1st visit. Very friendly staff always with a smile and happy to help. Disabled access fantastic. I could get around very easily in the wheelchair. The good was outstanding especially the po boy shrimp baguette, the tatter tots where Amazing . Highly recommended will be going again

Great food is always a good place to eat

American themed pub restaurant, with specialized steaks, ribs etc. It has IPA beer but not craft beer, it best to stick with the lager. Pricy but it an experience.

Absolutely amazing food. Equally amazing service and couldn’t fault a single thing. My 40th Birthday was great at hickory’s they even sang for me and we all got a free drink so well done hickory’s. We are definitely coming back 100 percent.

We've been to a few of the Hickorys but this was our first visit to the Southport restaurant. Our table wasn't ready but we were happy to wait at the bar and have some drinks, we didn't have to wait more than 15 mins. Our children were super excited to go to the cinema. Their excitement was short lived, as they walked into what can only be described as the after math of a food fight with a slight whiff of vomit and toilets. They quickly came back to our table. Our food was delicious, super tasty ribs and onion rings. Our evening was hugely disrupted by the group on the big table next to us. Their children were completely out of control and clearly had no idea how to behave in a restaurant; wrestling in the middle of the floor, constant yelling, swearing, kicking tables, feet on seats. They were between the ages of 8-12. My 6yo was sat closest to them and had to move to the other side of the table as they kept bothering him. Not one parent even looked over, never mind telling them to behave more considerately. The staff were generally really good & friendly, just a bit forgetful/harassed with the busyness; table water requested twice, bill requested twice , glass of wine forgotten. But overall it's the clientele who let this place down.

Lovely place, but after our main course nobody came to us about deserts or drinks . We then had to get their attention to pay 🙄

From the moment we walked in, and were greeted and sat down at our table, we knew it was going to be a lovely night. 1stly the smells of the food just added to the great atmosphere, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The children were entertained with a quiz book and colored pencils and then given a bag of freshly made popcorn, so they could go to the small cinema room to watch a movie while they waited for their food. The menu had plenty to choose from and it all looked amazing, it didn't disappoint, we all loved our choices of dishes, but we all made room for a desert, again plenty of choice and didn't disappoint, We will be back again to try out other tasty dishes and have yet another great evening.

Wonderful restaurant that has a great atmosphere. The decor is lovely, staff are friendly and food is great and authentic. The outdoor seating is a great touch with heat lamps provided for colder weather. The building was easy to locate and provided ample parking. Bar has a wide variety of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and the menu has a great selection of barbecue and side options. The frickles in particular are rather nice (if you're a fan of pickles). The Mac and Cheese is probably the best example of creating an indulgent dish I've seen in a long time. Only issue with any of the food was that the fries were a bit bland and underseasoned but this was not the case with any other item. A great experience all round and a must go for any fan of authentic barbecue.

We had a lovely night here The food was lovely .It was the first time my partner and i had been to hickory's and we would both most definitely come back again.staff where very accommodating with food information and service to the tables outside it is a lovely place to visit we recommend it one hundred percent.

I’d been to Hickory’s on many an occasion and although I have no complaints with the food, we felt rushed by having a print out of our bill delivered to our table (without request) and having only been dining for just under an hour. :-( They’d also included a fee by default on our bill entitled “Tip Jar”. I ask, why are you charging a table of just x2 people for extra money without approval? What makes you think you are entitled to this extra money from us? Makes for an awkward atmosphere on a day when it was our wedding anniversary. We don’t get out much so thank you for a poor experience Hick-no-more-y!

We'd booked a table for 6pm and finally got seated after 6.30pm. Unfortunately a 'singer' on who was not great and very, very loud. Usually love the music played. Food great as always, service excellent and massive attention paid to allergy needs.

Heard a lot of good things about the full Hickory's American Breakfast recently, so I thought I'd spoil myself this week and try it out, see if it's as good as they say. And I wasn't disappointed. It was enormous. The whole Hickory's experience was absolutely brilliant, if truth be told, and I was greeted at the door by a really lovely young lady named Lydia, who led me into a very spacious dining area with loads of varied seating arrangements to suit every demographic of diner. So I settled on a nice quiet corner table and sat back with a mini bag of popcorn, courtesy of The House, whilst the Chef put together an amazing array of waffles, mushrooms, eggs, beans, bacon, tater tots, sausage and tomatoes. Truth is, I couldn't eat it all, but I think they half expect that at Hickory's, so there's no need to struggle, because Lydia very kindly boxed up the waffles for me to take home, which I thought was a lovely touch. Why give yourself tummy ache when you can take your leftovers home with you for later? But those little touches, (like the free popcorn and the boxed up leftovers to take home with you) all make me want to come back here again. Soon. Especially now I've seen their Ribs & Louisiana Steak dishes. I thought the atmosphere was excellent (loved the Soggy Bottom Boys singing "Man of Constant Sorrow" in the background). The service was perfect (thank you Lydia, you were the perfect hostess and I intend to become one of your regulars, now). The food was fantastic, and considering I got to bring half of my huge plateful home with me, then the prices are extremely reasonable. All in all it started 2024 off with a real smile and I look forward to popping in more often. I really LIKE being spoilt and respected like this, they really treated me like a valued guest, and those little touches went a long, long way. Thank you. FIVE STAR (PLUS) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(+)

I visited with my husband and children, the restaurant is lovely and feels very family orientated. Overall the food is great, we enjoyed everything however the biggest complaint I have was the steak I got, it cost £25 and I asked for it to be cooked medium, as it was a steakhouse I was really looking forward to this but when it came it was very very well done. You would think that since the main focus of the menu is meat that it wouldn't be too hard to get right. Everything else we ordered was fine and would probably return just wouldn't waste money on steak again.

What a fantastic team ! From start to finish the best customer service i have had for a very long time ! I work in retail so I know how difficult it is . 10/10 definitely highly recommend a visit.

Great experience, was just before Christmas so the place was rammed, party of 6 of us. Food was super quick and of great quality, no complaints for anyone of us. Good atmosphere and ambiance, only complaints was the fire thing in the middle of the table wasnt working, still didnt bother anyone at all!

Brilliant Go hard or go home burger, absolutely massive! Bit on the pricey side however. The services was incredibly fast and the staff friendly.

Nice food. The Gumbo and French Toast Bacon Stack was excellent. The Gumbo needed just a little more salt to spice the taste. The service was good but the chairs need to be a little more comfortable. I hope that is not deliberate to prevent people from being tempted to spend too much time on their food. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Don't forget to ask for your popcorn for starters. They never forget anyway.

Lovely staff food was amazing service excellent we had about 16 in our party all the food served at same time and when we finished went outside in one of the huts staff give us hot water bottles and blankets

During the last week leading up to our wedding, my fiance and I had a meal here and when Mark asked if it was a special occasion, we told him that by next week we'd be married and he spoilt us with chocolates and prosecco to take home and really made our night, highly recommended amazing food and drink too

Took my lads for some lunch and it was a good restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was good. They didn't have what I wanted so we will try again.

Me and my partner came here for breakfast. I had the French toast bacon stack. I asked the lady serving us not to put syrup on the food and asked for it separately in a pot because too much of it makes me feel sick. It came out covered in syrup and had a pot of syrup next to it. I only ended up eating about half because it was sickly. I would have enjoyed it a little more and probably would have ate it all if the syrup was separate. My partner had the great American breakfast. He really enjoyed it but wasn't too keen on the sausage because it was flat and very soft. I give 4 stars as I do highly recommend hickorys, they use high-quality ingredients and the atmosphere is really nice.

Been a few times and it never disappoints! Went again this evening with my 2 children and we all had a fantastic time, they loved the Cinema room, all the staff were lovely and the food is something else! I need to find out if I can buy their Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Absolutely can't recommend here enough .. from the start the staff and ambience was fantastic ! Lauren was our waitress and she was ace ! We had the olatter for 2 and boy did it deliver ... lots of choice and piping hot Restaurant lovely clean and tidy .. the tables had the extra added touch of kitchen roll and bottle of water Bathrooms were spotless and they had a lovely basket of items that ladies could take including freshen ups 100% recommend 👌

Best BBQ I had in a very long time! Falling off the bone babyback ribs, tender brisket and succulent pulled pork along with slaw and crispy fries. For dessert fabulous chocolate fudge cake. Come hungry, leave happy. Need I say more?

We went when it was very busy but once the order had been given, the food - which was very good - came in a reasonable time

We was out of town for the day and missed having dinner,but we wasn't too bothered as we was going to Hickorys for tea,on the Tuesday night steak and shake day....sure that we would be walking out full ,like when we had the full grill meal last time ,anyway the steaks came,I first thought they had get us mixed up with children's portions.a tiny steak and a cup of chips with a red pepper...I sent a pic to my friend and they said give over you've eaten some of it....no I hadn't touched it..not only was the steak small it was very thin..so all I'm saying is ,nice place,good service but don't expect to walk out full on the tiny Tuesday night steak..

I would recommend and we will go back. But, just a couple of niggles. The menu had changed so the ribs had a dry rub rather than a bbq sauce, a starter was forgotten but that can happen anywhere and some staff were friendly/smilier than others. The big niggle for me though is having the tip set on the bill. I am by no means tight when it comes to tipping, I've been a waitress and know how hard it can be, but I don't want the amount forced on me. That's my decision to make. And that's why it gets a 4 star.

I'm sorry to say it but I have been hear 5 times and tried a range of product on the menu and I just think it's so overpriced. Even my kids who at first thought the novelty of some free popcorn was nice are not interested after out last visit. Great shame as could be so so much better.

I visited here to celebrate my daughters birthday. Gorgeous food, lots of choice, really nice surroundings and ambience. They even have a cinema. I had the chicken burger and onion rings which were huge. Would definately recommend this place

We had a lovely meal here tonight for our 9th anniversary. Our server was Lauren. She was excellent, you couldn’t ask for a more polite and kind young lady. And Lauren very kind gesture of dessert marshmallows chocolate roasted on the house . Our meal was cooked to perfection.can highly recommend. Just 1 suggestion - please put banoffee pie on your menu . Thankyou Lauren for making our special evening more special.

Came on a Thursday evening. Service a little slow and not very busy. Food was fresh and was lovely. One guy might have been a manager with a slightly poor attitude. Only down side to our visit for me.

Fab food! we had a sharing platter it was divine. The place was busy but the service was good. We didn't wait long to be seated, had a quick drink in the bar area till our table was ready. Fantastic choice and amazing food. Def a must!
