Well, first visit and overwhelmed with choice of quiches, scones and bread and just had to have a breakfast roll each too as staying nearby with the dogs so didn’t sit in. Our bag broke whilst waiting outside and the lovely lady came out to check we were ok - we were struggling with the pooches - and gave us another paper bag.Superb deli and delightful service, will be visiting again whilst on holidays.

Genuine home made food which is honest, tasty, freshly prepared and excellent value for money. We stayed in the area for five nights and enjoyed their take away hospitality on three of these evenings. All the food is prepared on the premises on a daily basis and if you require something from the menu they don’t have you can order for collection the following day. The meals we tried were really lovely and prepared by a dedicated group of ladies who knew what they were doing. Sadly the business we are told will be closing because the owner is anticipating selling the premises. Let us hope these ladies are able to find new premises to continue with this excellent little in this delightful village.

I visited on 13 July with 2 cycling friends.Having ridden from Richmond (North Yorkshire) via Tan Hill & Buttertubs we'd worked up a appetite. There is a great selection of cakes and home made quiche so I chose broccoli quiche with salad and a slice of date square with a pot of tea.The lady serving was very helpful and the food arrive quickly. We sat outside and enjoyed the Yorkshire sun.I was taken aback. The quiche was huge! It was also delicious. I expected a few slices of cucumber, a tomato and a bit of lettuce for the salad but what arrived amazed me. I can't describe the salad, just look at the photo.I was struggling to eat all of the quiche and mindful that we still had a 20 mile ride ahead. It was so good I persevered prepared to accept I might struggle to the impending hills. They must be good as some customers left with whole quiches. They also sell some home made ready meals in foil trays.Great food, friendly staff, great service.I'll be back. Didn't someone famous once say that?

It's amazing what is produced from such a small establishment. There is a large table covered with delicious cakes and pastries and lovely quiches and scones straight from the oven. There's a range of salads and fresh bread; so difficult to choose what to have. There is also a range of frozen meals cooked in-house to take-away to heat up later. Every time I have been there it is really busy.

I seldom feel upset in a coffee shop, I love the ambience, cake and coffee, what's not to like? Shop owners who treat their customers with contempt. I overheard the owner telling the waitress not to let any more members of the public ( in this case paying customers) to use the toilet and to direct them down the street to the public toilet by the village hall. I think was literally taking the p...! If you are providing a service that serves liquid refreshments, and you are inviting members of the public to pay to dine in your establishment, then I think you should also be prepared to let them use a toilet! The coffee was also the worst that I have had in many years. The shop does not have an espresso machine and no skimmed milk, therefore a skinny latte is out of the question. I had a milky coffee, complete with thick skin, and boiled milk. I could not drink it, and will never return to this awful shop.

I don't think I've ever visited such an establishment which boasts a display table which positively creaks with the huge array of freshly baked, beautifully presented, mouthwatering choice of cakes, tarts, and savouries as this. Even as we ate (after an agonising decision as to which to order) more items were brought from the kitchen having just come out of the oven. The lemon tarte was exquisite, as was my wife's choice of the orange cake. Coffees were freshly brewed and very good indeed. Before leaving we bought two generous slices of leek and wensleydale quiche for supper that evening on arrival home. Absolutely delicious, and service was excellent and friendly. A perfect stop for our mountain biking group of 16. Scrumptious freshly made food and smiley, friendly helpful staff. Outdoor seating so that we could keep a watchful eye on our bikes. They also offer a fantastic take away service. We decided that this would be ideal for our evening meal. We discussed the menu for a 3 course meal, well in advance and were not disappointed! It was a real gourmet feast and piping hot.

We popped in here for takeaway, to take back to our accommodation (we were staying in a near by guest house) for a nice cup of afternoon tea! Very immpressive selection of home made tray bakes, biscuits and sumptous decedant cakes :) I chose a slice of the coffee & walnut cake, and my partner went for the Victoria sponge....and also a piece of the home made shortbread. My goodness they were all wonderfull! Beautifully moist & fluffy and light! Very reasonable prices too....we will certainly be back when back in the area. What a great addition to an already wonderful little village :)

We were looking for a light lunch. Humble pie filled the bill perfectly with a delicious chicken liver pate plus salad. Then we saw the cakes and lunch turned out to be not quite as light as we had intended - but the cakes were heavenly.

We stopped by twice on a recent visit to the Dales. Gorgeous food; freshly cooked and out on display to choose from. We ate in; staff hospitable and welcoming. The only down side from our point of view, is that it is a bit expensive. Quiche (medium sized slice) with salad, 2 drinks and 2 pieces of cake cost around £25

Great selection of cakes. Two tables inside to sit in or two/three outside tables. Spotted Wensleydale ice cream in the freezer. Lovely staff. Can take food away which will do next time as the lasagne looked nice. Reasonable prices too.

Firstly this place is deservedly busy. Popular with cyclists hikers and those touring more leisurely in cars. A great selection of healthy home made food and a wonderful spot in a beautiful little town, ensure a great experience. We had the last two slices of quiche Lorraine and it was served with a selection of all the salad items, great coffee followed. Sadly we resisted the urge to try the cakes, I can report they all looked tempting! Good pricing and friendly service meant we visited again later in the week.

What a wonderful find! Open weekends at the moment and so welcoming even in the wild January weather! We visited twice during our holiday and had a wonderful experience on both occasions. Delicious toasties, waffles, pancakes and drinks. And of course, ice cream! (Had to be done, even in January!). The owner and staff were friendly, helpful and fun! Barn beautifully converted, with a lovely mezzanine and a very welcome woodburner! Just the best!

We dropped in after scouring the railway vintage memorabilia shop for a coffee and cakes. A very warm welcome from the staff and from the wonderful coal fire. We enjoyed the railway theme of the cafe and they have various Wensleydale Railway items for sale, such as beer and engraved glass packs. The home baking was excellent and the coffee hot and flavoursome. A good selection of snacks. It's the sort of place where everyone is relaxed and conversations with other customers start. Great to see and hear the trains going by. Seats on the platform if you want to get closer to the action.
