Hitchin best kebab in North Hertfordshire

Appalling. Okay until manager gets involved if you query anything. Rude arrogant and unappologetic. Going elsewhere now with nice staff in Redhill Road. Much better there.

Found hair in my food, was removed bt manger then denied and then told it was mine, asked to review their cctv to show no hair protection was worn by the server!! A refund would have sorted it but that was refused, dirty and poor customer service, be carful

good evening i am wanting to send a message about a order we have just had from you i spent 122.92 today on a order for our family and i can say the order was not nice the nuggets were like cardboard no one ate them and i ordered by mistake chicken donor meat and chips then t called to change it to lamb donar meat and chips but still got the chicken meat and chips the milkshake was just like milk the choclate was in a lump at the bottom the chicken burger was burnt This was June 10th I had the order

Food is okay and phone customer service was good until you speak to the manager because there was an issue with your order. About as rude as it gets and when you inform them of a mistake the manager response was ‘your opinion is irrelevant’. (wow) Word of Advice: don’t buy their ‘large’ portions, it’s the same size as their normal portions.

Portion sizes pathetic - paid for 2 large kebabs and both had only 3 tiny pieces of meat in them. Chips also very stingy. Disappointed and feel that the value for money is awful.

Positive - presentation, salad, sauces packaged separately. Negatives - small portion sizes (XL was definitely a medium), quality of meat was poor, food arrived lukewarm. There are plenty of other kebab shops around the area that are certainly better than 'Hitchin best kebab'. I'm from north London and know what a quality kebab looks and tastes like. Avoid this establishment.

My daughter ordered at 5.50pm for 8pm delivery, as I was travelling back from Buckinghamshire after sorting out my late mother's funeral so was in no mood to cook. By 8.15pm it had not arrived but on the just eat app it was notifying my daughter it had been delivered so she phoned to be told that it was currently being made as they were wait for drivers to return to collect before making also it was busy and hitchin was flooded.....well I drove through there 20 min before and encountered no floods, well it finally arrived after 8.30 , I had ordered a vegetable kebab ny daughter a donner and they hadn't even cut the pittas and filled them the filling was chucked on top ( I have used them before so know the filling is usually inside) so resulting in a soggy pitta that wouldn't hold the filling...the idea of a takeaway very often is to save on washing up , well this is the 1st time I have eaten a kebab on a plate with a knife and fork. Very disappointed and also with how the manager spoke to my daughter.

Never had any issues with them, great kebabs and surprisingly good sf chicken. Delivery or takeaway, cash or card, all good.

Freezing cold and extremely salty doner meat and small portion. Handful of chips for £1.60 that were hard and also cold. Chicken was dry but yet very greasy at the same time?? First time ordering and never will again! Definitely not best kebab more like worst kebab. Avoid;

Have been using hitchin best kebab for a long time and giving them the benefit of the doubt as their food is is very tasty, but after several times it being delivered cold the straw is broken I think I am done if I am going to use the microwave I may as well save myself a bit of money ‍♂️

First of all I would like to say thank you to all takeaway business who are working hard through this pandemic. Also I'd like to thank HKB and dedicated staff for a speedy cook and delivery of my food. I ordered fries, chicken wings and chicken breast, the chicken was so tender and the fries were still hot when I received my takeaway meal, keep it up guy's

This place used to be the best kebab place in Hitchin, but unfortunately, since it changed management it has massively gone down hill. Whilst the apparent manager comes across with what seems to be a professional customer focused tone it does nothing to overcome the fact that he cannot accept being in the wrong when his staff have made a mistake (on multiple occasions I may add) even when he speaks to them directly and they confirm they have made a mistake in front of me. He has the audacity to make out that I'm some sort of problem customer because I have raised issues in the past with their sub par service and mistakes. It is a genuine shame really as I think the potential is there but a few sloppy mistakes and inability to take responsibility for them is damaging to their reputation and credibility as a kebab house. All the best but I won't be returning anytime soon and will advise others to stay clear.

Food was hot but I was not that impressed with the flavour but there was plenty of it they do not scrimp on the portion size.

I ordered on uber eats and there was hardly any lamb. I called to complain and they cited "lean meat" as an excuse. Totally unacceptable. The man on the phone was extremely rude. Will never use again and do not recommend. This is an unacceptable "large"

Great food as per usual, other than the wrong salad in my burger and a very rude delivery driver who just grunted at us on arrival... Milkshakes were half spilt in bag on transit , which we were not aware of until the bag ripped once inside and our drinks went all over the floor... abit disappointed ...

Normally a great place to eat from but on this occasion (when there was no manager about). I made 2 complaints (out of several). Where pizza was damaged before transit. And I did not receive 1 of my 3 drinks. Pizza was replaced and was given to me hand to hand (against covid19 precautions). And still did not receive my drink. I phoned up again to complain about my drink again and they refused to send it as I was "lying about my drink" apparently. He said he packed it personally and I was not aloud to speak to a manager. After this I sent an email to the manager/customer support. Where he then called me a liar as he packed the drinks himself (no manager on duty) the email stated it was from the manager of HBK . It said they don't want customers like me and am no longer welcome to order from here. I have complained in total 3 times out of 50+ orders and am generally happy with them most times. But due to being called a liar I am thinking this is a very bad place to eat from now. The driver could of dropped it in his vehicle or even stolen it (doubt this he was a friendly person) or even given my drinks to someone else or in shop put my drink in another bag but HBK refused to take any responsibility, And will call you a liar

Went into the so called best kebab in hitchin? Asked for doner wait 10 mins for it the salad was poor not fresh and after waiting 10 mins you would think the meat would be hot but No !!! Stone cold got to be the worst kebab ever! If this is meant to be hitchin best I would dread to think what the others are? They couldn't even get the order right ?

I love the pizzas. Order from here all the time so would expect a better response then what I did tonight. I ordered a free 4 choice pizza £10.99 with herb crust (extra £2).. my toppings didn't go through their side so instead of ringing me and asking me the toppings, they sent me a plain cheese pizza which is £8.99. Rung them to tell them and I got spoken to rudely and was told he will not replace the pizza as it was my fault i didnt write toppings, which I did (why wouldn't i write my toppings when I'm paying for a free 4 choice pizza) Offered me half price next time.. but I already paid to much money for this order!!! No refund offered. Dont pay with card online as you never know if your going to get your order right.

Probably the best in Hitchin. I have tried 2 other places locally but you can't beat their taste.

The food here is top quality, I often stop here for my evening munch, sometimes stop off for my customers too, a very friendly service as usual.

The service is so poor from this place, they will tell you that your order will be 30 minutes then an hour later you'll be chasing them for your order. Best to avoid and use somewhere that's got their act together!

Great food,grate service and fast dilivery. I ordered fried chiken and it tasted banging good i would also say that this could be the best chiken that i ever had and the dilivery time was very fast.

The little one loved the lasagne and her chips staff friendly and quite a nice little place serves kebabs pizza burgers and milkshakes price was OK to not a long wait also

Just finished our meal, and it is amazing. The pizzas beat dominos, papa johns, and Pizza Hut easily, and is so much cheeper. The kids loved there pizzas, the lasagne and burger were amazing. Service, food so much better then the old HBK. Amazing food, definitely the best

Food was actually really good but I ate it in anger due to the delivering guy being incredibly rude. He Phoned me from outside for some reason repeating ‘you put the wrong postcode’ I said, ok, sorry!? Why ring me from outside to say that? To make a point? Seconds later he’s at the door saying ‘you put the wrong post code, now your food is cold, it’s your fault’ Like I said, food was good, shame they’ve been absolutely let down by this fool.

I placed a collection for my order and it was made on the exact time that was said and the food was excellent and delicious

Absolutely awful. Ordered a large dinner kebab, ended up with a small one. All the burgers are advertised as all served with fresh salad and a choice of sauce so i chose mayo. What did i get, a dried up piece of chicken with a bit of mayo between a dried up bap. Called to complain got nowhere. NEVER AGAIN

I have been coming here for 4years now under previous ownership and everyone I ordered they have been great.Unfortunately on my last visit tonight I fancied a kebab a I asked for my usual which is lamb kofte and chicken doner combo and to find there was 4 small grains of chicken doner hidden under the salad.Don’t get me wrong the lamb was all there but they seem to have tightened their Belt with the doner meat and what also saddens me is they charged me £8 for this.Never again!

Really poor Ordered lamb shish, Chicken doner, Chips and sweet potato fries. Waited 30 mins, the order was wrong Lamb Doner not Shish ? and the whole order was cold and looked like it had been thrown together. Phoned and was told they would send the lamb shish in 20min as they were busy... replacement arrived 50 minutes later following two calls I had to make to chase. Wouldn't recommend their delivery service.

Lovely kebab fresh salad and the chill sauce is nice also the shish kofta is cooked over live coals amazing mmmmmm.........
