Had a great time listening and dancing to some proper good groovy tunes. Don't know why some reviews on here say it's a dirty place - toilets and bar were both immaculate. Bar staff lovely and same to door staff! Will be back 🪩😊

Fabulous Sunday evening with friends. Great music with a lifting atmosphere. Bar staff are friendly and on the ball. Excellent doormen!! Received a friendly greeting and their care continued throughout the evening...thankyou.

Great bar club type soul, dance, motown dj and lovely cocktails - love a dance in here, everyone friendly and respectful. Toilets clean & tidy. Staff attentive, positive vibes & good bar servce. Some seating and booth tables facing where you can dance.

Really rude staff and dirty bar. Went here last weekend with my friends and we had left our coats behind us in a pile and stood next to them, as it was boiling. Turned around for 2 minutes and our coats had been stolen. Brand new £90 coat stolen and my friends was left on the stairs outside. Told the bartender and he said it was my fault for leaving it, didn’t care at all. No help looking, just rude staff with a bad attitude. Messages and rang continuously throughout the week to see if it had been handed in but no reply. Be careful!!! I understand it’s not their responsibility and it was my choice to leave the item unattended, but it was literally centre metres away from me. The bad attitude of the staff and total lack of care made the situation 100% worse.

Visited the venue last week after hearing lots of positive comments, however was very disappointed. Toilets were filthy and when I brought this to the staffs attention, they couldn't be less bothered. Drinks served in dirty glasses and customer service none existent. I'm used to growing up in the Bigg Market, so no snob, but staff need serious training in this place. To make matters worse, my friends coat was stolen. We understand that it is not the venues responsibility for belongings, but no care of consideration on trying to help with a 'shoulder shrug' response.

A great venue for catching up with friends. Music from the past a friendly atmosphere it's like a night club that's open during the day. The staff are very friendly and professional

Came here for the first time on boxing day to a funk and soul night drinks were reasonably priced staff friendly and service at bar was excellent got served straight away atmosphere was great dj doesn't take requests but you dont really need to ask for requests because he played a good range of music from start to finish and the people were pleasant and friendly overall had a very good experience would recommend

Plays great Motown and Northern soul music. Attracts an older crowd who like to have a boogie. Definitely worth a visit.

I am very disappointed. After a few emails asking information about a booth booking and time allowance (which requires £100 in advance) for a small private birthday party, I have been told that the required date is fully booked.... it sounds a bit weird, couldn't you tell me before then?

Fantastic night last night, the bands were just awesome, staff and owner Warren were so lovely plus felt very safe.

It's a night club - but through the day! On a Saturday you can go for a dance to the Northern Soul music at tea time if you want and still be in bed by 10pm 😂

We popped in here one Sunday afternoon, after reading reviews. Seemed a safe, nice place to go. It was awful. Two expensive drink of horrible wine and soda, £17, Bitter and very sour so bad we couldn't drink. That feeling you've read about where your tummy warns you 'this will make you sick' It was busy. We asked a girl if we could put our drinks down next to hers. She said no, as we walked away she became very aggressive, asking us what our problem was!?! Apparently, so I have since been told, there is often fights there. So the two or three doormen were very much needed. Won't be going there again

Great little place with varied artists, djs & music, attracting a decent & knowledgeable range of clientele. Can be a very good atmosphere when the right DJ & crowd hit it off. Average prices, good bar staff.

Myself and 3 of my friends went here on sunday afternoon for dosa.. No problems with door staff.. We hadn't booked and didn't know you had to.. But we found a seat tucked away and were approached by a friendly bar staff and were offered a booth right next to the dance floor x we had a brilliant time and will definitely return

I meant to add a comment and accidentally left without doing so. Great music here if you know your soul, funk and disco, I thoroughly enjoyed the daytime clubbing experience. I have visited many times over the years and as a woman who goes out alone, I can honestly say I've always felt safe here - and welcomed. Warren you and the team do a fantastic job.

Had an amazing time on Sunday afternoon/evening, what a special place, the service and hospitality was first class, the atmosphere was unbelievable, and the music was out of this world, the DJ mixes of some of the best soul music was incredible, thanks Michael for such a memorable day, a must if your ever in Newcastle….

Terrible service from door staff. Arrived at at 5.45pm on a Saturday night. Us 2 males walked up steps and opened doors before realising our wife's were some way behind. Turned around to await for them, then door staff decided it was "members only", even though we were already partially inside. Door staff then became aggressive and confrontational towards us as we questioned the decision. I would never go back to this place This is the second time the door staff have been unreasonable to one of our party. They don't deserve the business.

A great night at the Tyneside home of soul and funk, made even better with a storming set from the Tomorrow Band (featuring Hamish Stuart). The perfect setting!

Its a good bar but the doorman tell you have to have a booking to get in. Which is a joke. I arrived with 3 others and told have to have a booking then after questioning them they let us in. My son arrjved 5 mins later and refused admission again the excuse was not made a booking but groups of people (older) allowed in after with no booking made. I know this as they where another group of friends. I approached the doorman and was fobbed off. I was celebrating first night out after having cancer and they where just totally ignorant individuals. However probably acting in managers direction. It is not the first time they have appeared to be ageist.

First time back for two years so excited used to love coming here always guaranteed a great night with lots of familiar music to dance to. Arrived with friends on Saturday 5th February really disappointed stayed for 2 hours hoping music would improve but it didn't all sounded the same unrecognisable or long play versions. Came away thinking we need to find somewhere else to go to where we can have a dance to music we recognise and enjoy

Absolute joke of a pub To start the Doormen are bunch of S.M.B.,s Who are a disgrace to anyone of the profession as for the pub itself not too bad but not worth a second visit full of pretentious tosspotts

Bouncer said it was members only to a group of 6 of us. We know it was not? We just laughed and left. Lost business and lost regular customers.

Love the place.. Love the music.. But!!! I was at the dosa event last month with my 2 pals.. We're all having a good time.. Havin a dance.. Went to bar and barmaid told me the owner wants me to leave.. No explanation.. No reason.. Just leave.. I asked to speak to him but was told I couldn't. I've since tried to call and sent 3 emails as to why! But no answer! I've heard off other people that this has happened before. All I wanted was a reason why. Completely ruined my day out.

Brilliant but at first we were refused access due to one of our party had brand new trainers on. We told the door staff we had a table booked so were allowed in. Great night once in.

Great party Atmosphere. Stumbled across this place and decided to go in randomly, walked through the doors and found a lively dancefloor full of people in their 30s+ brilliant as I'm 32, me n my girlfriend had a great time so we'll be back!
