The House of Joro has a 4 room mini hotel, with a restaurant about a 10 minute walk away - although this is due to change soon. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a shared seating and dining area between the four rooms. This encourages socialising with other guests, which I really liked. Breakfast had a Scandinavian feel, with. Lovely young chef providing drinks and the cold breakfast of yogurt with granola, breads, salmon etc… At the restaurant we opted for the premium tasting menu with the matching drinks. The restaurant at present is in a shipping container. This did make it a little noisy, we did struggle to hear our waiters at times. It was great to be able to see the chefs at work and the food was excellent. I really liked the concept behind the tasting menu, which had a sense of Scandinavian meets Asia. I loved the seaweed ice cream sandwich. There is clearly a lot of thought going into the menu creation which made the meal fascinating as well as tasty. The young staff were all very helpful and their enthusiasm for the food really came across well.

A real gem of a place in the city centre. Really high quality furnishings, toiletries and breakfast. Easy to get in and communication. Quite exceptional breakfast and Sophie was great. We didn't eat at the associated restaurant as it was full...maybe next time? Parking on the street is mostly permit. It's OK between 6pm and 8am. We moved the car to a surface parking pay and display which was only 6 minutes walk. Not a real problem.

Delightful - i was so surprised how lovely this wee space was when I arrived. Beautifully appointed - attention to detail everywhere - bedroom was lovely and the cooking - sitting area was a surprise and perfect. Can't imagine why I'd ever stay in a hotel again with this available. Recommended. I didn't eat at the nearby restaurant but two of the other guests did and said it was excellent. I want to say a massive thank you to the House of Joro and staff for being so accommodating and just bloody brilliant for my and my husbands stay! We booked HoJ for our wedding weekend and used the location on Saturday morning for our bridal/bridesmaid prep We stopped as a couple on the Thursday night, had exclusive hire of the place for the Friday for 8 people, and stopped as a couple again in the Saturday night. The facilities were top notch and when we arrived on the Thursday night the place looked fantastic. We booked the king room with the lovely bath which we both took advantage of. All the smellies were lovely and the cookies in the room were a nice touch too. Beds are large and comfy and everything is finished just perfectly. We had the tasting menu on the Friday night which was 10/10 delicious with clear accommodations made for our gluten free and vegetarian guests. All the girls loved the food and it went down a storm. The location was the perfect space to get ourselves ready for the wedding day ont he Saturday, with all of my hair and make up suppliers being allowed access to work from the common area space. It worked for such great photos! The facilities are spot on too, every type of tea/coffe you would like and the space came with Milk and chilled water as well. The honesty fridge was filled with alcoholic and non-alcoholic extras to which we also utilised. We had a delicious breakfast prepared every day for us at a time that was convenient for us, even on the day after our wedding where we were a little worse for wear so breakfast was left outside our room with a fresh pot of coffee. Massive shout out to Sophie who was an absolute legend throughout the whole stay. Nothing was too much and she really worked to make sure things went smoothly for us at a super stressful time. Thanks Sophie!!! We’ll 100% be back to stay!

I booked The House of Jöro for my husband’s 50th birthday. We had the lunch premium tasting menu which was absolutely delicious. We also had the wine flight which really did complement the dishes. The restaurant has a relaxing vibe and all the staff were very knowledgable and clearly passionate about what they do and the service they provide. We also stayed in the House of Jöro accommodation which was just a 5 mins walk away. Very comfortable stay with a lovely continental breakfast served by Sophie who is very helpful and knowledgable. Overall I am so glad we came, a really great find and the best kept secret in Sheffield!

We stayed on a Friday night. The room was ready on time and had clear instructions and communication from the moment we made the booking. The room was comfy and the shower was excellent! The bath was a great touch, that my wife took full advantage of. The living space and kitchen was a great addition and the honesty bar is good touch. Freshly baked cookies in our room was a sign of the amazing food to come. We ate at joro on the Friday night also. The restaurant is a short three minute walk from the rooms. The food as always was mind blowing! It gets better every time we visit. The continental style breakfast in the morning was served on a lovely trolley that we decided to take in our room. The smoked trout and treacle bread were exceptional. And the coffee was also brilliant. After breakfast we took a lovely stroll down to the cutlery works where we indulged in more food at the konjo kitchen. The Mac bao bun was out of this world, along with the Korean fried chicken and Parmesan and truffle hash browns. We couldn't fault our stay and will definitely be staying again.

We stayed overnight at House of Joro in association with having dinner across the road. Our room was lovely. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was chic and well provided with nice smelling toiletries. Breakfast was lovely; warm muffins, smoked fish, cheese and ham, and a delicious yoghurt. The Team member who was there at breakfast was very helpful. The only small thing is the parking- we had to drive around a bit to find a non-permit space but once we did it was all good. Only 5 mins walk from the restaurant which was great on the way home. Thanks for a great stay.

Great to stay here if you are eating at Joro - super concept of open plan communal dining/kitchen/living area and your own private ensuite bedroom. We have room 4 - not large but very comfortable and just what we needed. Loved the breakfast - simple but delicious - very much Joro style - not a croissant or cold piece of toast in sight! Lauren was delightful, really helpful and will definitely book in when we're next eating at Joro.

What an amazing experience! We added a night at House of Joro in the New Year after our usual fantastic 5 course taster menu at Joro itself. The rooms are set up like a large luxury flat, an integrated lounge, kitchen and dining room, with comfortable settees, a long dining table to accommodate the Chef's table and a kitchen much better stocked than mine has ever been! 4 doors lead off the main room, each beautifully equipped with free goodies, and all the interesting snacks you could ever want from the honesty bar in the main lounge. Ours was the accessible room, well laid out and outstanding facilities for wheelchair users. The other 3 bedrooms were spectacular, with free standing baths. Excellent value including a complimentary bottle of Nyetimber English sparking (our favourite!) for each room. Service is low key but perfect, everything is provided that you might want, and you are allowed to use the premises as if you are in a more luxurious version of your own home, including every streaming channel you might ever want. We had liaised with Lauren, who manages the House of Toro, a relatively new member of staff, who made sure everything ran smoothly for us in the run up to our visit, and in terms of checking ourselves in to our room using a password. In the morning, it was a delight to finally meet Lauren, who brought us a magnificent breakfast which we ate at the magnificent table, just the two of us. She was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, with just the right amount of interaction for us, as with all the staff we have interacted with over the years at Joro. The food itself was very Joro, carrot, orange and ginger shots, smoked trout with creme fraiche, delicious French soft cheese, smoked meats, yoghurt, with fruit and muesli, with home made treacle bread and Miso banana bread. It was an outstanding experience, and one I can really recommend! Thank you, Lauren and House of Joro!

Absolutely wonderful stay at House of Joro. We were so well looked after, the booking in process was super simple and our room was gorgeous, complete with luxurious products and lots of thoughtful little extras. We loved the super comfy, super cool lounge/kitchen/dining area although we did opt to have our delicious breakfast in our room. I honestly cannot find the words to describe how fabulous the whole Joro experience is. The food is wonderful, I can honestly say I have not had food as fresh and flavoursome. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable, the restaurant was busy but cosy, noisy but tranquil…simply fabulous. We had a couple of drinks in the Joro bar and shop before our reservation and the service we experienced there was just as good as the main restaurant, served by a very friendly and helpful member of staff we enjoyed some pre dinner drinks and snacks. We had a room in the House of Joro which was modern, clean and included some lovely touches such as, a bottle of English sparkling wine, a carafe of hot chocolate with a separate shot of Mexican liquor to warm it up a little bit more and a freshly prepared breakfast that was just as good as the evening meal…..overall our meal and stay was 11 out of 10!!

We stayed here as part of the JORO dining experience and we were delighted with the overall experience. While this place is not in the most desirable location and does not have private car parking don’t let that put you off. The room was fabulous and although it was quite small, it had all the required amenities and much more including a bottle of English sparkling wine 🍾 to enjoy and 2 fresh homemade cookies 🍪 The breakfast brought to the room on a serving trolley was also delicious 🤤 If you are dining at the JORO restaurant this is an ideal place to stay and experience the same level of standard. Highly recommended 👍🙏

Wonderful afternoon lunch at Joro, and stay overnight just a few minutes away at House of Joro. Great place to stay to explore Kelham Island. The breakfast is especially of note: it's Joro standard, which is exceptionally high! Smoked trout, miso with fruit, artisanal cheese and apple juice... Great value on their offer of lunch and a stay at £185.

Very modern, clean. Excellent attention to detail. Location felt like 'posh' student digs (although this didn't matter one bit to us!). Rooms cramped but perfect for the purpose of our stay. Excellent service, lovely breakfast. Free on street parking (restrictions apply, we stayed overnight at the weekend so didn't apply at the time)

Made the mistake of not mentioning dietary requirements so could not eat the breakfast - I just wish they’d even attempted to find some food for us but they just said they had nothing for us. Not very good customer service. A shame because the room was nice!

A two-night stay at Sheffield's The House of Joro On arrival, we were expecting a "hotel-style" establishment, but this was among other flats and buildings in the street. (Which took forever to find.) On arrival, it was like walking into your friend's flat. Haha! A little smelly too. Seating area and fire to the left, and in the centre, a table and kitchen. I was wondering if this was the right place. We collected our keys from a key safe and entered the room. It was lovely and so clean and modern, but there was no bath, which we requested, as you can imagine. There was no one here to speak to. There were three other rooms also located in this "apartment". The welcome of champagne and cookies was very cute and a nice touch! The bed was INCREDIBLY comfortable, and the cleanliness was immaculate! The downside is that the walls are so thin! We could hear all the other guests in their rooms and also outside in the living area. We didn’t get much sleep at all. Furthermore, if you wish to have a lay-in, Then don’t book here. The breakfast lady begins outside at 6 a.m. and delivers it to you with a knock on the door at 8 a.m. As we are not morning people, this was very frustrating as we had to leave the breakfast cart in our room while we got some more sleep. This accommodation is perfect for a group of 8 people who all know each other, as you could use this apartment as you please. I don’t think it is suitable for mixed groups, and it really is too small, noisy, and intimate. Their website is also very misleading, as you do think you are arriving at a hotel, but it is a ground-floor flat! Sadly not one to return to, but thank you for your hospitality.
