Lovely local coffee shop in Hertford, I am a regular customer as the coffee tastes amazing, great quality! I highly recommend to any coffee lovers like me. The only suggestion I could make to improve the customer experience would be to introduce a loyalty card or app as an incentive for current and new customers. Other coffee shops in the area have this and I think its a nice touch for customers to keep returning.

Went here when it was empty. Vegan cinnamon bun, Portuguese custard tart (very soggy and way too much filling). Coffee was OK and the white hot chocolate was mediocre. Staff friendly and helpful

Huge choice of coffee shops in Hertford, and this is one of the best. The coffee is roasted nearby so its a great local operation. Quality of coffee is good, but if you are having tea, cups are too small. Snacks and pastries are very good. Atmosphere os enticing and staff friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a very yummy bagel and a hot chocolate. My friends little girl accidentally knocked over her hot chocolate after taking off the lid to cool it down, and they made her a new one for free, which was nice of them.

Had a lovely bagel and a hot chocolate in here last week. Staff were friendly and my friend's daughter accidentally knocked over her kids hot chocolate and they remade it on the house which was really good of them.

Coffee is always great and staff are always friendly. Some times the coffee can take a while but the coffee is the best in hertford, our regular. Stfaf are also always super friendly

Lovely coffee shop for a nice nibble and a refreshing cuppa. They also sell coffee packs too, so took a Mexican blend home for my own expresso from the kind recommendation of the friendly staff. Plenty sweet treats to choose from in addition to the varieties of coffee. Very pleasant.

Service was a little slow yet worthed. Beverages were nice and staff were friendly and welcoming.

Tl:TR coffee tastes good, service - dazed and confused... but polite. I'm coming almost every week there, and my order is always messed up, I have to ask for my food at the counter. Coffee tastes good, but for this price point, I would expect a bit more organisation and efficiency behind the counter. There are enough people on the bar is just that the orders get lost or mixed up.

the most awful coffee i have ever had. So bad i chucked it away. Dont take cash. Spent 7.00 on 2 coffees then told i have to have in paper cup as i want to sit outside. Should have walked away when they said they dont do cash.

One of my favourite spots for coffee in Hertford. The upstairs work space is great - nowhere else in Hertford offers something like it. Really good quality coffee - I buy their bags of ground coffee to take to the office. Newly added outdoor seating across the road is a bonus. Great service too. Coffees are quite small and food is expensive, but still a great spot.

We come here regularly on a Sunday afternoon Coffee and cake then a nice walk on the common. I am diabetic so really appreciate that i can get a little cannoli for a bit of sweetness for a treat. Staff are always friendly and the coffee and cakes are good.

Absolutely magical place, human (and dog) heaven. Exceptional food - morning pastries, filled pastries, cakes, muffins, buns, rolls… vegan options, too. Fully fully recommended

I live in Hertford and used to love this place for a quick coffee but on Sunday and for the 3rd time in recent months, they took my order then served two other people first. When I asked politely if mine had been forgotten, I wasn't impressed with the "tardy" response as if I was being impatient. My coffee was handed over immediately so it obviously had been forgotten- again. I use Coffee Lab in Welwyn Garden City regularly so it isn't the company but must just be some of the staff in Hertford I guess. Its a pity but I wont be visiting again - Il Vino Cafe and Brew Garden in Hertford will get my custom from now on

Excellent coffee, one of the best I’ve tasted. Extremely smooth tasting with no bitterness. This place know how to do coffee. Paired it with a little round Nutella donut which topped it off. Lovely interior too.

This place was a real find. Excellent coffee, an extensive range of pastries and cake and friendly, efficient service. The cakes were lovely by the way and all reasonably priced. Convenient for the Lee Walk Path.

What a fantastic little bakery - the cakes were looking very tempting, I've opted for the lemon and blueberry slice. It was one of the best lemon cakes I've ever had - moist, tart, full of flavour. Will go back to try other cakes!

Very good coffee and good filled savoury croissant options for breakfast or lunch.

Hands down the best made coffee in Herford. Cinnamon buns are ridiculous and should probably be shared amongst a family of four but are really best kept yourself. Delicious hot chocolate for the children. Some nice cheese straws or something plain but savoury for the kids would go down well.

One of the nicest places to visit for coffee and really nice sweet treats. It would be nice to be able to pay in cash for orders now.

First visit (and last). Small Coffee served in takeaway cups not China and cake was an end slice and tasted a bit dry. Given the price not good value for money.

My go-to for admin. Chai oat latte is banging. Always good cakes. Always served with a smile. Best cafe in Hertford by a long way. Just needs a vegan bagel option pretty please 😉

Cold coffee no where to sit, waited over 15 minutes for the coffee that's probably why it was cold won't be going back there

I love visiting the coffee lab, it is one of my go to places with friends when we pop in to Hertford. The chai is always really good and the selection of cakes and treats are great! Gluten free and vegan options too!

Great tasting coffee, also seeking cake and coffee beans. It's a good spot to get together for a chat and the great coffee helps.

Not a good experience I'm afraid. The coffee was terrible, the place extremely dirty and the staff had no regards for customers . One lady was crashing the plates around, it was so loud we couldn't hear each other speaking. Then out came a lady with. Mop and bucket bashing it around very loudly . Not a very relaxing lunch . I feel I wasted my money going there , I will not be returning.

Great coffee, great service, interesting selection of pastries and snacks that’s well beyond the competition. The Cinnabuns are the perfect naughty breakfast. They saved me with a beautiful flat white after getting some terrible coffee at Bebo next door.

Just round the corner from where we were staying, to get our breakfast here was a complete no brainer! Lovely coffee and croissants that tasted as though you were in the middle of Paris. The place has a lovely vibe, a nice mix of customers, friendly staff and they provide a dedicated workspace upstairs

Popped in for a coffee. Wouldn't take cash - said they can't touch it as it's 'risky' - but - can collect cups that people have used, don't clean tables between customers. Absolute nonsense!

Over priced and apparently they don’t want my cash anymore. Won’t go anywhere where my paper money is refused. Would like to support this local business but don’t appreciate being snubbed by rude staff.

Good little local coffee shop with delicious looking bakery. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Good covid secure measures with tables distanced and door open for ventilation. Place does not allow for laptops which keeps seats free.

Nice coffee, nice food, a friendly service and a nice environment to sit. I like that the ground floor is a laptop free zone, and that is on the 1st floor.

Very unfriendly place. I remember having the door literally slammed in my face when I tried to go in there 5 or 10 minutes before their closing time. On another occasion they wouldn't serve me 15 minutes before closing because they wanted to start cleaning the machines (just change your opening time by 15 minutes). Today they refused to serve me because I only had cash. It's always different snotty little kids "serving"... Don't know where they find them all...

Great coffee with a friendly vibe

Would love to say this was a great experience but it wasn't. Ordered two coffees for myself and my boyfriend which both arrived luke warm at best. Also ordered a croissant with ham and cheese which somehow arrived with no ham despite all the croissants at the counter appearing to contain both ham and cheese and the waiter stating it was ham and cheese when putting the food on the table. The food was also burnt on most sides. Asked for two tap waters with our order which also never arrived. Looks lovely on the inside and staff are friendly but for us the food and drinks weren't up to scratch. Would opt for another coffee shop in town next time.

Lovely coffee, but thought the prices were extortionate. I ordered an iced coffee, a tinned soft drink and a slice of cake and it came to approx £9! The cake was quite heavy and dry, which was a shame given the price.

Love it! Best coffee about. And cakes, with a few vegan options too. Knowledgeable staff who took the time to explain the range of coffees they had for sale in store.

I only asked for a large tea, got one in a small takeaway coffee sized cup and charged £2.50. Could do better. Otherwise very popular amongst coffee lovers.

Great little coffee shop. Been here a couple of times now and would recommend. I haven't tried much of the food so can't comment. The coffee is of good quality, the coffees are on the smaller side but I prefer it to the massive ones you get elsewhere that are mostly milk.

Really disappointed that all drinks served in paper cups but no place/ bins for recycling them ! Drinks lukewarm , pretty tasteless not sure if they actually put much coffee in! Shame when so many places to choose from in Hertford ! Will try somewhere else next time .

Yes, this is a specialist coffee shop that roasts it’s own coffee, but that’s no excuse for charging the prices for the size of the cup they provide. Actually, they weren’t even showing any prices when I was there and when I asked why they didn’t display their prices, I was told quite snootily that they were up on the board if I cared to look. They weren’t and she was quite embarrassed when I pointed it out. Admittedly, anyone can make a mistake but there are ways of addressing your customers and not to show the prices of the very thing your supposed to be selling is careless to say the least. It is good coffee, although I have had better, but I think they have a very high opinion of themselves and think that they are better than they really are.

The food is uncovered and sloppy on display, it doesn’t look nice. And each time I’ve visited the staff are always moody and cold, it seems like your interrupting them from their social time. It wouldn’t hurt to crack a smile! The back wall needs a new paint job the black graffiti is very 2007 and ruins the atmosphere! Shame as it’s the only coffee shop in hertford. It needs some serious love.

Sooper lil independant coffee shop. Great tasting coffee. Brews its own coffee too. Couple lil tables out front, direct in the sunshine, nice coffee and bring your own company or a good book to read.. whats not to love.

Purchased 2 drinks in the smallest paper cups in the world, no choice of size just small, with an extortionate price tag. You could only pay using a credit card, cant understand what is wrong with cash. These London type fairy cafes seem to to think they can dominate the world. but they all forget the pandemic will soon be over and will be competing for your custom, dont forget its the customer that feeds you.

My coffee was made to my exacting requirements and it was perfect ! A nice selection of specialist cakes and pastries. A great experience so will be going back.

Pricey as it is a gourmet coffee shop, but the coffee is great. The sizes and quantities are half of your average high street coffee shops. Try a cortado here and you will fall in love.

Cosy, cute cafe with lots of plants and amazing customer service. The iced mocha’s are especially lovely. Will be visiting again and hopefully post-coronavirus without restrictions.

Usually very good but think they may have put the wrong milk in our coffee as hubby was poorly all afternoon. Saw them making mine with the wrong milk and told them but hubby's had already been made and it stated on the cuppa Soya so trusted it was correct.

Friendly, value for money and excellent products. I am caffeine intolerant but LOVE coffee and this is hands down the best I've had in a long time 😃
