Home Restaurant in Belfast

We were excited to try this Michelin restaurant when we arrived at Belfast. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the pork scratchings & home brown sauce. The texture was perfect and the sauce was delicious. The starters were a bit of a let down. The Crispy Fried Cauliflower came with a black bean and chilli vinaigrette, however the sauce was extremely salty. We also ordered the Duck and Foie Gras Terrine was better in terms of taste. The mains made up for this though. We ordered the Rump of Mourne Lamb, which was cooked beautifully and the flavour and texture was perfect. I would happily return here solely because of this dish. The dessert menu was given to us separately. We ordered the Rice Pudding which had a lot of flavour. This is a great restaurant and I would recommend a visit here to anyone in Belfast!

Went for lunch with a friend. Had a main course. Food was very tasty but really overpriced and portions are small

If they only have the table by the bar, go another time! We went for a birthday and it was good until a large party came in and whilst waiting to be seated they were crowded round two sides of our table. The waiter said there wasn't much that they could do which I found difficult to understand. They were a bit drunk and kept banging into our table and backs of chairs (the photo doesn't do it justice). The whole front of the restaurant is open and maybe be a bit better if larger bookings are kept waiting there rather than standing round a table. Be good if there was a rethink, but if not make sure your booking isn't here. The salad starter was delicious but the vegan burger was a bit plain.

The food was good and didn't take too long to arrive, my only complaint (food wise) is that there wasn't enough bread with the hummus. I had been to Home before and the staff were great however, the guy who served us this time was extremely odd. He was quite intense and abrupt, rolled his eyes a lot, it seemed like a few things were a chore for him and multiple times his body was up against mine when clearing the table - I would prefer waiters who don't feel the need to lean on me to clear the table. A 10% service charge automatically added on to our bill, after we had starters, main courses and cocktails - this was quite a substantial addition to the bill. I don't feel the additional charge reflected the service provided therefore, I won't be back any time soon.

What a wonderful night,service out of this world,staff so friendly, very informative ,meal was excellent ,cooked to perfection ,and well presented,plus great choice on menu so will definitely be returning. Sooner rather than later 👍🤩🍽

Headed up to Belfast for the night. Heard the food scene in really taking off. Stumbled upon Home. Nice minimal large dining room. Food was excellent. I made an error when ordering and it was sorted out straight away with no fuss. The staff where great chatty and relaxed, yet still professional. Will definitely recommend and be back. We'll done guys.

Very expensive and small portions

This place is well worth its Michelin Star award! The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Absolutely delicious! We had the fish and the chicken. Both were on point!

I grabbed a business lunch here and the food was fantastic. Service and staff were lovely. Will defo return for dinner some time.

Great food and drinks! Casual vibe

Very poor experience. Waited over an hour for a 2-course lunch. My daughter requested a side of fries instead of a starter. Good call. When my main course of duck eventually arrived it was on its own bar a few stodgy lentils. No veg. No salad. No garnish. And we were charged for the side order of fries as well as the full price of £19 for the two “mains” Very poor communication during the hour wait. No one offered any advice. It’s a mystery how this place was as busy as it was if the service we received was typical Very disappointed- won’t be back

We had a wonderful lunch here. Lots to choose from on the menu for all tastes. Staff were helpful and the place was buzzing, highly recommend.

2.75⭐️ The starters were good on balance - the hummus was fine, but the sourdough with whipped cheese, candied walnuts and grapes was excellent. The mains however were not good - we sadly had to send back the cauliflower dish as it was just too salty to eat. The falafel salad was okay. Wouldn’t return - a real shame!

Excellent spot. Accommodated me on short notice. Had the Goat Cheese Mousse and the duck breast along with some of their drinks (Ameretto Sour was great !) Very impressed with the quality of all. Service was excellent and an easy going atmosphere. Will be back for sure.

The food was delicious. I was with my Celiac friend. They had a Gluten-free menu, it was very helpful. And then; we had a problem with her order first but they were very helpful and she got her gluten-free food at the end and she liked it. I also loved my food -fish-! Definitely recommended! 😉

Service was amazing, atmosphere friendly and homely. Disappointing special of the day: sea food fritters with rice noodles on a miso sauce and broccoli. There were just fish fritters pieces and no sea food fritters, did not get a prawn or squid ....just white fish . Friends who asked for salmon were extremely happy with their option

Disappointed on a very limited menu. Staff are outstanding however the offerings are nothing to write home about. Have to say I've had equally good pub grub with less expense.

Great restaurant, ideal for pre theatre dinner, food quality excellent and value for money on a three course set menu. Unlike many typical restaurants in Belfast Home provides space between each table allowing access and privacy. I will be visiting again.

Tonight I have just had one of my best meals of all time! Started with possibly the best sausage roll I’ve ever had and followed up with the duck in an amazing red wine sauce and potato with black pudding croquette which was delicious, with a wonderful pinot Grigio to accompany. For pudding, just about every establishment has a go at a sticky toffee pudding and this was a very good one! Alba was an amazing waitress, very friendly and helpful, a lovely ambiance in the restaurant and just about one of the best meals I have ever had!!!! Thank you!

Have been here quite a few times and with their recent award we were excited to go - how wrong can you be! Ordered pre dinner drinks - they arrived after the starters. Party of 4 but Only 3 starters arrived and we had to wait another 10mins for the 4th - which was only cheese. Not a great start. So hard to get a drink we had to resort to going to the bar ourselves. The noise was unbelievable - quite a struggle to have a conversation - felt like we were caught between stag/hens dos! To top that the couple next to us got a bit flirty and she then took off here shoes and relaxed out on the seats - having bare feet beside you while trying to eat isn’t very pleasant! To top it all off when the waitress brought the dessert it was ‘Right, who wants the cheesecake like’? - No, we ordered the torte - ‘Aye the white chocolate cheesecake’ then practically threw it down ‘Sure it’s all the same like - just a fancy name like - sure waddaya expect I from West’… No actually we do expect. Absolutely Terrible. On a plus note, the food itself was very good. Just a pity how they served it.

I had a great time at this restaurant with my girlfriend. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We ordered farmed chicken with gnocchi and onions, hummus, burger and fries. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and spacious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying and affordable meal.

Ordered seabass with some sort of bean sauce. Aside from it not tasting anything above average, it came with no sides, just a fillet of seabass on a plate with a little sauce spooned on the side. For £25!! Hugely disappointing. How much effort or cost would it be to include a few chips or some veg alongside?

Visited Home for a prix5 menu. Enjoyed a venison burger with cranberry and blue cheese. Great burger. My folks had duck and chicken which both enjoyed too. Super service, well done.

A wonderful elegant experience had by myself and my children. A very comfortable setting with beautifullly prepared food that tasted as good as it looked. Great staff who know how to make a family feel welcome.

Wonderful restaurant that sparked a new obsession with gin brambles 😋. Our party of four came for lunch and were very pleased with the food, drinks and the service--we kept bringing it up the rest of the day. One member of our party has significant dietary restrictions that were taken so seriously the kitchen even made her a special gravy since they didn't have any on offer that were wine-free. We initially thought the place might be a bit stuffy, but our server got our vibe and made us laugh. We loved it.

The Baileys coffee was divine. Absolutely delicious. A perfect way to end a most wonderful meal. Had the salmon - brilliant. Highly recommended.

Worst meal out I’ve had in a while… 1st course was burnt, 2nd course cold & 3rd course dry. Service was mediocre, we waited 30 minutes for cocktails to arrive. The restaurant itself was also not a pleasant place to sit at all.

We had an excellent meal with a great corner seat however probably because of the size of the restaurant it was very noisy.

Visited as a group of four for a business lunch on a Monday. Service was pretty mixed. Some of the staff were very friendly and others not so energetic. Waited quite a while to get a drinks order. The burger was tasty but not worth the £17 in my opinion - it was lacking volume. Will probably head somewhere else next time.

Dined at Home on our annual visit to the Christmas markets. The restaurant was busy but the staff were brilliant making time for our 15 month old and 8 year old. As always the food was excellent. Can definitely recommend.

Tried here during the week, the staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive. The food was of decent quality, just slightly on the small portion for a pasta dish but was tasty.

Unfortunately our experience in this restaurant wasn't great at all. Food wasn't as described in Meniu and had extra inredients, but its nothing compare to taste. Chicken wasn't fresh also hard, 3 different foods of 7 were way oversalted. In restaurant the environment is very chaotic and loud, you can't talk to people at the table , because couldn't hear anyone. Way overpriced as food isn't tasty. Worst experience in Belfast ever. Only one thing it was amazing, was service, guy who served us is worth Michelin star, but definately not restaurant.

We visited here for my partners 40th (we did put this on the booking form but it was never acknowledged). The service was slow and it was hard work getting the waiters attention so we could order. However, i did feel sorry for him, he was serving a large group of people and 4 other tables and there was only him. Maybe the restaurant ought to think about employing somebody else to help so everybody can have an enjoyable experience. Food was great 10/10.

Unfortunately this restaurant has gone down hill big time. Went for lunch Saturday had not been for 18 months and it’s changed. Oh decor and service good but that’s where it ends. Food was sparse and overly expensive. Ordered soup £7. It was a small bowl cold with 1 slice of cheap bread. Had a veggie red curry which lacked substance and cost over £17. Was soooo disappointed and will not be returning nor recommending to friends or family.

The food was generally good - I really enjoyed my venison but the service was rather embarrassing. The waiter was quite abrupt at times and when my friend asked advice about which wine to choose this was not forthcoming. Having said this, we sat for ages and chatted, and were not put under pressure to leave, and the waiter didn't complain when my friend ordered a starter as his dessert!

First visit to this restaurant and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Warmly welcomed on arrival the place had a lovely atmosphere despite it being a dark rainy Sunday night. The servers we had were knowledgeable about the menu and wine and we really liked our choices. The wine was excellent for the price. Overall our experience was 100% positive and we would not hesitate to recommend.

Visited with 5 work colleagues on a Wednesday evening following a recommendation. We weren’t disappointed. Everyone’s meal was excellent, great service and ambience. The pork chop was amazing and so was the sticky toffee pudding. All at reasonable prices for a city centre. We’ll be returning!

Starters were lovely but my wife had the 'Monkfish, Thai Red Curry & Rice Noodles' dish for mains and it was not good. She expected it to be quite saucy as a Thai red curry normally would be but there was no sauce at all. The fish was ok but the noodles were very bland and oily and she left most of them. We did wonder afterwards if actually there should have been a pot of sauce on the side that never made it to us? The service was also poor. I had mentioned on the reservation that it was my wife's birthday, the greeter wished her a happy birthday and offered her a glass of bubbles on the house. This was a lovely start to things, but unfortunately it went downhill form there. When ordering our food the waiter asked if he should take the wine glasses or if we would be ordering wine, we said we would be ordering a bottle soon, expecting he would come back to take an order, but he didn't. He seemed very pre-occuppied with a large table in the corner. In the end we asked 3 times to various waiters about ordering some wine and were told multiple times someone would be back soon to take an order, but they didn't. Finally we got someone to take an order and he was just plain rude about it. We decided not to get a bottle as it was so late in the meal, we ordered 2 glasses and they arrived just after we finished out main courses! There was no apology or even recognition that my wife had been sat without a drink for 30+ minutes. We also felt that we were sat in quite an odd location with people constantly brushing past us on their way to the toilets. Not sure if this is a regular table or a last-minute addition. All in all it was a poor experience and certainly not a memorable birthday night out.

My friend and I had a lovely relaxing meal here. Good service and nice choice of meals. Plenty for vegetarians. We both opted for the hake, mussels, shrimp and champ. Delicious. Very handy location in City Centre near City Hall

First time visiting Belfast and while searching for a place with good vegan food, we ran into Home. The restaurant is listed on the Michelin website (no stars). They offer a vegetarian and a vegan menu among meat and fish dishes. The place is full of life and noisy when full. Service was very nice. We ordered a parsnip soup and sourdough bread for starters. The soup was delicious and creamy, the bread was warm and the olive tapenade delicious. As mains, we went for a rigatoni with tomato confit and green salsa (mint and basil) and a salt and pepper tofu on a bed of mango cole slaw. Both dishes were fresh and vibrant. The star of the night was dessert, a coconut and pineapple sticky rice that was to die for... Creamy and sweet with the tanginess of the fruit. Also ordered 3 bottles of water, a pint of Guinness and a mint tea. We paid £ 70 which included a 10% service charge. What an amazing value for the quality of food we were served! A must visit. Enjoy!!!

A restaurant that could be so much better if they would only sort the ventilation… I visited with client for a business lunch. On entering, we were met by a haze of smoke from the open kitchen, and on leaving it was clear we both smelt of food…. I know other people who refuse to eat here because of the smell of food on your clothes when you leave. The food was excellent and our waitress was really pleasant. Home should be one of Belfast’s best value high quality restaurants, but not when you have to pay to have your clothes dry-cleaned afterwards…..

Dined at lunchtime and have to say I was really surprised that I hadn't heard of this restaurant before. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (I arrived a little early) but took me to the table to enjoy a drink whilst I waited for friends. The menu was amazing in that it catered for lots of appetite options. The 2 course set menu was very reasonably priced and the quality of the food was exceptional. Tables were nicely spaced and there was a really warm atmosphere. My only niggle was the accessible toilet could do with a wheelchair friendly makeover.

I went there with friends from Switzerland and they are used to Michelin star dining. We enjoyed the friendly service and exquisite food that exceeded our expectations..

An impromptu supper on the way to the waterfront. From the outset, clearly a great team, and great welcome, we had the last 2 tables at the bar. Very fresh and colourful dishes, and superb flavours (we had Monkfish Thai curry). Possibly one of the best, informal dining experiences in Belfast. We were made to feel welcome and at home. Thank you. PS - try the coconut rice for pudding!

Our waiter was very thorough and attentive which was wonderful! Great atmosphere and location. The sticky toffee pudding was wonderful! It was a well done meal.

We ate here with our tour group. We had a special menu and ordered the Soup and Arancini Balls for our appetizer. The Arancini Balls were very spicy. I have ordered these on many occasions, and they were never so spicy. We had chicken for our main course that was on the dry side and surrounded by way too much salsa. The sticky pudding was good. If these items are consistent with their regular menu, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

9 of us had a birthday Sunday lunch here. The service was timely and staff friendly and patient with my grandson. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. We all had starters which were delicious and good sized portions. The arancini scampi and soup were all delicious. Again the mains were all lovely and we had a selection with two of the party vegans. I would recommend this restaurant and would return.

Always try to visit Home when I come home to visit Belfast and always enjoy our meals here. On this occasion, there were four of us (we raised a glass to absent friends) and this was probably our best visit yet. Two of us plumped...

Heerlijk gegeten. Wij kozen bewust voor alleen voorgerechten om zoveel mogelijk smaken te proberen. De bediening is erg vriendelijk, de akoestiek is echter vreselijk.. zodra het restaurant vol zit kan je bijna geen normaal gesprek voeren door het lawaai.

Bonne cuisine, choix multiples. Toutefois, la pièce est fumeuse et peu aérée.

This is a great place to meet and eat before a show. Fantastic food presented and served with love. Varied food options with plenty for those with a restricted diet, lovely wine list too!

I loved our experience here the staff. Especially the blonde in charge we’re extremely friendly and very helpful! The food was amazing and all three of us loved our meals! I felt the Hake was outstanding!

Prix fixe or alacart for lunch or dinner. Pate was spot on. Venison very filling. Staff was unobtrusive yet attentive.

Very impressed there are gluten free menus and vegetarian ones. We are a country with the highest amount of diagnosed celiacs so wish other restaurants offered the same. Sadly not. Staff very friendly and efficient. Prices quite expensive for a bowl of fries for example so do we really need a service charge added to the bill? I had hummus and gluten free bread but compared to my companions who had the non gluten free option the portion of gluten free bread was significantly smaller meaning I had to finish my hummus on its own which was a bit disappointing. Just give the same amount of bread folks! Overall a pleasant experience on a late lunch. On that note we sampled lunch at a later date at the peak lunch time. The choice is limited if you want gluten free and vegetarian so the menu didn't wow on that front. The restaurant was busy to the point of a bit overpowering so obviously very popular. If you want a quieter dining experience then avoiding the peak lunch times would be recommended. Overall not blown away by choice of food for me anyway and quite expensive for what we had, but still impressed people with dietary requirements are not forgotten about if price not an issue. Most people with no dietary requirements have plenty to choose from. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and staff are efficient and friendly even when very busy.

Fabulous spot. Excellent spot. Location is very convenient, central to everywhere. The food was superb and the service was second to none. Price wise it was very reasonable. We really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be back again the next time we are in...

Had dinner here, just myself. No trouble getting in without reservation. Think my table had a reservation, but there was still plenty of time until those people would arrive. Ordered the set three course meal you can order before a certain time (think it is 5pm). The braised pork cheeks were good!

Great Restaurant, food was good just lacking a bit of seasoning, overall a very nice experience.

The food here was first rate and the service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. Only gripes was that there are only 2 toilets, one disabled and one other small toilet. But would still recommend for the fab food and service.

Excellent lunch at Home! High quality and seasonal products perfectly cooked. Very affordable price considering the standards of the food. Would go back regularly if I would live in Belfast.

Group of 40+ of us came in at once. The staff was great and kept up like it was a family of 4. Great job to everyone from the cooks to the waiters. (And the dish washers)

Superb food and excellent service

I had the lamb (3 slices) which came with potato & veggies. My wife ordered the Sunday special of roast beef (3 slices), two kinds of potatoes, yorkshire pudding, & veggies. Service was excellent. You'll likely need a reservation. Located across from the Wellington Place...

Food was great, probably the best meal we had in Belfast. Service could be improved, probably need more staff especially during peak hours. We came on a Saturday evening. My order was incorrectly taken but the food was so good that I ate it anyway. An apology would have been great though. Gnocchi and salmon mains were really good!

Highly recommend this restaurant for excellent food and cocktails in Belfast. Great atmosphere and seemed busy every time we walked passed.
