Hoggies in Rotherham

First time yesterday called for pork sandwich well what can I say it was beautiful will defo be back. Staff was very friendly and polite

Would be a 5/5 but the portion sizes are really poor. The "loaded" pork sandwich which boasts extra meat is on a very small bread bun, with only a couple of thin slices of pork. Such a shame as it taste good but just not worth the money for a tiny sandwich, won't be visiting again unfortunately.

Wow, wow, wow.. what a gem of a place to stumble across. Fantasticly friendly staff. I had a pork , stuffing, crackling, roast potatoe and gravy sandwich. There was a lot of love in that sandwich. Very tasty, so tasty in fact I went straight back in for a gammon sandwich. Hard to choose between the two. Thanks ever so much I probably won't need to eat for a week now. A PLACE YOU MUST AND I MEAN YOU MUST VISIT. Thank you.

Just ordered 52. Pound odd from work most of staff and I ordered. Cheese salad sandwich b 3.30 very small bread cake all lettuce and cucumber very little cheese or onion not happy very disappointing and annoyed just rang no answer will ring back

Phoned an order and when I picked it up it was the wrong order, I went back and the person who served me was extremely rude and kept insisting I took the wrong order, I took what she gave me!!! I was then overcharged by £17.00 which was later refunded when I had time to go back to the shop 2 days later, the food when we did get the right order was cold. Usually the food and service is good but not this time. I have never been spoken to by anyone so rude in any shop before!!! Rest of staff were nice though.

Ordered from Hoggies yesterday. Had a very rude experience with a lady behind the desk. They charged us £40 for £22 worth of food. They handed us the wrong order to begin with, then we had to travel back to the shop to collect our correct order. The food was cold by the time we go back to eat it. Bad customer service, usually ordered from here often but no longer.

Had for the first time today and loved it! So filling, do not be deceived! I got the loaded pork sarnie with the roasties on it, 😋. The belly pork is a must try, pretty amazing actually. Would have given 5 stars but they missed the apple sauce from a colleagues meal, she was devastated... another colleague ordered beef and onion with gravy and the onion was raw, he wasn't a fan and thought it should have been cooked. I'll definitely order again 🙂

We ordered a team lunch of hot roast sandwiches and Yorkshire pudding wraps. Wow 🤩!!! Everything was ready for collection and still lovely and hot when we got back to the office. The whole team loved it and the roast potatoes are to die for! 🐷🐽🐷😍

Definitely the worst pork sandwich I’ve ever had paid £4.60 to see someone cut the cheapest bread cake then put pork into it straight out of a bowl of water not nice at all won’t be visiting that place in a hurry again wish I’d taken a picture of it now but the wet pork had disintegrated the bread cake

I should've realised when the shop didn't have a queue at midday. Looks a nice place but the food is atrocious. Hot roast pork my backside, boiled to death pork is what it is. Over-priced, less than average service and terrible food, avoid! The owner really needs to look at the one star reviews and take notice

What an absolutely amazing little place, sandwiches and so much more, we had the hot roast pork with all the trimmings, without a doubt the best I've had in a long while

Really don't understand any negative reviews! Suppose it's each to their own... This place was bang on... was so good that after I'd eaten my first sarnie I went in and got another (I was promised that the bacon was super lean so was essentially a salad sarnie). Place was spotless and SUPER friendly staff, can't go wrong in my opinion.

Delicious Sunday Roast - will definitely be ordering again!

Just been in for me and my partner a pork sandwich one of the best we've ever had. Couldn't eat it all there was that much on it

Called at hoggies this morning for a large and small roast pork was informed they don't do large anymore used to pay £7 got 2 small £8.30 nothing on them will not be calling again

The Best roast pork sandwiches. The only thing that would be better is more bread options.

When hoggies first opened the food was good quality, but now sausages are skinny dry chipolatas, soggy bacon and wont/cant make it crispy, over cooked old tasting beans 5 minutes after opening and the hash browns were undercooked soggy and tasted of oil (possibly put in a fryer not up to temp) the fried egg was fine though. Tomatoes and mushrooms were tomatoes and mushrooms. Service was friendly and relatively quick.

Hoggies…….more like soggies! Yorkshire pudding wrap not folded like a wrap, drowning in gravy so everything soggy and impossible to eat. Meat that chewy it hurt my teeth. Roast taties that mushed up I could turn the box they came in upside down and nothing came out. Waste of money!

Cracking service and great food. Took 20 minutes waiting for roast potatoes. The kind staff gave me a hot drink while I was waiting

Just finished a large hot pork sarnie here on my latest Hoggies adventure. The bread buns are so super fresh and there’s tons of pork inside. So nice to go into such a clean and tidy place that serves top notch snap at a good price. Ps….would have attached a picture but it was that tasty, the sandwich did last long enough to have its picture taken.

First class pull in with quick excellent food served with a smile The place is clean and tidy and staff are always helpful Would recommend highly for quick breakfast/lunch

Very over rated more bread than meat on the roast pork sandwich for the price it's terrible taste is nothing special probly better of with a tesco pork and stuffing

Possibly the best pork sandwich I've ever had, it's flavoursome, enjoyable and the potatoes are beautiful. I can't recommend this place enough, if you love pork sandwiches with stuffing, gravy and a side of potatoes, this is the place for lunch.

Everything is fab with one exception. My sarnie was very light on the scratchings. Other than that it was outstanding. That's why only 4 stars.

Would not recommend this at all especially if pregnant, pork was not cooked through properly made me instantly sick as soon as I eat it I threw it straight up, and it smelt like wet dog. BIG NO NO!!!!

The Yorkshire Wrap was a good portion size and value for money - the hot meat balmcakes were not. Will be seeking other establishments before revisiting

Have passed Hoggies on a daily basis and thought of trying a few times as the shop looks really nice. Unfortunately the quality of the food does not match the shop. I ordered several pork sandwiches. The pork was dry and tasteless and the bread was stale, like it had been kept warm for days, not what I expected. When I got back in the car I also noticed that I had been short changed.... Save your money and buy from elsewhere.

The wifes just been in for two sarnis .. mines always the same regardless of were i go bacon well done eggs busted .. well egg is busted but bacon ive thrown away .well done .i think they think showing it the frying pan counts ..poor very poor

Absolutely delicious, first time at hoggies today and my favourite thing has got to be the roast potatoes dipped in their meat gravy! Will definitely be back!

Excellent little food place, makes a really nice pork and stuffing sandwich. As well as other meats and they've just started delivering Sunday dinners.

Very clean inside but unfortunately very stale bread and very poor quality ham, would be much better avoiding.

So being called hoggies it set mine and husbands expectations quite high. We were hoping for a proper pork sandwich of fresh pulled pork. No it’s not it’s very very thinly sliced pork what resembles lunchen meat , and it’s covered in gravy so there’s no option but to have gravy, very disappointing , no crackilng either, so me not liking gravy I opted for a salad box and for more or less £4 I got nothing few pieces of lettuce three pieces of cucumber a bit of onion and Tom and ham , just not what we expected all round

Had bacon and egg buttie and really nice and loads of bacon. Good value for money.

Called today first time staff uniforms dirty got two bacon sausage and egg sandwiches they put two eggs in frying pan on grill took bacon and sausage partly cooked out of holding tins put on grill in the time it took to cook the egg they then made the sandwichs bacon and sausage were both cold and under cooked got my money back but would not go there again

Called in after a recommendation this lunch time. I ordered a hot Yorkshire pudding wrap and a side of roast potatoes. Overall the wrap was ok. You got a lot in the wrap which was filling and plenty of roasties in a side. The wrap was oozing with grease and the grease was like a brown in colour. The wrap was quite salty too. This did put me off and ruined the overall enjoyment for me. The roasties unfortunately we’re in edible for me as they had so much pepper on them. I don’t put salt or pepper on my own food as it’s not the taste I like. The staff were friendly although one of the staff dipped their fingers in the roasties, took one out and proceeded to eat it. Granted she had gloves on, but then she had put that roasties in to her mouth and not changed the gloves. This is not what you expect to see when serving food and in front of customers. I have worked in restaurant chains, and although I’m not the food standards agency, I know you do not do this.

Yorkshire pudding wrap with beef was great though the roast potatoes had been overly salted which was a shame as they tasted great aside from that. We ordered 9 peoples worth of food but unfortunately one item on the order was wrong though a lady from Hoggies went out of her way to sort it for us. Will definitely be coming back again.

Happened to be driving past and was in need of a snack. The wife claimed to have been here before and was raving how good it was. Must admit I wasn't overly impressed my first choice was for a roast pork and cheese baguette until I realised it was coming from a preheated counter, was only half a baguette and cost £2. I opted for a roast beef and stuffing sandwich which I watched being prepared, they certainly don't skimp on the meat as a generous helping was placed on a bread bun, can not say the same for the stuffing though as this appeared to be spread thin on one side. As far as taste goes it wasn't bad but it also wasn't the best which is a dissapointment coming from an outlet which specialises in hot roast sandwhiches. I also ordered a cappuccino and I'm glad we were sat in the car park as this had to go back as it tasted like there was no coffee in it. Whilst the staff appeared helpful and friendly there appeared to be a lack of experience or organisation. Overall quite disappointing.

Drove past, noticed it was v.quiet, so decided to go in to grab a bacon sandwich, this was before 11am, was told they’d be with us shortly (busy doing roast pork sandwiches, but no customer present) then asked what we would like, politely said x2 large bacon sandwiches, though because we’d waited it was NOW past 11am and were told breakfast items, were no longer being made. So Hoggies: 1. ask the customer what they’ve come in for, before making them wait to then tell them No breakfast 2. pretty sure a customer in the shop comes before a telephone order. 3. use a watch/clock effectively

Best place to get a sandwich or yourkshire pud wrap all food its absolute beaut and the pork is to die for dont no why so many low reviews i visit regular and every time its been 5* and resonable price unlike sime cafes in the area It is a busy place wich shows how good hoggies is dont be put off by previous low rateings try for yourself you will see im guessin bad revies are from rival cafs ect in the area

I had a Yorkshire pudding wrap and my partner had a roast pork sandwich and it was amazing!! The meat was perfect well cooked and no fat and the vegetable in the wrap were tender without being soggy, honestly cant rate this place highly enough! My only very very minor gripe was the staff were a bit slow but nothing to raise the blood pressure! :)

I write this as I’m chewing my last mouthful of a beautiful sandwich (and considering going back in for another!) The hot roast pork sandwich with stuffing, apple sauce, gravy and crackling was cooked well and on a nice fresh large bread cake. They’ve got an interesting menu, if you like pork, beef, roast dinners, bacon, sausage, Yorkshire puddings and basically all the good stuff, you love it here.I’ll be back again for sure.

Stopped off for a hot roast pork sandwich only to be very disappointed with the lack of filling and the pork is not carved fresh is soaking in fat.The sandwich was terrible and that I am afraid is probably an understatement there was not much pork and what bit there was covered in grease and fat.What a shame there is a massive market in the Dearne Valley for a good hot sandwich at lunch time.There are 100s of people working inn the local call centres all wanting a decent sandwich.What a disapoinment for a new venture.

Great food, a bit slow if I was in a rush but worth the wait if not.

Been a few times as I work locally can't fault the food and great value for money I've tried most things on the menu. There is always a queue around dinner time so ring to place an order or you will have to wait a while to have your order taken.

I stopped off here after a long journey on the M1. Not much of a detour from the M1 and well worth it. My two hungry boys declared the sausages to be the best they'd had in years - and I have to agree. Deliciously fresh and excellent service. I only wish we were local - this would be a regular. Highly recommend to break up a long journey on the M1!!

just had boxed breakfast from hoggies £5.50, fairly fast servive (8.15am) nice food, well presented, 2bh people would rather prob pay £4.99 & not have the 'hoggies' logo'd bean & tom pots in a bag sealed with a logo sticker as its just binned anyway, but food was filling & good quality EXCEPT for the tinned mushrooms as these rubber grommets from hell should be illegal everywer. would go again tho

Went here Friday with work and chose to have a BEST however was told that they don't do these sandwiches after a certain time which I couldn't believe as most sandwich shops do them all day. I settled for a burger which the burger was nice and the bacon but the rest of it was not my cup of tea. The salad was awful. Would love to have been able to try the breakfast sandwiches and may do this in the future as I have heard good things however wouldn't order another burger again.

I’ve been here a few time when it first opened the Yorkshire pudding wraps are very filling and I love them! I just have a few issues they aren’t enough gravy on them so I buy another pot and the service is very slow I would recommend pre-ordering! They just never have HAM when I go in! I work in a call centre so timed on my breaks! Also my partner has the hot pork sandwhich with everything on! He loves them aswell! Overall I think hoggies is beaut would recommend it to a friend easily!

Hoggies what a joke, waited 10 minutes before anyone took our order, watched as the staff went into an unorganised fluster of mayhem reaching over each other as the Pig King watched over as the shop filled up with customers, to then start filling our trays half way then break the shattering news that there’s no sausages, as the Pig King had been at loggerheads with the Hog Duke of Rotherham over a disagreement about the Hog families attendance to the Dearly missed Lord of the Toy Town Pork Roasting Revellers Barry Chuckles funeral.

Zero stars thats right 0 stars if I could give a minus I would. No organization, Staff out of there depth. No communication with customers. Waited to get served which is understandsble but then Waited 15 mins for bacon only to then be told they had no sausage. It wasn't even busy. Overall my 35 mins in the cafe to eventually walk out without even having anything to eat, not a good experiance. Avoid like the plague

A few of us from work decided to order from here and collect on the day if opening. That was a big mistake. We all ordered large roast pork sandwiches but unfortunately we only got 1 large and the others were small. The sandwiches were very poor and not what we would expect for the price. We've not visited since.

Just been for our first visit...still finishing the Yorkshire pudding pork warp....we bought 4 standard pork sandwiches with all variations to the extras, lovely service. Steve and Kev are quite fussy when it comes to roast pork sandwiches, Kev has said its the best sandwich he's ever had. Not big fatty chunks. All tasted gorgeous, we'll be back soon from Broomheads Sheds

Stopped off for a sandwich at this new place but the breadcake as stale and the meat dry, and there wasn't much off it either, not good value at £3.20.Their speciality looks to be breakfasts so I hope they are better or I can't see this place staying open for much longer.

Dont bother with a pork sandwich as its more like a stuffing sandwich with a bit of pork on plus breadcake was dry asked for a large and half the breadcake was empty so may aswell have had a small

Food nice though, had no chicken for a chicken sandwich and have to spend over £5 to use a card.
