Hibagon sushi and grill in Lewisham

Katsu curry was awful. Like a thick sweet gravy. I make it at home from scratch and eaten many times. This is not katsu curry. The sweet potato in breadcrumbs was luke warm and tasteless, the menu said a selection of different vegetables which was not the case. The squid starter was cold and like rubber. Never again

Ordered from their online website, and therefore I did not have the benefit of a delivery tracker. Delivery took roughly 1 hour 40 minutes to arrive, by which time both cold and hot food was luke warm. Sushi was of an average to good standard (although hard to tell due to the temperature). I found an elastic band in one of the sushi portions and the bottle of cold sake provided was (according to its bottle) either out of date or at the least past it’s best before date - not what I would expect for £15 a bottle (see photos). Disappointing considering I spent circa £40. Would be unlikely to use again.

Food was average, service was slow and the waitresses seem grumpy. Sorry but i won't recommend and we will not come back.

I live locally and ordered a delivery via JustEat and granted there is some inflation in prices when ordering online, but be aware the portion of pickles is really quite sad at a cost £2.20 via Justeat, I just so shocked at the portion size, I called the restaurant in case there was a mistake and I was reassured, one plum, and the slices of pickle was correct! I am still shocked and politely said that they may want to review the price or portion as I probably wouldn't order that again. The delivery was prompt, though there was spillage in the sauces that came with the food. These things happen.The rice dishes were good, though with a spilled sauce one in transit one Donburi was quite dry. Noodles didnts travel well,My children enjoyed the Chicken Katsu,and the restaurant were good enough to separate the curry sauce from the breaded chicken. Spent £48 via Just Eat for 4 main courses and once side of pickles.

We have eaten at this restaurant in the past and had a fabulous meal so decided to have a takeaway which we collected. The gyoza and Katsu curry were really nice but the tempura veg were greasy battered slabs of potato, a thin slice of courgette and butternut squash for £5.5. Sorry, but total rip off and not pleasant to eat.

Great veggie chilli ramen. Filling and satisfying and good value. Just what we needed on a rainy Sunday!

We all loved our visit here. Amazing soft crab then Ramen. Sushi brilliant too and really friendly staff. Will go again!

Finally decided to visit Hibagon restaurant after living locally for a few years. I have always wanted to try the sushi but hadn't found the best time as it's a little off the main high street. It was well worth the wait! Classic Japanese minimalist style interiors yet very comfortable, and the team are attentive, professional and friendly. Every dish we tried was lovely. Full of flavour and fresh. Delicious sushi. We will be back!

Have heard this place described as a hidden gem. It really is! From the outside looks a bit uninspiring and in a mainly residential/ shopping area. Inside simple but clean and welcoming environment. Food was delicious really fresh, well cooked and just-wow! Our starters included guidance, tempura prawns and squid. Mains of duck, sushi, ramen and Katsura curries all excellent. Glad we have found it and will go again..and again.

Went here for a birthday meal for one of our nieces and we all had a great time. The restaurant is low key and serves great fresh tasting Japanese food and handled our large party with ease A great local restaurant which we all enjoyed

Third visit 1st lunch delicious as always and reasonable price .Big menu lots of choice.I was wary at my first visit had never had not eaten Japanese food apart from take away sushi. Wonderful variety of beautifully cooked and hi flavoured food.Do try it !

We went there with my girlfriend on a Sunday, the place was empty but it was raining outside. The quality of the sushi was amazing! We end up paying £40 both for sushi and a meal. We will definitely come back and we highly recommend this place!

I live just around the corner from this place and have been four times in the past year. It's a nice, clean restaurant that has just been redecorated (in August 2018) and the staff are always friendly (though sometimes seem a little disorganised). The food itself can be very nice but on occasion can also be disappointing. Our most recent visit was on Saturday night - I had chicken gyoza which was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. For main course one of our group had the chicken katsu and said it was really nice, and the curry sauce was fruity and tasty. Another had the salmon donburi and said it was OK but the sauce had a strange taste. I had the beef noodle bowl and was really disappointed - the sauce was bland and I had to ask for chili oil to perk it up a little, and the beef wasn't very nicely cooked (I was hoping for beef that was a little dark on the outside and pink in the middle, but this beef was grey and chewy and flavourless).

The restaurant looks very unpretentious from the street. You enter inside and find a steady stream of visitors trickling in the entire time you’re there. That says something about the quality of the food!

We arrived when the restaurant was packed on a Friday night and they were handling plenty of take away orders too. The young waiting staff were clearly very flustered. However, we got drinks and placed our food order within a few minutes. 40 minutes later I enquired about our food and was told apologetically there had been a "mix up with our ticket in the kitchen" and the food would be out soon. Other diners around us had been waiting even longer. 50 minutes after ordering, five undercooked, more or less tasteless and insipid gyoza arrived. Barely edible. The mains were okay but not outstanding, and certainly not worth the 90 minute wait by the time they finally arrived. Salmon teriyaki was not particularly fresh and perched on a rolled up bamboo placemat that had been balanced across the plate. Sickly sweet teriyaki sauce. All in all a bad experience. The system in the restaurant was very broken and the food nothing but disappointing. The waiting staff were at least good enough to comp us our drinks and starter to try to make up for the crazy wait. First and last visit.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Excellent sushi, gyoza, curry. Extensive menu with vegetarian options as well. Will definitely be going back

Visitamos este restaurante por segunda vez habíamos tenido una excelente comida allí unos meses antes. Esta es sólo la segunda vez de ir a un restaurante de sushi.

He ido a Hibagon unas 5 veces y cada vez ha sido una delicia! Tiendo a ir por uno de los cajas de bento pero el Ramen es delicioso. La última vez que probamos los bollos de cerdo a la barbacoa que estaban riquísimas! Creo que las cajas Bento son muy buena relación calidad-precio realmente no necesitas nada más, ya que es una opción bastante grande, pero fresco y sabroso. Hay un montón de platos calientes también, en caso de que estaban pensando en que es un poco frío y sashimi no atractivo! ¡volveré!

Hemos estado esperando un lugar de calidad de sushi en la zona de Forest Hill/Hibagon sydenham de edades y no nos ha decepcionado. Sólo hemos tenido como llevar comida, pero cada vez que ha sido fresca, interesante y bien preparada. Siempre orden directa y aprovechar el 10% ahorrando para la colección. Los favoritos incluyen el 999 roll y el rollo de Rocky - absolutamente delicioso.

Vinimos aquí para la cena la semana pasada para no haber casa larga trasladaron a justo al final de la calle. Puede parecer desde fuera, pero la comida aquí es simplemente increíble. Ambos tuvimos cajas Bento que vienen con su elección de principal, además de arroz, diferentes tipos de sushi, edamame, ensalada y sopa de miso. Eran verdaderamente deliciosa y el personal era muy acogedor. Sin duda nos alojaremos de nuevo allí!

Llevé a mi sobrina, su marido y un año allí anoche. No estoy acostumbrado a llevar a los niños a restaurantes y temía lo peor aunque él es un lindo y pequeño chico y muy bien educados. No teníamos que habernos preocupado ya que el personal, dos mujeres jóvenes, eran fantásticos. Además de brindar un gran servicio a nuestra mesa y otros eran increíbles, manteniendo los pequeños entretenidos y fuera de problemas sin ningún problema o molestia.

Nos encanta la cocina japonesa, hemos pasado los últimos meses buscando un buen restaurante japonés después de trasladarse de vuelta desde Sydney, donde la comida japonesa es increíble. Finalmente hemos encontrado un restaurante japonés. Su fresca y llena de sabor. Probar el cerdo Ramen es tan bueno y el Gyoza son realmente sabrosos, por no mencionar el sushi, que es muy fresco.

The food was great here would go back any time. Must admit from out side I was not expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. They deliver as well so I know where my next takeaway is coming from.

What a find and thank God for sushi now in Sydenham!! It's as good as all the sushi places I've eaten at in the States. Try it out.

Fui con mi pareja para una comida en Hibagon, ya que es local para nosotros y había oído cosas buenas de amigos. Nos quedamos muy impresionados con la comida, de hecho una gran cantidad de elección, todas cata muy fresco y delicioso. Los langostinos tempura eran fantásticas!

Popped into this place for some food with friends one evening and we were all very impressed. We ordered a few different items (Ramen, Bento Box, Sushi etc.) & we all enjoyed the dishes we had. Price was very reasonable too.

Lots of choice. We have been several times and always enjoyed what we chose to eat. The staff are pleasant, the decor clean and fresh. Service is efficient.

Habíamos estado en Hibagon un par de veces antes de que visitamos anoche y previamente había sido fabulosa, por desgracia última noche era horrible. Nos dirigieran a las 9:00 p.m., y a las 9.15 pm, antes de nuestras comidas había llegado el personal comenzó a preparar las cosas para la noche. Mesas y sillas se aclararon vueltos hacia arriba en la parte superior de las mesas alrededor de nosotros, a las 9.15 pm? Nos sentimos como si estuviéramos comiendo en un restaurante cerrado, inoportuna, y un poco confundido. Entonces, como nuestra comida llegó bolsas naranjas basura salió más sillas fuimos encima de la mesa. Éramos los únicos clientes en el restaurante, pero sin duda este podría haber esperado hasta que nos fuimos? Es la hora de cierre en línea detallado como 10:30 pm, de haber sabido que iban a preparar alrededor de nosotros a las 9.15 pm nunca lo he visitado, y no debería haber dado una mesa. Yo probé el pollo katsu, que parecía refritos, ya que estaba seco y el encogimiento. Que fría no esperar a salir. Es una pena, ya que habíamos disfrutado tanto en anterior visita (tal vez el fin de semana es la única vez que ir?). El pequeño restaurante sirve cocina japonesa auténtica escondido en una tranquila descriptor no parte de sydenham.fuimos en un sábado por la noche y tardaron bastante tiempo para nosotros a la orden y luego por la orden en aparecer. Resulta que Vivo muy cerca, así que cuando este restaurante abierto me quedé anonadado como me encanta me algo de comida japonesa.

He estado en este restaurante un par de veces, y es todavía no nos decepcionó! Yo vine por primera vez para mi cena de cumpleaños y no esperábamos mucho, ya que no soy muy fan de sushi. Pero me sorprendió gratamente y ahora se ha convertido en un amante del sushi. Recomiendo este restaurante a cualquiera que esté dispuesto a escuchar. El restaurante en sí es bastante pintoresco y el ambiente tiene un ambiente relajado.

Mi familia vino aquí esperando sólo para comer sushi, pero para nuestra sorpresa, nos acabamos comiendo que sólo como un iniciado. El Karage y ramen también son fantásticos! Realmente sorprendente encontrar algo como esto, con esa bonita decoración y dirigido por japoneses en esta parte de Londres. Realmente estupendo. No creo que este lugar merece el € € €€ es más como £ £, es más barato que la mayoría de los lugares en Peckham cercano y la calidad es mucho mejor.

We had a birthday dinner in this restaurant which is about 250 metres from where We live. Amazed - some of the best Japanese food I've tasted and it was hard to fault. Not Soho. Not Shoreditch. This is Sydenham!

Can't believe our luck that such a nice restaurant has opened up round the road from us. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. The ramens are my favourite! Big portions and reasonably priced. I could not recommend enough.

Un amigo me sugirió que probamos este restaurante ya que había sido inaugurado con un amigo y deseaba apoyo. Yo estaba muy entusiasmado de probarlo ya que he visitado Japón y probamos diferentes tipos de su cocina. Me alegra ver que yo me quedé impresionado con el alto nivel de cada plato probamos. También podía beber vino de ciruela, que es uno de mis favoritos. Todos los platos estaban muy bien cocinados y presentados. El servicio de los propietarios fue excelente y el ambiente es cálido y acogedor. Vale la pena el viaje en tren. Ya tengo ganas de comer otra comida allí.

Huge portions and everything is delcious. Big bowls of noodles in broth(ramen), bento boxes full of yummy things, even my very fussy nephew was happy with his chicken katsu curry. Lovely staff. Top quality.

Nos gustó este lugar tanto que volvimos a una semana, y no nos decepcionó. La comida es excelente, puedo recomendar las enormes cajas bento, la sabrosa sopa ramen, muy sabrosa gyoza, y el helado - tanto el sésamo negro (dos bolas) y la delicada mochi rellenas con coco, frambuesas y Sesame helado. Todo es fresco. El servicio es amable y bastante eficiente. Y es muy nuestra factura - a un precio razonable llegó a 50 libras en tres campos para dos personas con un par de copas.

Best restaurant in the area if you're into Japanese cuisine. The food is excellent, good sized portions, politely served, they even have a takeaway service. Good value for money too. Can't wait to return again.

Una adición muy bien acogida en sydenham, este es un gran restaurante que sirve deliciosa comida japonesa. Muchos platos son similares a lo que se podría encontrar en Wagamama, sólo hecho mucho mejor. Los ramen de pollo era divino, llena de verduras coloridas, huevos, y una generosa cantidad de pollo. Katsu de pollo de mi amigo curry era igual de delicioso y la pequeña muestra de sushi probamos (parecía grosero no!) era fresco y fabuloso. Flan era un placer inesperado - un trío de helados, incluyendo un inusual (pero encantador) con sabor uno de Sesame Place. El servicio fue muy amable y muy eficiente. Esperamos que sea aquí donde alojarse ya que sin duda volveremos regularmente.

Se trata de un nuevo restaurante en sydenham y es una visita que vale la pena. Normalmente no soy un fan de comida japonesa pero pensé que probarlo, y estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho. El sushi era muy fresco y sabroso y con excelentes el tamaño de las porciones. Y el pollo al curry yatsu era divino! Sin duda volveremos cuando estoy al lado de la zona.
