Hoogah in Swansea

Good service, fab food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend for food and drinks.

This was an unexpected but lovely find for some brunch. It seems to be a place you make a booking for rather than turning up in order to be seated. It felt cramped inside if I being honest but once you get over that then it’s a really good atmosphere. I loved the music playing so much I had my Shazam on auto. The food was the best bit and loved that some of it was organic. If you’re scared to try the rosemary latte, don’t be, it was fantastic.

An excellent place to relax and catch up with friends.

Has two specialty pretzels. Not bad, but not sure why so many raving reviews. The pulled meat was quite dry. Always busy, so we have waited 30 minutes for the food.

It’s been a few weeks since my visit, but this place is great. Amazing style and atmosphere, and the scandi board was totally amazing. Love this place.

You have to try the cinnamon rolls with mascarpone and berries! So good! Super warm staff and great food. If we travel to Wales again we would love to come back ☺️ -1 star for the ambience because it could have been a little warmer

Appalling service from this guy who was in other night. Not very helpful and dismissive. Didn’t feel like staying in. Been there before for Breakfast and it was amazing service. Need to improve communication skills

Great food, well presented. We went on a Sunday late morning, and it was super busy. The waitress found us a table even though they were fully booked and service was a little disjointed, BUT, not going to complain, they were very busy and the food and the latte were top notch; so a little slow service won't detract from the experience. We both had the breakfast, With a warm cinnamon bun and a latte! Will definitely go back when we're back in the area (and will book ahead!!!)

I love this place, the food is really tasty and very reasonably priced, they cater for all types of diets as well, vegan, vegetarian, they offer alternative milk options. The staff are so accommodating and will do their best to assist you. Dog friendly and they also sell some jewellery pieces.

Had a pretzel each and they are really scrummy. Felt they could be slightly more prepared about allergens but they checked everything and the service was fab. I really like the limited menu it works as it lets them provide quality in a nice relaxed but really beautiful place

Lovely Restaurant/Café with probably the most incredible pizzas I've had in the UK. Staff were delightful. Me and my boyfriend have issues finding supportive places on Valentine's Day but Hoogah is a definite return for us :)

Great food and very nice atmosphere!

Lovely people (both sides of the counter), food and drinks. Would definitely recommend. We called in part way through a five hour journey from the south of England to south-west Wales, having read about Hoogah in a book called The Extra Mile, about places not far from motorways that offer better food than the services and are worth the diversion. I'd recommend that, too - we've found excellent eateries all over the place, and Hoogah is another one we'll revisit if we're ever passing by 😀

Atmosphere very chilled, even though it was very busy for the size of the venue. Staff kept a cheerful demeanour throughout the rush.

Lovely place, lovely staff and tasty food.

I was very excited to try this place last year. I’ve visited multiple times and unfortunately each time I notice the same issues. The food is quite average for its price and runs bland. The cinnamon buns are quite dry despite the toppings on top. The pizzas are hit or miss; sometimes the same pizza would taste good, other times it tastes different. It’s just not consistent. The service is slow, even if it’s just for coffee. The staff look worked up and appear unbothered or frustrated when asked for simple things like tap water for the table or extra napkins. The place is otherwise cozy.

You don't have to be vegan to eat here, but it helps. The Brunch Pretzel, was made up of layers of sweet, savoury, runny, chewy snd crunchy. flavours and textures including smoked bacon. If going to the toilet, use number 1 with its inbuilt wooden xylophone.

Very accommodating, we hadn't booked and even though they were busy, they gave us a table. Service was quick and food was well made.

Had multiple delicious breakfasts here during my long weekend in Swansea. Food and coffee are both excellent, and the staff took great care with my food allergies. The decor and atmosphere are also lovely.

The place is busy esp at the weekend so the booking is a must. Nice and relaxing and uplifting vibe, with super friendly staff. The concept of this place is really truly what makes it, local food, neighbourhood place. Good coffee. Really good breakfast hash with crispy chorizos, uniquely leafy spinach and beets, great flavour combo. The hoogah breakfast was HUGE with lots of different Nordic flavour elements and it will stuff you for good for the rest of the day! The best is yet to come - the cinnamon buns, and Nutella - it is the flavour as you’d imagine it.. decadent and rich and perfect treat. Perfect brunch spot but perfect for every occasion.

I go here often and it's always great! Beer selection changes often and the food is locally sourced. Staff are always super friendly.

Ordered the "Charity Pizza" where a percentage of the pizza price is donated to a selected charity (on this occasion, it was RSPCA Llys Nini Animal Centre). Interesting pizza topping which consisted of mozzarella, pickled rhubarb, asparagus & crushed pistachio - tasty and unusual. Good strong flat white coffee also served here and by friendly staff.

Found this restaurant by chance. Awesome atmosphere, amazing food. Clever combinations of Nordic foods. Quirky drinks abound. Great time and absolute value for money.

Top quality beers! Went here with some old friends, they may not be all that cool but they are friends nonetheless. We had some pretzel based food and do not let my terrible photography skills fool you, it was all top tier and I extremely enjoyed. Staff here are super fun and friendly, can’t wait for my next visit that’s for sure

My companion advised me early on, as I was getting a little aerated about the (lack of/inconsistent) service, ‘don’t let their problems become ours, we can have a nice time anyway’ she was of course correct. I calmed down, and eventually, briefly, fell asleep, for what I was later told was an hour wait for food. That was unexpected, as the front section of the restaurant was empty when we entered. I say entered, we were told not not to come in until bidden. Thanks bartender. So I’m slightly mixed about this place, the chef is being slightly let down by the front of house. Which is a shame, because… The food (now we are getting to it) was tasty, local, fresh, different, and very welcome. I was with a group of discerning vegans who all expressed their delight with the dishes that we were served. I’d go again, yes, no, not sure. Sorry to be ambivalent. I dutifully tipped the waitress, the third one, I lost count. I don’t do pictures of food, never does it justice, and all looks like brown mush.

I so so wanted to love this place- heard good things and menu had loads of veggie options! However, after waiting almost an hour for a burnt pizza, surrounded by endometriosis art, it was a weird experience and I won't be going back in a hurry

Good selection of brunch options for vegan/veggies. We sat outside in the courtyard area as it was a nice day. Food was good.

What a find, the atmosphere was vibrant and the ethos of the place was noble. The food was amazing and considering how busy it was came very quickly. The staff were very friendly. I wish we had somewhere like this close to where I live.

I went there for breakfast and I'm really happy with the whole experience. The food was amazing, the place was lovely and the people who work there are really nice and friendly. I had the cinnamon bun with mascarpone and berries, the Welsh cake tiramisu and a hot chocolate. I recommend all of them. It was a bit busy when we got there, so I will suggest to call in advance to book a table, specifically around lunch time. I will 100% come back soon!!

Great food and lovely staff. Booked in at 830pm and after a busy lunch they could only offer a portion of the menu but staff were very apologetic and the food that was available was still very good so still a happy customer!

Staff were very rude to some of the members of our parry. There was a wait between some people getting food and others, which isn't good when your ein a group of 10 people. The food itself was noce and the menu was very interesting. Had a great selection of cocktails which were reasonably priced.

A true food-gallery art in Swansea with top food in the area, excellent service, the most attentive hosts and staff I've seen in years. Seems they're really happy serving. Vibrant yet homie atmosphere. A whole sensory experience.

Goal is to try everything on the menu! Have been twice and both times the food and atmosphere have been amazing. Service is so good as well and everyone is really friendly. Absolutely love the music too. Had brie and cranberry pizza with stir in hot chocolate, highly recommended.

Honestly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. So sad as I've heard such good things about Hoogah but the waiting staff totally let them down, and on top of this my pizza was burnt! We were offered 1 drink in over 2 hours, first drink took 45 minutes to arrive and half the tables drinks arrived after our food. Upon asking what flavour gins they had, we were told the waitress would find out but never returned, this was already half an hour after they had cleared away our empty glasses and when asked can we order another drink she said for the 6th time 'will be right back', as stated previously, 30 minutes passed and then still no drinks order, when she finally returned we decided to ask for the bill rather than a drink. When we had the bill, we were mortified to find the customers on our table before us still had their drinks on there! Another 20 minutes for the waitress to take the drinks off the bill and then said 'be right back with the card machine', after waiting 20 minutes more we decided to pay at the bar (which broke covid rules but we had no choice). Unfortunately I will not be returning.

Food was lovely. Staff superb.Our table was near the back of the restaurant near to the outdoor seating area. The waiters were in and out of the door so often that it was rarely closed. It was a cold night and although we were offered blankets, the temperature did distract from 'cosy' feel.

Delicious food - the pizzas are amazing, the atmosphere cozy and a great selection of drinks. Reasonably priced alcohol. Staff were great - we asked to move table as we were sat by a draught and they were super accommodating.

Really great food -- I keep coming back! The Cubano pretzel is wonderful. They do a lot of things right, service is always friendly, and a lot of the food/drinks are quite delicious. I would avoid the pizza; it's nothing special.

Sadly nothing special despite being recommended by locals. Didn't have my first choice, I ordered something else then even that didn't come as advertised. Then got dessert menu but 45mins later noone had come to take our order so we left.

Not sure what to say about from WOW what a dining experience. Incredibly tasty food, lovely beers and staff that are extremely committed. We will definately be back. Did I mention how much they spoilt the mutt!!! Thank you so much. Ian cheers on all your recommendations.

So good when we went for lunch, we had to return next day for breakfast! Perfect balance of cosy interior, cool vibe, smiling service and delicious food. Enjoyed meat and veggie pretzels with the best turmeric latte, then egg and bean Shakshuka dishes for breakfast. Very lovely chatty owners and team who were perfect hosts from start to finish - grab a table when you can 👌

Its friday night and you feel like relaxing after a long day at work - Hoogah is the best place to go. Food is amazing, service is fantastic (hi Ian&Siobhan!), the mood and music is sooooo chilled. You can sit in or go to the cutest garden ever for great pictures with fairy light backdrop :) there are heaters so even in october its not cold. So happy we managed to book a table!
