway. We decided to order from here. And regretted it. The curry sauce was a big gloop. The gravy was just brown water. Salt and pepper chips were just crunchy chips with onions in them! The chicken was black! All round horrible meals for the both of us! We wish we stuck to our usual Chinese we regretted trying a new one instantly. If you’re trying your first Chinese takeaway or looking for a new takeaway. This is not the one.

i ordered egg fried rice salt and pepper chicken. nothing wrong as of yet with them two orders but i also ordered a chicken curry and im disgusted they can even serve it there was more oil than sauce and also very runny last time i order and for anyone that is thinking of using this takeaway i would strongly advise you didnt. they also have 2 young girls about 14 years old working behind the desk and very rude

Just had our first Chinese from Hung Wah and will certainly be the last. I ordered chicken in orange sauce and fried rice. It was vile. The chicken was bone dry and tough. The sauce I'm convinced was made using washing up water and came in a separate container which I have never known before. Usually comes already on the chicken. All in all a pure waste of money as the rice was ruined with the sauce. Avoid this place. 😡

Foods always decent, had a few problems with delivery’s in the past where O was waiting around 2 hours but apart from that all good.

The food was very substandard and cold the lemon chicken I had was overcooked and very dry the portions were small and unappealing needless to say I won't be using them again!

Just had a set meal for one , Very disappointing, Poor prawn toast and sweet and sour chicken. I have had some great food before from this takeaway however this one I had to throw most away.

Rip off. Charged for delivery when states it's free on orders over £25, and charges extra to change set meal when states can do. Food is awful too and took ages to arrive. Won't be ordering again

Gone down hill in recent months. Almost as though theyve started using cheaper products and/or changed the chef. The taste is not like it use to be.

Standard food prawn crackers are awful though they're discolored and only taste of dirty oil.. Curry sauce on the bland side and chips sometimes have no potatoes inside.. Rice and noodles are ok

Tried a few different Chinese takeaways near us and found this to be one of the best .... not too salty like most are and average takeaway price Will be using again

A very unassuming takeway on a main thoroughfare and you could miss it if youre not careful which would be a shame. The meal took a while to arrive but when it did, it was hot, and tasty. Well worth the wait.

This is my local Chinese which we always use the food is very nice and never had any issues so if you fancy a Chinese get yourself to hung wah

We won't be ordering from these again,the food is nice but unfortunately the order isn't complete when it arrives and when we ring and tell them,we just get fobbed off.it's really disappointing because we have ordered from hung wah for the last five years and not really had a problem and the food has always been nice but the last couple of orders have been wrong and being lied to over the phone just isn't acceptable.

I am VERY disappointed with the service tonight. I ordered at 7.30. I got the confirmation email. At 9pm I rang and was told the meal was on the way. I rang at 10pm to be told that the order was rejected. It wasn't, I have the acceptance email. No apology. I will never use this takeaway again after using them at least twice per week for months.

Good tasty food but over half an hour late. There weren't any free prawn crackers like there usually is.

Usually no problems but didn't bring prawn crackers this time and when we rung they tried telling us they don't give out prawn crackers anymore even though they had just given us a new menu saying that they do.

Ordered chicken chow mein , got beef chow mein , but I like them both so wasn't bothered, very tasty I would order again but next will be chicken , or else lol
