This was a great surprise for a big breakfast or brunch. I loved the baked stuffed potato ham, pineapple and cheese. Friends had the full breakfast, we ate in but they were busy with take out as well. Very small for sitting in so you may want to order and take out.

Spotted the cafe on our way to the castle after parking at the ncp car park and planned a takeaway on return to the car. Glad we dod - the frothiest hot chocolate and the most amazing bakes (we sampled the Belgian chocolate cookie and the chocolate muffin). Delicious!

First breakfast in Edinburgh, which leaves us not only a good flavor but also a warm welcome. We quite enjoy it a lot!!!

Stoped in to get lunch to while on my lunch break. The place is tiny and I mean it; there’s barely space for more than five people. I would have sat in but there was no space so I got me food to go. There were only two guys working and both ignored me for a solid couple of minutes. I Eventually one of the guys came over and took my order by which point there was a queue of people behind me. I got a cheese toastie which was decent enough but a bit expensive for the quality. All the food seemed expensive for what you got. You could honestly make yourself a better sandwich at home for much cheaper. All in all I can’t say I see why this place had such good reviews. I doubt I’ll be back.

A great find close to the Holyrood Palace. We went early on a Sunday to get a table as there are only 2 or 3 total tables plus a small counter. The proprietor was friendly and so capable, serving us wonderful coffees and large tasty breakfasts. Excellent all around!

Fantastic place just off the Royal Mile. Prices very good. Takeaway is available. Small and cosy and worth the visit if you wish to start the day right. Sandwiches and bagels available for lunch. Recommended to other to visit. 10/10

Smashing wee spot in a brilliant location! Falafel, hummus roll was delicious. Coffee and Rocky road was amazing. Had a chat with the owner/server who is a really nice and genuine guy. Cute and cozy. Love the big window looking on to the street, the decor and the place is really neat, clean and tidy. Will deffinetley visit again the next time I'm through in Edinburgh from the West of Scotland.

Found this little cafe when out on a walk on our 2 night stay in the city. Popped in for brunch. Fab warm, toasted breakfast rolls. Lovely soft scrambled egg, made as requested. Lovely hot tea and coffee. So good we visited the next day and just as good. Loved sitting at window people watching too. Would much prefer to spend money in little independent place than large chain. Definitely recommend. Will visit again

We visited for breakfast and both had a roll and a hot drink, think it was about £8 for the 2 of us, it was very nice although I don't think it was cooked fresh, but the rolls werre grilled which was nice. Overall we liked it and would visit again.

Delightful service and delicious food for a lunch stop. Jacket potato and panini served with a lovely Italian side salad.

This is our second visit and we were not disappointed. The food is excellent, bacon, Brie & cranberry panini served with a lovely fresh salad. Ham & cheese croissant with salad. Highly recommend this wee coffee shop. All Covid precautions taken.

Si te gustan los tradicionales tatties al horno escoceses, este es definitivamente el mejor lugar para probarlos. ¡Uno de los mejores que he probado! Amazing. Visited this place twice in 24 hours in Edinburgh. Coffee is delicious. Food was amazing. We are still unsure how he made it, as his kitchen is tiny. But I would highly recommend this place for food and coffee 👌🏻

This was a nice surprise Christmas present. And very enjoyable one. I am gluten @ dairy intolerant so never sure about what I will get to eat. But I was very happy with Holyrood cafe,lots of nice things to eat great tea and very nice staff.

Had breakfast here on our first morning, had a lovely hot chocolate and a bacon sandwich. Great food for a great price and there are stools along the window if you like people watching.

When you only have soup and jacket potatoes, they should at least try to make the potatoes hot.

Brilliant, we ordered up breakfast at half four on a Friday afternoon. An unusual treat for me was that he had fennel teas (and camomile, redbush, green, fruity nonsense and Earl Grey) as well as the standard 'builder's cuppa'.Clean, fresh establisment. Non-stained cutlery. Large mugs for tea and coffee.This cafe is right on a set of traffic lights. We visited on a very sunny day in September so there was a lot of human traffic passing the windows, and some people sat outside the Sally Army hostel opposite as part of the view. There are x3 tables comfortably seating two inside the shop.The guy calls your order when the food is cooked so you fetch it yourself.There's no toilet, and a step-up from street level. The shape of the premises is triangular so I don't consider this wheelchair accessible.

Lovely little coffee shop in a busy area, but felt slightly like a tourist trap.

Man kann hier schön im Freien sitzen mit Blick auf den Königspalast, das Essen ist nicht mehr royal sondern erinnert an eine mittelmäßige Kantine. Aber was soll's, wir waren nicht wegen dem Essen hier.

Came here for a quick lunch with my friend. We each had a wrap and a panini, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed - the perfect food on an Autumn day. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and the food came quickly. Really chilled atmosphere as well. Really looking forward to visiting again soon!

Base price of £3.50 for tuna mayo roll. Charged an extra £1.50 to add three salad items. To top it off, one was missing when I got back to work and opened it. Total ripoff and not competitive with surrounding sandwich shops.

Visited with my girlfriend, we were only in for about 20 minutes but the coffee was great and the place had a nice atmosphere. We shared a slice of shortbread which was very nice, too.
