Staff helpful and pleasant. Restaurant comfortable and good surroundings. Facilities clean and presentable. The menu was clear and varied. The food itself was good although the steak a little tough. The meal was certainly overall of good quality but portions were on the small side.

The food is excellent !! I cannot rate it highly enough - Thank you Chefs !!! It is Very reasonably priced too, the service was excellent as well, A special mention to Manager Callum for looking after me so well during my stay at the hotel and assistant manager Matt and all their staff, A big shout out to the front of house team that i have met so far, Cameron, Christopher, Joe, Bronagh and Megan and others that i don't yet know the names but who have helped my stay to be very pleasant - They are great front of house staff, so are the kitchen staff and the house keeping staff too - All are Fantastic ! I will be making this a regular dining/accommodation (Great comfortable en-suite rooms too) stop from now on !

Stayed here after a day at the Safari Park. Lovely hotel room. Breakfast was great all round 10/10 Dinner was fantastic,starters were Chicken Tenders Cauliflower wings Fish cakes all starters 10/10 Main meal was sweet potato curry Chicken n mushroom pie 10/10 again Will be back for sure.

Garbage food and terrible service. For a facility this big, they struggled to seat us, struggled to prioritise guests, and we were forced to order their disgusting food through the app. We had suggested we did that in the first place, but management asked us not to. I definitely won't be going back.

The food was lovely, and our waiter was okay he smelt like he had just smoked 10 cigarettes.

We visited Highland Gate in the past few weeks and was greeted and served by Cameron who was just lovely. He was very pleasant, nothing too much bother and a pleasure to be served by him. Cameron recommended kebab to my husband which was lovely. Food and service great Thanks again, and we will return.

Great place to go to eat, staff really friendly and offer great customer service every time we go.. and they remember us..! Food excellent and drink prices really reasonable. Will be booking again soon.

Stopped here on our way home. Service was great. Food a bit pricey for portions but was yummy. £6 for a chicken starter (see photo). Kids loved the play but outside. Would recommend.

Staff were friendly and attentive, but the main meals were burnt, and it was hidden so we didn't notice straight away, the meat was turned over to hide the burnt side.

We've been here several times and enjoyed good food. Tonight we are staying too. Megan checked us in and went to great lengths to ensure I had a suitable room as I'm using crutches. She also served our meal. Megan is an incredibly personable young woman who makes our dining experience lovely. The food was great too. Thank you.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at The Highland Gate, to which we added the breakfast for £8.75. We will definitely be back. Kudos to Lewis (breakfast) , Bronagh, Callum and Luke for making our stay wonderful. They’ve been the highlight of our 87 day voyage!! Dinners were wonderful and after our first dinner we decided to dine at their homey restaurant for the remaining 2 nights. Great location for the Trossarchs.

The place is very nice, the welcome is fantastic with a top manager! We took the time to chat with Cameron who is a very nice young man!

Had dinner tonight 8th march 2024 and can honestly say through being part of the hospitality industry my partner and me had the most amazing time... Our server was Luke and his attention to detail was spot on. Gave us space but made sure to quality check making sure we were ok. Food was outstanding and will most definitely be back... Also a shout out to the manager as his first impression was everything and he made sure to engage in conversation with us. Just exactly what we needed... We stay five mins away and never took the time to enjoy it and now it will be our new date night place

We had a great time at the Highland Gate for dinner on Friday night. The food and service were 10/10 Luke and Megan were great and took time to answer all our questions,especially when they were busy. We will definitely be coming back!

I have mixed feelings and with valid reasons too. Stayed at their hotel over Christmas and our booking had breakfast included. We only choose to use this breakfast booking for the 25th and 26th of December, and must I say I was disappointed of what was served for breakfast on Christmas! I initially thought that this is what they usually serve, only to go back on 26th and figure out that is not. Considering all places are closed for Christmas, I was expecting breakfast a little bit more, but instead we got served the bare minimum. Staff very agitated and not at all friendly on Christmas morning too, so disappointed with the service. 26th was a whole new experience and was what I would normally expect from a breakfast.

Staying the night at the hotel connected. So handy to have a pub next door. We had a great meal here. Anna was our waitress, super friendly and did an amazing job accommodating all our need! Well done

Delicious for a nice casual lunch

We've had both breakfast and dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed both, especially dinner, which was enhanced by Calum! He reminded us of a favorite bartender at home, took care of us in a humorous way, and was generally attentive and answered questions easily.

Food was amazing. Amanda the chef made sure all of our food was correct. Service was fast and everyone is so welcoming.

Server was very polite and attentive food was good quality and a reasonable price and a fairly large portion, atmosphere was nice and chilled lots of kids about but all well behaved. Overall a good experience.

Four of us enjoyed lunch at the Highland Gate. All meals were good. The best gammon steak I have had. Generous portions.

There was 5 of us having lunch last Saturday which was absolutely delicious especially the lamb shank compliments to the chef. Calum was a fantastic host and the banter was just hilarious and his recommendations were spot on. The girls helping where very pleasant and friendly. Good experience all round.

Prosseco was not chilled brought another bottle after i asked for a chilled one it was still warm. Then asked for a jug with ice to put the 2nd bottle in. Starter was cold in the middle I had kofta so after the 2nd plate was still not hot and cold in the middle I asked them to just bring the main and to my utter disbelief the seabass was also luke warm and not once did anyone come to ask if everything was OK. Will not be back, very poor! Hot prosecco and cold food. No thanks

Had good value lunch. Waiter listened and had alteration made to one course to suit us.

We were immediately seen to on arrival. From there on the service was excellent. The manager was very helpful and the young gentleman who served our table was very good and friendly. Even the man who filled up the machines in the kids play area promised to give my granddaughter a reward if she ate all her meal and true to his word ,he let her chose a child friendly toy. She was absolutely delighted. The food was hot and the quality very good. The prices were very reasonable. The parking facilities outside were abundant and spacious. First time here. Nice atmosphere and lovely food. Good choice of food. Joe, our server, was great. So friendly and helpful. Restaurant and toilets very clean. Will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends and family.

Food was decent but service was terrible. Waited ages on drinks, ordered deserts two were brought out then we were told they had run out of the other, which was sticky toffee pudding, which is one of the most popular deserts anywhere so to run out of this was ridiculous. And to wait until the other deserts were served before telling us wad just ridiculous, this actually ruined things especially given the very slow service.

Quiet afternoon lunch No problem with service at the time and food was good Problem came after we left and I looked at bill in detail We had ordered from the set lunch menu 14:50 two course 17:25 three course (from memory) so was surprised to find food total £40:58 Mystery solved when I realised we had been charged full price for sweets! No mention when we ordered sweets that we would be charged extra OK our fault for not challenging bill when presented but it does leave a bad taste especially as in view of the service we thought we had received we left a decent tip!

Arrived late and the kitchen was closing. The manager very kindly arranged for some food that the staff were eating to be shared with me, which was very much appreciated. Have stayed here a few times and the rooms are always clean and comfortable and the restaurant welcoming.

Lovely venue food delivered without a long wait. Very friendly and helpful staff. I had Gammon with all the trimmings. The portion size was good. Unfortunately the peas were horrible, hard and not properly cooked, I found the gammon to be well cooked but a little too salty for my taste.

Excellent central location for a bunch of friends to get together from various parts of the country. Easy, free parking, seated right away and service just the right time between courses. Clean, tidy premises and attentive staff. Good choice of menu. No complaints at all.

This spot is lovely and relaxing place and staff were great.. food was also lovely... will defo be back.

The friendliness of the staff is what makes this place for us. They are always so welcoming & so kind to our dog, giving her treats & water. That means more to us than anything! We had 2 homemade soups which were lovely! Great value for money! 2 ribeye steaks which were quite costly, I was a bit disappointed with half a tomato, 1 small mushroom & I swapped chips for salad & thought the salad portion was a little poor. For a lunch £60+ is quite pricey but everything is going up & like I say the service & staff more than made up for the 2 steaks.

We love the Highland Gate in Stirling. Calum is always so welcoming and friendly. The staff are efficient and helpful....nothing is any bother. The new menu is smart and full of great choices for every taste. Calum runs a braw restaurant and he is a wee gem. We will visit again soon. Kindest wishes to all.
