Most of the time food is great! A nice treat once In a while. The staff can be snappy and rude at times which is unfortunate. The food can be lack lustre at times as-well. However more often than not the food is great and freshly prepared.

Really fed up with making ling the trip specifically for Herons for them to be out of Chicken and Chicken Gravy hours before they close. Like seriously just seems staff don't care and want to shut early. Wouldn't hurt the staff to be little more friendly once in a while. Better service in a mourge. Should really take a look how things are ran.

Food is lovely, it's service without a smile and the atmosphere is none.

There is not a lot of flavour from the chicken breasts.

Disgraceful. To start it off I ordered from and immediately the staff had a snappy tone towards me and my family. I was then stood aside from the counter waiting on my food , the brunette staff member then abruptly told me to move shouting “no” that it was not my order. This made me belittled as if I was back in school. Safe to say I will not be back absolutely shocking service and food didn’t make up for it.

The food from here is something special. The special sauce has been a mystery for many a year! Great service, nice warm food, and well priced.

Part of the NI franchise, this is one of the best take aways in North Co Down. A tried and tested, chicken serving pleasure palace. The chicken burger with lettuce, cheese and mayo is the queen. The super chips just need to make sure they stay loaded with thick fries, don't be skimy now!

Dropped in for a box of chicken and chips. Chicken was very very greasy and batter very sludgy. Gravy tasted of flourly glue and not anywhere near the quality of the 'other' fried chicken alternative. Chips were lovely.

Absolutely disgusting customer service in this place. Not overly familiar with the place or the menu as this was only my second time visiting and was met with borderline disgust by a member of staff for not knowing what the side order options were. My first experience was much the same, with extremely rude staff, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and go back but it was to absolutely no avail. Not one of the people who served me today have any manners about them whatsoever. As someone who works in customer service myself, I would lose my job if I behaved that way towards a customer. Safe to say I won’t be back.

Very underwhelming. Got chicken box meals and got overcharged for them. Chicken was not fresh and god knows how long it had been sitting. Chips were okay. The chicken gravy was poisoned with salt. Overall unpleasant experience

Love the food. But Every time I’ve been in, an older blonde woman manages to ruin my day. She’s rude, yells at the staff and when I ask her for fried chicken she says she doesn’t have any …AT A FRIED CHICKEN PLACE …(and this has happened 3 times) but the staff manages to find me some. Some people just shouldn’t be employed. I will not be going back because of this woman

Chicken kebab meal on chips. Southern friend Chicken slices , on chips, with chicken gravy, crammed into a box. It's supposed to be for one person, however, I've never managed to finish a whole serving on my own. It was my daughter who introduced me to this little gem of a take away in Comber.

Love their chips, service is slow at times but food is always top notch for a fried chicken place. UPDATE: As of May you need to check your order when you get it, been 3 times in 4 weeks and they have got it wrong each time, missing chips, missing salad and Coleslaw, missing sauces. I stood tonight and saw all 2 meals infront of me wrong and the one coming after too. Food still good!

No gravy again useless store tbh 2 hrs before shutting staff don't care and wipe these noses alot at till poor show rather eats of mcdonalds floor

Worth the trip to comber, food always exceptional!

My wife and I went into herrons in comber on the 24th march for a takeaway I asked for 4 pieces of chicken and chips x2 for myself and my son and a fillet burger and super chip for my wife I was told I can't have a 4 piece meal I would have to buy 4 two piece meals I questioned the girl and was told that s the only way I could have 4 pieces of chicken also my wife's order was charged as a fillet burger meal that I never asked for in total the order came to £36,15 a total disgrace for myself my wife and 9 year old son we could have went for a pub meal and sit in comfort all I wanted was 4 extra pieces of chicken and ended up being forced to buy extra to get the original order I wanted which was dumped in the bin ie fizzy drinks we don't like and extra chips it was a complete waste of money the service was terrible I questioned the girl on the price and was told that's the way it is basically take it or leave it so we definitely will not be using herrons again which disappoints us it will be KFC from now on I wait a reply please

The food here was truly rancid. There were bits of meat in my chips and due to myself being vegetarian, this made me very uncomfortable and squeamish. The chips tasted like rotten vegetables and my veggie burger had only what i can assume to be the remains of the plastic rapper the chicken arrived in. One worker in particular was extremely rude (I believe she was called Sadie Osbert) and failed to smile at me when giving me my food. I will not be visiting here again.

Very tasty food here but also overpriced

Just finished a 3 piece meal about ten minutes ago. I have to say it was really delicious. Gave a piece of chicken and some chips to my mum. She loved it. I was eating mine in the kitchen and she was eating in the living room. When I called down to see if she liked it she was too busy to answer me. When I went to her and asked her again, she had her face stuffed. I waited for her to finish and she said this, "Omg. It's extremely good. 10/10." She also gave a thumbs up. I'll be back. A lot. And I'll never eat in KFC again. Now excuse me, I have to return some video tapes.

Staff are lovely even when the place is cued out the doors and they’re clearly working very hard. Food never misses and personally I could eat it every day.

Real disappointment. Loads of chips but hardly any chicken on the kebab. Chicken gravy was a real funny colour and texture. Staff where really helpful just wasn't a great experience

Gravy was a bit jellyish and it's colour was bland thank, goodness the Chicken is ace.

Just had my worst ever country fried chicken. Usually the food is great, but yesterday the chips were only half cooked and soggy and just ruined everything.

Kebab on chip with chicken gravy, awesome!

The whole family really likes it. The ratio of chicken to batter is really good. They provide lots of condiments etc. The staff are great with elderly locals who like a little chat with their order. My nephew wasn't sure if he would like the 3 piece meal so they gave him a free fillet just incase. Quick service.

Absolutely shocking, chicken kebab on chips plenty off chips plenty sauce fit for Michael Phelps back stroke still trying to find the budgy as referred in previous review.

Called in lunchtime to get the chicken kebab. Was more like a budgy not a lot of meat at all. Plenty of salid 🌾🌿

My husband's favourite take away. Best chicken ever according to him. As a veggie, I'm delighted I can eat the chips are they are cooked in rapeseed oil in a separate fryer! Delicious!

I have to eat here when I visit family, I live in England and crave super chips. Fabulous service always and food cooked perfectly, chips with chicken, onions and chicken sauce is the best comfort food ever. Please open some shops in England and also let me know the recipe for the super chip sauce 😀😀

Used to love this but food has went down hill a lot

The staff had rings on. No hats. No gloves. Same hand used for cash as serving. Despite a 5* hygiene rating. Overpriced e.g family bucket of chicken here is double the price of the well known high street competitor . No seating or delivery service. Minimum parking (drive in and reverse out) Slow service. No view of salad bar. Indifferent non communicative staff. 9 out of 10 customers are male between the 15 to 25 age range on a Sunday evening at 20.30pm. Asked for a cup of water for our dog. Had to buy a bottle of water and a cup.
