Foods great. Nice atmosphere, staff are lovely great set menu that isn’t too expensive well worth the money boss little place.

Came here for the first time after it was recommended, it's great .Food is lovely, staff are brilliant and it's dog friendly too .Will definitely be back

Ordered a vegan burger and it was microwaved so steaming hot it burnt my mouth and now I have a painful blister. By the time it cooled down enough to eat my boyfriend had finished his meal . Shame because really great atmosphere and really nice halloumi small plate 😕😕

Quite a while waiting for food after starters 30 minutes before main meals steak was cold chips were hot asked waiter to change came back still cold asked if wanted a different meal off menu but had lost appetite my wife ended up leaving rest of her meal as didn't want to eat by herself

First time here tonight. The food is exceptional. Well worth a visit.

We booked a table for 22 people for a family meal my Daughters 21st Birthday. The food was pre booked the day before as they requested, My Daughter is Vegan and also gluten free, they said that wasn’t a problem. We went in the afternoon to give them balloons, banners, posters and bottles of Prosecco for the table, the staff assured us they would have the room set up and “ looking lovely “ we left feeling confident and trusted them to deliver. On arrival at 8pm the room was occupied by other diners and wasn’t set up, not a problem we just got a drink and waited, and waited. In the end we accepted the room was not going to be set up and all sat down after arranging the tables ourselves. I understand they were busy again it’s not a problem but then we waited an age for the starters and were informed some of the starters would come with the mains, then they said the food we had ordered for my Daughter was maybe not gluten free so she ended up having “ chips, hummus and gluten free garlic bread “ ! We ended up eating at 10.30pm, I must say I cannot fault the food it was delicious but very very late, when we were leaving the manager couldn’t stop apologising but then presented me with a bill for all of the drinks £147.00 everyone had paid for their drinks which was disputed by the manager, needless to say we paid the bill but left feeling very angry as we were charged twice the whole night was a shambles very disorganised and very unprofessional, oh and the toilets were dirty with excrement on the floor in one of the 2 toilets, needless to say it was our first and last visit.

11/10. My girlfriend and I got the £30 set menu and it was an incredible 3 course meal which included a bottle of wine each. Value for money was class, however, I was more taken back at how amazing the steak was. Would’ve paid £30 for the steak alone. Highly recommend, hidden gem of allerton road. Service great too!

Lovely meal here this evening - we had the salt and pepper halloumi and two roast dinners. The staff are very helpful and attentive, and the food is well priced. The reason I've not given 5 stars is because the roast potatos were dry and waxy, very hard to cut through - and the vegetarian option could be something better like a nut roast, rather than another piece of veg ☺ overall very nice though!

Had a lovely tasty meal and great service for me, my mum, 2 adult daughters and my baby granddaughter. We were offered a highchair straightaway which was great and were given plenty of time to view the menu as there were so many things we wanted to try. Tables were nice and clean and it has a calming atmosphere. We had a lovely cocktail whilst waiting for our food. Food was delicious and good sized portions. Would definitely go back again.

Nice food and nice place. Its pretty small downstairs and we got put at the back right next to the toilets. The smell was horrible as someome took a dump. We asked to be moved and we were then put upstairs with no dodgey smells.

Food was really good but had to wait over 1 hour for the food despite us ordering before most of the restaurant and just watched as everyone else was getting served.

Love it here. The small plates are all proper tasty and the katsu chicken burger is probably one of the best things I've ever tasted. Great atmosphere too they always have good music on and the staff are sound.

The Sunday roast is spot on the desserts are to die for, the staff are fast and polite it's a little gem this place 😋 love the cocktails too!

Bacon and cheese burger is perfect. Don't change it. Staff are really nice. Atmosphere is great in there nice and cosy.

Date of visit: Friday evening Sept 2021. The food was amazing. Chicken skewer was perfect. Made good use of the small space. Good live music. I'd give this place a 5star but the service was slow and forgetful. Would come back again.

Poor service ..charged £9 for glass of wine..which thought a little expensive..don't think we will be returning ..

My hubby and I visited Hope & Smoke for the first time this evening and we will definitely be back again! The food was absolutely delicious with so much flavour. Prices were good too, as was the atmosphere and service. Such a gem! Can't wait to go back.

Visited with my Mrs last week. Im really fussy about having Sunday lunch away from home never really get the same quality. However this was fab really modern take on a traditional classic lots of different flavours going on at a fair price Nice one guys.

We visited last Thursday and enjoyed their Steak night special with free bottle wine. It was a steak sharing platter with greens, mushrooms, tomatoes and delicious chips. The food was amazing and seasoned to perfection. The service was brilliant our waiter really good. We live local and would definitely go again. We recommend it to our daughter and her husband who went last night and they raved on the food too

Another great meal at Hope and Smoke. As always, a warm welcome on arrival. We were recommended the 20oz Flatiron Steak with all the trimmings. It didn’t disappoint, cooked to perfection. Great drinks and atmosphere. So glad to be back out. See you again soon.

Been here many times before lockdown and was happy to return.Sadly my meal was just awful.Ordered the brisket burger ,I assumed it would be a very soft meat pattie, similar to pulled pork.What I got was a pool of thick ,salty gravy,full of orange oil.The smell should have warned me not to even try it. Fair play, they didn't charge me for it as they took it away,but seiously,we eat with our eyes and I'm now sitting on my bathroom floor....

Booked a table which ready on arrival. Sat in one of the booths which was great. Peroni on draft always a winner.Ordered seven small plates all of which were delicious; salt and pepper dishes are particularly nice as was the belly pork and croquets.This was complimented with the bbq ribs as a main.Girls has lovely cocktails and deserts biscoffi cheescake and eton mess. Both absolutely gorgeous.Live singer was excellent and gave the venue a great atmosphere.The staff were very attentive and frequently came tk the table to make sure we had drinks etc. Thoroughly enjoyable visit. A visit is highly recommended.

Once again, fantastic evening at Hope and Smoke, the food and service cannot be faulted in any way, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, we were there for our anniversary, they gave us a bottle of wine on the house, which I thought was a great gesture, once again Thanks very much to Hope and Smoke for a lovely relaxed evening in great surroundings, we will definitely be back as soon as possible !! Came here a couple times last year once for a drink for my birthday with my partner March 2019 and another in between Christmas & New Year with my partner and a couple of friends from work. Staff are always friendly and atmosphere is good, I like the way the place has been decorated. I’ve not actually eaten here but by the smell from the kitchen and what is served to the customers I can imagine the food is delicious!

2nd visit. First time had a gorgeous roast dinner. This time shared various small plates and the ribs. Fabulous. Everything is so tasty and well cooked. Never had ribs so good. Small plates are imaginative, tasty and great value. Great atmosphere with a live singer . Can’t wait to go back after lockdown. Love it

Well I’ve just had my second Saturday in a row ‘Lockdown take out’. Salt&Pepper chicken skewer, S&P chips and ribs. Again amazing food so thank you. Cannot wait for you to reopen in December, I’m going to book with the family but try the Sunday roast. Support small businesses Liverpool xxx

I have been going here regularly for quite some time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food is just delicious. I love having the small plates, so tasty and full of flavours. Plus if you go on a Saturday night, they have live music form Ellie Keegan who is just brilliant. It's the perfect Saturday night out.

Brilliant place to eat with really good quality food. Its deceptively big in there, we had a table of 5, it has a decent selection of beer and alcohol. It also has some great offers on. We all had burgers (as it was related to an offer on Wednesday and Thursday drink and burger a 10er) Between us we had halloumi burgers and bacon and cheese burger , it was ace: proper home cooked amazing quality burgers with a brioche bun. I also had a cracking biscoff cheesecake, well worth a visit

We went to sample burgers. 10/10 Bacon cheeseburger and hallumi burger Ab fab-bursting with flavour and lovely triple cooked chips. Excellent ipa and lager and finished with lovely biscotti cheesecake. Will def revisit.

Visité a cenar hace unos días con mi familia y fue la comida más agradable que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. Pedimos 4 entrantes diferentes, incluidas las costillas de sal y pimienta, que eran, con mucho, las más bonitas que he probado en mi vida, y los bombones de morcilla, que eran hermosos. Teníamos hamburguesas diferentes para platos principales que de nuevo eran encantadores (y 2 por 1 los miércoles y jueves) y las patatas fritas cocinadas a mano eran para morirse. Jay el servidor fue muy atento y super amable. Todos hemos hecho planes para volver la semana que viene y podemos decir que este será sin duda uno de nuestros restaurantes favoritos en el futuro. ¡No me puedo quejar de nada!

Best food in ages I had swordfish fillet my wife had salmon both cooked perfect starters where belly pork salt and pepper siu mai and black pudding bon bons .All cooked perfectly All staff cheerful and a credit to you John. What can I say that’s not already been said? This place is a gem, warm welcome from Paul, seated immediately at a booth of our choosing. Informed us of the specials but we already knew what we wanted from looking at the menu online. Everything was fresh, hot and cooked to perfection. We opted for 5 small plates and a bowl of cheese & bacon chips... perfect in every way, old school chips, cheese sauce and tons of crisps bacon bits. We left full, satisfied and craving a return. Nice to see the chef on the floor and asking how everything was. 10/10 we will be back.

Went Wednesday evening booked in for 2 hours. Decent beers on tap and nice wines. Starters were very tasty recomend salt and pepper ribs. Ordered brisket spicy burger was very tasty. Service was very prompt and attentive.

Finally made the effort to go to this local restaurant/bar and now realise what we have been missing. I have just had the most amazing brisket burger, tasty, succulent and plentiful. I often watch other plates of food and think maybe ..... but not this time. Can't wait to go back and try some more or a sunday lunch. Thanks to all the staff for a friendly and tasty experience.

My partner and I visited this lovely establishment last Sunday and I must say that it was amazing. We had a starter a main and a dessert! And we couldn’t fault a single thing. The staff were also very friendly and we will definitely be back again soon.

I've thought about going here for a while but never got round to it. Now I'm kicking myself. The meal was amazing. Black pudding bons bons and the potato cheese croquettes....wow. One of nicest starters had in a long time and I eat out a lot. Unlike a previous review we thought the chips were amazing. Like proper home cooked chips. Defo not frozen. Burgers were delicious and huge. I'll defo be back there soon. Maybe even for a roast as they seem to get good reviews. Service was also great and hosts were very attentive.

My family I came here for a Sunday roast as a friend had recommended hope & Smoke. omg alls we can say is if you haven't tried it already then you're in for a treat. We have eaten here before and love the normal menu too. The Food is absolutely delicious and staff are always attentive especially Paul. An extra bonus is that they are super dog friendly which is important to our family when choosing to Dine out.

Just finished a meal here. Was absolutely amazing. The pork belly bites just melt in your mouth. Chicken skewer was just fab. Husband got the brisket burger and halloumi bites which were just perfection. The guy who served us was awesome! I had a bit of a nightmare with my bookings and had to rearrange 2 times like an hour before and he was just so accommodating!! Would highly recommend!!

My wife and I came here for our tea on a quiet Saturday evening and were impressed with the starters we ordered. Salt pepper halloumi was amazing as well as the sticky sausages and croquettes. The mains were OK, but some work needs doing on the soggy, really browned chips! Sorry about that. The ribs were really soft and meaty with a nice bbq sauce on top. The chicken skewer was OK but not to our liking as it was thigh meat, some people prefer this in skewers but not for us. Our service on the night was OK too couldnt complain. We definitely will return to try more of the starters and give something else a try.

Been here a few times now and the food is consistently amazing. Tried almost everything on the menu and it's my new go to place for food. The chicken skewers are definitely worth a try as they're full of flavour. Love the salt and pepper halloumi but you cant go wrong with any of the starters. The atmosphere is chilled and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. Plenty of options for drinks aswell, theyve even got a vegan prosecco. Cant beat hope & smoke, will definitely be visiting here a lot in the future.

Booked last minute on Sunday, 2 adults 1 child, had salt and pepper halloumi to start which was delicious, roast beef, which was cooked to preference, perfectly, and came with cabbage and bacon, cauliflower cheese which went well with the roast. For dessert hope and smoke mess which was a tasty ending to a lovely meal.

Got to be best meal have eaten in a very long time, we had starters of black pudding bonbons and salt and pepper halloumi followed by Chateuabriand for 2 . What a meal ! Taste of the food and quality was sublime, cooked to absolute perfection, really was absolutely delicious. Staff are so attentive and friendly, really lovely atmosphere in here, would definitely recommend it and we will definitely be going back here soon. Prices are so reasonable for the quality of the food here and a lovely ambience.

Amazing atmosphere and brilliant cocktails! Had a live musician on which was the perfect match for the feel of the restaurant! Although I didn’t try the food looks incredible, and I highly recommend a detour for this awesome venue!

Tasty! Something different. Smoked BBQ style ribs, brisket, hot dogs. I had a great value T-bone steak. There is a good selection of bourbon whiskey which I think goes well with the smoked meats.

We had been wanting to go here for dinner for a while as my husband is and avid Smokehouse lover and he had been dying to try the smoked T Bone or Tomahawk, after waiting weeks to be able to go we finally booked this and went, on a Saturday night in January, the restaurants small but cute, they did have live music and she was a great singer guitar player, but it was a little loud,due to we struggled to have a conversation as we sat at the bar having a drink, we were shown to our table and provided with a menu, we were a little shocked as the smoke and hope only have 3 or 4 smoked dishes on the entire menu, and when we tried to order the T Bone / Tomahawk we were told neither was available. I ordered the Sirloin Medium and it arrived overcooked the chicken wings were tasty but the prawn starter was tiny for the price. I doubt we will return ad we were not blown away by the food , availability of dishes, smoked options or service although the people were nice enough for a small family run place it lacked that personal touch.

One of the best roasts I've had in a long time. Only problem was the long wait. Over 40 minutes. Apparently there was an electrical problem in the kitchen. Nice place though and would definitely recommend

Friendly place for a drink. Warm welcome by the staff. Live music was being set up. The food menu looks great - great choices which included a 32 oz steak. Must try next time I am in the area.

We came here in October as had heard great reviews about the roast dinner, and I have to say it did not disappoint!! It was all absolutely delicious with lovely touches such as separate portions of broccoli/cauliflower cheese and tasty cabbage with crispy bacon. We chose the beef which was delicious and a really big portion, all perfectly cooked and absolutely spot on.
