Lovely food but just recently the food is being delivered warm not hot or even near hot even when putting a friendly note when ordering in the comments. Not sure if the extra comments are read?

The state of this burger is disgusting hardly any bread and a clump of cheese slapped on it…not what I asked for at all!! The chips I got are still frozen!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Food was OK, however I ordered doner meat and chips which was quite expensive anyway and as I wanted sauce separately, I even had to pay more! The box is came in was ridiculous and would not have filled a 5 year old child! Also not very friendly when you walk in, no acknowledgement or eye contact.

The food is great but my only concern is the fact that I asked for a kebab being the 2nd person in the line and being told its a half hour wait even though someone was chopping the kebab meat up. I feel this is a very negative thing as it would of took 3 mins to put some kebab meat on some chips so the service for a kebab is very poor service, never in my life have I been told to wait half hour for kebab.

Brilliant, a little pricey. But you get what you pay for, and it's the best cod around the whole area.

Fast food redefined... Despite ordering ahead, waited half a hour in an empty shop ! Won't be going back... Well, as we were driving past - thought we'd give them a second try, but JEEZ , same story, 23 minutes to get our food IN AN EMPTY SHOP 😔 If delivery pays better then why have a shop front ? Waiting customers should take priority 😠

Because we needed to eat earlier than usual, on this occasion, we visited and picked up our order ourselves. Usually we use the app, which we find very easy to use, and the time indicated for delivery is always on time.

Great fish and chips with crispy batter. (Many other items are available). Happy friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

Having to wait 20 mins for chips was unacceptable. Slightly annoying to hear the staff chatting to a waiting customer when they could have been serving me my food and taken the wait down to 18 mins. Food was good though. Portion a little small but very tasty.

Well people have said good reviews on here but I can honestly say it is just ok if you want a quick fish and chip meal. I have had alot better from other chippies. The fish was all batter hardly any fish and the chips was awful and wasn't that hot Not good people so not come here again!

Disappointed with our order last night 2 nd May ordered early in the afternoon to avoid mistakes happening but when our order arrived late no chips did email you had no reply normally no problem ☹️☹️☹️

We ordered on their website last night at 6:00pm when it opened and we had three kebab trays with special requests to just have doner on each. We also ordered two boxes of extra chips. The order was quickly processed and we did pay extra for processing order online as well as delivery (to be expected with the coronavirus pandemic). The order stated it would be delivered in 110 minutes. This was bang on, it was delivered in 109 minutes. The food was top quality, it hasn't affected the food at all. It was fresh, warm and well presented. I am very pleased with the order and I would consider ordering in the future as they are coping excellent with what's going on. Well done guys, keep up the hard work.

The prices are good but the friendly family that run the shop make us happy to return for their delicious fish and chips regularly! We've noticed that they now have an app to order online and get delivery... what more could we want!

One of our absolute favourite chippys but is your gravy made of gold? Everytime I ask for chips & gravy it's literally a drizzle the chips are so dry I might aswell of just asked for chips on their own😂..whack more gravy on!

Been here bare times thru the years and let me tell you lads. This sorta ting is a life saver after a long night of seshing. Not only that but takeaway tuesday with the boiis is also lit af with these banging dishes. Donner Kebab is always the priority here.

Best Chip Shop in the country. I travel the country on a boat and tried many different places on my travels and none match up to this family run business, they are 2nd to none and take great pride in their food and their hygiene. Well worth the visit and very reasonable on price. If I could give more stars I would. Great work guys keep up the good work.

I have surveyed six estebishments that serve fish & chips in the Eastwood/Giltbrook area and Hill-Top was not the best. It is the worst for queueing. the staff aren't overly-friendly, the price for your standard cod & chips is higher than some and the fish & chips do not taste as good as some of the other local establishments.If you don't mind queuing for 15 minutes on a Friday/Saturday evening in front of a load of old men who've been sent out by the Missus to 'get dinner in' then the Hill-Top chippery will do for you, but for me ? Naah. IMO there is indeed superior quality, friendlier & cheaper chippies local to the Eastwood area. Have fun doing the comparisons.. it's worth it.

We have been using this chip shop for nearly 10 years. The service and food is excellent!!!

Just visited Hilltop Fish Bar on a recommendation that the kebabs were the best and we wasn't disappointed. Both the donner and chicken meat is freshly cut off the skewer to order and not from them sweaty burko pots mostly used in other chippys. So tasty and this is now going to be our regular chip shop, well worth the drive from Bulwell.

Great chippy! Probably the best in the area? Friendly and accommodating staff who are always happy to help. I regularly place large orders for their £2.70 mini fish chips & peas here, for up to twenty people. Everyone who eats always says how nice the food is. Will certainly continue to go here!

Visited this chip shop this evening will never visit again, the food was just about acceptable but not great.

After fab reviews from friends we decided to try here. I thought it would be easier to phone our order through. The chap on the phone sounded helpful and repeated my order back to me once it was taken. All seemed ok. My partner went to collect the order and was surprised to find half of it missing. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to question the chap we spoke to who refused to admit he’d not written all of the order down. Luckily enough the nice lady sorted out the rest of our order and said she would deal with the chap later. Fair do’s right? Wrong!! My partner arrived home and started to hand out the food, only to find one of the kebabs that was ordered with No Salad indeed had salad on it . Fine after the teenager had a melt down and all salad was scrapped of the kebab just annoying that not only can half our order be missing when we go to collect but to have the order wrong as well just takes the absolute piss!

I am old enough to have eaten fish and chips in many places both here and abroad and have not been able to find better cod and chips anywhere. The quality is superb and even better is the consistency. Always the staff are really helpful and friendly. I doubt even coastal outlets can better this place. They have an immense range of food which says much for this small town. I commend the owners for there quality.

Family owned. Very pleasant people. Take-away only. Waiting area is nice and clean. Can be very busy at peak times. Parking can be difficult on the main road. Outside of peak times fish is cooked to order but well worth waiting for. Chips are good as any and better than most. Prices are reasonable and that coupled with food quality makes this an excellent chip shop, (the best actually). They do sell other foods but I can’t bring myself to order anything but fish and chips! Just wish it was closer to my home, sigh.
