Hilltop Garden Centre in Rugby

Been coming here since i was little, it’s a Gem, full to bursting with wonderful things for inside and outside the home. Christmas time is always lovely. I’ve got some of my most prized Christmas decorations from here.

Friendly and helpful staff, good quality plants , statues, and garden furniture, and the cafe is not bad either, bit on the expensive side, but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for,overall very happy

Garden centre is very nice and well stocked. Much better value than some. Cafe may be nice but you have to be there at the right time, woe betide you if you try to order food when the staff are on their break.

Had everything we wanted, and more. Competitive prices and friendly staff.

Hilltop is a lovely garden centre. Great selection of plants and landscaping materials. There is also a nice choice of "home" stuff inside. Water features to photo frames. The cafe is also good with excellent cakes! Definitely recommend.

Nice little garden centre with lots packed in. Reasonable prices and a nice coffee shop.

Interesting to walk around, but it is an expensive shop. For example, a 2.7m garden umbrella, of modest quality, is £30 more expensive than a 3m, better quality one I found online, which also has LED lights, and fee delivery. Prices seemed steep for almost everything I looked at.

Huge garden centre and has very reasonable prices. Has everything you could possibly need for your garden, well worth a visit!

Lovely items for sale, some lot cheaper than expected and some a lot more than expected. Pricing wasn't always clear. Some had no pricing others had 2 differing prices.

Very nice garden centre. Big car park, easy access and playground for kids. Price is above average but you can buy almost everything what do you need for your garden,

Very well stocked with plug plants. Lovely cafe. It's the change of the seasons so some of the area's were being filled as expected. A wonderful selection of all types of plants. It beats some of the larger garden centres by miles. Spring is coming, so are the plug plants. Lovely selection of hanging baskets.

I visited today 11.02.24 to buy a plant for my mums 60th birthday. I hadn't a clue about plants so it was hard for me to make the right choice. I was served by a fantastic and very knowledgeable member of staff named Grant. He took his time with me choosing the correct plant and explained everything that I needed to know. I was only intending to spend around £50, after speaking to Grant I spent £65 but the choice we made together looked absolutely stunning. I'm sure my mum will be overjoyed when she sees my purchase! Well stocked, friendly cafe with good selection of food and drink

Loads of plants, cheap pots aswell which is a bonus as well as cheap seeds which since wilkos demise is a rarity. Toilets are always clean. the only thing is that during Christmas time (starting In about September), the indoors area is mostly Christmas items lasting through to mid January. There is a cafe but we have not visited it.

Lots to see. On the expensive side but that's garden centres . Car park very busy (always busy as the cafe is frequented by a lot of the more mature people in the locale, ) always make a visit at Christmas as they have a lite of Christmassy stuff to buy.

Price of food in cafe little pricey, Hence Breakfast batch/ roll 2 items cost £4.50,, then after breakfast finished they call it a Brunch batch/ roll 2 item's cost £5.99,, both same ,,Don't know if mistake or profit making ....

Took our small dog to hilltop garden centre like many more people and ask where the dog area was in the cafe and got told to sit in the field we thought it was disgusting and every one who was there with dogs thought the same ,9 out of 10 people have dogs now and would like to go round garden centre with them and stop for coffee hilltop is the only garden centre where thay don't want or let dogs in there cafes disgusting will not be returning

Nice & welcoming place with good collection of indoor, outdoor plants, Christmas lights and water fountains.

So when you arrive, you go to the cafe to order the food. Now before you order, stand back and wait for a few mins. Watch the staff clear the tables, empty the unfinished food into a bin, some use their fingers to assist the stuck food! Next, watch those same people unload the dishwasher and put the clean plates and cutlery away. Then those same people with their dirty fingers who have handled your clean cutlery, start to serve the food to your table!! Not once did I witness anyone wash their hands, not even using some handy hand gel!! If any of the staff on the Saturday I visited have a Basic food hygiene certificate, I’d be amazed! Go on, stand back and watch the display of bad food hygiene at your leisure! But eat at your peril. I witnessed all this after my son had eaten his fish and chips, I had a drink and a rather tough and chewy custard slice. Ps The chips tasted cheap and horrible. We won’t be going back again….EVER.

Went for coffee,as always clean pleasant surroundings. Staff polite. They are ready for Christmas. Seems like a good selection of Christmas things.

Made 40 milles to go there after work, got there half hour before closing time after 15min the staff start to turn the lights out, so we couldn't even see properly what we went there to buy. End up spenting 12£ when what we want is around 90 to 100£. I think it's extremely disrespectfull when a customer is looking into something and the lights are turned off. And then they complaint they don't sell... thumbs down to the staff or to the managment if that's the company policy 👎👎👎

It's worth a visit it's expensive, the food is OK nothing special the ingredients to my family seem to be basic ,we went on sat and the front glass on the cakes was all steamed up it didn't look nice ,staff on the counter were nice and pleasant, ps notice some plants that needed looking at .

Hair in panini. Staff didn’t apologise. When we got a new panini it was tasteless and the hot chocolate was warm water.

What a fabulous place. We have been to many garden centres lately but this probably takes the prize. Incredible Christmas displays. And a vast array of gardening paraphernalia, plants and shrubs. The food was fabulous in the café. Loos clean. Plenty of parking. Don't miss it.

Getting ready to celebrate the birth of our Lord & saviour Jesus Christ?? Then visit this place to get all the Christmas decorative stuff you need. I liked the decorative stuff with the lights. They are very colorful, it makes your home a place of celebration. Christmas is all about the receiving the joy &hope what God has given to us through Jesus and His unconditional love. Shop here and rejoice in Gods love.

How can anyone charge £4.50 for a peice of average slice of cake, absolutely a rip off, a beautiful garden centre especially in the summer, but the cafe is very expensive, be warned

Hilltop garden centre makes a great day out. They have a variety of indoor/outdoor plants and an outside play area (and picnic area in the summer months). They serve delicious food in their cafe and very yummy cakes (not good for the waistline). They also have very decent loos. It is wheelchair friendly but some spaces may be a little tight to get through. Christmas is coming......

Amazing garden centre, one, if not The best, I've ever been to. Extremely well maintained and laid out with Fantastic picnic area. A great variety of plants and trees all well looked after. A really good shop with great merchandise and a nice cafe. I can Highly recommend. Fantastic Christmas Display now, well worth a look.

went there for an all day breakfast today. Absolutely disgusting we couldn’t eat it. What a waste of money so expensive. Plus they don’t do toast even though there’s two toasters on the shelf over £30 for two all day breakfast some bread and butter and a tea and coffee come on hilltop sort your prices and your quality out in the café. The shop is beautiful and lovely. It’s a shame the café lets it down

Hilltop Garden Centre is a plant lover's haven. They've got a fantastic variety and wide range of plants both indoor and outdoor. Not only the plants they do have more decor items. The place is like a colorful garden dream, with competitive prices. Still, it's a great spot for plant enthusiasts.

Always spend more than really should . Such high quantity goods and the plants are well looked after. Highly recommend to any . Go see for yourselfs

I recently purchased an outdoor furniture set from Hilltop. Unfortunately on delivery it was slightly damaged. These things happen. The customer service I received from Kevin was absolutely fantastic, he could not have done more to resolve the problem, and resolved it so quickly. Don’t think I’ve ever had such good service. And the furniture set is fabulous, really good quality. I highly recommend Hilltop Garden Centre. It’s a great place to visit, lots of choice, good quality stuff, not over priced for what you get. And the café is good too. Excellent.

This garden center has all kind of flowers plant and has large play area for kids plus nice cafe too. Most importantly staff are friendly too. Very good garden center

Met a friend for a catch up and arranged to meet in the cafe/ restaurant. All went well until at 3.30pm an assistant came to our table and said "actually we are now closed' very brusque and matter of fact. We were very surprised and disappointed as the menu card says closed at 4pm and I had previously checked.

Same items on the breakfast menu are same as lunch - but the lunch menu is £1.50 more expensive. When I questioned them they said it is what it is. Also the menu says main meals come with chips but actually they don’t. They don’t care at all about the customer experience, only money.

We went to hilltop nursery on Tuesday spending £450 in total. We bought a garden bench and arranged to have it delivered. this cost us an additional £20. When the bench arrived it was a flat pack! I rang up the garden centre and explained to them that we were both disabled and were not able to make the bench up ourselves. The person I spoke to on the phone was really quite rude and basically said that was our problem as we shouldn't have assumed that it was made up. I have telephoned a different garden centre regarding their policy on flat pack garden furniture and they agreed that the seller should inform the buyer that it will arrive in a flat pack condition. The owner of hilltop nursery appeared to have no empathy with our situation. On principal I asked for a refund and all the sales assistant could say was leave it out on the lawn and we'll collect it. No apology, nothing. I think the owner of this garden centre needs to take himself and the staff involved on a customer service course because they were sadly lacking when it came to providing good customer care.

Had a good look at their vast array of plants and gifts. Bought a few items that were very good price. Food was excellent and good portions. Great to look over plants as you eat. Very friendly place. Menu is excellent both variety and price. Made to feel welcome.

Spent over £1200 at the centre. Staff were not helpful and argumentative. Delivery did not follow instructions provided and one item was delivered damaged. I will not be purchasing my garden furniture from this store as originally suggested. I will take my business elsewhere. Customer service is important and this establishment fails in this area.

We bought some garden furniture which one was damaged they did not want to take it back as it was the last one they said is sold as seen thats ok if your told that and its on your receipt which it wasn't we definitely won't be going back there again.

Sooo rude!!! The website states dog friendly, no dogs in the cafe but outside seating for dog owners provided. Drove out to visit the centre and get a coffee, asked where the outdoor sitting for dog owners was (despite the hammering rain) to be told extremely rudely by the female server that ‘we don’t allow dogs’ and then walked off without any offer of further assistance. Abruptly left without spending any of our money in the cafe or shop and certainly won’t be back!

We had a meeting there last month. 5 of us went to visit the cafeteria. It was such a delight. We had a issue with one of our team whom was really unsteady on her feet A young lady named Emma came to her rescue. Sue had split her late and Emma went and replaced ed for her She went above and beyond to help us. She was a very pleasant young lady and turned a uncomfortable situation in to a pleasant one Thank you Emma we hope your on duty next time we visit so we can thank you in person

We visited the garden centre as we have done for years,it was very pleasent as always until we went for bite to eat'We were unaware the cafe closed early in the winter months which is fair enough.What we did not like was this ignorant young lady wearing glasses who seemed to think she owned the place telling us we had 17 minutes to eat our food. She needs to grow up as if it was not for the customers she would not have a JOB.

We were at a loose end with an hour to kill and this place was conveniently located near to where we needed to be next. What a little find. We had a lovely walk around before making use of the cafe. If we are in the area again it is good to know this place is here.

I quite often visit Hill Top Garden Centre with friends and grandson and am very impressed with the plants and shrubs etc., on offer throughout the year. Today friends and I visited the Garden Centre again and after enjoying looking at the plants, etc., we browsed around the Christmas displays. As usual at Christmas time, they had a fantastic display of Christmas musical/movement items, ornaments, trees, lights, room decorations, gifts, goodies, etc., and the Father Christmas band playing their instruments. We then visited the cafe and enjoyed our brunch roll and a cup of tea. (What a surprise to be advised that our pot of tea for 4 was only £4.00 This meant that our brunch and tea cost a total of £6.00 each - bargain!) As usual, the staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. I asked if I could have fresh milk rather than cartons and they were pleased to oblige. I will be visiting Hill Top again within the next few weeks with my grandson as he loves to see the Christmas displays there each year. In the summer he likes to play in the bus, the train and on the playground equipment. Thank you Hill Top for another pleasant experience at your Garden Centre. See you soon!

It's okay a wide range of plants but they are not very well looked after, have alot of weeds in pots and dying plants also in many areas, such a shame too, great cafe and tiny little play park for children, a little overpriced for items buts it's not bad for a small trip out

Went early to avoid the crowds. Was able to buy some compodt and barrel flower pots. Recommend

Went for a small snack was told could not serve lunch we had to wait 3 minutes yes 3 minutes. Then when the food arrived jacket potato which looked as if it had been warmed up 3/4 times and a pasties which was dry as a bone. When we asked to see the manager whoever the manager was would not come out but said it was fresh today THINK NOT. The garden centre is lovely and the staff there very helpful but the café lets them down. The staff in the café very unhelpful and stand around chatting instead of serving. WILL NEVER GO TO THE CAFE AGAIN.

The cafe is very expensive and serves small portioned, poor quality food. The coffee is tasteless and tea is served with UHT milk - yuk!

Lovely garden centre, plants are laid out in sections which is great for a novice gardener. They looked healthy and a good range and variety, a little expensive but what isn't these days! Low mark due to the cafe. The staff were friendly but the quality of the drink and food was poor, maybe a place to try for just cake and a soft drink. The coffee was weak and watery with little taste the bacon roll was something I'd expect to buy from a roadside food van. Greasy, cheap bread and fried. I'd definitely visit the garden centre again but not the cafe.

Went for lunch and I was quite disappointed with the fish, the coffee was also very poor. My wife enjoyed her food so maybe just an off day.

Real customer service! Products as described and look like they are good quality. Follow up call handled quickly and politely. Delivery men weren't very happy - maybe been chased for not dropping off the 'first drop please' at 2pm. Overall very happy though. Recommended.

Great garden centre loads of choice well worth a visit.

It was very busy and because of the layout it is very stressful trying to negotiate a trolley round the narrow pathways. Also there is nowhere to put your trolley if you want to get something from the cafe without blocking random narrow pathways.

Lovely garden centre any time of the year, there is always such a wide choice of plants. They always have a spectacular display of Christmas decorations, lights etc. Definitely recommend a visit 🙂

Mainly went to meet a friend and have a coffee, but the garden centre has lots of lovely flowers and reasonable prices too.
