Great for families. Had a bouncy castle (not sure if that was just for Easter) big garden and a mud kitchen plus a little kids play area inside. Friendly staff and although we didn’t eat the kids food was great so we would eat here next time!

We came with our two young kids for a quick drink but stayed for hours as they loved it. The bouncy castle was a big hit with the the kids eldest and both loved the indoor play area and books. Really good value food and friendly service with a great atmosphere

Halloween lunch was great the children were entertained. The magician was very good and the food was delicious. Great value for the money. Rachel and staff always so friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend a visit.

Called in for Sunday lunch, we hadn't booked but we were able to find a seat. We was told there would be a 30min wait as they were busy. The food arrived and it was really nice, well worth the wait and at a good price too. We will definitely be coming back

A very friendly place with an amazing outside seating area. The kids loved the bouncy castle, sand pit and giant connect 4. Staff were lovely and chatty. I'm lucky to have such a perfect local.

Lovely clean place. Superb service, friendly staff and informative. The food (Sunday lunch) was delicious and plentiful. Deserts are scrumptious especially the special board - Honeycomb cheesecake. This is a place we will return to again and again.

went for Sunday lunch yesterday (30/07/23 ) with friends, I had the roast pork which was disgusting more gristle and fat than meat ,found it nearly impossible to cut any meat away from the fat and gristle ,Yorkshire pudding didn't taste to good in fact the whole meal needed putting in the bin, the lady came to our table asking if everything was ok so I said no and showed her the state of my pork and all she said was do you want another piece I said no thank you ,she wasn't bothered one bit about my complaint.my friend also complained about her beef which was as tuff as old boots and she told the lady that she will take it home for her dog ,the lady just replied of that's best place for it . we will never go there ever again worst meal we,ve ever had !!!!

We have been to Holme Hall Inn with our kids a few times recently, the first was for a brilliant love music event ‘Russ Fest’ which featured some local musicians & bands, as well as some more popular artists from further afield, it was a fantastic family day out! We returned today for a Sunday dinner as people at the festival told us how good the roast dinners are here… They were right! A good helping of roast beef with plenty of veg, mash, roasties & Yorkshire’s! It was obvious that everything on our plates was homemade, including the stuffing, no frozen cheats!… My Mrs had a homemade pie, which was packed with meat! She loved it! The kids really enjoyed the waffles & ice cream, and the bouncy castle too, not in that order though! If you’re looking for a friendly family pub with lots to do for the kids, a good selection of drinks and truly homemade roast dinners, at a fair price, in a good location on the outskirts of Chesterfield, close to the Peak District, give this place a try

Cheap and cheerful NOT Gravy was oily and thin Since when does stuffing go with gammon and beef. It looks like it thrown on plate, then when critism is give landlady gets heckles up. Could do lot better even though in holmehall and standards not high there anyhow.

Had our grandsons 7th birthday party here today (Saturday 20 May 2023) really did us proud. Staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommend this place for any celebration. Even bought us a speaker out to play music via blue tooth. Well done to you all and will definitely be coming back 🎉🎉

had Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and it was fabulous. home made proper dinner, very accomodating with vegetarian, gf and standard lunches for 11 of us. All piping hot, friendly service. I believe today was the busiest they have ever been, but managed with smiles 🙂 Highly recommended, but book in advance if you want to be sure of eating!

Excellent Sunday Lunch! The standard of the beef was really good and better than most generic pub offerings. It is also very good value for money, at £9.50 for a standard, or £11.50 for a large lunch. I would suggest trying it out. It is a bit off the beaten track, but well worth a visit The bar staff and landlady are also very friendly.

Well, what can I say. What a place! We travelled up from the south to visit family for the weekend and I decided to try here. I was diagnosed with Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) about 3 years ago which is a chronic stomach acid problem & it has changed so much of what I can eat & my diet has become very bland. I explained to the barmaid & she could not do me enough. She listened carefully & then she willingly spoke to the chef (who I understood was her dad). Honestly, they were so kind & caring & went to so much trouble so I could have a meal. The chef even cooked me a jacket potato & removed the potato out of it to mash it because I cannot have butter/marg or milk. The plate was a very generous portion size & there was a very good selection of fresh vegetables. I cannot praise them enough, I do not know anyone else who has been so helpful when I have eaten out. They took so much care to ensure my meal was right. I had the chicken roast, the chicken was beautifully cooked & tasted divine. What a find this place is so you will not be surprised to read that I/we will be back each time we return to visit family. The atmosphere in the whole place was welcoming & so friendly. I felt so relaxed & comfortable. After all, why would I consider anywhere else after the trouble they went to, the food is outstanding, the service second to none & the staff very efficient, friendly & welcoming. I would definitely without a doubt recommend this pub to anyone thinking of visiting. You will not be disappointed. If we lived in the area this pub would be my local, I cannot fault the pub, staff or service at all for both food or drink. My husband had the beef & he was well pleased with it, he also had the large & trust me it was large!! I had regular & for me that was like a large!!

Lived in Holme Hall for a few years we decided to use the pub has a meeting place for my wife's 30th, once the landlady found out, she got balloons and banners out and made us a party corner, lovely friendly atmosphere.

Fantastic warm welcome. Took the dog in and first thing they asked is does the dog want some water. We had a tuna salad and porky pig cheesy chips both delicious. Don't miss this hidden gem of a pub.

Popped in for an afternoon drink, friendly staff and dog friendly. Nice large shaded beer garden plus plenty of room inside. They also serve food too. (open from 2pm weekdays, 12pm weekends)

This has to be one of the friendliest “local” pubs ever! Full of chatter around the bar and a great couple running it! They know your name and what you want to drink. Started to serve Sunday lunches now and provide entertainment. Great atmosphere!

Nobody seems to be able to make a go of this pub and changes hands frequently. For the last 9 months no food has been available. If you like multiple TV screens and loud music and karaoke nights, this is the place for you.

Very polite bar staff and managers Ken and Michelle have made the pub the best in years it's now has a wide range of people coming into the pub which welcomes anyone .

Lovely pub and well managed now but its a shame that the language around the bar is not good. This is locals mainly who do not seem to care about anybody who brings in their wife or children but also on this occasion bar staff, a young and obviously immature male having a paddy. Needs nipping in the bud.

I have been both at lunch time and evening and always tasty. The sunday dinner I have had on several occasions is home made. Choice of meats including lamb chicken and beef all served with fresh vegetables cauliflower brocoli and carrotts. Plus proper mashed and roast potatoes and tasty gravy.

Sunday lunch for 8. Fabulous food, freshly cooked at an amazing price. What more could anyone ask for. Attentive staff and well kept beer. Highly recommended and we'll be visiting again.

it is advertising the the best chips in Chesterfield. I DON`T think so I could of made better myself at home.(and other food I ordered) i thought I would give them a try and give my daughter a treat out. on the door they say they do food until 7.30 pm so we went in just after 7pm and they said sorry the kitchen has been has been turned off (but give them their due they did turn them back on for us but my feeling was the food was done half heartily. only because I complained). I had came in that dinner time and asked about the food etc and what time they finished serving,and no-one said that they wasn`t doing food after 7pm.on a Saturday night to finish doing food at 7.30pm seems a funny time to stop. when some people go out on a Saturday night to have something to eat and to have a drink. the only good thing I can say about this pub is that they let you take dogs inside.I know it is a family pub so I did expect children to be there but not running around freely while I was trying to eat my dinner and asking me and my daughter questions about our food.(like what have you got, do you like it and have you finished yet) while me and my daughter was trying to have a conversation. I understand that children have toys but what toys they had (toy animals like a Noah Ark - toy farm??) was spread out so you could easily trip over them. we felt TOTALLY UNWELCOME in our local pub. I/WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK and I wouldn`t recommend going there for food.

Just driving passed yesterday and popped in to see if they did Sunday lunch. Yes they did and it was excellent . The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was so cheap and value for money. Will go again.

Porciones muy grandes, de excelente calidad, no pude encontrar ningún defecto alguno y todo por £5.00 cada una. Encargado y todo el personal muy agradable. Sin duda llamar de nuevo y se lo recomendaría a mis amigos.

At £8.95 for two courses I really wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. At this price for such a good Sunday lunch it really isn't worth the effort cooking. Very pleasant and friendly staff too.

An average bar in an average location. Not busy in the week and caters to locals. The best bit is free pool on a Tuesday night and no one on the table. Not worth a visit if you are not in the area.
