Honest Burgers Liverpool Street in City of London, Westminster

Four of us for food. Restaurant was busy but not full. Only 1 member of waiting staff on duty who couldn’t keep up with the demand. She was joined by another person later which eased things but still took 20 mins to get our drinks from ordering with the food arriving a few minutes later. Nothing the matter with the food. Asked for the bill and the waitress came over with the card machine without having given me the bill. Had to ask for the bill before paying, paid and left. Service needs to be improved here.

Nice burger, rustic place. Very simple. Shame the St Albans on closed down.

Best burgers I ever had in a long time! (Yes I had more than one) Staff was also really kind and welcoming and the vibe is also nice and perfect to have a chat over some delicious food.

Being served by people without preparation and qualifications results in this. I'm not putting it directly, but the supposed sympathy and goodwill didn't fit here in this day and time (01/04/2024 17:19pm). Maybe for some non-specific reason but with the restaurant practically empty, full of tables some did have reservation signs and most don’t when entering the premises, the reception wanted me to sit at the window counter, I said no, I want to sit at that table and she simply told me no, that the table was for 4 people and not for two. I understand that if the restaurant was full, it would be fine, but as I said and you can see on the cameras it was completely empty. I've been going to this spot for over 4 years, it may take me a while to go but it's close to home. I've never had this problem before here and I've always sat where I wanted to.But this time even the guy who says he's the "manager", I've never seen him there, said no and he also said he wouldn't serve the food for me. Unfortunate situation, the "manager" was supposed to try to explain herself or convince me with some good reason as to why I shouldn't sit at that table where there were no "reserved” signs than to continue saying that no and the food would not be served and that I would not sit there. It's a regrettable situation, but apparently one more or less customer won't make a difference for you. And don't tell me it's not true what I said because I have proof.

The Chimichuri burger was divine!!! Chips were a bit dry though.

Chips was awful, over fried oily and not fresh Burgers was cold, dry as well, wait more than 30 min. to get the menu and our food they said ; they forgot our table 😒 sorry to say that but never again

Went last night for take away and the price isn’t the issue as much as I asked for no seasoning on my fries and then I only walked three blocks to my hotel to have salted and rosemary cold fries. Sorry but for £15 I expected better. I was too tired to go back. I had the truffle burger which was tasty though. My husband had the local and sadly it was very salty with the chorizo. Today our tummies are a little off and since I couldn’t eat the fries I felt cheated. To pay £15 for just a decent burger seems excessive. Service was friendly as we ordered there. No quality control obviously here. Oh well I won’t be back at least to this location

We enjoyed these burgers and the friendly service. We arrived early (6ish) and the place filled up quickly- Friday night- so probably book ahead. The restaurant had a nice cozy feel. We had Honest Burgers and Fried Chicken burger - both good. The chips weren’t the best we have had but it was an enjoyable meal.

Guys - these guys complained to my company that I complained about them, what a great look for them. Looking at the recent reviews it has all gone downhill here, and that was my experience. Was a regular customer, now I won't be back. Long wait for food. Staff have bad attitude, one of the servers gaslight me when she get the order wrong and demanded I accept whatever but then didn't actually come back to serve it. I had to chase someone else down. For context it took so long that they had CLEARED the table before my missing food came, so everyone had to awkwardly wait without anything to drink. The correct burger and fries eventually arrived, but badly seasoned and too salty, also the fries were all burnt. They removed the service charge and cost for the ruined burger which is the minimum you'd expect. I am glad I don't have to fight for that at least. So I guess they deserve the 1 star.

Great food, always get the vegan burger with slaw which is just delicious. Didn’t realise that we had to pay a booking fee here, and also didn’t receive an email for it - so it was a surprise to hear this when we arrived. Thankfully there was a spare table available for us, otherwise we’d have been turned away.

Food too pricy for the portion and quality we had. Mint lemonade, in particular, was good but too pricy for what it was: a simple lemonade with chopped mint leaves inside. The smash burger was a bit burnt on the outside, not too juicy, the burger itself was a bit small. Rosemary chips are tasty. Small tables where you can't sit comfy. Long wait for the food (about 25 minutes)

Very pleasant place, excellent burger, fries, cider and beer. We were greeted by a nice staff who seated us nicely and ordered. We had food on the table within 5 minutes. I recommend visiting not only for burger lovers, but also for others who want to eat well.

Excellent burger, fries and beer. The service was pleasant and fast. We waited a maximum of 5 minutes for our food and that was quite enough. I recommend to visit ;)

They welcomed us and sat us at the table immediately and shortly after (despite it being full) they let us order there. They brought us the appetizer in a very short time, while for the burgers there was a small mix-up, the orders were lost (I stress again that the place was full). As soon as they noticed it they apologized for the wait and they made them immediately, even with a discount. What can I say, very very good burgers, very friendly staff, place with style and top music. Until next time!

Great food but music was too loud I am afraid. I asked the waitresses 3 times to take the volune down but it didn't have any effect at all despite my insistence. I don't know why the music had to be so loud on a mid-Sunday afternoon.... 🤔😒

Took here by my son by chance. Great burger. Quality was great. Fries different with a herby taste. Service was excellent. Pilsner lager a bit 'hoppy' for me. Not bad value for the City. Would return.

The food was good Ordered a salad with my Chicken burger and all I got were fries. When I told our waitress she rolled her eyes and took my food back. She later came back with my burger and a salad. Good burger Really tasty Salad too sweet

It was tasty - I had double smash with bacon (a little too crusty actually), and “The Chaperone” had the chimichuri. Very, good and the fries were excellent. Only problem was that I asked for hot sauce, a standard in EVERY SINGLE BURGER PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO, and was charged at the end of the bill. This was not mentioned at the time. Why..? Displeasing. Surely they should put a bottle of their hot sauce on the table to make you want to buy some to take home. Good overall though.

Tried Honest Burgers for the first time today, visited with a few colleagues for a work lunch. Service was friendly but the food was a little disappointing... Food was very greasy, especially the onion rings and that was after draining them on napkins first. Due to greasiness, it was hard to taste anything else. So much so, one of my colleagues thoughts he'd eaten calamari rather than onion rings!! My final thought is that I wouldn't rush back unfortunately.

Very tasty burger. Music a bit loud. Service acceptable. Just a heads up they have a mixed sex loo and that's the only provision. It's down in the basement (with music thumping upstairs in the restaurant) so may increase anxiety for anyone already unsettled by that. I don't think either women or decent men want these kinds of facilities. Less privacy and dignity for everyone.

Christmas burger review... Camembert disk is actually a small triangle and is undetectable in the burger. Some chips, but a lot of chip 'scraps' Have had much better i the past from honest... Standards slipping?

Best burger that ate in London. Nice bun, good quality meat, they have off menu burger, the sauces are very good, good bacon. Not five star because the overall quality is like chain food local, but waaaay better than any other franchise/chain burger.

Great food but often busy (for good reason)

Great tasting burger joint on the corner of Widegate street. Our group of 6 stopped for a dinner and they made a space for a us. The service was welcoming and the drinks come served with ice and a glass. 15-20 minutes later our burgers arrived. The chips were crispy and soft inside. The meat was juicy and we enjoyed our food. We will return soon!

A great burger. Slightly uncomfortable seating but the food made up for it

After two Guinness in the WoodIn, this is a good place for a decent burger, fries, slaws and a coke for £22.

The Brooklyn burger was incredible. Highly recommended. Also loved the chimichuri burger too

An exceptionally good burger that I cannot recommend enough. I had heard about the place, but I had never had the chance to try it. The food was amazing, and the staff were very friendly. I tried both takeout and dine-in, and it was top-end quality in both cases. Definitely give it a try, and I'm looking forward to the next time I'm around.

The burgers were nice, but I never really appreciate when there isn't an option that is just a plain burger with basic toppings. I ordered what I thought was that and was a bit upset when I realized it had onion relish, not onions and relish. This was a misreading on my part, but I think it's unfortunate that there isn't a single burger on the menu with basic toppings. I also didn't love the fries. The seasoning is a nice idea, but it was way too heavy on the rosemary

The staff was really nice and our food came fast. We had the onion rings, buffalo wings and burgers with sides and everything was absolutely delicious! Ordering gluten free is absolutely no problem, it was amazing!

Nice, very central venue with very kind and nice service. The menu choice is intriguing, but carefully limited (no desserts of any kind, for example, but no biggie). The ingredient quality is definitely above average, although the bread (like in basically any other burger place in the UK, unfortunately) is still sub par; portions are also not the largest, but still okay for their price and location.

Great burgers and the onion Rings were amazing

We had two tasty burgers at Honest Burgers but my smashed patties with chilly-cheese were exceptionally greasy, the menu said they were ‘lighter’ not greasy. It was filthy, I wouldn’t have it again, the fries were good my husband ate mine as well as his own. Our Dalston beer was awful but the rest of the beer selection didn’t look good - so again I know not to have draft beer. The service was good and the music was fun, Terrance Trent D’arby is always a favourite - three stars is fair.

My husband and I enjoyed food here on Sunday night. I am Gluten Intolerant and our waiter Will was friendly, understanding and helpful. The food was delicious. We plan to eat here again when next in London.

Average burgers, nothing special. The chips were sad and small cut. Onion rings were too oily. Service was nice. To get silverware, salt or pepper one has to ask for.

40FT Beer and burgers were great

Took a wee while to find this gem due to my watch telling me right instead of left! Thanks APPLE. Though it was well worth the extra exercise. Honest Burger is one of these chains where the food is always spot on and it’s only the service that makes the difference. Here the service was immaculate and I won’t bother heading into town in future to visit other branches as this was excellent.

It's probably fair to say that Honest Burgers is the, or one of, the best burger joints there is. Went here recently for the 4th or 5th time, and it's as good as ever. They understand that a burger doesn't have to be 2 ft tall, it needs to be eatable, and juicy, and that's what it does. Chips are fab too.
