Hill Murry Indian restaurant and takeaway in Rugby

Had a rare treat and got a delivery from Hillmurray last night. What amazing food, Literally cannot fault it. The flavours were outstanding and portions massive. Got the 2 persons meal deal. Poppadoms, dips, Any 2 starters, mains, 1 side, rice and naan all less than £30. What great value. Cannot recommend this place enough. Also delivered on time from a very friendly driver.

Very tasty food. The staff are friendly. Good atmosphere. Probably the best in Rugby.

Food was very bland , naan bread was soggy and the lamb was extremely chewy and fatty. I thought I would try somewhere different from my usual curry house where the lamb just melts in the mouth. Very disappointed I could not eat the meal.

Very nice food and good service. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The only thing not making it a perfect experience was the quite noisy atmosphere.

Since eating from here tonight I have been vomiting and myself and my partner have bad stomach ache. Looks like we will be off work for a few days now!! I definitely would not return!

Went in and ordered a takeaway. Had a drink while I waited, it had only just opened and was quite cold in there I'm sure it would soon warm up. Great food as always.

Shocking. First time ordering and won’t be again. Said 45 minutes wait time and 2 hours later we are still waiting for our food. Rang twice to ask for an update and been fobbed off both times.

So my partner and I went in New Year's Eve after we had placed our order with a waiter, then a table of 16 had finished coming in to be seated and a table of four behind us that was regulars as they knew the staff came in while we was eating our starters. both of these tables had got their drinks starters and mains before we even got our mains we waited 40 minutes for our mains to come to us afterwards finished our starters we had a chicken du piazza a special biryani with vegetable curry a sag alo and a pashuami Nam and else of all of those the biryani was the only thing that had full flavour and then the vegetable curry otherwise the other dishes were very Bland and tasteless. Staff never really came to us to see if our meals were okay only right near the end when we wanted to get the bill and leave by then we have given up on even attempting to try and speak to somebody about the issue let alone how long we had waited understandably it was busy it being New Years Eve but the lack of attention to new customers was appalling you could tell the customers that were regulars because the staff were constantly backwards and forwards to their tables making sure everything was okay where they left us alone and didn't want to know but the time we left I couldn't be bothered to speak to them over the issue as I wanted to get home and get the baby to bed. We thought we would give this restaurant a chance after having it as a delivery and had a couple of items missed we thought it moght be better in person but we was wrong, now we would not return in any form.

Great food and great portions! Very relaxing atmosphere for Boxing day evening, We will be back!

Enjoyed the food, service and music for an early evening meal. Good value for money and well presented and varied food - meat and mostly vegetarian.

The dinner was a surprise and very delicious.

Probably the worst Indian meal we've ever had. We were served days old condiments and stale poppadoms probably from the previous day. In my dish the ingredients stated there are almonds in it but it was sweetened with sugar no nuts at all. A child could have cooked it better.

Stale poppadoms, not a good start. Saffron rice with next to no saffron and uninteresting mains. Too many staff trying to serve making it overwhelming.

Served old stale poppadoms, which were replaced but the saffron rice was just pilau rice with a few strands not even saffron colour. Mains were tasteless. On the whole just very disappointing.

Decided to give this place a go, turned out to be an amazing decision! Amazing food delivered within the time suggested. Probably one of the best Indian meals I’ve had for a while!

Really disappointed, meat was tough and on the 'rare' side - lamb shouldn't be pink. And the sauces shouldn't be boring, sweet, 'in-a-jar-from'aldi' type. The hottest and mildest dishes all tasted the same around our party. Couldn't wait to leave.

We ordered again tonight. We have ordered here quite alot lately because their set meal is very good value for money and there food is usually very good. Unfortunately they were experiencing technical difficulties so they called and went out of their way to make amends, what was appreciated . Brilliant customer service. It was duly noted as good customer service nowadays is hard to come by. The delivery drivers are always polite and friendly The food was delicious, fresh and plenty of tender chicken in the curry. My other half likes it really hot and madras was perfect for the heat. It was tasty and not just spice without flavour. Some indian takeaway curries lack any sort of deph , but this curry is really good. First you get the lovely flavours and the firey kick that makes your nose run a little after bit. The naans were tasty and fresh. Their poppadoms are always fluffy and crispy we have started ordering extra because they are always the first thing to be eaten. We are looking forward to actually visiting the restaurant to eat in.

Shockingly bad Indian. Tough rotten meat and bland sauces. Didn’t matter what any of us ordered we got the same insipid out of a jar sauce. Avoid this place, it’s terrible

Average Indian dinner. Had the Lamb Chop starter which was good but then had a Dansak that was average. Dry Naan too. Staff kept offering us free drinks which made me uneasy. Anyways, average. Try Exotica in Hillmorton instead. I won't be back tbh.

We had a lovely meal here with family recently and the food and service was exceptional. There is a great choice on the menu & I liked the fact that there were plenty of fish dishes on the menu that a lot of other restaurants don’t offer

This time it was a family birthday, but like all the times we have visited the food was fabulous, good service and a well run family business. I truly have never seen anything different on any on of my visits! Keep doing what you do well!

We came to the Hill Murray restaurant on 4th June very much looking forward to a great curry! Unfortunately it became a disaster! We returned our starters as the chicken seemed undercooked. The chicken in our main meal was the same, slimy raw looking chicken, some bits pink with a strange texture which we also complained about. By now, we just wanted to leave but were asked to wait until the boss came to see us. He eventually came over with some of our plates & proceeded to squish the chicken bits in his fingers saying the chicken was 'juicy' & not raw! I was flabbergasted at his aggressiveness. He then demanded we pay for the drinks & we would be 'quits'. I was so shocked & stunned at this treatment, but paid up & left. What should've been an evening to celebrate my sister's birthday turned out leaving us disappointed & angry. We will never return to the Hill Murray restaurant!

A bit disappointing, it was busy, noisy and food only average. We thought the food a bit bland, lacking something! Maybe it was just a bad evening!

Booked for my granddaughters 21st on 4/4/2022. Absolutely wonderful, the staff couldn't do more for us. The food and service was fantastic. They gave my granddaughter a complimentary cocktail, and we were all offered a complimentary drink at the end of the meal. Can't rate it highly enough and will definitely go back. Thankyou to all the wonderful staff for a lovely evening.

Very disappointing service and poor communication for ordering takeaway. Placed an advance order on Just Eat only for Hill Murry to cancel yet when you called them they still offered delivery and collection. So I decided to order over the phone and collect only for them to miss a dish off the order. Reluctantly I then waited 10minutes for the other dish to be made making the rest cold having to be reheated at home. This took 15minutes. A very disappointing service which has made me reluctant to use again as this ruined the takeaway dishes. When I expressed my disappoint staff weren't really concerned just more focused on others and answering calls. Valentine's meal hassle. Thank you.

Food is actually quite nice but the delivery service is shocking, always something missing or takes hours to get here, these factors ruin the meal for me so I’ve started using a competitor.

Ordered Lamb Karahi and Lamb Naga through UberEats. The delivery was super quick and food was awesome. Thanks for reading my note to make the Naga extra hot with green chillies. Shocking service and rude on the telephone. On recommendation, we placed an order on Just Eat for a delivery from Hill Murray. We placed the order 2 hours in advance for a 19:30 delivery. At 20:00 I telephoned Hill Murray to find out where our order was as we thought we had done well to plan on advance with a house full of guests wanting different food.. the pizza, Chinese and Mexican were all delivered on time. The person who answered the phone was unapologetic and rude and told me that I’m one of 3 deliveries but apart from that, he had no clue as to when my meal would would arrive. Finally my meal arrived at 20:05. The quality of the food…….Luke warm to cold, tasteless, bland and a total disappointment. You learn from your mistakes. My mistake was using a hill Murray. Never again.

Waited over 90 minutes for a delivery I ordered shortly after they opened. Nobody answered the four calls I made chasing the order and you can't even leave a message. We have had two takeaway orders in the last couple of months and both were deivered over 2 hours late. When it arrives on time, the food is good, but delivering so late with no communication is very poor. On both occasions, the phones were just ringing out so no indication of what the cause was and no apology. We will not be ordering a takeaway fro here again.

I used Hill Murry for a takeaway for the first time and very pleased with the quality of food and service. Also when compared with others in Rugby the pricing was the best. I would certainly use again.

There was a large party in which the staff struggled to cope with, and this resulted in rushed service to everyone else. Curry not the best either

Great service & delivery. Good menu choices and can tailor dishes to suit. Best dishes for us to date; Special Appetisers. King prawn Tandoori & Mixed Shashlick are great. My personal fav are a few starters such a prawn puri, Saag paneer and platters are very tasty. Curry are fresh cooked & delicious. If I opt for ‘Asap’ I tend to specify a ‘before’ delivery time so you’ve some idea when your delivery will arrive.

Got a takeaway on New Year’s Eve, understandably this was late (albeit over 2 hours) but the food was brilliant. One of the naans was forgotten but got a refund so not the end of the world. Seemed to give us some free extras which was a nice unexpected touch! The set meal for 1 was great value. Definitely wouldn’t hesitate to order from here again.
