The best ever! The cauliflower & feta starter and chicken panko main were excellent. Just a shame the Friday & Saturday take away service has ended.

We had a very enjoyable lunch at Home Farm Cafe. Great covid friendly set up. Despite being busy, they had a good system and the food came out promptly.The asian noodle salad was delicious as was the halloumi flatbread (albeit the flatbread was a bit tricky to eat with the wooden knives and forks!)Great pit stop after a walk around the estate.

We had the £40 for 2 three course takeaway option. the food was amazing and it was easy to order on line, to collect and the heating instructions were excellent. I hope that the takeaway continues post lockdown.

I came here with my Mum and my 5 month old and we absolutely loved it! The service was so slick and we felt totally safe without it feeling at all clinical. The food was absolutely delicious. The jacket potatoes were loaded and the cake was gorgeous. There were toilet and baby changing facilities available and it was easy to manoeuvre the pram around. Highly recommend enjoying a walk along the river followed by a trip here!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway on Saturday evening, which contained high quality ingredients and easy to follow instructions. Also, excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Had the takeaway meals throughout the winter and always found to be of excellent quality, just proving you get what you pay for.

We had the take away menu for 2 on 27th March. A real treat. Food was fabulous. Easy to order on line and easy and safe collection on the day. Great serving instruction that were simple and straightforward. We so miss eating out. This really cheered us both up. We will be back!!

Ordered the Saturday 3 course for 2 people was really lovely quality ingredients so easy to finish off at home with great instructions just like having a restaurant meal at home would definitely recommend and would have again thankyou

We've missed being able to eat at Home Farm during the lockdown, but fortunately, they offer 'take away' meals on a Friday and Saturday night. You have to order online from their menu (which includes a vegetarian option) and collect your order in the afternoon of the day you have nominated. The take-away meals are well up to the standard of their normal eat in offering and come with simple instructions for preparing and finishing off prior to eating. So nice to be able to enjoy Home Farm's lovely food in the comfort of one's own home. I hope they continue to offer some takeaway options even after they are able to re-open. Because I'm reviewing their take away option most of the normal answers below do not relate to takeaway so I've had to mark them as 'not sure'.

I ordered the 3 courses for 2 people for £40 deal and was so pleased with it. Quality produce, generous portions and such good value. Will definitely be ordering again.

Can't rate the atmosphere as it was a takeaway, delicious food, so simple to book online and really easy to follow instructions, we can't wait until you open again to eat with you !

Our Valentine's takeaway was great – delicious, easy to finish off at home, and looked great, as well as being very reasonably priced. The environmentally-friendly packaging was a bonus. We will certainly order another before very long!

As always excellent takeaway this time for Valentines. Restaurant standard food that is easy to re heat and tastes just as good as a visit to Home Farm Cafe. I honestly can’t fault it!

Home Farm Cafe is an admirable enterprise we Bovey Tracey residents really appreciate. The menus (for both eating in or take-away) are a delicious, creative use of local resources and stand comparison with anywhere else.

Our 5-course Valentine's takeaway meal was delicious. This was our second takeaway during the current lockdown and both meals have been great. The quality is similar to their eat-in restaurant quality and the re-heating instructions are straightforward. Such a treat during the current climate.

Our two course Sunday lunch take away was just brilliant and such good value for money. The meals were packaged and presented so well. The re-heating/preparation instructions were simple to follow and the food not only looked amazing but was really delicious, really good portion size too. It was so good we can't wait for this coming Sunday's Valentines Day takeaway menu! Well done Home Farm Cafe you never disappoint x

We had a 3 course takeaway from Home Farm this weekend and it was mega! All 3 courses were absolutely delish (pulled pork was my favourite), couldn't fault it. Such good value and the food was just as good as they usually serve at the Cafe. Thanks Home Farm, we'll be doing that again!

We've used Home Farm Cafe's 'at home' a few times this year and it is simply a great offering, picked up after a long dog walk, easy to follow instructions, and totally delicious, we cant wait to try the Valentines Day Dinner, highly recommend...

It was one of the greatest things to discover this restaurant. The dinner was exquisite and we also repeat it for breakfast. DELICIOUS!

We are spoilt for choice for cafe's in Bovey. Home Farm is one of the best, excellent locally sourced ingredients prepared and served by long-serving chefs and staff. Covid management is probably the best we've come across and the newly laid out interior not only looks great but provides a very reassuring level of safety.

Superb meal _ delicious food. Excellent warm and welcoming service. Intimate and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect venue.

Visited with my son and husband for a spot of lunch. I had pie, mash and veg and they both had beef pasties. All were lovely and tastes great. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and seated quickly inside without having to book.Theres lots of lovely things to choose from and their cakes look fab.We were served quickly and paid by card.Really enjoyed our visit.

Lovely seating area and the lady working outside was friendly. Unfortunately the food wasn't good but overpriced! I think another reviewer mentions Cafe 360 in Bovey Tracy, which is a great place for food and drink post/pre walk. Sorry Home Farm, disappointed.

Having read all your fabulous reviews I’m wondering if I was in the same eating establishment. Ordered pasties which were like chewing cardboard they were so dry and a child’s cheese baguette with no butter and cheese grated into pinheads. Not many two year olds can handle a baguette but there was no sliced bread alternative as I did ask. The salad was good and the coffee was hot is the best praise I can muster. Very disappointing.

Absolutely the best meal we have experienced in 13 years living in Devon. The presentation was so beautiful that it felt wrong to eat the meals. When we did though the flavours and quality of the food was out of this world. Thoroughly recommend this venue whatever the occasion.

Excellent cafe and a model of organisation in these COVID times. Good food and quick service. Staff friendly. Outdoor eating so keep fingers crossed for a dry spell!

Stopped here as we were in the area and looking for a place to grab some lunch. Lovely spot, great food, friendly staff, overall lovely experience. We will be back.

This was our first visit since Covid measures were put in place, and it was great to be back, sipping the best cappuccino in town! We also had the delicious Dartmoor Burger, which I highly recommend- both the burger and the wedges were lovely. The changes to the ordering etc is very thorough and well thought out. They have definitely adapted well, making customers feel safe and looked after. The menu still provides plenty of choice, and I’m looking forward to working my way through it!!

Was so looking forward to my cream tea here in Devon (mummy’s holiday treat!) and couldn’t have made a better choice. Light fluffy scones, fruity strawberry jam, proper clotted cream- we were all in heaven!

Had coffee and cake in the sunshine and everything was very well done from queueing to ordering and collection of our order so if I could give more than five stars I would also the staff as always were lovely so credit where credits due well done Home Farm well done definitely more visits in the future

During these COVID days you will be hard pushed to find a better organised café than this. Clear signage, separate order and collect (you get a gadget that bleeps when your order is ready to collect), regular table cleaning, easily accessible sanitation station. Currently all food and drink served in eco friendly disposable utensils. Food and drink excellent and friendly service. Ten out of ten...(full marks)

Took my mum and boys for afternoon coffee and cake. Well organised for order/collection. Plenty of outdoor seating for us. Please note it’s quite a steep walk down from the car park if you are with anyone with mobility issues. Lovely setting. Friendly staff. Recommend the chocolate brownies!

We went to the cafe for lunch. Service was great and they have established a great setup post Lockdown. We had the Dartmoor burger and it was fantastic. Really worth a visit.

Lunch outside today and Home Farm Cafe was as good as ever. Baguettes and coffee were delicious, served in recyclable single use boxes, cutlery, cups etc. They have thought of everything to ensure customer and staff safety, with hand sanitiser, virtual menus, customer pagers and NHS tracking. Well done, looking forward to evening openings as soon as it's safe.

So pleased to have such great vegan choices, creating a bit of a dilemma! Even more pleased when a beautiful plate of food arrived and I knew I'd chosen well. Gorgeous rich filling in bread that was just the right balance of crunch, softness and flavour. And how could a simple side salad taste so good? I savoured every single bite. And it's in the middle of a National Trust estate so you can walk if off afterwards. What more do you need?

We come here on a fairly regular basis and the food is always delicious. Presentation, flavour and quantity is great. Nice long walk along by the river afterwards to walk off the calories. Highly recommend!

Lovely food, great location, friendly and helpful staff, reasonable prices. I have been here several times but only twice for food. There was a slight issue which got immediately and thoroughly rectified. They go out of heir way to make sure your visit is the best it can be. Recommended.

We went here after going for a walk with the dog . They have special building you can take your dogs in.....what a good idea. We had coffee and cake which was delicious. Thoroughly recommend it.

Popped in for lunch after a walk. Great food and there was plenty of choice, but food did take a very long time to come. It did arrive before drinks though - they took longer! It was a shame as the selection of salads, sandwiches and hot meals was lovely and portions were generous.

A beautiful day up in Haytor with a lovely walk followed by a fantastic Sunday lunch at Home Farm ... we had Venison and Chirizo Ragu with Roasted potatoes . As the name suggests it was a cooked and served in a very home farm way - everything looked great. I would strongly recommend after a walk - either in Haytor or just around Parke itself . And the cakes looked fantastic but they are for another occasion ... recommend

We came here for dinner to try the three course Christmas menu. Firstly this place is so homely and warm, with gorgeous lighting, stunning art work by the owner capturing local wildlife and cosy furniture. The menu was perfect in so many ways and it was hard to choose which main and dessert to go for. Firstly The starter was a fresh winter salad was delicious with local cheese and candied walnuts to add to the flavour. The warm fresh bread olive and balsamic and butter also went down well. In the end i choose to have the Seared breast of guinea fowl with cranberry and chestnut stuffing, crispy leeks and a mustard cream sauce. It was cooked to perfection and so warming. I also really enjoyed the fondant potato and sautéed vegetables. The chocolate moose delice dessert was also a 'wow'. The local sharpham dart valley reserve wine was also a treat. A wonderful meal with wonderful staff. Thank you to Tom the chef. We are very lucky to have this venue in our local area.

As in previous years we went here for an early Xmas lunch - Home Farm Cafe style - having previously booked a table. We weren't disappointed ! From start to finish both the service and food were truly outstanding. The quality of the dishes we had was wonderful; the Chefs are truly highly skilled and the ancillary staff provide excellent support. We dined from the Cafe's Xmas menu and had a starter and a dessert each and were rewarded with superbly cooked and presented dishes. I'm not normally in the mood of dishing out excessive praise but this food certainly warrants it. We live locally but would still make the effort if we didn't. Simply put, it's a great place to eat. Long may it survive !!!And very many thanks to the talented chefs and ladies who run the place.

When trying to find a midway point to meet with friends this gem of a place popped up. The food was absolutely fabulous. I had the chicken and bacon baguette, and my companions had the soup and a jacket potato -- which was talked about in depth on the journey home. A 'proper' jacket potato, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. We will certainly be back in the new year for more, along with a stretch of the legs on one of the lovely walks available.

The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is that the cafe seating area is quite crammed in and space is limited. Plenty of seating outside if the weather is good however.

Lovely food, but the restaurant was freezing. I had a pasty that could have had a bit more meat in it and my wife had a jacket potato with ham and cheese which she said was lovely.

It is well worth making the trip to this delightful place although if you want an evening meal you will need to book. I can recommend using the online booking via their website which is very straight forward. Evening meals are conducted as one sitting only, with everyone arriving around 7pm for 7.30 dinner. The starter is usually a sharing plate of salad and bread and there is always a choice of around 4-5 mains and desserts. Food allergies and intolerances are well-catered for and the staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. Did I mention that the food is excellent. All beautifully cooked - fresh and locally sourced ingredients. This is one of those places where we have either just been, or have a date in the diary for our next visit!!

Booked a table online at the Home Farm Cafe for dinner. A very easy operation and it didnt dissappoint. We both had the three course menu at £21.95 and found it great value and the food served of excellent quality as ever. We were seated in the long room and whilst there were only six diners there ( the downstairs was busier) the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. Service was good with attentive waiting staff, but not overbearing. We love the sharing starters which are always interesting and very tasty. Our main corses of venison ragout and slow cooked beef were very well presented and the puddings were lovely. We often wonder if paying five times the cost of the Home Farm Cafe at some celebrity chef's restaurant would give 5 times the pleasure. Somehow I doubt it. Well done all concerned.

Last minute booking whilst visiting NT Parke for a walk in the afternoon. Delicious dinner - excellent quality three courses. Lovely atmosphere & quirky decor. Attentive staff. Highly recommend. A real treat!

Planned our dog walk so we could call for lunch, what a let down. We initially asked for baguettes advertised on the board outside only to be told they finished at 12 (not mentioned on the board), no diet drinks, soup a different flavour to the one on today’s menu, no ham, no pasties....... My husband gave up at that point and just ordered tea and a different baguette for me. Green tea arrived for him, his face was a picture as he’s definitely not a green tea drinker. My white baguette arrived shortly after and whilst tasty it was at best luke-warm and brown, the melted blue cheese appeared to be cheddar.

I wasn’t allowed in the cafe as I had my dog with me. Then told to go around the back to the Long Room. Later this was referred to by staff as the Back Room. It lacked atmosphere. As a solo traveller then found I had to go to main counter. And leave the dog unattended.

The service was very good and friendly. Really welcoming for dogs. Have been before and will use again.

Lovely cafè with seating inside & outside, which they allow dogs inside and out. They do take away hot drinks which you can take on a walk around the national trust parke. They do lovely meals and cakes including cream teas. Lovely relaxed & cozy atmosphere.

As a birthday treat my partner and I had dinner here. It was a wet and windy night as we made our way from the car park to this very small wooden clad bistro restaurant. Once inside out of the rain i was struck by the ambience of the open plan kitchen and seeing the chefs busily preparing the evenings food.

A cosy and tasty sanctuary on a wet and windy September afternoon. A good warm cheese scone is a thing of beauty and these did not disappoint. Lots of choice on the daytime menu whilst the evening menu also looks great. Will definitely be back.

This is our second visit to this lovely restaurant tucked away down a track near Bovey Tracy . It’s a charming place , unpretentious serving excellent fresh food at a very reasonable price .We were a group of 3 on this visit . It is a set menu , normally starting with a large salad to share . On this occasion it featured rocket , black beans , feta cheese and fruits with a coconut dressing . There’s a choice of 4 mains including beef , chicken , duck and a veggie option . We all chose the beef ,which was melt in the mouth delicious all served with local seasonal veg . There is also a choice of 4 deserts including spiced pear crumble , rhubarb fool , chocolate pie and again a veggie option . All this for under £30.00 per head .The wine list is also very reasonably priced .This is a fa ntastic place that should not be missed . Top tip , always book ahead , even midweek, there is only one dinner sitting , and the tables fill up very quickly . It is also very popular with the locals .

We have just returned from lunch here after a dog walk. Fresh, home produced, delicious food and very quick service. Staff are friendly and smiley. Worth a trip.

This cafe was very nice,the seating area outside was really lovely, it was a Sunny day so sitting outside was great.

Lovely lunch pulled gammon salad for me and husband had a baguette plus we shared a choc brownie. All very good and wonderful to sit outside with the dog. First time here would definitely come again.

Sat outside and was brought a great cream tea fine finally to our stay in S.Devon every table was full on this Saturday afternoon and we were the only couple without dogs. If you don't like dogs don't come.

My husband and I treated ourselves to both the set night time restaurant 3 course meal and the casual lunch after a walk through the amazing national park. On both occasions the food was fabulous and the service excellent. We cannot recommend this cafe restaurant highly enough.

Make sure you book well in advance as it very popular. I had my doubts about this place, at £25 per head for three courses plus drinks. My sister assured me it was good.

I have eaten here several times before and it never disappoints. The food was exceptional and so was the service. The chef is always happy to say hello and makes the whole experience very personal. Sadly, it is about an hours drive from home so I don't get to go as often as I would like.

Had lunch here at Home Farm with 12 friends. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and I am sure we will return again soon. Highly recommended for any occasion or just a light lunch.

Parke Estate is great for walking & dog walking. Home Farm Café is really good, seating inside or sit outside in the courtyard. The food is lovely and always tastes home made. Good prices too.

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Parke National Trust, Home Farm Cafe is a great place to drop in during the day, and also on weekend nights. I went with a party of 3 on a Friday night, (it appears that my prior reservation was indeed vital and it was a sell out). Outstanding value for money, and whilst the first of 3 courses is served at 1900-1930 (they only do one sitting) there was absolutely no sense of being rushed or hurried. The quality of the food was far superior to those I have tried in some far more expensive establishments and is a testament to the kitchen team led by the industrious Tom, who made a point of coming to talk to us after the meal. The staff are extremely courteous, nothing being a problem for them. The wine choices also very good given that evenings doesn’t appear to be their core business (we enjoyed an excellent bottle of English Sharpham, from their vineyard just down the road), but what I was impressed with the most was the way that great local produce was utilised throughout the menu. Highly recommended and I will be going back later this year when next in area.

Another lovely lunch at our favourite cafe. Pulled ham salad was very fresh and tasty. Followed up with a piece of Victoria sponge and a latte. Now just need to hang around for dinner!

We came here purely for the cream tea, we were not disappointed! The scones were warm and fluffy with creamy clotted cream and tasty fruity strawberry jam. We had a fruit scone and plain scone both were so good.

Fantastic food, good quality but can be a bit pricey: not somewhere to go regularly, 4 breakfast baguettes, 2 coffees and 2 drinks was about £38. Lovely setting and outside area, nice to see dogs are not allowed indoors but can still be with us outside.

We visited for an evening meal while staying at Lurcombe Farm Cottages. "Locally sourced food" is a bit of a cliché these days but the lamb and pork we had really were sourced locally and were excellent and imaginatively cooked. The vegetables were truly seasonal (English asparagus!) and the salad starter was imaginative. The only problem with the puddings was which one to choose!

The salads to start are always packed with flavour, I can honestly say I've not enjoyed a salad more anywhere else. The choice for your main course is normally between 4 and have always been fantastic for me and my family when we've visited. Dessert is the icing on the cake...quite literally. Not too big but never too small and delightful. Highly recommend booking an evening here.

Went to Home Farm Cafe at Parke for lunch with family. Food was AMAZING. Locally sourced and divine. Staff were friendly and helpful. The big house at Parke is home to National Trust offices and only the grounds are open to the public. Don't make our mistake and follow the disabled parking signs for the offices! Head for the customer car park and there is disabled parking beyond it near the cafe. You can also drive down to the cafe and drop someone off and then return to the car park if someone in your party has limited mobiltu. Dogs are also welcome.

Ambience etc is lovely, food however was a disappointment!!

We all came here for a lovely Easter lunch, the chilli, lime chicken burgers were fantastic, the beef burgers and briskit were fantastic.

I am not easily impressed, but the meal I had at this place was very good. A try of the scones as well, scones are usually quite bland and boring, these were clearly homemade and very nice.

Everyone is served at the same time so if a group arrive late everyone is delayed.

We visited the cafe Friday evening for the set menu and there were 10 of us I was extremely disappointed as we had one dish of potatoes between us all and when we asked for some more as a there were only 2 small potatoes per person we were advised there were none.

Can't fault this cafe for either setting nor food and service. It's a wonderful atmosphere; you can stop for a cup of tea & a slice of cake or go along for a full three course meal and everything in between. Every taste is catered for, & the staff couldn't be nicer if they tried.
