Fabulous food as always, the cheesecake was amazing. Excellent service and would highly recommend this restaurant.

I had the seafood patter which was excellent. Perfectly cooked scallops, king prawns, mussels and calamari all served in a tasty sauce with samphire. Utterly delicious!

The revamp of the restaurant is much improved . The food is excellent and staff friendly and efficient

First visit this weekend having lived in Truro for 7 years now and must say it was great , excellent food , lovely staff and ambience , will return for certain and would highly recommend.

Spontaneous first visit - just happened to be passing - for Saturday lunch when visiting Truro. Excellent food - we had the the local-caught battered Haddock which was very good indeed. Atmosphere and ambience very good - and service prompt friendly and efficient. Value about right too given quality of food. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Had a nice meal here a couple of days ago. Restaurant was quite busy but the service was good. Our only gripe was that we’d come here particularly for the fish - and both fish main courses on the menu had been taken off as they’d sold out … and it was only 7pm! Surely a primarily fish restaurant shouldn’t run out of fish mains so early in the evening? On the positive side the starter and main courses we did have were well executed however the frangipane dessert didn’t quite work. Been put off returning because we’re not sure we’d want to chance if they had any fish left :(

Located in Truro, Hooked is the ultimate seafood hotspot that'll have your taste buds doing a happy dance. We ordered Scallops, “The Doughnut” beef short rib and Wild Mushroom Linguine to eat and The Mermaid cocktail and Elderflower Spritz to drink. We finished off sharing a Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake. The flavours in all the dishes were out of this world and I can honestly say it’s one of the best restaurants I’ve visited while visiting Cornwall. Hooked is a cozy and welcoming restaurant and the service is excellent . If you're celebrating a birthday or just craving some seriously good food, trust me, after eating here you'll be ‘hooked!’

Having walked past the restaurant many times since moving to the area, we finally made the effort to book a table at Hooked in Truro to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we’re very glad we did. The food was beautifully fresh, well presented and most importantly tasted superb. We ordered extra starters as we couldn’t decide on what to have from the various dishes on offer and we couldn’t fault any of it. The chefs clearly take pride in what they do and the fantastic food was coupled with a great atmosphere and attentive and friendly staff. We were very impressed with our first visit and it certainly won’t be our last.

Had an absolutely amazing lunch here today. Looked after brilliantly by Sharna and Lexi, who were attentive and friendly. We had the special starter - short rib beef "doughnut" which was just fantastic, so fresh and clever, and perfectly sized for a starter. Then for lunch I had the hake kiev which was delicious, while my other half had the Indonesian fish curry which looked and tastes vibrant and zingy. Best of all was pudding - the white chocolate / raspberry cheesecake, and frangipane tart, were inhaled in seconds! All pretty reasonably priced and in a really relaxed comfortable setting. We've eaten in plenty of places in Truro and this is right up there! Can't wait to come back on our next trip.

Went for a celebration meal with friends. Everything on the menu was clearly marked with whether it was gluten free or not. I checked anyway when ordering and was reassured everything I ordered was gluten free (because I have coeliac disease). Starter and main were lovely, no problem. I ordered a pudding and when it arrived it had what looked like a crumbled up biscuit on the plate which I didn't remember being on the menu description. I thought I would just check, so I asked the waitress if it was definitely gluten free because it looked like a biscuit. She assured me everything on the plate was gluten free. So I started to eat. I was about halfway through my dessert when the waitress came over and took my plate saying 'the chef hasn't put the chocolate soil on, I'm going to ask him to put some on'. A few minutes later she came back with a new dessert - without any of the biscuit on - saying 'sorry about that, the chef has done you a new one because he didn't put the soil on. I thought it looked a bit pale. He's not our usual chef, he's f***ed up.' I said 'what was it then?' and she said 'shortbread' so I asked 'was it gluten free?' and she said 'no' (starting to look a bit sheepish) She asked me 'will you be alright?' and when I said no she asked if she could get me anything. I said no and she said the dessert would be taken off the bill. When I went to pay she didn't apologise or say anything about it. Having coeliac disease I am now ill and will be for the next few days. Mistakes happen, but if you are not sure you should always double check, and if you accidentally serve someone gluten you need to tell them straight away, not make excuses or go round the houses about chocolate soil. It shows that they do not take dietary requirements seriously which is a real shame as it's a lovely restaurant with otherwise brilliant customer service. Really disappointed and ruined the end of our meal.

We have eaten here many times and food is always top quality and the service is friendly and courteous.

Hooked were very helpful they: - emailed a copy of their Christmas menu to me (the 1st one didn't arrive) - answered my questions about service charge (10% is automatically added to the bill), but you can ask for it to be removed I don't go out for a meal very often because a lot of the food has garlic & or spices etc in it, but I really wanted to join my friends for a Christmas meal (and enjoy it as well) so: - I asked if I could have food without garlic, pepper, mustard & spices & they (unlike many other places) said that if I let them know beforehand, the chef could do so. My 'plain' cooked chicken with veg etc tasted really good - I asked if there were any options to the 3 choices of dessert & they offered me ice-cream or sorbet, which was brilliant And, their Christmas menu had both fish & meat dishes on it & the staff were incredibly helpful, cheerful & efficient
