Hotrod Diner in Gravesham

Upon entering the diner, there's a spacious garage style carpark with music classics from the inside of the diner. Inside you're greeted warmly and with an American style decor... booths, chequered flooring, jukebox with American rock and pop classics. The tacos that are starters are absolutely HUGE. I honestly think they could be a main course with a side. They were gorgeous. I had the shrimp tacos and it was bursting with flavour. I had the ribs and wings main which was also underestimated in size... the JD glaze was sweet and the meal was cooked to perfection with the ribs falling off the bone and a huge amount of fries to go with them. I couldn't finish it but had a mojito and a soda float which were also amazing. The mojito has a kick to it so not for the lightweights 👌 Gorgeous food and loads of it, great atmosphere, really friendly and accommodating staff, nostalgic vibes. Hidden gem 💎

Absolutely brilliant place for food if you fancy somewhere to eat with friends or family. I would really recommend coming here to eat and for the experience.

First time here for my daughters 8th birthday meal, we enjoyed are food. We had burgers and chicken burger, was very fresh. We also enjoyed our desserts! Good service by Kelly. Thank you, we will definitely come back again.

The Hot Rod diner is a gem of a place, once you've discovered it you will become a regular. The food is always spot on, well cooked and hot. Staff are great, friendly and helpful always. For the vegans and vegetarians, there are several options and they're really excellent quality (I love them anyway) The waffles are also on the must have lost, but be warned, you will need to go to the Hot Rod hungry, you will leave completely stuffed. Don't drive by this cracking little American themed diner, you don't know what you're missing!

best nachos iv ever had in my life, no exaggeration milkshakes , ICE CREAM FLOATS, pancakes etc. are also really good LOVE the aesthetic, music and overall atmosphere THERES A JUKEBOX that plays 50s music and TV screens showing films like Grease in the background i love wearing vintage outfits to go there, they have live entertainment sometimes too tad expensive but worth the money imo

Great atmosphere with friendly staff. We had an hour and a half table slot but by the time we ordered and food came out we'd used over an hour, they didn't push us to finish and clear the table though when we went over our time slot. Food was really tasty and well prepared but the cheese sauce on the chips was a bit overpowering. Overall, well priced and great tasting food.

Great place, been here a couple of times now with niece and nephew. Once for breakfast, which was excellent, and once for ice cream, also really good. Really nicely decked out, a fun place to dine in. Good service as well. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Fantastic place. Not too expensive, but not cheap either. Food worth every penny. The works(hod dog) was very filling and bun was soft, t-bone steak tender and juicy. The only down for me was coffee - had bad flavour, but I was offered another drink instead so I'm not gonna complain. Staff was really nice and friendly and I enjoyed every moment staying here. Definitely coming back!

I've been here a few times. It's a little out of my way but worth it for the amazing gluten free options, even gluten free waffles. A lot of free gluten free burgers come with revolting, cardboard buns but Hot Rods seem to have taken the time to actually find a decent gluten free bun! Love their gluten free waffles too. Quick service, yummy food and a really unique restaurant. I strongly recommend going here!

Second visit here. First visit went better than second. Food came out and completely the wrong burger from what was ordered. A replacement was given with extra fries. Upon leaving we were overcharged which would have gone unnoticed had my friend not been in the toilets and I was waiting for them to come back. Refund was given via card. We were asked for a £5 deposit per person to book their bottomless breakfast/brunch, which was refunded cash when paying. The listed drinks are the bottomless part only. The French toast breakfast was a lot bigger than in the picture which my friend struggled to eat. Previous visit went hitch free back in the summer.

I often visit Hot rod diner and myu kids love it. quite pricey and NO discounts available whatsoever.# the wait time for your food>>>> VERY LENGTHY. staff are ever so polite and friendly. the only restaurant I give tips. lovely ambiance, boring USA music but heyyyy thats what its all about. food>>> tasty, worth the portions, well made, neat and really tasty. shakes, drinks are good as well. i have ordered via uber eat and it comes hot and tasty. they are gradually introducing discounts on tuesdays if you book in advance. ah well, might give that a try. well recommended

This has been our go-to place for years; kids birthdays, Father's Day - it's the place we all love going to and it never disappoints. Consistently good food and great portion sizes, easy parking and fun decor. Kelly served us today and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. If you haven't visited - go! You won't be disappointed.

Reviewed as a 2 out of 5 in 2017 but credit where it’s due what a transformation. The service & the food are back to their best, great place to come again now really enjoyable. I love coming here again now.

This was a very good experience, I enjoyed the service. It was a good thing and change of scenery from my normal type of experience of food. The food had a good taste and didn't take long to reach our table from being cooked to being served.

Really nice little aesthetic diner. Went with my partner and we got starters and mains. All the food was really good, hot and fresh and didn’t take long to come out. Just as good as anything I’ve had in anything like TGI Fridays, and prices are great. The staff member who served us was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. Also tried one of their signature shakes ‘blue moon’ which was one of the best shakes I’ve ever had! Sooo good, Deffo worth the price and will visit again!

Interesting place with the vibe of 50's in America. There are deals all over week, so check the Web site. Good parking, good food, a bit pricey. Staff was OK, not much personal interaction, but nothing to complain about. I would recommend to pop in for the vintage feel.

We stumbled upon this place by sheer accident. It was such a wonderful spot with great food, fantastic music, and attentive staff. It's definitely a great place to go for people of all ages.

Been going here for years, beats all the other cafe’s in the area by a mile and it is reasonably priced, recommend all American for breakfast 👌🏼

An impressive design, outside and in. Plenty of decor you would expect on an American diner. Female wait staff were friendly and attentive. The food however did not live up to the hype. Buttermilk chicken burger that seemingly had been beaten with a mallet, losing most of its juice. The coating resembled a frozen breaded chicken patty. Mash potato which I believe was instant mash. Just a let down on what could have been a great experience .

Would have given 5 stars but they had run out of steaks and the milk shake machine had broken. Good friendly staff and the food was well presented would certainly go again.

Dreadful and massively overpriced! It's been a few years since I last went to Hot Rod, so I gave it a go today with my partner. There were a total of 2 other table woth people sat at them, perhaps this should have been our hint to turn and run! We sat down and picked out our food, I have no idea how they have lasted for so long not including fries with a £12 burger but whatever, surely the food is incredible, like it was when they first opened? Nope! We ordered what effectively amounted to a cheese burger with sweet potato fries and a couple of chicken "tenders" with bacon & cheese fries. Both were meant to have a hash brown. Only one did. The sweet potato fries tasted like they had been left to soak in cold oil rather than fried at the right temperature. The chicken burger was a few frozen chicken strips, likely from iceland or sinilar, i swear ive had them on a spread at someones party before, with a small bit of burger cheese on top, no sauce, and no hash brown (as ordered) in a stale brioche style bun. The cheese and bacon fries were OK but again I'd suggest that the oil wasn't hit enough to cook them properly. The salad did look fresh but there was no way I was eating anyway at this point, not that our server would know as she didn't come back other than to clear the plates very quickly and didn't say a word to us. At no point were we asked how it was, even when paying. I used to love it here but have now removed my previous positive review because it's honestly dreadful! I'll never be coming here again and would recommend that no one else does either. But wait... the best bit is yet to come, for these plates of poorly prepared, Iceland cheap range food that went very much uneaten. Plus 2 drinks, we were charged over £40!! You'd laugh if it didn't feel like you'd been violated!

Good place, it does feel like an old interstate diner, they do need to put more bike/car events on tho;). Food is good and staff is grate.

Came here for dinner, took around 30 minutes for someone to even come and take our drink order. Food came out at around 7:10 for then the waitress to come to us at 7:25 to say that the next table was here and that we only have the table till 7:30. We was all eating our mains and all felt rushed to eat our food. the waitresses was then taking the empty plates and glasses away to rush us even more. We had no option for dessert and was quickly given our bill to hurry us out. There was no thank you for custom. When booking we was not made aware that there was a 2 hour slot only. Will not be returning.

Excellent family meal. Catered for all ages. Burgers are brilliant. Portion sizes are large! Even catered for our request for dessert. We shall be back

Fresh cooked American food, great food challenges, 1950s feel love it here

We went twice last week, first was lunch for my wife’s birthday with my daughter, fantastic food and excellent service, we returned at the weekend with the rest of the family for breakfast and was not disappointed again the food was excellent and the service brilliant, would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Loved this place. It’s a fun diner and the food was fantastic. The baconzilla burger was particularly good. The milkshakes were delicious and apparently the “Marilyn” was “divine” according to my son 😀. Our waitress was lovely and very efficient. This was our first visit but it definitely will not be our last. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks for a great experience.

Had food delivered few times from this restaurant and always been great. Decided to visit on Sunday afternoon and food was even better !!!! I had buffalo pork ribs and New York hot dog for main course wow Just wow. And the biscoff waffles just...

Went here for brunch, first time I’d been and it was good. Be ordered the All American Breakfast which came with tea or coffee. It arrived hot, good sized portion and very tasty. Service was quick and friendly, nice atmosphere, parked just outside in their car park. It was busy when we arrived (Sunday 10.30am) so I’d recommend booking. I’d go again.

Food was lovely definitely go again

We walked in and got shown to our clean table. The whole place was clean. Given a menu, good options but not too many so choosing was easy. The burgers where to die for honestly and the loaded chips, you get a lot for the price. The service was good, fast and made you feel welcome. The music played isn't too loud and it really feels right for the decorations and area. Over all, super good place, wonderful food, well worth the trip. Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved it.

We live an hour and a half away from this diner. But it's so worth the trip. Food was delicious. I've never eaten so much food out, and enjoyed it all. Staff are lovely, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Will be back again for sure.

I took the Mrs for dinner on a cold Thursday evening, I'd raved on about how good it was even though i had only been once before on a food challenge evening (which I failed) anyway on entering the waitress attending took us to our table and gave us our menu's and we already had a feeling and vibe from her that we were a massive inconvenience several minutes later the Mrs got her Pepsi max and I had a bottle of water, the miserable waitress whom we now called happy took our food order and I had a bb king burger loaded fries and chicken wings in sweet Chipotle sauce and the Mrs had a chicken burger and sweet potato fries ..a humble repast but enuff for us 15 minutes later the food arrived and looked good 👍 average to good size portions and it was freshly cooked tasty,not dry and flavourful but it was still an average meal hardly gourmet and almost to a wetherspoons standard after eating our meal we both felt underwhelmed but full none the less ,seconds after finishing happy returned to ask if we had finished... we had she took our plates and we asked for the bill , she didn't even ask if we had enjoyed our meal or wanted dessert minutes later the £40+ bill arrived , we paid and despite happy being a constant misery through our experience we left a small tip which she ignored upon walking away , so overall terrible service average food and we felt overpriced too I can't see us returning which is a shame because we were hoping for an American style dining experience but instead left feeling disappointed.
